Promptly Handled Kate Gosselin Cruise, Happiest 8th Birthday For The Sextuplets!

Jon Gosselin DJs Middle School Prom: Radaronline.com

We don't want to say his career has gone to Pottsville....but Saturday night Jon Gosselin was the DJ for a middle school prom in Pottsville, PA. The father-of-eight and a former Jon & Kate Plus 8 star has a day job, working in construction, but last night Gosselin proved he also has a talent for spinning records. The 35-year-old was spotted at D.H.H Langel Middle School where he and his current squeeze – Liz Jannetta – kept the party going for the 13 and 14-year-olds.One of the kids exclusively tells that he gives JD Jon eight out of ten for his skills. “He played Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and Rihanna and he took requests. He was nice and I had a good time.” Our source even said he would go to another party with Jon as the DJ. Kate Gosselin's former spouse didn't just please the 100 teenage partygoers – a near impossible feat – he also charmed their moms. One mother was there when Jon and Liz arrived at 5:30 pm, an hour before the prom started. She says: “When they walked in, one of the moms went up to him and asked: ‘Are you Jon Gosselin?’ And he said: ‘Yes I am’. The next thing you know everyone started taking pictures. He was polite and smiling.”

As we previously reported
, Jon's new girlfriend has three kids of her own. “People might think it’s crazy to add her three kids to the mix, but it has been great," he said."Liz is a part time DJ and she got the gig for the prom," a source tells us exclusively. "Jon is very proud of her and was happy to be there to help her out."
And later, Jon himself tweeted about the event. "here with gf Liz. She is Djing for Prom. Company is HiTech. Just saying," Jon wrote to his followers. The theme of last night's prom was One Sweet Night – a farewell to the middle school years – and by all accounts Jon seemed to help the evening live up to its name

RadarOneline.com: Kate Gosselin's event on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship has been canceled because of poor turnout and low ticket sales. The mother of eight was supposed to set sail from August 12 to August 19 at a rate of $1,900-$3,175 per ticket, but it's no longer happening and all cruise-goers have been fully refunded.
"Yes, that event has been canceled. We just didn't get the turnout that we desired and mutually we agreed that if we didn't get it, we would cancel," President of Luxury Cruises, who merged with the company originally organizing the event, Alice Travel, exclusively told RadarOnline.com.

"All ticket purchasers have been notified and everyone has been refunded. Some have chosen to continue on with the cruise, but everyone was given the choice."But don't be so quick to point the finger at the Kate Plus 8 star, as we're told she felt horrible about canceling the cruise and reached out to everyone who bought tickets!

"Kate asked for everybody's names, addresses and phone numbers and reached out to each one personally," the spokeswoman said. "It was nothing to do with her. We needed to hit certain numbers and they just weren't where they needed to be."It was not revealed how many tickets were actually purchased.

Kate Gosselin Shares Birthday Photos With Fans: Effie Orfanides at Gather.com

Kate Gosselin and her brood celebrated the 8th birthday of her sextuplets on Thursday. The family had a low-key day at home, swimming and enjoying time together. The children opened presents and ate cake, and according to their mom, they had a great day.

Kate wrote a blog post on her website about this big birthday. It seems as though each year that passes, Kate realizes just how lucky she and her ex-husband, Jon, really are. They have eight happy, healthy, beautiful children. Not every parent is fortunate enough to have healthy multiples... nevermind two sets of healthy multiples. As Leah, Hannah, Alexis, Collin, Aaden, and Joel turn 8, fans of Kate Gosselin and her former reality show think back to where it all began—seeing the footage of Kate in the hospital and of the babies once they were born. However, those memories don't hit anyone harder than they do Kate and Jon. It was such an amazing yet difficult time for them, but they made it through. They now have eight (including twins, Cara and Mady) wonderful faces to be proud of each and every day.

  1. I feel sad for Kate and the others who didn't get to cruise, but in my heart I feel like it was meant to be and in the end will be a blessing. I've had times where things like that have fallen through and later felt that it was divine intervention because either something bad happened at the event or something happened that it was better that I was at home. For instance we were originally supposed to go to New Orleans, it fell through a few months prior or we would have been there during Hurricane Katrina. I hope for something better for Kate and her fans in the future and am sure it will happen.

  2. This is such a shame, but I agree that all things happen for a reason. Last summer my DIL was planning to go to Ohio for a surprise retirement party for her Mom. Well her youngest daughter was diagnosed with diabetes and the trip had to be rescheduled. It turned out that by going a month later, they avoided being caught in some very severe weather. When God closes one door, he opens another. I would have loved going on that cruise and my DH was even willing to go with me---but we never signed up to go.:(

I hope there are many new opportunities in Kate's future.

