Kate Plus 8 Hodge Podge Dinner, Who Does Kate Gosselin Miss? 9 Words Women Use

PopEater.com EXCLUSIVE: Kate Gosselin, the star of TLC's hit 'Kate Plus 8,' has rubbed shoulders with everyone from the 'Dancing With the Stars' cast to likely presidential hopeful Sarah Palin, but the person that she misses the most might surprise you a bit.

"Without a doubt I miss Terri Irwin the most," Kate told me on Monday. "We email a lot. We were so busy those two days we had with them. They had a busy schedule we had a busy schedule. But we need to reconnect and we said it. We have a lot more to talk about." Kate and the kids visited Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo during a visit in January, and got to see a show with Terri and her daughter, Bindi. Cameras were rolling when the two reality TV families collided (in a friendly way) and that episode of 'Kate Plus 8' aired in April. Kate admits that with her busy schedule it's difficult to make time for anyone but her kids, but tells me she wouldn't mind bumping into Sarah Palin again.

"I haven't talked to her in a long time," Kate tells me of Sarah, who invited the Gosselins up to Alaska last year for some televised bonding. "Honestly it's not any other reason than the fact that, you know, you do this show, that show, you lose track of people." She also tells me that she rarely talks to anyone from 'Dancing With the Stars,' including her dance partner Tony Dovolani. "Yes, I talk to Evan and Erin," she says of Evan Lysacek and Erin Andrews. "Yes, I run into people from that, it's just you sort of met people and run back into them eventually. It's very few that you end up with." She adds, "Everyone is really busy that's the bottom line."

Kate reveals to me that Monday night's episode of 'Kate Plus Eight' is a really good one that she's very excited about. "It's a gross, horrifying, episode really. A lot of the episodes are my idea, but I came up with this ridiculous idea one day that I was going to let the kids chose what they wanted for dinner. And we turned it into a game and categories and went to the grocery store and they ended up picking like the grosses stuff ever. I actually ended up having a bad attitude cause I was like, okay, this is disgusting and they loved it.

Kate Plus 8: Hodge Podge: Kate Gosselin Does Not like Messes: RadarOnline.com

For the first time ever, Kate lets the kids take over her kitchen, from baking treats to planning their own meal. They are off to the dialysis center where she and the kids hand deliver baked goods to those undergoing treatment.

Even with eight little ones running amok, reality mom Kate Gosselin likes her house just so, and she never takes a break, not even when she's baking with the kids!
In this sneak peek video of the upcoming episode of Kate Plus 8, Kate keeps the kids firmly in check even while baking treats for the local dialysis center patients "If it turns into a mess you're instantly done," Kate tells her boisterous brood.  "I'm not into messes and you know that."
"If you spill sugar you will get down and pick up every granular and you know I mean that," she says to the kids.  "The only excuse for messes is carelessness." After making blueberrry cinnamon muffins, brownies and cookies Kate is asked if it is fair to say that she doesn't like messes. "Is it fair to say the sky is blue on a sunny day?" She replies... in case anyone was still wondering! Check out Kate Plus 8 Monday on TLC at 10/9c.

NINE WORDS WOMEN USE
(1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.
(2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.
(3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.
(4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It!
(5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)
(6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.
(7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. (I want to add in a clause here - This is true, unless she says 'Thanks a lot' - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not thanking you at all. DO NOT say 'you're welcome'. That will bring on a 'whatever').
(8) Whatever:  Is a woman's way of saying F---  YOU!
(9) Don't worry about it, I got it : Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking 'What's wrong?' For the woman's response, refer to # 3.

  3. Jon Gosselin old quote of the day I have to share...

“I’m not saying TLC is exploiting my children,” said Jon. “But I do believe the media and tabloids covering my family and the show for their own financial gain are the ones exploiting them. I have said on numerous occasions TLC has afforded my kids a better life and has helped provide a better roof on their heads.”

  4. What a great episode. I had to laugh because I hate a messy kitchen too. My mom is a messy cook and it drives me crazy to cook with her. I can't imagine how anyone can be so messy while cooking. LOL.

My kids are teenagers now and want to bake. I just walk away and clean up hours later, after they have attempted to clean up and I have eaten their goodies.

