  1. I am sooooo excited, but wow it comes on late here. I thought it would be on at eight and now I have to wait until nine, oh well, I waited since November, I guess I can wait an hour. We had Pats Cheesesteaks today. Seen them on tv. Tomorrow we are going to enjoy some stuff we did last year and tuesday it's home. Traveling is a lot of fun, but it also makes you appreciate home. They should have shown the very first episode then houses and big changes then Kate Plus Eight,

  2. Right now the saddest episode is on, when the Tups turned 5. I litterally choked up seeing Alexis? hugging Jon. Not wanting him to leave.. Missing him. Seeing the montage now of the babies and the way things were is so heartwrenching to watch. Making me excited for the premiere though.

  3. So tired but excited to see the shows. Hope it's been a good birthday, Baby Mama ! How was your lunch?

  4. Aww Linda I miss you! You are the Robin to my Batman. I will text you, since I begged for unlimted..lol This IPhone has wound up costing me more money that I thought it would!

My whole family came back here and my Dad insists on SciFi and I have to still do the kids baths. So I will be watching with yall on the West Coast tonight! Let me know whats going on and how you all like it so far. What was the opening promo?

  5. My son and I are watching. So far, the show is great. The kids are interviewed a lot. They are quite talkative and touch everything. I can see why she needs extra help.

  6. I have to watch later as well BM :( It's Hockey Night in Canada...Not sure how to make that sound you make with your tonque when your annoyed..but you get the picture. While I was typing this, Ha Ha Ha my sister just called to remind me about the show..my G blogging is still my guilty little pleasure, I guess.

  7. I don't want to say too much for those that are watching later, but Kate and the kids encounter Love Bugs. Real Love bugs, too funny.

  8. fascinated~The Irony! I just can't get myself to call haters anything that has to do with love..hehe.But the bug part is great. Did they change the opening montage? I feel like I'm missing out, but I'm just getting the kids to bed now! I hate when guests are here late. It messes up my whole night ;)

  9. wow, the second half just about Kate is great. I swear that TLC watches your site Baby Mama. They have answered a lot of our questions. Kate's relationship with her fans. Why she has a body guard and if Steve is the only one. Does Jon look after the kids when she travels. What happened with the book signing in CA. I think it is very informative. I think Linda and Schemky Girl will have to get the transcripts so that they can use it for a reference. I am sure they will have different opinions of what is said... : )

Sorry Baby Mama, I missed the first two minutes of the show and missed the intro.

  10. Happy Birthday Baby Mama and many more:)

I don't want to spoil for West Coasters and others watching later but I do think TLC did a very good job tonight and with both episodes. It looks like the next episode is July 11???

I did not realize how much taller than Cake Boss Kate was ?! LOL!

  11. last comment- Steve is great. Baby Mama, you are going to love this series. Even my son is enjoying it. I can't wait until others post__ their comments.

  12. I really missed the family and I think Kate looked great in the 2nd hour. I missed the first hour and right now houses and big changes is on and it is the saddest episode to me!!!!

  13. Loved both episodes, I didn't realize how much I missed watching.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I loved the shows. I loved the intro especially the way that the kids participated in it. I loved seeing how happy and well adjusted the kids are and how human their mom is. I miss my dvr because I like going back and savoring parts of shows I like. I noticed she was getting food for them at the place we ate at last year in the airport. I also liked that Steve was there addressing issues instead of hiding in a closet.

  15. Loved both episodes...I am so happy that they are back the kids are all so big .I have really missed them. We have Direct TV and I didnt see any reruns since the show was stopped. Cheers for Kate and the Kids they have come a long way this past year and they are going to make it and shine. I just loved it

  16. fascinated~ Of course Kate reads my site! ;) So happy to hear the good news! Going to sit down with one eye open from exhasustion and see if I can stay up till 1am to at lease watch the first half. Whoever told me ot re-set my DVR was so right. It didn't start taping Kate Plus 8 till I re-recorded it.

Hello and welcome back to all my readers I haven't seen in a while and to those that are new!

  17. I watched the second hour...I'm dying to discuss! I'll wait till the a.m. though, as not to spoil it. I'm going to have to stay up till 1:00 if I want to watch the birthday show. My least fav(sniff sniff I found it so sad) the crooked houses is on right now.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Momsby~ right there with you, cant wait to see and discuss everything. Getting ready to go to bed and hopefully the kids will cooperate tomorrow so I can have some serious "blogging time"...a girl can dream right? :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. I really didn't like the Crooked Houses episode either. Not because the houses and the kids were so stinkin cute. But seeing Jon being stubborn with putting those houses in the creepy woods really pissed me off. Also the fine dining brunch was the most all-time most DEPRESSING brunch I ever witnessed.

