Will Kate Gosselin Survive This Week With The Tango? "Im Not A Quitter"

Kate Gosselin is a busy woman these days. She's going back and forth between Pennsylvania and Los Angeles, trying to raise her eight children, putting out a new book, getting ready for a new television series, and trying to learn dances to perform on Dancing With The Stars. Later tonight, we will see her perform a tango with her partner. Over the weekend, she was seen out in Pennsylvania. She needed to get her nails done. That was her last stop before jumping on a plane to be in Los Angeles for today's show. As for the custody suit with her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin - that is still making news. Kate's attorney still claims that Jon's case is full of holes, and he is trying to get it tossed out of court completely. Her attorney has stated the following: "There is no 'Jon Gosselin' exception to the Pennsylvania [law]." TMZ has the full set of legal documents filed by Jon Gosselin here. What do you think? Should his case be thrown out? Are you rooting for Kate on Dancing With The Stars this week?

Kate Gosselin's 'difficult' struggle balancing work and motherhood: 'It's tough, but I won't quit': NYDailyNews.com

Kate Gosselin gives a whole new meaning to working mom. In between balancing her stint on "Dancing with the Stars," being a mother to eight children and dealing with a custody battle with her ex-husband, the frazzled reality star says this time in her life has been "very difficult."

"I can't put my life aside and dance for six hours a day," Gosselin, 35, told E! Online from a New York dance studio. "It's not my lack of ability, but lack of presence. I struggle with this every day." She added, "I have determination. I will not quit! It's tough, but I am not a quitter."And for the reality mom, that means not giving up despite the harsh criticism she receives every week from the "DWTS" judges. "I take just their constructive criticism parts. I'm pretty used to taking criticism in general. I have to feel good about the dance and myself," said Gosselin, whose new TLC show "Twist of Kate" was announced on Thursday. Her children also have positive thoughts about her performances, despite not comprehending her recent paso doble routine to Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi.""They didn't understand the storyline, but they understand who the paparazzi are," she said, adding that they don't always get to watch her live on the show. "The kids fall asleep before I get to dance. One child asked me, 'Can you please dance earlier?'" She continued, "They worry about what I look like. They say Tony looks good. They say I look beautiful." In an effort to ease her nerves and work around her hectic schedule, Gosselin's dance partner, Tony Dovolani, said he is trying "everything in my arsenal."

"A dance teacher needs to understand the psyche and bring out the best in the student. I strongly believe in her," he told E! "The very first words she said on our show was, 'I want to win.' I told her today that I still see the possibility of her winning."

  3. BM - Starpulse.com has a nice article about Kate not being a diva, etc.

Isn't it amazing that all the negative junk is from people without the courage to use their names. Or they are just made up stories.

We've had both co-hosts, Erin, Shannon, and Pam saying she's nice and not a diva.

  5. Sorry to say, people will be watching for Kate and not that crap. Sorry

  6. You know, I could totally see Kate going far in DWTS, bc she's obviously getting a lot of fan votes. At some point, getting closer to the end, people do actually start voting for the best dancer, but idk...this season is pretty topsy-turvy! What if she really did win it all?!?!?!??!

    ReplyDelete
  7. I hope TLC, the production crew, SAG, and a host of others will be there also.

Interesting. April 14th was the original date for the TLC vs Jon court date.

I hope Gloria Allred is there because of caring, and not just for the cameras.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I hate that DWTS starts at 8PM. Too early for me and then I have to watch it from the beginning (DVR) and try to catch up during commercials. :(

  9. My only concern with this hearing about child labor laws is whether or not all parties have had advance notice and are able to be involved if they choose to. I am all for a clear set of guidelines to protect kids as long as they are based on evidence and not opinions. For instance guidelines about children needing adequate rest and schooling are based on factual evidence, it's not just someone saying I don't like kids on reality tv, they are being exploited. I would also like to see some guidelines in place on paparazzi's behavior in vicinity of children. It is one thing for them to stand on an edge of the parking lot and shoot photos it is another to shout derogatory comments to a parent in front of them, such as "are you getting a job at Mac Donalds, or did Kate do such and such to you" or to be in the kids' faces where they are having to trip over paparazzi and paparazzi are sticking the cameras in the car.

