Kate Gosselin Flaunts Her New Body on People! YAY KATE!

She flaunted her body after (eight!) babies on the last season of Dancing with the Stars. But it turns out Kate Gosselin was just getting warmed up. At 35, the reality TV mom says she is now "the most fit I've ever been." How? She credits near-daily runs outside her Wernersville, Penn., home – and she's not afraid to show off the results. "I've worked really hard!" she tells PEOPLE in this week's cover story. "Haven't I earned the right, at this point, to look good?"

While the single mom shoots down incessant tabloid reports linking her to her bodyguard – "It's just absurd," Gosselin says – she does hope her new body will turn some heads. "I'm waiting for Mr. Right. It would be nice if somebody noticed me, sure!"

5 Reason's Why Kate's Bikini Body Makes Moms Mad: Babble.com

Countless women struggle with their bodies, especially their bellies, after having babies. It’s just a fact of life. Your body houses a growing human being for nine plus months and things happen – stretch marks, excess weight, a bit of a paunch. But Kate Gosselin, showing off her new and improved physique on the cover of People, doesn’t have that issue…anymore. And that’s after having EIGHT kids. While many women think it’s all forms of awesome, some (present company included) just get mad. Why? Well here are 5 reasons Kate Gosselin’s bikini bod makes many of us moms mad.
1) She had eight, EIGHT kids. Her first set of twins probably did some damage to her belly, but with how enormous she got after carrying the sextuplets! Wowza. And now there is no trace of the trauma that occurred to her tummy.
2) She got plastic surgery…and it was free! Now not everyone would and could go under the knife, but Kate opted to, she had a whole lot of excess stretched out skin that she had removed, a result of the pregnancies. And since she’s on a TV show, well, a surgeon’s wife saw it, felt sorry for her, and had her hubby do a free tummy tuck!
3) Time to exercise. Kate is seen jogging and working out on a regular basis. Any mom – and in this case a single mom – knows that’s it hard to schedule in making dinner let alone getting in a fitness routine. But Kate, with eight children, finds the time to do just that.
4) The accolades. If you lost a bunch of weight, got totally in shape would you get the cover of a magazine? Yeah, probably not. Why is this woman, who is only famous for being famous, getting a magazine cover of showing off her body? She’s Kate Gosselin! People apparently love to read about her, so she’s news. And you’ve gotten all the way to number four right here…so that just proves our point.
5) Because it’s Kate Gosselin. People love her or hate her. There aren’t many who are familiar with her who don’t have a strong opinion. And most I’ve talked to, well they fall into the latter category. And they’re probably wondering, why is she still here, why is she still famous and why is she on yet another magazine cover.

  2. Ok lets boobie-gate out of the gate...No botox implants ect. Your opinion is your own. But she's putting it out there that there is NONE of the above.

I just have the feeling that this may be rehashed again! lol

  3. Fit, healthy, 35, and totally rocking it!!! Hard work, discipline, eating right, just wow! Gotta run again!

  4. Ohh and I forgot to add.... How many People covers does this make? Like the 5th or 6th one already? Didn't those haters say a year ago and even the last cover ago that Kate's 15 minutes were up? Odd lol

  5. This People cover & the show "Hoarders" are the best things that have happened to me! Now I will want to run while I'm cleaning my house! lol

  6. Baby Mama - got that one in the car. Tooooo funny. I used to save the junk to recycle in the family. Now I just bag up those clean clothes & bundle off. My family wants to know why I walk fast. Can't run with this back brace so gotta walk fast on the way to empty the trash, lol.

  7. I think Kate getting back into shap is great. I was able to get back into shape after my two (only) kids. I definitely didn't have it as hard as other moms but you still have to find time to exercise, eat right, and not feel guilty. My weight goes up and down and it all depends on how committed I am to taking care of myself.

  9. She looks H O T!! You go Hot Mama!! So proud of her...I love "Quints By Surprise" by the way!! They are a cute lil family :-)

  10. My2girls~ Me too! I love the Qunits show but they will never replace the Gosselins. And no I will not get involved in that fan site ;)

I am happy for anyone that can use whatever stroke of luck that came upon on and ran with it. Kate is that person that took a small show and made into the senastion it became. Those that love to hate her are the ones that have kept her on so many covers. She sells it. They should all pat themselves on the back...