  20. Hi Kate, First of all I dont know for sure if you actually get the time to read these, but IF you do, I want to say I LOVE YOU, THE KIDS AND THE SHOW. Im so glad you are back, Ive missed you all. Second Ive loved watching you grow, as much as them. Despite, the curve balls life has thrown you. You have been a WONDERFUL Mom. I honestly believe God, threw you these curve balls to you, so you could be an example, that life goes on and you have to get up and dust yourself off, and make the best of a bad situation, and that you have done! Im so excited to see all the upcoming shows, and how you juggle providing for your 8 wonderful kids as a single parent, to all the melt downs the have, so patiently. Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your famil , and dont let anyone get you down. You can NEVER make EVERYONE happy, so do what you feel is right for you and the kids, and the ones that love you will stand by you, all the others are just jealous and will never get anywhere in life if all they do is judge others. Thanks again, and God Bless! Your BIGGEST Fan!

  21. Welcome Crystal! Such a sweet note!
Who loved seeing the kids in their Peace,Love World shirts! Best line "The Basement is back to normal because mommy got eliminated!" too funny!

I really like the opening. It was cute!

    ReplyDelete
  22. The kid's joy about the houses was the only highlight of that show for me. No way would I want my kids to play that far away. I think that episode bother's me most because it was my ah huh moment about Jon. Took me awhile I know, still hoping for the best though.

  23. Have you ever seen Kate so happy? Her smiles were genuine, her patience was epic (did you fully digest the first 24 hours of their Florida trip? I would have been in the Paddy Wagon!), she was truly HAPPY and I am SO thrilled for the new show and for her. I will be doing a KATE*VERSATION on my blog after each episode where I talk about the show from a "mom" perspective, i.e.What did Kate teach or emmulate in each episode that moms everywhere could learn from?
I am really excited for her!
    GO KATE GO!

  24. Just realized there are 4 webisodes up on TLC's site with extras from tonight's episodes. Really cool they watched the shuttle launch!

  25. HeatherAV~ So happy to see you again! Thanks for letting us know about the webisodes! One eye still open watching the show at 1am! zzzzzzzzz lol

  26. Awww seeing those kids brightens everything. They were so much more articulate and it was so cute! I felt for Mady and thought Kate really did try to help her understand, but sometimes there is no perfect way to do things. So glad Alexis got to experience the dolphins -- she really did look like a poster child. So so sweet :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I enjoyed both shows a lot.

The kids are so much more aticulate now but just as adorable. Mady's braces did wonders - her smile is beautiful. It seems like the filming is less intrusive - we only saw bits of the vacation and a few scenes at the house.

The hour about Kate was interesting and I agree with so much of what Meredith Viera had to say.

  28. I missed the shows last night, does anyone know when they're going to be replayed? So far I can't find any repeats on TLC!

    ReplyDelete
  29. For me I loved seeing them all back, it was Great to see all of them. Honestly Jon was not missed. The show is KATE PLUS 8 as far as I see it. One thing that was hard to watch was the Maddy issues, I believe that should be for Kate's eyes only, why? Because like my daughter said to last night, Maddy has to go to school and all those kids at school saw her breakdown and she will be teased to no end on her behavior in the show. Otherwise I loved both hours, it is good to see those little faces again. We have all seen then mostly from birth and I think Everyone wants to see how they grow...Loved it!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't think Mady will be scarred for life if she faces disappointment and life not being fair. I think Mady is just being Mady and part of it was normal sibling rivalrybut she does have more of a point this time because during hers and Cara's birthday was the height of Jon and Kate animosity and she did feel gypped I do think next year will be better. I also think Kate did a good job of trying to help her We often missjudge as parents how much children enjoy wehat we see as younger kid stuff.
I also think it is neat how the kids seem to be really excited about the sleeping bag campout at Dad's. I am not sure if it's discussion belonged on this show. Some people might see it as putting Jon down publicly even though I think for Kate it was more about her releasing control as a mama and being able to let them go. The one thing I noticed during the repeats was myself not being able to avoid calling Jon on his lies and such, kind of like how men do when watching sports.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I only watched the first 15 minutes or so of the 1st hour, just because exhaustion set in and I couldn't hold my eyes open until 1 in the a.m. While Kate has deemed herself Clean Slate, I think that things for her are essentially the same, MINUS Jon. I was SOOOO not expecting Steve to sound like THAT, but I didn't know what to say about what I was expecting him to sound like. I really hope that Kate can continue to find inner peace (because don't we ALL worry about being horrible mothers?) Can't wait to see the "more to come" from the Gosselin Gaggle!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think Jamie recently went through a divorce herself so maybe now when her kids are at Dads she has more freedom to travel. I know she did hel with Mady and Cara a few times. Also maybe she's now more comfortable being on camera. Too bad she had to miss Discovery Cove. I too was really surprised about Steve's accent and I see now what things the h people misconstued and took out of context to come up with some of their romors.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I sat in the bedroom watching while hubby and friend watched the Flyers. Seeing the kids greet the crew was heart-warming. Proves they truly like having them around. I smiled for two full hours.