  5. Thanks Jacques! It's a great birthday. So happy birthday! I hope you had a great one. :)

  7. Watching the 1 am re-airing of tonight's episode and enjoying it. I don't care much for a messy kitchen either. Oh yuck when sugar's on the floor and it's crunching under your shoes before you can get it swept/vacuumed away. Then it seems to get tracked everywhere.

Sardines? That would definitely be a "gross" factor for me! My DH adores sardines but I can't even be in the room when the can is peeled open!

We let whichever kid is on meal prep helper duty choose the veggies for dinner. We've found that helps in getting them to eat them. I still puree extra veggies into sauces for meatloaf, marinara sauce, etc to get more of them included.
    ----
Ali -We did have grilled asparagus for dinner and it was a hit! Don't know why we'd never thought of grilling it before. Thnx for your tip.

  8. Hah, sardines. I am the only one in the house who likes them. Even the cat won't eat those. Amazing that Collin liked them; what kid eats sardines???

  10. Ok, be proud, I stayed up to watch the show last night! And this morning...I am drinking a very large doctor pepper.

I liked the episode, so nice to see them just doing stuff around the house. I was happy to have stayed up!

Linda-I'm so glad! You will never go back now. :)

  11. Hello everyone! How much do I love you guys! I have not been on Facebook in a while, so just getting to that and a few of my emails. You have all been so wonderful and supportive and from the bottom of my heart I just want to say thank you. Wherever the world takes me, I'm forever blessed that I met you all through my fan site!

Kate has a new post up today. I really love it and it speaks to me much like the other post did. I'm NOT a fan of her Twitter posts because I don't understand them. lol And yes she already knows this, so it's nice to read her thoughts and know I have always made the right decision in supporting her. I hope we can do more down the road together and have told her this in the future...

  12. Thanks ladies! :)

I just read the new post of Kate in parentables, I love reading all the things she writes; she was a little distant from the site and I was already homesick for their posts, the last she wrote my favorite is one she speaks like legos brought peace to her house, is so sweet.

  14. Jen Santos is still having problems posting. Still trying to resolve the problem.
She emailed me the following and requested I post it for her.

Been trying to post this comment but blogger won't let me.

The last couple of weeks have all been great episodes.  Keep em coming, TLC!  And by the way, move your family friendly shows to a family friendly hour!  I'd be thrilled if Cake Boss got moved to 10pm.  Is it just me or do they play that show constantly?

I loved that Kate's old friends from her job we're thrilled to see her.  Just goes to show that she's not the witch the tabloids make her out to be.  Would love to meet Kate one day!  If she ever makes it out to Sacramento, CA, I'm SO there!

Also, why does it say Anonymous says: at the top?  I'm logging in under my id, but it won't let me post anything.  Grrrrr.

    Jen Santos

  16. Collin is amazing. He's so serious and thoughtful. He's reminding me more and more of Kate. He seems to have made the care and feeding of the chickens his special mission in life.

  17. I never liked asparagus until I had it grilled, now I LOVE IT and I LOVE Ali's idea with the bacon, delish. I agree with Peggy about Collin, it is soo neat to see their individual personalities coming out. Mady for one is really turning into a mature insightful person. I could see her running for office one day. I could see Collin managing a company, Aiden running a wildlife preserve, Cara being a gym teacher or coach, Joel working with computers, Hannah being a nurse, Alexis being a veterinarian, and Leah is a little tricky for me, maybe I could see her run a non profit agency to help the poor or something, I may be totally off base, but it's fun to guess.

  18. Good morning everyone! A few of you have asked me why Ellen removed photos of Jon from her blog. Well first off, I just went on today for the first time in weeks. I don't know anyone who can dare attack Kate for wanting freebies then look at Ellen's blog. As we all know You at least get the product or money in exchange for advertising. I was just thinking she was trying to make that mess of a site more legit, and not using Jon like she has in the past to make a buck.

Ellen's blog used to be a hot mess, it's getting better. Using herself as a model, not so much..I won't even go there. How can they attack the way Kate dresses when Ellen looks worse plus 10x worse in the Summer? Are they even together anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tashapork,

Totally agree about Mady. I was thinking the same thing, she is really maturing. I think it shows how even when there is a family hardship like divorce, parents have the opportunity to be a positive force in the lives of their children! Kate has been there and has stayed involved with them every step of the way. She's not perfect, but she loves them and it shows.

