What's Next For Kate Gosselin? Jon Gosselin Reacts To The Cancellation Of Kate Plus 8

Hello Gosselin fans! This week has been a hard one for the fans of Kate and her family. Not because we didn't see the signs on the wall and the inevitable cancellation of Kate Plus 8. 150 shows and almost 6 years is nothing to sneeze at. But there have been such nasty gloating and cheering from the haters that you just wish you could smack all of them lol. I for one have to keep telling myself that 3 years on my site is nothing to sneeze at either. So much has happened, this site and myself have gone through so much, you kinda wonder where do you go from here. Just like Kate. For me, I have had to deal with both sides of the bloggers make attacks and accusations, perhaps in the interest of pumping up readership. Alas they forget who they're dealing with. I don't plan on going anywhere, won't give them the satisfaction of just ending it and letting them "take over". This site continues on, until all others have gone. I thank those of you who have been loyal and stuck by us. And here's to an amazing new chapter in not only my life but in Kate's as well! Xo BM
Jon Gosselin "Relieved" His Kids Won't Be On Tv (File this one under DUH) RadarOnline.com
Jon Gosselin has responded to the cancellation of his ex-wife Kate's reality show, Kate Plus 8. He is "very relieved" that his kids will be away from the cameras, he tells RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. "I hope they can have more private family moments," he added.  "I hope that this will bring more privacy to my children and that they can get the proper attention they need for any personal issues they might have in the future." Gosselin confessed that he learned of the cancellation via a "press release," but that he wasn't surprised by it."Contracts have to end at some point. I think everything had run its course and it was time to come to an end anyways."
Jon and Kate Gosselin burst into the national spotlight with their original reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8 which premiered in April, 2007.  It featured the Gosselin family -- mom, dad, a set of twins, and a set of sextuplets. It became a ratings blockbuster for TLC, soaring as Jon and Kate's marriage imploded in front of the cameras.  They announced their separation in June, 2009. A tortured divorce proceeding followed. The couple share custody of their eight kids. Jon has a steady girlfriend and lives in an apartment not far from his ex-wife's large house. "I have no clue what her next move is," Jon said. "I hope she dedicates more time to the kids now and I wish her the best as she goes forward with whatever career she wants to pursue."
Kate Gosselin Already Planning Her Comback (Or Take THAT Haters!) HuffingtonPost.com
After news broke that TLC would be bringing down the axe on Kate Gosselin's show, "Kate Plus 8" upon its 150th episode, no one was more shocked than Gosselin, herself. But anyone that thinks America’s most famous mom is going away needs to think again. “Kate is already planning her next career move,” a friend of Jon Gosselin's ex tells me. “For sure she’s not looking to find a 9-5 job but instead, [she's] looking to start up her own production company.” Just a few weeks ago, Gosselin told me that she had her eye on producing, saying, “I know when things translate into TV. I’m good at it 'cause I live this life. I have had people come to me and say ‘I have this great idea for a reality TV show.’ I actually, in my mind, can play it out and see it happening ... for me it's like writing a living book and I really love to write.” In addition to reality shows, Gosselin is also looking to write another book, get into acting and is even interested in having her own fragrance. “As far as Kate is concerned, she is TV gold,” a friend of Gosselin's tells me. “What is TLC's loss will be another networks gain.”

  1. I dunno, I stopped watching the show after the nasty divorce. Just not interested. It was too Jerry Springerish. I think that type of thing is fodder for the welfare moms that sit home with nothing to do but live life vicariously thru reality tv.

Never had interest in a once in awhile show. If they wanted to put her and the kids back on the air it would have been better to keep the viewers watching regular. Shrug, could be just me, though.

  2. Still hoping Kate writes another book.

It wouldn't surprise me if Kate started her own production company. She's learned a lot over the past six years. I wish her success in whatever she does.

Also have a question--Were any of her cookbooks ever sold? I just don't recall hearing about that.

  3. Cindy great to see you!

Corrina, I really wish she would do another cookbook too or at least just re- tweak the one she made and have it produced in the US. The only reason why it wasn't kept in the US was because it was right in the middle of that messy separation & the cookbook was pushed as "loving family cookbook" and "making meals into memories". Heck I still don't know why they didn't just change the cover, tweak a few words & get it out there! Kate did say on Twitter thankfully that she will re-new her nurses certificate just in case. Though going straight to the very hard job of nursing, working all those long hours being away from her kids.. Well I'm sure she will flesh out any other options first. And rightfully so! I really hope they get her on the next Celebrity Apprentice! Lol

    Baby Mama - nice post.