    ReplyDelete
  10. That hearing should be interesting. I hope we are able to see video of it afterwards somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  11. There isn't any paparazzi anymore. Just the INFphoto guy that shoots pics for TLC to release for RadarOnline.

This is more of a political hearing than anything else. Murt is up for reelection. But it may get the ball rolling. The wheels of justice move slowly, but once they begin to turn they are difficult to stop.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Here DWTS starts at 7pm, and I am excited for Kate. I hope she isn't scheduled for exit interviews already. I really liked her new blog on tlc about how much the kids liked her hodgepodge dinner. I find that sometimes dinners like that are the best. It reminded me of how she says the kids eat ice cream for dinner once a summer. Breana still remembers when we did that when she was about 6, she forgets that we had a great big lunch around 2 in the afternoon and really didn't need dinner.

  13. Tasha, they have known for almost a year this was coming. I think that's enough notification:

In May 2009, the state’s Labor Department said the Bureau of Labor Law Compliance would investigate child-labor complaints against "Jon & Kate Plus 8" after concerns were raised about working conditions for the eight Gosselin children in Wernersville, Pa.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Kate is on and she looks beautiful. I guess they wanted a different look for her, very nice!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sorry I have been MIA, I haven't even had a chance to catch up on all the comments...

I did have to say that I think tonight it is the best she has looked, I think they finally got a good combination of costume and hair, now maybe/hopefully she will look a little better with the dancing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Jessica~ miss you, how are you? FYI the voting lines are open! 1800-868-3410 Vote now if you can.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Wow, Kate looks great tonight. Go Kate and Tony. Please relax and just dance. We are all cheering for you.

I have already done all my votes, 3 phones and 2 emails addresses. Yippee.

    ReplyDelete
  18. The hearing is not a government agency disciplinary hearing nor a hearing on TLC's past behavior. I am sure it will be sensationalized because it is related to the Gosselins but notice it is a:

hearing of the House Republican Policy Committee

The policy committees listen to a whole bunch of testimony. They will either posture, grab headlines and do nothing or they will posture, grab headlines, and draft legislation that may or may not be passed. It seems unlikely they will prohibit all children from ever appearing in reality television so I expect they will establish guidelines for hours of filming.

I am sure TLC will comply with any laws that come out of all this because they will be under scrutiny.

  19. I love Kate, but I felt bad that Erin tried so hard and did not get stellar scores, so I gave her one vote. I haven't seen Kate yet, but I hope does okay and doesn't get like 3s or something terrible like that.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Knowing about a hearing some day in the future, Denise, is quite different from actually knowing a specific date.

Good comments PAR. Thanks for the info. I'd somehow gotten the impression from JW that this was the state revue of their codes. I didn't realize at all that this was a Republican party deal.

While most of us here want what's best for the children, some just seem to want sensationalism of negativity directed at the Gosselins. I do hope that somebody, anybody, asks the nefarious if she's testifying to direct observances or previous hearsay from Jon.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I voted! Go Kate! She looks great tonight. Erin's dance was pretty good. Deserved better scores than she got. Looks like the judges are going to be tough again.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ouch! Looking at Erin's and Niecy's scores, oh my. Doesn't make it easier. I'm biting my nails, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The scores are a little rough tonight. I am concerned for Kate. I think the judges are too hard on her anyway. No, she is not a good dancer, but she is trying. That should count for something.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Baby Mama, thanks for asking. Everything is good, it was spring break for my oldest last week and he went to CO with Grandma, my husband has been working absolutely crazy hours the past week, so it pretty much left me to deal with the 2 little ones by myself... it was exhausting! I need a vacation...by myself :)

It will probably take the rest of the week for me to catch up on all things Gosselin :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. Are you kidding me? They had nothing good to say about Nicole's dance tonight, but she got those high scores. I don't get it. Talk about us trying to keep Kate on, I think the judges are little fishy also. I am pretty p*****. about that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kate will use Jon's request for custody on her 2 left feet again.

Give votes for talent,,,,,not pity votes.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well I will give my votes for whom ever I choose and for what ever reason I opt for.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The Bachelor looked like he really hurt himself.. I loved his dance actually him & Neicy were my favorites, when he almost fell my stomach was in my mouth.

Kate is next..now I feel sicker than before with nerves for that woman...She looks great though! If anyone says she looks bad are just "jellus" haters ;)

    PRAY PEOPLE, WE NEED PRAYER!