  11. SUPER AWESOME NEWS! I'm getting the past 3 episodes back on my site! Check on the previous posts to see all the ones you missed and you can watch them all here again (search by title after tonight) Including a preview here for next weeks show "School Days"!

  12. I think what made Kate a success is that she is honest. She continues to speak her truth and not hide behind a facade. Her honesty leads some people to believe that she is fake. She puts it out there and that threatens people.

I think, that people unfortunately want to hate someone. If the media spins negative stories then people can continue to hate her. Some people also do not want to see others succeed. They want to keep those crabs in a bucket.

  13. I love Hoarders. Shows like Hoarders, Intervention, Obsessed, etc. put a face on mental illness. Unfortunately, after watching the show, some people continue to judge others for their illness, but I think the majority of people get a real understanding of the diseases and motives behind their actions. Hmm, maybe they should have a show about Haters. No, I don’t think it would help me understand their behaviour any better. LOL.

  14. CraftyMomof3, you CAN have a bod like that. Just get on the cover of People Mag and they will photo-shop you. They photoshop everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yes, they photoshopped me into Kate Gosselin and I look amazing ;)

  16. No, I do not believe Kate smokes. All information sites list her as a non-smoker. She used to fuss about Jon smoking. Kate is very health conscious. She exercises (obvious from this People cover), she eats organic, she is very concerned with cleanliness. I could never imagine that she would even try to smoke. In all the paparrazzi pics there is never a shot of her smoking...many pics of Jon smoking.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I agree Firedup, if Kate smoked, there would be pictures.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It looked like she was smoking on the beach in the YouTube video of the last episode. It's when she walks toward the kids and surfing instructors from the cabana. She blows out what appears to be a puff of smoke. I hope not.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wouldn't that be glorious to have your bad body days photoshopped out? Or bad hair days?

    ReplyDelete
  20. So cool about getting the videos back!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, I hope I'm wrong. It's a filthy habit and is obviously completely unhealthy.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Cherier1~ Yes you are wrong. That rumor about Kate and that rediculous "puff" was fabircated because they couldn't handle how amazing Kate looks and the trolls were looking for other things to snark about. There was no smoke and I watched the footage myself 2x. If you want to see this supposed puff of smoke where Kate was on the beach with NO cigarette, you can go to the first clip and click right before the 2min 40 mark. That is where they "claimed they saw" something. Watched in in high def. no smoke anywhere.

But I have to say, that was one of their better made up stories ;)

BM, WTH is Kate's face doing on your body?? haha

CMO3 wouldnt that be amazing if we could wake up every morning and just be photoshopped. Alittle here alittle there and perfect.

I don't care how much people want to say she was photoshopped to death we all seen her in a bikini on the episodes and we know she looks great. That fact that she got on the cover of People in one is what threatens people cause she is not afraid of ANYTHING and that makes haterz uncomfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I watched the preview on this post, it makes me laugh every time when Kate says about her and Jamie "We thought that was a dolphin and we are in charge of these kids." Talking about her plastic toy shark which was supposed to be a dolphin. Too funny!! Thats totally something my Mom friends and I would say, lol

    ReplyDelete
  25. LOL KD. You look in the mirror in the morning ....take a little off here, a little off there.....

I personally want to know how she got rid of the csection tummy muffin. Can you only get rid of it with surgery? Does any one know an exercise that works? No matter how much weight I lose, it's still there.

    ReplyDelete
  26. CraftyMomof3, Kate had a tummy tuck :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Lori Anne, I can see your excited to point out what you see as Kate's short cuts to success, but you should really read CM3's entire post.

As for surgery, not everyone needs surgery. Some people (depending on genetics, etc) do not have an issue after a c-section. But if you are one of those unfortunate (like most women LOL) people that holds weight on their midsection and exercise and diet hasn't been working, then yes, surgery seems to be the only solution.