    Only two suggestions for improvement.
    1. Prepare Mady & Cara for the "TV" celebrations for the tups. It is staged for broadcast so why not let them know in advance? They are old enough now to understand that "some of the appeal" of the show is because of the tups, just because it's unusual to have so many babies at one time. So some things are done just to give the viewers some fun. They have private events for the family.
    2. Kate. I love Kate. But a cover-up over the bathing suit. Please. No need to walk around with parts hanging out. We know she looks great. No need to bear it all.

Steve is a pro and a good addition. Good to hear him speak (lovely Aussie accent)and be an open part of the Gosselin family life. Not having him hide in the background.

So happy to see the kids being happy, cranky, tired, funny. . .

Thanks to Kate for being strong and carrying on. Thanks BabyMama for hanging in during the bull-throwing. It's good to have a place for us to celebrate!

    :)

  34. Good morning everyone! I am in a coma..literally. Once I realized that the DVR did not automatically tape it since it's considered a new show, I stayed up till 2AM watching it. Yes, 2 am. I was a hot mess getting the kids ready for school.

Tiffany, they will be replaying it on the 9th. I think on one of my posts I mentioned it would be earlier, like 7pm EST. It will also be replayed on the 10th. I am putting the first hour on my site right now. It's the tups 6th Birthday party. Unfortunately since the first hour had to be split into 5 parts, I will be saving the 2nd hour for my new post. Its just easier. So lets get up to 100 posts quick! lol

  35. Dee that was a great article link. From somebody with no Gosselin connection, totally unconnected. Maybe once and for all shut up the two head lovebugs. (No such luck.)

  36. We were in Savannah last night (reach Jacksonville in another hour.) Hubby is production coordinator for this trip. Major mistake. No TLC in last night's hotel. Major tears and meltdowns. Kids cried and won't talk to Dad. He was thrilled that suite cost $79. That should have been a clue, lol. He was seduced by promise of 3 big flatscreen TVs. Of course the only channels that worked were sports. No TLC. No Disney. No cartoon network. No A&E. And so on.

He stopped at rest area today and found a different hotel for Jacksonville. So Mom does Mayo Clinic through noon Wed while Dad does beaches and Adventure Landing with kids. Then off to Sarasota and Ringling to check out elephants. Little kids & dog stay in Jacksonville with friends and we collect on way home Friday.

Travelling with mega kids + dog is always an adventure. Lol

  37. Thank goodness for rest areas with wifi connections for computers!!

  38. Kate...I never watched the show much until after the split, because I did not like your husband. Just something about him....

As a mother of 6, mostly grown children now, and one set of multiples, and as a Psychologist, I think you are FABULOUS! You are doing an amazing job, mothering and just living life. You have the patience most mother's could only hope for.

I remember when one of my children had a melt-down because our multiples always had a "longer" birthday...now it seems everyone's birthday just lasts for days and days. You handled it beautifully.

I think you are an amazing woman and my heart goes out to you for your struggles and your ability to continue on, doing the best you can.

You are an outstanding role model for young mothers and I can see why my two grown daughters are such fans!

  41. Happy belated B-day Baby Mama!

Ever since all of the drama started around this family I had thought that it would be best that the children not be filmed anymore. When I heard they were going to be on TV again I couldn't decide what to do. Was I going to indulge for my own pleasure or not watch?

Well, yesterday I didn't even remember it was going to be on until I saw saw it listed in the guide and without even thinking, like I was on auto pilot or something, I flipped to the show. It wasn't until my husband and I were talking about Maddie and wondering how this all will have affected her in the years to come that I remembered I was considering not watching the show! Ooops!