  29. WOW...WOW...WOW

I am at a loss for words...she actually looked like she was dancing! Not the best, but SOOOOO much better!

  31. WTH with the 4 Carrie Ann?

Stupid Ass judges...at least she has her fans!

    ReplyDelete
  32. OMG!!! Thank You, so much better. The judges were nice, but their scores were crap. Damn judges, I am gonna campaign to have them removed. LOL :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. BabyMama, The prayers worked. I thought she did a wonderful job. She actually looked like she was having fun. Thank you Tony for your words sweet words. Kate needs a positive male in her life.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kate still can't dance very well but she was much, much better. Tony is a great teacher.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wow! What an improvement! Certainly not a proficient dancer, but wow her best yet. At least the judges didn't beat her up with their comments.

Kate you looked like you were really having fun for the first time!

Stay or boot, it was such a fantastic effort. Kudos to Tony.

This week when US made up stuff about Tony, I think he understood what Kate experiences from jerks. I'm sorry for the pain he experienced. They looked like a dancing couple!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. No she can't dance very well, but she TRIED! She looked like she was having fun for the first time. I hope everyone votes..there goes my phone again!

    ReplyDelete
  37. WOW!! I felt bad for giving Erin one vote after Kate's performance so I signed up two more email addresses to make up for it and got my mom to vote woth hers. She did awsome for a non dancer. She actually DANCED!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. MUCH better! Yay Kate! She looked so happy!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was only allowed 6 calls on my cell # and I think 8 on the house phone. Anyone else having issues? ( i got the recording saying reached my limit )

    ReplyDelete
  40. LMAO....GWOP is officially speechless... They had no negative comments from the judges tonight to fuel their fire and they are clearly incapable of thinking their own thoughts..so no one has anything negative to say about her tonight. It's kind of funny that the only bad things the trolls ever have to say about Kate are things they've heard elsewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  41. tiggerfan- I did, but I hung up and called right back and it went through. It happened last week also.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Honestly, I almost cried, I was soooo proud of the EXCELLENT IMPROVEMENT tonight!! I had the biggest smile on my face! She MOVED! She DANCED! She had FUN!!!! The whole time I was thinking, please judges, have nice things to say, I can't be crazy thinking this is good!!! And they did! I was shocked!

    Gooooooooo Kate!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I read the first 20 pages of Kate’s new book! It was really interesting and I’m glad it is set up like Multiple Blessings and not Eight Little Faces. I’m excited for it to come out (so I can take a break from school reading lol). Anyone else have plans to read it?

  45. AMAZING!! Great job tonight Tony and Kate!!

    HOW TO VOTE
NOTE TIME CHANGE:Voting open Monday from the start of the show until 11am Eastern/8am Pacific Tuesday

  46. Kate... I admire you. It takes guts and determination to keep going on day after day being under constant fire. I vote for you every week and it was so great to see you smile and have fun while dancing. I hope you make it through to next week and continue to enjoy what you are doing!!!

    GOOD LUCK! HANG IN THERE!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I missed it we've been crazy busy in my crazy house :) I'll catch it online later. Yay, glad to hear she looked like she was having fun. Thanks for the nice posts ladies, I was being a bit sarcastic that day. I think I'm a pretty good mom, not perfect but who is? Being a parent is the hardest job in the world, and everyone does it differently. It's sad when people feel they have the right to judge other's.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yes tiggerfan. You are right. The online voting and text voting is the same. 1 vote x the number left.

    ReplyDelete
  49. P.S.I just gave our girl all my votes ;0

    ReplyDelete
  50. Kate,
I watch DWTS but I never vote. Tonight I voted for you. I was SO thrilled for you, you looked so happy and you really made a breakthrough. Keep up the good work, I actually cried from happiness (ok, it may have been part PMS, but part of it was happiness I'm sure) Best of luck!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. So happy to see Kate improve and not look so uncomfortable. For the first time I was not embarrased or horrified for her ha. NO hot mess this time. Go Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Momsby. She made a 95% improvement. I can't wait for you to see it. Even my hubby was clapping. She should sleep with a huge smile on her face tonight. The judges said really nice things but the scores were terrible. Nicole's dance was ok, the judges thought her dance was bad, but gave her huge scores.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I have to post again - because I found myself actually clapping as they finished! My husband and I both commented at the same time - early in the dance - Kate flashed a smile to Tony - and we both said something along the lines of her having a genuine smile and looking like she was enjoying herself.