    ReplyDelete
  28. CMo3 - My surgeon said there is not an exercise in the world that will get rid of the muffin top from a C section; it requires a tummy tuck. I'm just not willing to undergo the knife and the recuperation. He did say that for many of the "celebrities" essentially a tummy tuck is done at the time of the C section, an option not offered to the vast majority of people, and that portion not usually covered by routine insurance. I'm certainly no expert and neither an MD nor an exercise expert for reductions, just passing along third hand what I was told.

If there is such an exercise, I sure hope somebody shares it!!!

  29. Hello everyone! Long time no talk! It has been a crazy summer and I am embarrassed to say I'm back. Embarrassed because everytime I say it, I disappear again. lol Anyway, I haven't forgotten you Baby Mama. I love this site and everyone's opinions. I had all 4 kids at home this summer and needless to say they drove me right up the wall and back down again so a lot of my computer time just suffered. Not to mention my car caught fire spontaneously in July (thankfully just me in it and I got out in time)so I had to spend weeks dealing with insurance and then trying to find a new car to house the whole family in time for school starting. So you can see the computer was pretty low on the list of prioroties. I did try to keep up here and there though at 1:00 am when everyone was squared away and I had a few moments to breathe. Anyway, sorry so much about me. I just didn't want you to think I jumped ship and never looked back.

On to Kate. I say she looks amazing! They may have smoothed a few things out like they do with everyone but I don't think they photoshopped her whole stomach out. lol Let's face it, everyone that knows Kate's type A personality would not be surprised at how disciplined she is. If she can do it to everyone around her, then I am sure she holds the same expectations of herself so I have no doubt that she worked her butt off to get this fit. She is a smart woman, she knows that not only for health and wellness but for the fact that if she wants to keep working in tv, she needs to keep herself looking great. More power to her.

As for the smoking thing, I have to agree that with the amount of health consciousness she has always displayed from day one in eating organic and natural etc., it makes no sense that she would condone smoking much less smoke herself.

As for the past episodes of Kate plus 8, I missed the last one after New York so I am real excited that I can catch up here. Thanks Baby Mama! I tried to find it on tlc but there was no full episode.

Oh and last thing, I too love the show Hoarders. I swear I was and still am to a certain extent a pack rat. Everything has some kind of sentimental value to me so I find it very hard to throw things away. In fact everyone can't understand why I have my rusted and worn looking license plates on my new car and I have to tell them that no I am not too cheap to pay the $20 bucks for a set of new plates but that my plates have sentimental value to me (these are the plates that were on his car when I met my husband and have followed on every other car we've had since then) so I will not part with them. My sil even went so far as to suggest I just get new plates made with the same number but that just wouldn't be the same. Anyway, I can relate to the show. I have gotten a lot better about throwing away or donating though because I can see how out of control things get when you have too much stuff so I am not at the point yet of applying for the show. ;)

Oh, one last last thing. I like the Quints show too and I agree that nothing will ever replace the Gosselins. I just can't see anyone coming around that will capture people like they did. I'm glad Kate plus 8 looks like it has regular episodes. Any word on when Kate's new show will be starting?

Ok, that's it. It feels good to be back. xoxo

  30. CraftyMom - off subject (sorry). I'm considering buying my first ever sewing machine. Don't want to spend a ton of $$ since I tend to start and stop projects. Any suggestions? Bobbins scare me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Another Mom - So glad to see you back!!!
    -----
SoCalEr-Rn - You deleted your posts. If you saw what you said, you've got phenomenal eyes. Looked again, I simply can't find it. Even on the big screen and slo-mo. I majorly detest cigarettes. If they were there, I'd be on the STOPbandwagon just like I am with Jon. I'll bet puffing a cir would be a big $$ paparazzi shot.
    -----
Photoshopping a still photo is relatively easy if you are competent with software. Photoshopping a video would be major major hard!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Holli if you have a Walmart pick up a cheap Brother machine. Their bobbins you just wind them, put them in the casing a slide the thread through the loop and pop it in. DO NOT get an easy thread machine. They jam and break most of the time.

    Hope that helps. :)

Linda that's what my doc told me. I gain my weight in my shoulders and hips. Never usually in my stomach. That's why it frustrates me!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks for the welcome back Linda! I see you have been busy moderating while Baby Mama was away and I think you have done an awesome job!