I obviously don't have Schmecky's conviction as I couldn't "walk the walk" but as we all do, I hope and pray for the best always for this family and especially those beautiful kids.

    ReplyDelete
  42. To whomever mentioned it - LOL, I would gladly pay and order the transcripts from Kate+8, but unlike CNN and others, they aren't offered.

Thanks Baby Mama, for posting. At least I now have watched the first hour! I'm delightfully enchanted with how much the tups and twins have grown. It's nice to see them more articulate (as others mentioned.) There is less captioning necessary to explain what they are saying.

I wasn't surprised by the twins meltdown. Heck, it's a large family. If you have no meltdowns in your family, please patent or trademark your secret right now and make millions. Saying the words, "It's unfair" is kind of a trademark of kids. What was "fair" yesterday when it was my turn is clearly "unfair" when it's your turn. I wouldn't be alarm.

We even kept a scorecard for a while in our house of who said, "It's unfair" the most. Keeping score probably wasn't fair, but that's the way life is. At least a dozen times a day I say, "Guess what? Life isn't unfair! If you expect it to be only YOUR way you are in for a LOT of heartbreak. Learn to roll with the punches!" I've threatened to record it on my cell phone so I can just pull it out and have it give the speech for me.

I have a sister with one child and she rarely experiences meltdowns. There's nobody to compete with! But also, nobody to readily play with, or hug with, or be with. I have one twin who's convinced the hospital mixed her up and she is with the wrong family (doesn't matter that she's the spitting image of siblings.) I'd be really surprised, really truly surprised if there were never disagreements, meltdowns, etc. because I don't think that's reality. Watching makes our kids re-assured that they are normal. The same things happen in other families.

Thanks for posting the first hour, Baby Mama! Much appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No offense, but too bad the word police decided not to watch. This person could chime in I'm sure. I think Kate is doing a marvelous job. Is she perfect? Nooooo, but that sure wouldn't be any fun to watch, now would it?

I still say, if you like it watch, and if you don't like it, then don't watch. Last time I checked, nobody was forcing anybody to watch. I think Kate also shows what exercise does for the mommy after giving birth. That should motivate many of us to hit the treadmill.

Thanks srcshaw1 for adding your comments. It was nice to read what you had to say.

  48. my2girls~ TLC added in the post that it's old but it was done the day of the tups b-day. I guess they figured since it aired finally that people wouls want to re-read her post.

You all can read Kates blog by clicking on the "cartoon" Kate on the right sidebar!

  49. Ahhh I LOVED both episodes last night!! Discovery Cove looked AMAZINGLY FUN and has made it on my to-do list! And the 2nd episode was awesome- I'm so glad that they talked to Steve, that was a nice surprise! I had no clue has was an Aussie. lol And Meredith had kind words as well, after all, she's spent so much time interviewing her over the past year!

  50. BabyMama~Gotcha!! Sorry, I wasn't paying attention I guess, my apologies! I do LOVE her blog though no matter what...old or new!!

  51. Those kids have grown so much, especially Mady! So from what I read the ratings were great! 3 million+ the reality mom reigns, Go Kate! Which brings me to hour #2 I loved it.

My favorite part: Meridith Viera: "It's her body..I think people need to GET A LIFE" Oh man I cracked up when she said that because that's what it all comes down to. Good words of advise from one of the most successful female television personalities, who by the way has taken on her television career on top of being a wife and mom to three! I'm a huge fan of Meridith's but that's another story LOL

This "Kate's World" special did open the eye's to their point about "tabloid Kate" we saw her interviewed by Meridith that time about the new book and the dancing and you could tell as a viewer she looked beat, Meridith even mentioned it and she responded "I'm tired and I miss my kids" etc we see in this special that moments before or after? she was in tears regarding what she read on the internet?! How sad is that?! especially regarding such a matter as custody.

Anyway Kate loves her fans and it was made very clear in this special. I see there is no new special until the 11th, but it was great to see the Tups growing up and a happier Kate.

*I posted a bunch of the IDs from the premier and there is more to come thanks to everyone that emailed last night and thank you Babymama as always!* Now get some sleep LOL

  52. Did you see Perez talking about the ratings?

  53. GosselinGarb~hey sweetie, just saw the update on the new site! Holy smoke girl, so cosmo! I love the grouped photos from Kate's looks. I was happy to see the Gymboree outfits up!