The toughest dance so far .... and by far her best. Kudos to Tony for helping her 'dance' through this last week.

    ReplyDelete
  54. OMG, she did get better. What a miracle, the judges liked her. They are right, I agree that tonight was her best so far. Her fans will carry her the rest of the way past Aiden, Ocho, and Jake. I do hope Nicey get s allot of votes too.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Shelly, none of the judges thought Nicole's dance was "bad". Bruno said she was beautiful to watch but sometimes she was hesitant, and he wanted more sexy hip action. Carrie Ann said she was nervous, but liked her traditional lines. And Len said she got the balance right between technique and performance, but had to work on her arms. No one even said the word bad! We must be watching different shows LOL.

As for Kate, she would have gotten another point from Carrie Ann if they'd left out that lift at the end...automatic deduction, Carrie Ann is a stickler when it comes to lifts.

I was surprised at Kate's practice footage. She said basically "that's how I've been living for two years, every day I wake up and check the news to see what hell I'm gonna go through." (Has it been TWO YEARS?) Then Tony said "if you fail this week, HE wins." Mommy vs. Daddy. Not a good thing to say, we know the kids watch, eye-heart-point.

I was also VERY sad she said "I still don't believe in myself". That is not what I want anyone to feel, when they are trying so hard. I know Erin was a cheerleader and Evan is a skater (this was straight from Kate's mouth tonight) but wait a minute, wasn't Kate a cheerleader too? I think I remember that from somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  56. raemi, they renewed their vows in August 2008. That was 20 months ago, how long after that did they break up?
    It was broadcast in October.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Welcome to all my new commenters! I feel such a high from tonight, even if she does leave, she leaves on the highest note. She should feel really proud of all that she accomplished in such a short amount of time. She looked beautiful and for the first time looked so happy at what she had accomplished!

The second time I met Kate I had to buy the book AGAIN, since that particular Barnes & Noble would only let Kate sign books that were purchased that day. (Every B&N apparently has their own store policies) So I have yet to buy the book until I know she wont do a book signing in NYC. If she doesn't, I can't wait to buy it! The prices on my site here is the best out there, and even for that price I think it's worth it no? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  58. BM: E! is now running promos for Kate's in-studio interview on E! News Wednesday.

She did great tonight--very curious to see what happens tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thank you Heather! Enjoying The Soup on E! and falling asleep! Too long and stressful of a day. Glad to relax...Hopefully tomorrow is a good day for all..:)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Whoo Kate!!! She got great reviews 1st time!!! Im grabbing my phones and voting after this post. My husband (who will always give you an honest answer) said WOW that was a great performance, I would have given Kate 10's for performance! That says a lot out of him! Voting now!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Kate did do better, but it was an easy routine and she only went home one day last week. She came home on Friday and left Saturday morning. Guess dancing in the basement didn't work out so well.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Just Wondering,
You are so negative... Seriously, put more time into bettering your own life rather than knocking someone else's. Take my advice. :-) Btw you kind of sound like a creeper to me half the time you write haha. "She came home on Friday and left Saturday morning" (Just Wondering). -That's why. lol

On a happy note: Kate did great! I was shocked her scores were so low! I am not much of a fan of Dancing With the Stars... It's too drawn out for me, but I am watching to support Kate. I probably won't watch this show again once Kate gets voted off (or wins), but it was good to be able to understand why my family enjoys it.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Her scores reflected the routine. It was an easy routine so she received low scores. I said she did better - what more do you want?

    ReplyDelete
  64. "but it was an easy routine"
You negate a sentence when you put "but" in there. However, I do applaud you for saying she did better. I think so too!

    ReplyDelete
  65. It irks me so - and I feel so bad for anyone - who's words are taken and such face value and then picked apart.

Kate did say '2 years' - and I thought about that for a minute. It's been over a year - but not quite 2 - since the media really started staying on top of their every move --- however - the end of the prior years show was the real "kick off" to all of that. (The couch interviews with Jon saying he wasn't sure he wanted to stay on TV and Kate saying they would continue). Considering the time lapse between when those interviews were taped and then aired are separated by a couple of weeks - then yes, it has been 2 years.