    ReplyDelete
  34. LindaOriginal

I had 3 C-section and my body came back naturel, I have friends that had problem, I think it is more a problem with the surgeon. Or I am a lucky one that the skin is easy to come back...I am 50 now and steel have no problem. It doesn't show that I had children...Talking about tummy not the breast, that is something else..after one kid it shows.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Facinated, cut me some slack please. I thought CMO3 was asking a ligit question. She said "I personally want to know how she got rid of the csection tummy muffin." SHE as in Kate. In Kate's case it was a tummy tuck. In my case... still working on it! Have a great day, Facinated.

    ReplyDelete
  36. For me : I've dieted, exercised, etc. Now, I think I'm beyond surgical fixes, so I'm holding out for a total body transplant. I want to choose the body!!! (I want to be talker, firmer, younger, and stunning! Not too much to ask at all!)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Did they Photoshop it? I don't care!

She's at the three-quarter turn stance which is the absolute best angle for any photograph. Makes the waist, etc. look great. (Of course, you have to have something to start with, lol.)

I love it!!! Keeps the h-folks busy & out of the way. :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. Shoot, meant to say TALLER, I'm already a talker.

  39. Hello, I just saw the inside photos of People magazine, (haven't had the chance to read it yet) and all I can say is that she looks gorgeous , she is fit and her face looks sooo pretty... yes i think they photoshopped her but they do it to everybody even SUPERMODELS. Bottom line she looks amazing! keep it up Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  40. AnotherMom~ I missed you! So happy to see you back. You should be ashamed that you have been away so long ;)

LoriAnne&CraftyMom~ i could only imagine if Kate DIDN'T have a tummy tuck. Being that thin, there are so many moms I know that still have that muffin. I know of two that went and had tummy tucks which I thought was crazy, but they felt that being thin really accentuated it. odd

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ok, Guys lets be real here, what MAN in his right mind would not want to be with Kate, her body is gorgeous. BUT my concern, sense I am just an average Joe, and do not know the REAL person, what is she like at home out of the spot light, average guys usually have not a chance in heck to go out with a star. good luck kate, but body is not everything, but your off to a great start. try meeting a average guy hollywood seem to have nothing but problems

    ReplyDelete
  42. BTW Someone owes me a new laptop, I just spit my coffee all over it after I read someone thinks they saw Kate smoking. That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. She is way too healthy to do something like that to herself much less her kids.

    ReplyDelete
  43. CMO3 and Holli-- I have a Project Runway Brother sewing machine and it's a good machine.
Lightweight for taking to quilting classes.

The new quints show is good too. It's amazing how the Gosselins and the Jones family travel with all those kids. They don't let the size of the family stop them--they just do it. Incredible!

    ReplyDelete
  44. ooh fancy Corrina! LOL That's cool! I didn't know they made Project Runway sewing machines. So neat.

Just to clarify I know that Kate had surgery which was completely necessary in my eyes. As I said before I see it as reconstructive surgery in her case. I was talking about a normal situation and asking if some one knew of an exercise that helps a person who only had one kid via csection. Not 6! LOL I have a very short body and long legs so any weight or extra skin in the midsection shows. My doctor said in my case in her opinion surgery would only fix it because right after I had my preemie I was bedridden so I could get to work on those abs right away like I did with my other two who were natural. It's a long story but my surgeon was awesome and made a great clean incision. My OB/GYN (the idiot who almost killed me) then took my steristrips off too early which caused an infection and messed the incision up. Any ideas?

Aand I can't wait until next week. I am really curious how she managed to get them all out the house for full day of school intact! I can barely do it with two...she amazes me.

    ReplyDelete
  45. **couldn't get to work on my abs. Love how the phone changes what I'm saying....

    ReplyDelete
  46. Thanks CMO3 and Corrina. I'll hit WalMart tomorrow. Scary thought. Me with a machine. As scary as that is, however, the thought of Kate smoking is just plain crazzzzzzzzy.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I saw the pics in the People magazine. I think Kate really does look beautiful in the magazine. They are great pics of her. That being said, I just wish the pics were more realistic. Yes, stars are airbrushed and photoshopped all the time and it's expected, I just think it isn't "real."