When I e-mailed you I said that I was somehow on twice. I still can't figure out how to take one of me off. Anyway, now I don't see the followers.. Did you remove them? Anyway, I will e-mail you again if I cant figure it out. Has anyone asked about the one shoulder multi-colored dress here that she was wearing in NYC? I love it!

A few days ago we chatted about taking pen off of my baby pink cole haan bag. I finally got it out. As far as my Coach suede, it appears to be too dirty now to fix. Nothing seems to be working...

    ReplyDelete
  54. Folks,
Some of you feel the need to email me an update on things being said elsewhere. If you didn't read it here, I didn't say it.

I post a lot here at the GosselinsFamilyblogspot. I do not post elsewhere, either on other pro Gosselin or anti Gosselin blogs. I just don't have the inclination to do so. I would never post on any blog where anonymous log-ins were allowed.

IMO Baby Mama allows both pro-fan posts and non-fan posts. She does not allow hate posts; It is her call when those folks get deleted. It is her blog and she makes the rules. I'm comfortable with Baby Mama's stance or I wouldn't be here.

I appreciate that most posters cite sources. :)

I'm delighted that most of the negative people have moved on. I truly hope they stay wherever they've landed.

    ReplyDelete
  55. How do you get to The Gosselin Garb website?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Linda, I know it can be really hard when Kids are expecting something and they are let down. It does surprise me that a hotel wouldn't have tlc. You might have a talk with their oorporate headquarters. Good luck with the Mayo Clinic.
I know it is a hassle to travel with pets, but right now I really miss my dog, I can't wait to get home and see him tomorrow. We were gone eleven days, a long time for me. I love to go, but then it makes you really appreciate home. I am glad the show got good ratings. I really think the Gosselins are a lot of what made TLC what it is today, it used to be the nerdy documentary channel

  57. I just am so happy that I was able to see them again. I LOVED the opening. They seem happy and Kate truly seems a lot less stressed. There was a complete difference from the 5th birthday to the 6th birthday. I am very happy for the family and look forward to seeing more specials in the future. Thanks Baby Mama for providing this site. Kate you are awesome. Continue doing what you are doing, your kids are beautiful and adorable!!

  58. my2girls~ Click on the photo under "where can I get Kates dress? It will take you directly to her wonderful site. I just e-mailed her and asked her to send me a cool square logo that I will be putting on my site. There you will just click on that. There is a link back to my site on hers. It's a great "joing venture".

She has gotten alot of great requests for all things Kate. She also finds any of the kids clothes you need! Gratis, free! Its your own personal Gosselin Shopper! We are so blessed.. :)

  59. Thanks momsby, Tashapork, and Baby Mama. Have to be back there at 7 am for next procedure and too nervous to sleep. Lol, our dog refuses to leave my side tonight. We brought him because he doesn't eat for days if left at the kennel. He's a little Scottie we rescued last year. Don't know his history and don't want him worried again. He's a dear. He makes the rounds at night almost hourly checking each bedroom and then guarding the stairs.

  60. Hi all~ I have had an eventful evening ...returned from the dr's office and pharmacy for my 4 year old...she was diagnosed with Lyme's Disease...UGGGHHHH. So it had me thinking with all the "lovebug" talk the haters are much more like ticks... disease carrying blood suckers! They try to spread their hate like those nasty little bugs spread disease.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey Jessica;

While most of us might agree that the h people are more like ticks, I still feel that being a positive site with name calling not allowed, that we should go with lovebug. Tick to me is like namecalling (even if it might be true, lol)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Tigger~ I was mostly just joking, I could careless what haters are called. I really try not to even think about/talk about them, but since we were talking about "lovebugs" and after my experience at the doctors this evening I couldn't resist sharing... :)

    ReplyDelete
  63. Jessica~ you may have something with the whole tick thing..I'm kinda liking it! I can't do lovebugs, it has a warm cuddly feeling that they do not deserve. However ticks give me the scratches! I'm twitching as we speak.. So I will have to think about it.. ;)

  64. I didn't think of this until today but I really am glad Kate seems to have a good support system of friends around her: Steve and wife, Jamie, Carla?, her DWTS buddies, even TLC folks perhaps. I watched friends of mine go through a divorce last after 10 years as well and having the support network around was crucial for the wife in particular. I think this has definitely helped Kate become more confident.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Dang it, I missed it! Got to set the DVR to grab them all.