One good thing about a door being closed is that then you are free to open other doors. Often that "new door" has even better vistas than the old one.

    Go for it Kate!

The first is a twitter petition to save Kate’s show.
The second is also a twitter petition to put Kate on a different network.
The third is a non-twtter petition for those who don’t have twitter, which is for

  7. Ziggy - Thanks so much for your comment with the links.

I'm hoping either Baby Mama or I can get the graphic and link you so graciously created posted on this page. At present, she and I are both stuck using iPads and I can't figure out how to do it via iPad since I need multiple windows open simultaneously.

Due to construction here, I have neither our Wifi network or power for the computer until at least this evening. Thanks again for the graphic you created and for the link information.

  8. Linda & BM,
Thanks aren't necessary. It is about helping Kate as much as we can and working together to do so.

I'm trying to figure out how to put all three links into one graphic. I learn as I go.

Although I don't do facebook & am not familiar with it (I only secured the facebook ID of ziggyflo to keep the AKO's from pulling a stunt on facebook using my ID), I think it would be very helpful if someone would step up and do a facebook campaign to help Kate.

If anyone chooses to do so, I will promote your campaign on my blog.

  9. Hello everyone! I finally on my own and without paying Best Buy like $100 purchased my own keyboard and put it in my laptop on my own. I was praying it wasn't a virus, and in face it was kids getting garbage in the keys I think. I'm proud I figured it out myself!

Whats everyone doing this weekend? Haven't been able to really get on Twitter so I have no idea what Kate is doing. Hopefully shes getting her name out there and looking at offers!

  10. Opps I forgot to add that I put the banner on the bottom of the page but its all the way down there. I'm going to see how it looks on the top of the page later tonight. Thanks Ziggy!

  11. You're more than welcome.

Same old same old on Kate's twitter.
I always get a kick out of the hater's talking about how obsessed the fans are when theyare the ones on Kate's twitter non-stop more than any fan. The haters who make that accusation the most are the one's who've been on Kate's twitter essentially not stop since it began. LOL They love spewing hate to all day long and now don't ya make a spelling or grammar error, you hand will be slapped by them immediately, humiliated in front of the world for you lack of education and your life will then be in ruins.LOL

They are the experts in all, doncha know!

  12. Oh, did I make spelling and grammar errors in that post? Where's that rock I need to crawl under?

  13. Good morning everyone! Sitting enjoying breakfast with my children & my parents outside. They survived sleeping over with my little one wanting to drive them crazy! All is great with the world!

Ziggy the Google alerts are hysterical! What is Kate NOT allowed to go outside and ever show her face again now that her show is canceled?

Everyone get outside and have a beautiful day! Xo

  14. I thought that the haters would be happy the show was cancelled. More proof that their premise of wanting the kids off TV was just a front and not a real issue. Empathy for the poor wallets of all those with back to school shopping to do. I don't know who has the idea that cost of living has stayed the same.

  15. Hi all. Busy day, busy weekend, lol, what else is new?

tashapork - Exactly! They've always been about hate for hate's sake, never about the kids. What warped whackos!

Enjoy your weekend, folks! Hope the Gosselins are having a great weekend also!

  16. Good Sunday Morning! I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Thanks BabyMama and LindaO for the information about Kate's cookbook. It would be great if they updated the cover and a few things and sold it in the states.

I've been canning beans and pickles and freezing corn. Soon I'll have to make spaghetti sauce. Busy time of the year-but the weather has been great.

  17. What a beautiful Sunday morning here. Off to tackle my basement. I love organizing and am kind of looking forward to getting it back into shape.

I loved watching the episode of Kate +8, where she organized her basement. I think I might buy a labeller (sp?).

Does anyone have one and if so, any words of advise?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Corrina - you make my mouth water every time you talk about your canning and freezing.

fascinated - we have the electric labeler and the manual one where you pull the trigger to advance the wheel and feed the roll of plastic labels. Manual is cheaper and I think it works about as well.

  19. I have a ptouch, love it except for how expensive the lables are, you can get good buys some times on Ebay.

  20. Just heading to bed but I wanted to stop in and say hi. :)

I finally watched the Question and Answer Ep and it was great. I love that FiredUp got a mention...how is she BTW?

My body's forcing me to bed though so I'll be back on tomorrow..y'all have to get me caught up.