  20. LOL BabyMama, tell it like it is! Maybe all is not as rosy in "government workers" love life with Jon?

She tweeted she was depressed the other day. Well, Jon boy ain't gonna be much comfort. I doubt he would have a clue how to help a WOMAN who was depressed! LOL

So BabyMama...what mischief are you up to with Kate? I so envy you have a direct way of communiKating with her! LOL

Was another really cute show...I'm amazed how each show seems to be debunking rumors that have swirled around about Kate...now we know that Kate in fact did have a good relationship with co-workers.

And the dinner was a hoot...so funny watching the kids...and Kate with her direct comment about messes..."is the sky blue?" LOL

Hello...Jacque and Debora! Nice to see you post and yes, Kate has another great blog entry!

  21. Happy Belated Birthday Jacque!

And congratulations on 3 years BabyMama.--That's
    awesome!

FiredUp--I love the "debunking" too--absolutely true. Amazing how the nonfans have been manufacturing lies for so long and they still haven't learned. Where's that Karma?

  22. Maybe Ellen's depressed because she's not going to become rich & famous through Jon but still has to put up with him?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks Corrina!.
My God! haters are so annoying. I sent a tweet today to Kate and told her how much I enjoy reading your posts, and in less than 5 minutes a hater sent me a reply, criticizing the bad writing of Kate ... etc. I think it's amazing how these people wasted their lives to try to change people's opinion on someone they envy. It is simply disgusting!.

  24. Hi Jacques - Sorry those nasties did that. Block and ignore them. I think they must be jazzed on caffeine from too much coffee. Too bad they never learned to add a bit of the milk of human kindness to lighten things up. Can you imagine how horrid it would be to spend your life 24/7 dwelling in hate? Be glad you live far, far away from them. Xoxo

  29. At a Taylor Swift concert tonight!!! 20 mins before start and screaming is wild already!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hello everyone! Linda have a wonderful time at the concert! I know how much the kids were looking forward to it!

Welcome SugarANDspice! We have a great group of girls here, we hope you stick around!

Now haters make fun of fans (or maybe just me) calling us stalkers, but I swear nobody's been keeping track of Polly aka WerneyGal. She kinda fell off the earth for a bit. But now she's back LITERALLY stalking Kates house. I wouldn't put it past her to be the one who took a bat to Kates house.. Why? Well because her psycho behind took a photo of it AND wrote a post about it! WTH!

"TLC is out filming at the house today but that wasn't today's big brouhaha.  The big fuss was about Kate realizing her mailbox had been defaced.  From the picture it looks like she got the same treatment as most rural people around here get eventually ~ wildass bored adolescents driving around with baseball bats and nothing better to do.  In fact it looks to me like her mailbox took much less of a beating than most of them.  We gave up on having a nice expensive mailbox years ago thanks to this rural pastime.

Not sure why Kate has a private mailbox anyway when we have a wonderful local post offioce.  She picks up all of her mail at a private box in Wyomissing she pays for rather than using her regular USPS mailbox or having the post office hold it for her.  She also refuses to accept the steady stream of certified mail she receives at the local PO.  When the mail carrier rings at the gate, she doesn't respond.  Like all other mail customers she is given two notices and then the certified mail is marked unclaimed.  Hope she doesn't miss something important, since a little bird told me a lot of her certified mail appears to be from attorneys.  Maybe she thinks she'll get lucky and all her legal mail will go away just like her therapy bill did."

  32. I personally think anyone who stalks Kate's house is ill. Shouldn't Kate get a restraining order from her? Can she? Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I really think someone is either making something up or committing mail fraud if they know that much about Kate's mail.

    ReplyDelete
  34. If this little birdie who is informing Polly about Kate's mail works for the USPS, I think they have likely just lost their job, as they should.

This is Kate's private business yet Polly sees nothing wrong in reporting about it.

Re the attacks on the mail boxes. We had a spell in my area where teens where doing this several years back. They'd go through the neighborhood and just wack down all the mail boxes. Or they'd fill your box with rocks so the mail carrier couldn't place mail in the box.