    ReplyDelete
  66. First, Happy Belated Birthday, Baby Mama! Due to family obligations I've been MIA and haven't had time to read or post. It looks like most here have already expressed so much positive reviews on the specials that I don't think I can add much more to what's already been expressed.

I'm just amazed as a lot of you at how all the kids have grown but adjusting well. Their greeting the camera crew was such a joy. I'm glad they allowed on screen time for Steve and Jamie, too, but especially Steve so that his professionalism really shone.

I loved how Kate handled all the meltdowns, but especially the twin's. She is so understanding of the hows and whys; from the fatigue, hunger, overwhelming activities, adjusting to new routines, lifestyle situations etc.

I also appreciate how they portrayed the "evolution" of Kate's journey; the determined adjustment from stay at home mom of 8 to a single working mom of 8 who happened to fall into celebrityhood because of it. She now continues to learn to embrace it and take advantage of the opportunties the best she can, despite all the difficult decisions she's had to make.

I'd also like to had the I also think "lovebug" for the trolls is a misnomer and/or oxymoron. One annoying insect that they remind me of is the stinkbug. They're ugly black beetles that when threatened, raises its rear end to release their stink and wow, do they ever!

  67. Good Morning everyone! Lucysmom I missed you, and hope all is well. I do hope you come back and post more. It's been so great to see past commenters come back and say hi. It's so nice you remembered I'm still here!

So we will have to wait an entire month for a new special! I hate that. It would have been so great to once again have my show to look forward to on Monday nights. But most importantly it showed that the kids are happy, well adjusted kids. And that Kate is just a regular mom trying to do the best for and with her family. Adjusting to becoming a single parent could not be easy with 8 kids! Also let me stress that I personally know what it's like dealing with the 9 year old personalities at the moment and going through the exact same thing. Kate does a great job dealing with each childs feelings. This is actually the part I enjoy most!

  68. Nice comments about 10 Reasons to Watch Kate on TheFrisky and picked up by ABC.

  69. I made the mistake of watching this off of twitter this morning and it nauseated me. I really wish they wouldn't have posted this since it is one more thing for the kids to google. IF you have a tough stomach you can go to

The one thing to be glad of is that he was away from the kids.I need to get this laptop put away because it is homeward bound today. LOTS of work waiting at home and a dog. His cousins will probably be glad to send him home.

  70. Oh yeah, I forgot about the nine year old attitudes, but I feel soo bad for Kate. Ten will be a calm year and starting around eleven, will start the teen age years and attitude avalanche will begin. They seem to be involved in athletics and activities, but poor Kate, at least she'll get some practice before the six get to that stage. I love the age they are now, old enough to learn and understand, but young enough to still be kids.

  71. Baby Mama, thanks for posting the special. I work so early that I couldn’t stay up to watch.

Anyway, I loved it. The children really do seem truly happy. I also agree with those of you who mentioned that Kate appears to be much more calm and able to engage in and enjoy the trip, bumps and bruises included.

  72. tashapork~ thanks for the link. I couldn't stand to watch the whole thing. Jon took his partying to a whole new level of immaturity. I just couldn't believe how he was acting. No wonder why Hailey is showing these now. We all knew how she was, but he is just acting like a complete child that is finally able to roam free. After all these months, you would think that he would at least attempt to get a job of any sort. So sad.

  73. ~lucysmom very nicely said I share many of your points.
~Babymama I guess I have to brace myself I have an 8 yo!

So far readjusting to home after the school year has solved alot of the meltdowns, this is just my own personal opinion: attending public school (or any school) with the friends, trends and stuff they are exposed to that can be downright shocking has a huge impact on my own childs behavior. Now that she is home it is down 80% that's huge. She knows her boundaries at home and who is in charge it's comforting to her, in school it's a free for all! I am pretty sure next year will be worse and then it might level off with time, most importantly is the communication and honest open relationship you hold with your child, I think Kate has this to the best of her ability with 8!

For us moms that have more than 1 typically we are just rolling with it from our oldest and then we do a little better for the younger ones it's just the way it goes, you do the best you can and each child is different.

I had a skin crawling moment when Mady had her meltdown because somewhere in the distance I heard "I'm going to live my dad!" LOL and I just say that because I see a lot of my younger self in little Mady my heart goes out to her she is a sweet girl. My mom did the best she could after my parents divorce but to be honest I just couldn't get along with her no matter what! It happens, no one is perfect and everyone has different personalities.
Overall I think everyone seemed to be having a great time between Discovery Cove, the Airboat rides etc. Lots of siblings get all touchy when it's not "their" birthday.