I think Kate looks pretty good in real life but she's not as "slim" as she is portrayed in People. They've airbrushed out the stretch marks and now people are asking how she got rid of that "pooch" meanwhile she had it in the Cabo pics.

If it was a Playboy shoot I'd understand, but People? I'd be interested in seeing the "before" pics. I'm sure she looked good but just more natural.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I saw the "puff of smoke? in the video clip but I'm not really sure what it is. I actually thought it was the reflection of the canopy waving but then I thought it was smoke, then I thought it wasn't... I'm really not sure. It "looks" like smoke in the video but I can't say for sure.

I wouldn't be surprised either way. Actually I would be "surprised" just not shocked. Jon hid it for all these years.

    ReplyDelete
  49. SG - Did you read Baby Mama's earlier post on this issue?

I would agree that it looks like a reflection. I do not agree that it looks like a puff of smoke. I have looked at it on big screen and in slo-mo. I am vigorously anti smoking as you well know.

Since Baby Mama has taken a stance on this in an earlier post, I really do not feel it merits further discussion. Yes I am aware that the troll sites were debating it hot and heavy. (I do not need more emails on this folks. Thank you for your concern. I know Baby Mama got emails also and she addressed it.)

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm heading out now so you can continue on without my input for the rest of the day.

Baby Mama, you are missed! Hope all is well with you.

  53. After a lengthy conversation with Baby Mama, there are a number of posts which may disappear.

While there are many places to post your dislike of anything Gosselin, this is a fan site. Both Baby Mama and I are pro Kate.

Under direction from Baby Mama, there will be no more "stirring the pot" and carrying junk from hate sites to here. This is not for any one person in particular but is intended as a statement of policy. If you have questions about a deletion, please direct your emails to Baby Mama. Thank you.

  54. I forgot this morning before I ran to work to say welcome back to another mom!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sorry for being late to the smoking party Linda, but my opinion? I don't think it was smoke. I watched it a few times and it appears more like the glare of the sun on the tent roof. Ok, next topic please!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Baby Mama will be on later tonight, entertaining all of us with more of her wit I'm sure.

    ReplyDelete
  57. A comment at another site was interesting and pretty conceivable...they noted that Kate had gum in her mouth before and after the so-called "smoke"...looked like she turned her head suddenly because of sand blowing...and a puff of sand comes off the tent in background...creates an illusion like smoke coming from Kate.

Also Kate's Mom has stated emphatically that Kate NEVER smoked and that everything in her body is real and is her own.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Lori Anne - I'm with you! Next topic please.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I can say after watching that whole episode over and over and over, that:

There's no tummy pooch on Kate in this episode. One of the sections before Kate puts on the shirt and surfing, she turns her body in a three-quarter pose in the reverse direction from the People mag shot. No tummy pooch. Nada.

The bottom portion of the Cabo swim suit is snugger than those she wore at Bald Head. Maybe that's the pooch, maybe she had beans for lunch on her tacos, heck I have no idea. But, clearly there is no tummy p-o-o-c-h at Bald Head.

So you don't have to major Photoshop those Christmas photos, remember a three-quarter turn is always more flattering. (Another reason you don't usually see anything but that in swimsuit modeling.) Stand straight and turn into your guy, it's much more flattering! I can only Photoshop a couple hundred photos between now & Christmas, so please get your orders in early!

    ReplyDelete
  60. I just looked at the Cabo pictures and there are neither stretch marks, a pooch or cellulite. IMO, the only thing air brushed was her scars. She is standing up straight and at an angle in People as LindaO stated.

IMO, Kate looks more than pretty good in real life she looks beautiful. She is indeed slim as shown in the picture on this site in the pink dress.

I will never understand the women that say negative things about Kate's body. She has worked very hard to get that toned and kudos to her that a magazine recognizes that and will pay her to show it off.

    ReplyDelete
  61. SG said - I just wish the pics were more realistic. Yes, stars are airbrushed and photoshopped all the time and it's expected, I just think it isn't "real."

I completely agree with you. I don’t like any airbrushing. It is unrealistic and I think make-up, good hair, and clothes that work is all one needs. That is more realistic. Kate was airbrushed to look more sleek. We all know she has an athlete’s body.