  3. We would have been one more couple that signed up for the cruise except that the same week we were already schedule to be in NY state for daughter's performances. While I admire Kate, family always comes first.

I also agree with Tashapork and Corrina. Every year in September I'm reminded again that a missed flight from Florida to NY kept us from making a business meeting 9/11 that seemed so very important at the time. It was a blessing that we missed it.

Looking at the Gosselin kids is such a reminder that they are growing so fast. While Kate has the drama/angst of the twins as preteens/teens I can't imagine the drama yet to come of having 6 in the throes of puberty all at the same time.

  4. For those still having trouble posting -- you might try Chrome or Foxfire. I can't help but wonder since Google and MSoft are going head to head if there's some reason that all versions of IE don't work well with Blogger that is owned by Google who also owns Chrome.

    Who knows???

Thanks for the new post Baby Mama.

  5. Hello everyone! I missed you all. I don't know what the heck is going on. I can't even post myself I'm doing this from my phone. I'm pissed that once again the nasty haters are eating this alive. Just when you think everything is quiet they sprout up again. Kate has phoned everyone and I really hope that all the fans meeting pans out. I would love to be there! ;)

  7. Happy Mother's Day to all!!

Corrina - it's funny that I'd decide to conquer my fear of closed spaced (claustrophobia) and do the cruise ... not just to meet Kate but to meet others who were going like Peggy. It would have been fun to be with you too, Corrina. However, when we found out performance dates for our daughter it coincided with the trip, and as I said above, my own family comes first. In my case, probably for the best since the only other cruise I did, at the first stopover I left and caught a flight home, lol.

I think it's incredible that Kate would take the time to call or write every single person who had booked. Maybe Paula Deene did that but I don't think so. (She's had some successful cruises but the first one, I believe was cancelled since there weren't enough signups.) I also wonder if the fact that the cruise line that originally scheduled it was bought by another cruise line had anything to do with it. Also, for those in the Northern US states, school doesn't usually start until after Labor Day, but for Southern US states, school states back mid August so timing wasn't the best for those in the South.

Whatever the reason, It just didn't happen. I still think it will turn out to be a blessing in that something better will come along.

    Again, Happy Mother's Day!!! xoxoxo

  8. Happy Mothers Day to all. School here starts in early August, also isn't that hurricane season. I would absolutely love to go on a cruise to meet Kate and some of her awesome fans, but budget isn't working for me now. My mom is almost 79 and she has a coupl kind of trips that she wants to do before she's too old to enjoy them. We need to save for that. Kate has a lot of class. I hope she's able to so something with her kids this summer. I know they enjoy their trips to Baldhead, I hope they can go.

  9. Linda, you are so right about putting your own family first. You just can't miss your daughter's performance. Maybe we were the lucky ones who didn't sign up due to other plans -- it must be very disappointing for those planning to go on the cruise. I'm so glad you missed that flight to NYC on 9/11.

Tashapork, I forgot about Baldhead Island. That would be a great trip for them. Maybe in the future when the time is right we can all meet Kate.

  12. I thought it was neat that he was DJ for the middle school. For one thing, it gives him some experience with children in that age group. I hope he can maybe do that for a party for his kids in the coming years.

  13. Well, foxfire got me thru here! Crazy blogger. So bummed for Kate over the cruise thing. I agree, I think the time of year was not good...you are correct Linda...here in the south some start back to school as early as first week in August!

Also, the cruise was not made public til January...funds had to be paid by May 15th I believe. For alot of families that was a huge expense and not enough time to save for it! Usually, most folks plan a YEAR AHEAD for a cruise expense.

Economy is still bad as well! Many folks are just strugglin to get outta the hole financially from past couple of years. So I think this has nothin to do with Kate not being a popular enough draw for the cruise. Just bad timing! I hope Kate can maybe do it another year. Would have been so fun for her and the twins!

Lovin the warm weather as it feels better on my body than the cold! Always hopin for a miracle...you too Linda? LOL Well, takin it a day at a time...love, the good days when I get them! Hope you all are doin well!

  14. So happy you were able to get on! Yes sadly Blogger was completely re-camped. I can only use my iPad or I have to use Firefox which I hate. I hate the fact that people couldn't post but at least I finally realized that IE no longer supported Blogger. I decided to start fresh and add a new post early. FRESH PAPER! please follow me onto the new post and please try to comment there. Miss you all what's been happening with everyone?? Xo