  74. Hey all! Busy helping my daughter make a scrapbook for school...

Thanks for posting the show Baby Mama, now I can watch it! And comment on it. lol.

Hopefully later if I have time. Hubby is home today and he's not a "Kate fan" either so not sure when I'll get to watch it.

The beach was great Linda, thanks for asking. Love having my summer tan already!

  75. Jon and Haily may have been stoned in that clip, but I don't think it was evident from the clip itself. I've been silly before and I wasn't stoned. They may have been that way from lack of sleep. Hailey seemed more out of it than Jon. He didn't seem stoned, just silly. IMO.

  76. Linda,

Hope things are well for you at the Mayo Clinic!!

  77. Gosselin Garb finder I agree about Mady and Kates relationship and that it is going to be tough for them as she gets older. they both have a strong personality and need a lot of control. Mady complained about wanting to be with Mommy on the episode where they were making posters for the firehouse so I hope the parents don't take it personally the one advantage that they have with Mady is that she doesn't hold her emotions in they know right where things stand with her.
Linda I hope things are going well you are in my prayers. We are at the airport it would be solo cool if Kate just so happened to be headed out on some trip but that's silly.

  78. Schmeckygirl, I agree that we don't know what Jon is on in the video. I just think it is sad because it was soo soon after the split and now it's out there forr the kids to see. I doubt Hailey put it up because it makes her look just asbad except she is 22 not a 32 year old father of 8.

  79. Well I only got to catch Kate Plus 8, but I thought that it was fantastic! :) The kids are so much more grown up and as adorable as ever. The little one's speech is become more articulate and they just seem so much older! Mady and Cara are beautiful and grown up as well! Mady's drama scene at the birthday party was no big deal I'm sure...I understand her jealousy and I think that Kate did a good job of explaining it to her. I think it was just another one of those moments that were "caught on tape". Whoever said that Kate's smile was so bright and she seemed very happy up above, got it just right. She's had a tough time for the past year or so, but things are turning around and she looks fabulous, her attitude is all positive, and the kids are happy and healthy... she's got to be doing something right! :) Oh, I'm just SO glad to see them back again- things just wouldn't be right without the Gosselins!

Well.. it's hard not to comment on the Radar video of Jon, but regardless of what they were smoking (or whatever the case may be!) that video is a seriously inappropriate thing to have out on the internet... I hope to goodness that the kids don't see it. I honestly didn't even watch the whole thing, but yikes! Jon is so frustrating! I can't imagine what it would be like to be Kate and have to deal with his antics!

  80. Yay Blogger finally will let me comment! I loved the shows and the kids look sooo cute! The only thing that spoiled it for me is that they played the last episode when they broke up. It pissed me off all over again. But then I watched the new stuff and the kids looked so happy. How cool was it that they had all those people supporting Kate in the second episode?

Anyway...move was horrible and I am still unpacking but soo glad to be rid of that house. Now I am going to relax and enjoy having my mom to help with kids...

  81. CraftyMom~ So happy that things are finally settling in the new house. Don't you just love it? I am jealous of where you are now.. The weather I heard has been warm but nice! I feel the same way when I saw that episode. It was June 2009 all over again. You felt really uncomfortable like you were watching your firends slip and you were caught in the middle.

I'm sorry to hear you had Blogger problems.. So many people said they couldn't post. How dare this happen during this big premiere week! lol..I have to say, it's so great seeing you all back here Blogging. I missed you all! How are we going to wait until July 11th now? ;)

FYI the hits on the site have been amazing and I'm so happy about that...

  82. I have to say that I really love them and the show. I dont care what anyone says about Kate. I think she is a strong woman and I think she does a great job raising those kids. the kids have grown up so much I cannot wait to watch the show next week. Keep up the great work Kate and dont let anyone tell you differently. A lot of us moms really look up to you..

Aww Linda I miss you! You are the Robin to my Batman.
    ---------------------------------------------
Baby Mama, I was reading through the earlier posts and laughed when I read this because Linda changed her name to "Original" when that other Linda started posting and everyone got confused. Later Linda #2 stated that she didn't mean to cause the confusion and that her real name was actually Robin! LOL

  86. Good Morning to All,
SG you always beat me to the punch with your post about Jon. LOL! So true that the video does not show them smoking dope and they are just acting silly. Hailey looks more out of it then Jon. I am glad it was not a sex tape!!! Someone posted here that they thought Hailey would not put that tape out there. Well, I disagree, when it comes to money, look what people do.
Hailey moved all his/her stuff out of the apt. and had that movie so she sold it. Revenge again!