SG also said that Jon hid his smoking for years. I believe TLC and Jon hid his smoking, then he couldn’t hide it anymore because he was rebelling and the paps wanted dirt. I think the paps would have found out that Kate was smoking too (if she was) a long time ago. Yes at times I too believe that TLC hides things. LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I am a HUGE Kate fan. I always have been.
I love Kate. I love the kids; she's doing a great job raising them.

The new People cover kinda rubs me the wrong way. I'm so glad that she is back in shape and is confident enough to flaunt it. I just don't think she needed to pose in a teeny bikini. There are other ways to flaunt an in shape body.
    This is just my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sorry you feel that way, Gone Country. It is a bikini, but not a string bikini. But again, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  64. fascinated - I would suggest you write to the American Magazine Association and voice your disapproval of photoshopping/airbrushing photos. That is one option. You can write to the publishers also. That's another option. It probably wouldn't help much with overseas publications, but is a start. You can always vote with your pocketbook and not buy the publications.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have no idea when Jon took up smoking again. He has said he smoked in Hugh school, stopped for a period, and then began again. As for when, how long, or why, I have zero idea.

I do know from experience (chime in here other parents of preemies) that parents of preemies are warned not to let smokers near their babies. Several of the Gosselin kids had respiratory problems and had to have breathing treatments.

If TLC perpetuated hiding it, that would be very sad indeed. I have no proof of that happening, though. I do wholeheartedly disapprove of any smoking around children. Not in the car, not in the house, period. If anyone has proof, I'd certainly be interested. We, to my knowledge, did not see Jon smoking until the separation. Is that correct?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well, that was supposedto be "high" school not "huge" school.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Come on.... I want to talk about the smoke too ha. Cause I went back and forth and back and forth on that stupid youtube video until my eyes were sore.

When you look at Kate's head it sort of looks like a plume of smoke comes out.

If you look at the top of the tent where said plume was in front of all you see is the rippling tent. Its windy there and I think it was an optical illusion.

    That's my two cents.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think it is really sad that soo many people have to spend soo much time obsessing over how somebody looks instead of what they say or do. That's what I think is more important, if looking good helps Kate feel better, she will be a better mom and that's what is important. If she chooses to subject herself to surgery and proceedures to do so it is her business and her business as to how much to disclose. I do agree with Craftymom that there were medical reasons for her tummy tuck, I remember there was some kind of opening in the muscles of her abdomen. I also think that in this money hungry culture, that if she had work done somebody, maybe even Jon would have shown pictures or some proof for a nice check. I also think if she wanted more proceedures she'd probably do it in front of the camera like she's done other things, including her hair and tummy tuck

  70. I love that we live in a part of the world were we can spend hours reading and discussing about whether someone has fake boobs, whether they are sleeping with their body guard, and whether or not they deserve to make money the way they do. As opposed to worry about whether or daughters will be allowed to go to school and get an education. We truly are privileged.

    ReplyDelete
  71. fascinated - I told you wrong. It is now MPA (Magazine Publishers Association) or magazine.org

    ReplyDelete
  72. Lol. I can't copy and paste links firm the cell. Just got an email about mag Hollywood Life declaring the BIA bikini is the first bikini that looks great on ALL body types. (I'm sure there are exceptions to that, and I am one of them.). It even includes curvy Kim Kardashian and ripped Kate Gosselin among others.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Thanks Linda, Not buying the magazine won't change the industry but supporting our next generation in letter writing campaigns and voicing their displeasure is a great idea.

  75. That is awesome Lori Anne and I completely agree that we have too much time on our hands. But I won't say that once all the sports, homework, and shoveling snow starts. LOL.

  76. Lori Anne - That is commendable. Good for you.

  77. I've been pondering a lot since Chuck's comment. What kind of man would be right for Kate. Certainly it would have to be someone who is self-reliant, a Type A, mature, sincere, gainfully and succesfully employed, and able to withstand the limelight. No matter with whom that first date is, the media will be relentless.

  78. I agree Linda, Kate's new man (for lack of a better term) must be self-relient and self-assured. In saying that Kate must also be willing to hand the reigns over now and then.