On another note - I have started to feel bad for Neicy. Her very first dance was very good - but her follow up dances haven't been so great. I don't know if the 'dedications' have put her under more mental/emotional pressure or what - but even in the clips where you see her throughout the show - she just doesn't seem happy, or relaxed so much. And her dances have suffered for it. :(

    ReplyDelete
  66. I meant to add in that first paragraph that it 'irks' me because sometimes WE (making sure everyone knows that I admit to doing it at times myself - and yes, I "irk" myself when I do it! LOL) don't stop and think it through first!!!! (Like I said above - my initial thought was 'what is she talking about? 2 years? Maybe it just SEEMS like 2 years to her?? -- but after thinking about it - I realized she may have felt the pap/news change long before Jon's indiscretions started coming out)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Oh my - have to add this, too. Funny story.....

So - my son came in to see Kate and Tony dance (he'd been working on a school project so hadn't been watching the whole show with us last night). After he watched the dance he was like "Whoah! That was awesome! Is that REALLY Kate?" Then - he was like, "Hey, wait a minute. Can you hit the rewind and let me see that ending again in slow motion? Did Tony just swing her around and make her look really good? It HAD to be Tony!" - So - we slow mo'd back through it and saw Kate do the swing/flip/twist and we were all -- at the same time -- going "Coooooool!" I think we were all shocked for a second time on how well she did that ending - and that it appeared to be a pretty tough move! (although - if I understand the 'lift' thing right - that ending was the 'lift' that Carrie Ann deducts points for?)

We all also agreed that Kate LOOKED her best last night. 2 thumbs up on her costuming, hair and makeup!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Kate told Jon the marriage was over in October, 08. They moved shortly after that and Jon lived over the garage. He began seeing other women in early 2009. It's been one year since the media circus began.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 1. Disagree. The Gosselin "Controversy" started at the conclusion of the season finale' that ended in spring of 2008 when it appeared they were at odds about wether or not to continue the show.

  70. Hope, I have an email from Jason Hummel from April 2009 from when Jon was secretly seeing Deanna. He had only been seeing her for a couple of months. There was only the picture of him with the co-eds before that.

  71. Kate quote from her book:

"Where I lived, the career mom was not normal, but in New York it was. It was good to fit in. I’ve learned to talk to my kids on the phone and love them from afar, reminding myself that I had to do my job. I truly enjoy the campaigns, books, shows, media.”

    ReplyDelete
  72. About Nicey, I feel like she is having a hard time to! If she can just concentrate on her moves , instead of all this emotions, I think she could do better. Also, those fake eyelashes should go, they are too big and she looks like she is quinting to see past them. Sorry Nicey but get a smaller pair.

    ReplyDelete
  73. just wondering said...
Hope, I have an email from Jason Hummel from April 2009 from when Jon was secretly seeing Deanna. He had only been seeing her for a couple of months. There was only the picture of him with the co-eds before that.

    ==========

    And your point is?

What I stated - and will reiterate, (oops big word - let me change that) --What I stated - and will try to tell you again in a more simpler form - is that the 'Gosselin controversy' and media attention started when the season in 2008 ended with Jon clearly inferring he did not want to continue the show and Kate inferring that the show would continue. The media attention changed at THAT point. Did it get even worse after the photos of Jon at the bars? Yes - but that's NOT when it started.

    ReplyDelete
  74. If this started THAT long ago, WHY did they renew their vows and PROMISE to those children in August 2008. 20 months ago?

    ReplyDelete
  75. JustWondering~ Sorry under no circumstances are you allowed to quote from a trash hate blog. That idiot cut and pasted one comment about each kids to attack her and make her look like a bad moter. Obviously someone that does not have young children nor know what it is like to actually BE a mother.

And for that matter, what the heck are you doing with e-mails from Jason Hummel. Who would believe a low-life like that regardless?

Denise~ Alot of people renew their vows in the hopes of working on their relationships and it has worked for alot of people including myself! But obviously it doesn't work for everyone. I truly feel at the time they did what they thought would be a important step towards repairing a stressful marriage. I wouldn't look to much into it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Hope, I think there was an answer to Kate's lawyer's motion. I saw somewhere (don't remember where) that all filings are going to be done in the Berk's County courthouse from now on, where Jon's lawyer filed. I'm not sure if that is the end of it or if Jon's lawyer still needs to re-file proper papers.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Sorry, BM. J&K wanted to go to Hawaii and TLC said they would pay for the trip if they would renew their vows for the show. Said it would get super ratings. J&K did not want to renew their vows but they DID want the vacation so they caved in and went along with the plan. Jon was already sleeping in the basement by then.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Regarding DWTS...