  37. I hope the Gossselins do something really cool for the 4th. I know its one of their favorite holidays. I remember the one summer they went to that house in North Carolina and had crab. I had empathy for them cracking crab for so many people. We have so much to be thankful for in this country. I hope everyone has a great weekend

  38. I just finally (lol sorry) watched the latest show. The haters have said how dare Kate tape garbage bags to the counter. I was expecting them to be taped to the side of the counter. I saw nothing wrong with her taping it on the counter at all. If they were carving pumpkins or painting, wouldn't any parent do that? There are 8 of them. She wants to avoid a mess. Big deal. If she said "no baking at all because it makes a mess" I would have a problem with that. But who cares?
Another rant of the haters is about them visiting the patients and how wrong that it. well, no one forced anyone to be on cam. The patients that were filmed probably had to sign some type of release saying it was ok for them to film. So....those adults consented to being filmed. What's the big deal? It's not like they were all hooked up to machines and so on. They filmed a couple of patients in the waiting room. Not a huge deal (to me of course but to a hater, it's the end of the world!)

  39. Happy Canada Day to all ya Canadians! :)

Sitting and waiting for my son at the movies. It's 101 here with heat index. Yuck. But happy Friday!

    ReplyDelete
  40. SugarAndSpice, its silly what some people complain about, one day it was that she served the kids homemade cream of asparagus soup and they loved it. Parents I know would love for their kids to eat and enjoy such a healthy meal, but this was the whole topic on a hate site. Any possible thing Kate does, breathing air, walking, nodding her head can be analyzed and broken down into negativity.

  43. We're getting ready for our annual neighborhood 4th of July event. All the kids decorate their wagons, bikes, scooters, etc. and there is a parade, followed by a shared dinner with everybody bringing their favorite foods. There's something special about seeing the flags along the sidewalks, etc. along with patriotic music (Sousa marches get everybody in the mood, lol.)

Our kids did a trial batch of cupcakes that was a flop. They wanted to try it "with no help." First question was, "Mom, what do you do if you put in 6 eggs instead of 2?" Somehow I think they did not put in enough flour and way too much sugar. They'll practice making more tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Linda, we had the same kinds of kid baking experiences with cookies. They think they can alter the recipe to their liking, but don't understand the mechanics of how baking works. It is good that you allow the trial and error because that's how the lesson best sticks in their minds, with the price of eggs these days, its hard though

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ah BabyMama...what are you up to? BTW all...my leg is mending nicely...I always do heal fast...it's a wonder how God created this body to self medicate & repair all the stupid accidents we subject ourselves to! LOL

Im thinkin Jon has the kids this weekend? Kate has indicated she really worked hard, long hours this week...most of it regarding filming. Im sure there is so much "behind the scenes" stuff that Kate has to do after the kids & her film.

Also noticed that TLC is making Kate do most of the promotion by herself...radio interviews alot right before the show. Im sure she has to schedule all that and discuss content of interviews, etc.

We are headin out to the lake today for cookout with friends. Will be another hot southern day!

Jealous LindaO about your concert event...although I bet all the screamin was tough to endure! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hello fired up! I'm going to get into email now and reply to you. I've been so busy this week I had three different gigs in the past few days PLUS working and this was also the kids first week off from school so I'm truly all over the place!

How is everyones 4th of July weekend going so far? Yes I know it's rime for a new post. Will be back tonight to finish this so until then feel free to chat here!

Is e eryone gong away or staying home?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wow, stayin really busy this weekend....soon will be off 2 neighbor's pool for the afternoon! So thankful that we get along super with them and they are like family!

So we will be hanging out there...still no swimming for me though because of my leg! Hopefully might get stitches removed next week!

Kate has an alone weekend I see and will be tackling her "to do" list today. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Guess you all know "haystack dweeler" Polly is being incredibly stupid again...seems she has been stalking (of all things) Kate's mailbox and has put up a post about her mail contents! Talk about a nosey neighbor! I can't believe she made this public on her blog!

Kate really ought to get some kind of restraining order against this woman. Soon enough she will be hanging from the trees gettin pics of Kate out by the pool! LOL