  79. Fascinated - I think she'd welcome a man who can speak-up, and walk beside her. In that, I mean that I don't think she'd be interested in another man-child. I'm not putting down Jon. (I don't think he has a clue about what he wants in life yet, nor knows himself. I wish him health, love success & happiness.)

I think it's gotta be someone who can speak up and knows his own mind, what he wants, and has a goal & direction in life. Tactfully, I don't think a couch potato need apply. My guess is that she will be very cautious in getting involved. Certainly I would think it would have to someone who is fit and wants to live a healthy, active lifestyle. It will be interesting to watch and see.

  80. I agree Linda that Kate would want that kind of man. However, I think that she has been in control for long enough to be reluctant to trust someone else taking over. I don't mean this like the haters mean it. Many women are used to running the family because of lack of support from their spouse, or absence of. It takes them a while to trust the other person to lead the way.

  81. Baby Mama and Crafty Mom of 3, thank you very much for the welcome back!It feels so nice to know I was missed. :)

Baby Mama, I hope you had a wonderful vacation!

I have not been able to find the video as of yet with all the "smoking" hoopla but since my twins were preemies, I can answer to the comment about not smoking around preemies.

Preemies generally have breathing problems and have to have oxygen while in the NICU due to underdeveloped lungs at birth and some even come home with oxygen machines. I was VERY fortunate that my boys didn't have those issues. They did have the oxygen in the hospital in the beginning (they were born at 28 weeks)but outgrew the prematurity breathing problems very well as they got to full term and by the time they were released they were off all the oxygen for a while. That said, they can suffer from something called reactive airway for a while in early childhood and just because their systems are more fragile, it is told to parents of preemies that they should never be around smoke. Reactive airway resembles asthma in nature but it does not happen for the same reason other kids have asthma. I believe one of the reasons preemies are susceptible to this is because most of them are intubated for long periods and having the breathing machines in their lungs causes scar tissue. When they get a cold, it tends to make them wheezy and have asthma like syptoms so compounding something like that with exposing them to smoke is not a good thing. Although my kids were only intubated for a day or so when they were first born (and got tired breathing on their own), my one son has a little bit of reactive airway when he gets a cold. He gets wheezy in his chest and has to have this syrup that opens up the airways. The good thing is that they do outgrow this by the time they are about 5 but in the meantime, you don't want to expose them to anything that will make them sicker with a common cold or virus. Once again, I thank God that my kids are in great health for having been born pretty much 3 months early but there are things like this that are general rules of thumb for preemies. So I would hope Jon did quit at that time rather than just going outside to smoke or whatever because having the smoke on your clothes and handling the babies is just as bad as smoking in the house IMO. Anyway, that is my piece on preemies and the no smoking rule. In the couple of months that my boys were in the NICU, I learned a lot about preemies. I think I could write a book! ;)

  82. another mom - Monday's episode, "A Rough Ride" is in three parts, all of which are on the thread prior to this one. It's part of that episode where it allegedly happened. It's quite windy and Kate is chewing gum. Because he cheeks are moving and there's a tent flapping in the background, IMO, some decided Kate was smoking. If you want to watch, Baby Mama's previous post is where you will find it. Hope that helps. :)

Two of the Gosselin kids also had problems with pneumonia. I too sincerely hope Jon wasn't smoking then.

  83. AnotherMom~ My vacation was wonderful but as always, too short! Coming right back to work and school the very next day was a nightmare. Just got the last suitcase empty!

Since Jon's name is still on this site, and for good reason (he is part of this family and always be included) I wanted to keep you up to date and what his doing post-ex wife People magazine....

"In a new post on the reality TV dad's Twitter page, he announces that he will be making some pro football predictions on a radio show Friday: "Listen tomorrow at 11:30am EST for my NFL picks on Picking With The Stars with @SteltonShow101 at www.101ESPN.com."

Over the course of the past few months, there have been rumors circulating around Jon's future in entertainment -- including that he could even follow up his ex-wife Kate with an appearance on "Dancing with the Stars." Picking football games is a far cry from getting back on TV, but it could be a bridge for Jon tog et his name out there while at the same time maintaining some sort of private profile.