It is in the past so lets get past it! Jon has been bitten in the butt again by his past. I would assume he regrets allot of his actions. JMO

  87. SchmeckyGirl - I'm glad you had fun at the beach. Thanks also for the good wishes. Much appreciated. Yesterday was a truly rough day. Two more procedures left today and then we hit the road late afternoon for Sarasota. I'll email you over the weekend with what we found there.

  88. Schmecky & Caregiver - We don't know much about the video except that it appears to have been filmed by the two of them when they were in France. We don't know the source (except since Radar pays, it could have been anybody) so we don't know that it was Jon, Hailey, a "friend", a cleaning person, or whom. We don't know really what they were doing.

IMO, If we aren't going to blame Jon, let's not blame Hailey either. Right after the France trip, we had a "source" on Radar who said the two were heavy into pot then. I don't buy "sources" unless you can find a second "source" to corroborate. That was a dark period in Jon's life. All we can hope is that he is making strides to get his life on track. It's up to him the direction of the train on the track. He's had enough trainwrecks, so we can just hope. IMO

  89. SchmeckyGirl - I'm glad your scruples on not watching only extend to not having TLC get the ratings credit for you watching. Although we often do not see eye-to-eye, it's interesting seeing your perspective.

  90. Yesterday in our family it was brought home just how important having helpers is in a large family. Hubby went with me to Mayo and two friends stayed with out kids, planning to take them to the beach.

One child had a meltdown shortly after we left, and it resulted in the entire beach trip getting cancelled. While one helper could have remained at the hotel with the meltdown kid, the other helper did not feel comfortable taking the rest to the beach by herself. The friend felt that it was a huge responsibility and if one of those at the beach needed something as simple as a trip to the bathroom, the rest could not have been left unsupervised.

Sometimes those who are so quick to blame and point fingers just have no concept of the coordination and planning it takes with larger families. Rarely do you do spur of the moment things. We have big charts on one wall in the kitchen just to make sure we keep track of who needs to be where, which adult is doing transportation duty, etc.

My blogging time (on this blog - I don't go elsewhere) comes from how much time I spend in the car, waiting to pick up a child. I don't do just "sitting" very well, lol. Hubby and I email each other, as well as texting throughout the day, as reminders. Other helpers when they are used, get the same texting, etc. We have a large family by choice, multiples by the grace of God, and we take care of them to the best of our abilities. My nightmares are usually that I am afraid I will forget to pick up a child, or forget to get them to an arranged lesson.

  91. I forgot to add how grateful I was that they showed the footage of Kate having low blood sugar meltdown. It is a horrible side effect of PCOS and makes you really cranky and snappish. I am hoping it will give a slight insight as to why her moods turn sometimes. I can tell you just how horrible you feel plus she still continued on and got the kids food before she ate! Her kids have it too as do mine so I think its a predestined body condition and the PCOS makes it worse. Not everyone I know with pcos has it as severe as I do....but Kate apparently does..yet another reason I identify with her.

  92. Angelsmama~so funny you should mention that comment. Because after I saw what I wrote in print I was thinking the exact same thing! But it's still true, I appreciate not only Linda but everyone that is so loyal to reading and commenting on this blog. It does mean the world to me since I'm the first to say I'm sensitive about that stuff! ;)

Good morning everyone! Late night it was! Went to go see SATC2 My2girls! I know you loved it, me, not so much. It's hard to watch THAT much fantasy in one shot. Is it worth the $10.50 though..absolutely lol

Todays fresh paper comes coutesy of the dopey troll that e-mailed me asking about the refrences to FRESH PAPER! I mean seriously, you don't get it? Why exactly are you and the other thousand trolls visiting my site then? It obviously realtes to keeping comments from getting stale and losing readers. It more about a fresh conversation, and in those cases I tend to make it more mentally stimulating by adding imaginary scents. Do you remember Legally Blond where Cher spritzed her resume with perfume to give it that "extra something?" I love to relate things to movies so ponder that for a bit!

Everyone else that didn't need that stupid memo...onto the FRESH PAPER! Scent of the day will be floral for those that aren't into the yummy food smells like me..Im thinking Lavender, Rose, & Orchid!