LOL #1caregiver! Yes! Niecy needs to lose those eyelashes. They look too heavy for her and I think she needed a romantic inspiration for her dance, not thoughts of her dead brother. It came across as sad and just didn't work.

What was with all the toga-like costumes? I love Ochocinco and Cheryl together. They are adorable. I thought Aiden did so well as far as his attitude. He is adorable. I love that he doesn't seem conceited. Too bad is dancing wasn't up to par.

Now Kate... She looked so much better. The soft makeup works much better and so did the dress. She also danced a lot better too. This was definitely her best. And she seemed much more relaxed. She seemed to walk a lot and when she spins Tony is spinning her, she's not actually spinning herself.

It was weird how the judges were so negative to mostly everyone else yet gave them good scores. With Kate they were so positive yet gave them low scores. I think they deserved the scores though because they didn't do as well as everyone else so they should be at the bottom. Kate didn't look happy and Tony actually said he thought they'd get higher. Why do a lift if you know you're not supposed to? Why do they do it? I don't get it. Anyway....

I also thought they shouldn't have aired the scene where Kate was discussing custody and Tony said "he" would win if Kate didn't do well. It was just in poor taste knowing that the kids watch the show. I know ABC aired it and Tony and Kate probably have no control over what they showed, but they knew they were being filmed.

I say Kate or Jake or Aiden go home tomorrow night.

  79. Can't wait until Kate has to learn TWO dances in a week! That should be hilariously hilarious!

  80. SG.. I think it will be Jake or Aiden, too.

  81. just wondering,

While I happen to agree with you, I think the problem may be that you dash in, post something and state it as a well-known fact, but don't offer the explanation or proof of why you write what you do.

I too feel the vow renewal wasn't just a vow renewal... I also know that there were things that all added up that in my mind made it obvious when I added it all up but I can't remember what they were. lol.

I also think their marriage was "over" already when they bought the new house.

  82. JW, you asked what more do we want. Personally, I would vote for you taking your negativity elsewhere. There are plenty of people out there who would lap it up. It gets old and tiresome here.

So you are so into Jon and Kate that you actually emailed the brother of one of his girlfriends - do you have any clue how pathetic that sounds? Besides I have about as much respect for Jason Hummel as I do Jodie Krieder - NONE. Making accusations about family members in tabloids for money is sleezy.

My opinion on how things went down:

    - the marriage was very rocky by August of 2008 when they filmed the Hawaii show. Jon was unhappy and TLC was trying to placate him -he was the one who wanted to take the kids to see his family in Hawaii (though no doubt Kate wanted to go but her ideal beach trip to the kids would have been on the east coast).
    - Jon's unhappiness grew with Kate traveling and his being full time Daddy but he rejected any suggestions for him to get a part time job, do volunteer work, or go back to school
    - Kate got fed up around October and did say something along the lines of "I don't know why I married you" (Jon has never said she said the marriage was over at that point)
    - the new house that was purchased was another way to placate Jon and try to ensure he honored the remainder of the contract. I always felt that was not the house Kate would have selected if it been solely up to her - she would want a grand house but not all the extra land. In October 2008, the land was meant to be Jon's playground and pacifer.
    - They both gave up on the marriage at the end of 2008. Kate may not have expected him to be faithful after that point but she did expect him to honor the TLC contract which would preclude being seen in public with other women.
    - It seems like Jon started going to bars and meeting women in February of 2009 or thereabouts. After the initial photos of him with Deanna, Jon was brought into line by TLC and did a few public apologies or whatever.
    - The craziness began when Jon was photographed with Hailey and her mother in New Jersey. That was also when Jon got tons of bad advice from Hailey, Lohan, the Hellers, etc.
    - When kate filed for divorce in June, the press and photographers had been following the family for a couple months by then.

  83. IMO - Neicy's dance last night should've received lower scores then Tony and Kate's dance.

Just my opinion - but I just think Neicy's was the worst of the night overall.

