Kate Winds Down Book Tour, Has Sadness For Jon, Cara & Mady Celebrate A Milestone!

USWEEKLYMAGAZINE.COM: Kate Gosselin and Jon Gosselin's days as lovably cranky TLC sweethearts with a telegenic brood of eight feel like ancient history -- and, over three years since their marriage bitterly imploded, Kate, 38, claims she harbors no ill will towards her ex-husband, 36. Jon, for one, recently came out of the woodwork to reveal his new, humble life working as a waiter at a restaurant and living in a rustic cabin in rural Pennsylvania -- and briefly lashing out at a photographer by brandishing a handgun. Welcoming Kate on her talk show, Bethenny Frankel asked her pointblank of Jon: "Has he snapped? Do you still love him?"
"Somebody once told me that if you feel sadness and empathy and pity for someone the root of that is love," Kate replied. "I feel like the person that I married nearly overnight was not that person anymore," she said, looking back on their days in the spotlight. The former Jon and Kate Plus 8 star told Frankel -- no stranger to bitter marital disputes and custody battles -- the strict arrangement she and Jon have worked out. "Without going into to much detail we are making the best of it. I definitely want them to know that I did not want to hinder or stand in the way of that relationship with him," she explained.
"So I do everything I can to foster that because it is important and you have to have the ability to remove judgement and ugliness from that. The best thing for my kids is that I give them the opportunity and the ability to continue that relationship. When they are older if they don't want to do it anymore or whatever decisions they make that is their business. For now, my job is to foster that bond." Frankel also grilled the Dancing with the Stars alum on her changed appearance -- and speculation about plastic surgery. "I did have a tummy tuck," she said simply. Where did Kate's money from reality TV fame go? " The majority of what we made, I, personally took and put in a college fund for them because they will go to college. So I use coupons, we don't wear the top brands," she said. "Those things to me really aren't overly important but college, school and their house, where they live is important.

Kate Gosselin signs copies of her book at Staten Island bookstore

NEW SPRINGVILLE -- When Howie Silverman got married two years ago, he had never heard of the hit reality-TV show "Jon & Kate Plus 8." But that soon changed when, at the suggestion of his bride, Andrea, the lovebirds binge-watched the series.Howie was transformed into a hardcore fan. "It was the first show we watched together," said the couple.
They had just met the show's star, Kate Gosselin, at the Barnes & Noble in New Springville, where the mother of eight signed copies of her new cookbook, "Love Is in the Mix," which includes some of her family's favorite recipes. "I can openly admit to wanting to come meet her now," said Howie after receiving his autographed copy. "My wife turned me into a Kate Gosselin fan." About 50 devotees flocked to the bookstore on Tuesday evening to meet the reality-TV star, caught in a vortex of controversy since she filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against her ex-husband, Jon. She has accused him of hacking into her personal information to gather material for his tell-all book. She said her Staten Island session afforded her relief from some of the negative attention she has received over the last few months. "It brings a balance with the ugly rumor mill that seems to be turned by the people out there who aren't so positive," said Ms. Gosselin. "I know I have a good, supportive and wholesome fan base. It's really inspiring." As for her twins and sextuplets, Ms. Gosselin said they're all doing "marvelous," and are currently enjoying the start of the school year. "They're all happy, normal kids."

Jon And Kate Gosselin’s Twin Daughters Hit Their "Terrible Teens"

Get ready for some hormones in the Gosselin household — twins Mady and Cara are officially teenagers! Proud mom Kate Gosselin announced their birthday via Twitter, plus her plans for a huge celebration. But truly worthy of celebration is the fact that the twins won’t spend their teenage years on the set of Kate Plus 8.
They’ve long been known as the older Gosselin siblings, but that doesn’t stop us from thinking of Mady and Cara as that pair of adorable little girls from Kate Plus 8. They’re no longer all that little though, seeing as their 13th birthday is today! Kate Gosselin marked the occasion this morning with the following announcement: “Happy Birthday to my sweet girls who turn 13 today! Celebrations began last night w the gr8 1D movie!”
Kate’s tweet may be a little misleading. The celebrations actually began this past weekend, for, as the reality star mentioned via social media, “Just sent house full of friends home after a super 13th bday sleepover..Finished ordering bday gifts from lists->hope they arrive fast!”
Between a birthday sleepover, a fantastic movie night and further celebrations to come, this proud mama is intent on spoiling her teenage daughters! But they deserve it, having made it through the chaos of reality television without any major meltdowns. And now that they’re mostly out of the public eye, we hope that Mady and Cara will be able to enjoy all the normal highs and lows of adolescence — without the interference of TV cameras!
We’d like to wish Mady and Cara Gosselin a very happy 13th birthday! Feel free to share your best wishes for these lovely young women in the comments section below!

  1. Oh boy, Kate is in for a ride, teenagers are a handful. 'D take colicky babies and toddler tantrums any day over adolescent attitudes any day. I am so excited for the people like Paige who have recently gotten to meet Kate

  2. I like how the person who wrote the article about Mady and Cara say they are very glad the girls are "mostly out of the public eye" bring them back into the public eye with their article. Oh the hypocrisy.

I am very glad to see the fans are shown more in the media as opposed to the hatred. I try to stay away from the comments section and stay focused on the positive attention Kate is receiving. Hope everyone is doing well.

  3. hello kate and the kids I live in Netherlands and watch your program every day to TLC.
I think you have great fun with kids also does admiration because now you only need to do and I know how hard it is, I also long to educate my children alone but I had only three children you have 8 children and that quite a lot of work seems to me though I know you love to do that you radiate also great.
still a lot of luck and have fun with everything you do

  4. I'm glad Kate and the children are doing good. I think many of you will agree that we only want happiness, good health and happiness for all of them. I had to laugh about the article about Mady and Cara because they all lived a "normal" life even with the cameras and in fact many of the children have said they miss it. I got two copies of Kate's cookbook, one will be a Christmas gift. I love the book, the recipes, stories and photos in it. The recipes I've tried so far have been delicious and yes even my grandchildren love what I've made for them from Kate's book. Everyone I've seen on Twitter who have tried Kate's recipes have really enjoyed them and they have all said their families loved the meals. What better testimony can you get when it's been tried out and so many love the book and the recipes? The book is a wonderful gift to her children so when they are grown they can use the same recipes their mom (Kate) made for them when they were young. There isn't too many children get that kind of lifetime gift of love that can be handed down from generation to generation.

I agree Tashapork that I would rather deal with the sleepless nights, colic, diapers, crying etc. than dealing with teenagers like Kate will be experiencing throughout all 8 of the children's teen years. She definitely will have her hands full won't she? lol I hope and pray that all is well with my blog friends here:)

  5. I am seriously considering ordering Kate's cookbook as our eating habits have taken a gradual, but big change for the healthier. It's amazing how we are noticing how much of wn impact foods have on us. While I always admired that Kate fed her kids healthy, I always thought she got a little carried away, but now I see it differently