I also feel like Jake (and I don't personally care for him) has shown a lot of improvement - and felt really bad when he tripped last night.

  84. Regarding Kate saying "two years", the season finale aired March 23, 2009. That's only a year ago. Jon didn't get "busted" with Deanna until May 2009. The paps didn't start in on them until Jon was seen with Deanna and different college girls around the same time.

I think Kate slipped and it's because they were having marital problems for a long time before that. The marriage collapsed in October 2008, but I think it was going downhill fast way before that. And by what Kate said on DWTS it was probably at least six months before that.

I think it's going to be hard to keep the truth hidden much longer. IMO.

  85. She got all my votes too...as usual!!
She's improving, you can tell :) GO KATE!!

  86. Hope, I think Jake's shoe slipped because it went forward like when you step on a polished floor. He didn't recover well... but I thought he did so well when he danced down the steps!

  87. The statements about 2 years was , I believe, referring to the length/period of time when people first started recognizing them. Regardless - 20 months of this agony. Let's see if we can't split some more hairs. It was a rehearsal conversation.

If Kate had said 1 year, then you could have jumped up and said, No way 'cause it's been longer than that. Do you in having a conversation, stop and count the exact months before you answer? How about we demand months, weeks, days, hours, and minutes?? Nope, not good enough cause she didn't count seconds also. Wait, we'll add the doggone seconds and synchronize to Grenwich Mean Time.

Let's pick some more. Her arrival and departure home. Last week she went home from NY and then back the next day. But instead you ripped that apart.

Now you want to split hairs over interviews on Today and The View. HELLO! It's Jon's visitation time. We have those who rant about mean Kate stopping Jon's visitation without saying he was too busy with flavor of the time to be there. Then Jon's there.(Hurrah long overdue.) In the same blog you criticize Kate for not being home. You can't have it both ways. For months in her non-visitation time Kate stayed in a local hotel.

Snipe, pick, rant, rave. Please take your garbage to another blog.

  88. SG - I agree! The steps thing was very cool - and had to be tough to do!

  89. I don't doubt that Kate and Jon may have been having marital issues long before Jon started stepping out.

However, being someone who's lived through a divorce - I can tell you that I can honestly say that while I knew we had 'issues' - my husbands infidelity and the timing of our separation and such - was not on my radar of possibility when it happened. So I can totally understand why Kate's responses were as they were. Yes, we had problems. Did I think (at the time) that he was really to the point of seeing someone else, moving out/moving on and ready to 'end' our family? I really didn't. So, based on my own experience, I guess I give a little more benefit of the doubt that maybe it all fell apart in a way that Kate didn't see really on the horizon. (I know I could be completely wrong! Without being personally connected to the family and really knowing what was going on - there is no real way to ever know)

  90. Good Morning Everyone! I did a new post..theres nothing like fresh smelling paper in the morning! lol Kate's dance from last night is above, and Kate's Interview on the Today show is on the new post..

So much to talk about so I decided to divide it. Carry on!

Schmecky~ I was saying before too how much I loved Jake's dance before he slipped. After that he just couldn't get it together. I felt so bad!

  91. Raemi- "Bad" was just a word I used. But, the judges were not all over her this week, about her greatness. Just like last week when she broke the rules, she still got good scores. That is what I meant. I think the judges are partial to certain people and they get the good votes. PERIOD!

About the 2 year comment, maybe Kate was speaking of the fact that is when the paps and GWOP started reporting their every move. I do not think she meant just the stuff with Jon. Julie's blog (Jodi's sister) started in June 2008. GWOP's first post about the Gosselins' was 4/29/2008. So, the attacks against Kate have been happening for about two years now.

  92. Hope, Linda, thanks for your comments. I literally cringed when she said the "2 years" comment because I knew we would have to hear all about it. I knew people would come in and say that she slipped and that she has been lying. Truth is, she could have meant it the way Hope said, that she knew they had issues to deal with but not to the extent that Jon was cheating, etc. Or she could have been using hyperbole in her chat with Tony. When I talk I don't always mean things to be counted as an exact statement. For example, I might say I haven't done something in a year, when it's really been 7 months. Or that I did something just a couple of months ago, when really, it was 5.
Bottom line is, in my opinion, she has proven over and over that she is straight forward.

  93. Shelly, another great comment about the 2 year time line, thanks!