While Jon is doing this, Kate's People Magazine cover (featuring her in a bikini) will hit newsstands around the country. Do you think that Jon is making a good move here?"

  84. Baby Mama--We just heard about the tornado in New York. I hope and pray you and your loved ones are safe.

  85. Corrina~ thank you so much! It didn't last long and thank goodness by the time I had to go out at 7pm it was only heavy rain. The only hassle for commuters was something that fell on Penn Station train tracks. It closed down many of the lines and caused thousand of people to get home hours late!

Not to mention the cluster at the station itsself!

  86. Baby Mama, we are all relieved that you are safe as well as others there also.

  88. Re Kate's bikini: I had no idea how popular this swimsuit is nor all the colors available! On different celebrities, this model suit has been featured on the cover of no less than 12 magazine covers in the last two months, from weekly mags to monthly mags, from gossip mags to fitness mags, from Alicia Keyes to two Kardashians (Kim & Courtney) to Kate, as well as many just celeb photos.I'd bet that every single one of those photos was photoshopped somewhat, for color correction if nothing else.

One rag in particular wants to compare Kate at the beach to Kate on the People cover. Interesting that he chose to use a photo of Kate from a year ago with current. (Easy to tell from the child in the photo not to mention Kate's hair.)

Kate is faulted for spray tans. What? Much healthier than living in the sun, right? It is also excellent for covering scars and stretch marks. When you spend time in the sun, scars get whiter and more stark; scars don't tan. IMO, no more dumb to spray to correct a scar than wearing contacts to correct vision and control squint, whitening teeth, and many other things.

The point is: it is her money (from DWTS & interviews, commentaries, etc.) exclusive of any money earned from Kate+8. She earned it. She has the right to spend it however and on whatever she chooses.

  89. So much to talk about!
    The smoking...I'd be very suprised.

The picture..unfortunately that is the norm on all magazines(photoshopping & air-brushing).
Although, they have to have something to work with.

Remember Oprah's confession that she'd gained weight & how they had "hid" it for a year on all her covers? Oprah, could on her covers be a great advocate for keeping it real & actually looking like the rest of us flaws & all.

I just don't think Kate has the star power...YET to buck that trend. Let's face it, if Oprah or many of the really powerful celebs don't try & change it...why & how would she?

The C-section pooch..I did manage to get a flat tummy after my first. I was younger, it took years of really hard work,& I had a post divorce stress diet:), plus the surgeon was apparently awsome. At my second section the DR said it was a beautiful incision.

8yrs later I had another section, two years ago I added a 3rd this one a vertical due to complications...needless to say I am now the "proud?" owner of a bum in the front similier to Kates b4 surgery.

Losing the the combined baby weight is still a work in progress. I know I'm never going to get rid of it all..unless perhaps I get a TT. I was in the hospital for so long with my last baby & had so many awful experiences... diet & exercise will have to do. I just have to actually "DO IT" more.:0

  91. CMo3 - Wow!! I stand totally corrected. Just learned from doctors on Rachael Ray show that there are new non-surgical treatments for CSection muffin top, saggy crepe skin, and scaring. One is a different laser treatment that tightens all that skin (Photos shown were incredible!) along with silicon surface patches and other laser treatments to make scars seem to disappear! According to the surgeon and dermatologist, many of these non-surgical treatments are even covered by insurance as counter correctives to the aftermath of CSections and other scars. I will investigate next week and email you.

  92. Whoa. That's pretty cool. Maybe the can get rid of the tiny annoying vericous veins I have from the magneisium while their at it!

    ReplyDelete
  93. CMo3 - Yes, they were even showing an injection to do the varicose veins. They did that procedure on the show to a woman from the audience.
    --------
With all of the lasers, etc. I think I could handle that regardless of any pain involved. I pretty sure I'm just not into cutting through the abdominal muscles again and the recuperation time. (Although the hubby jokingly said if I wanted a boob job lift just let him know where to write the check. He was kidding, of course. And, I have no desire to top out as Pam Anderson or Dolly Parton, either, lol.)

  94. So much to adress!

Kate's potential new man: I really agree that Kate will do well with a real man that can stand up for himself and to her. I think the main reason she was so bossy with Jon was because he let her. I may not have agreed with some of the way she treated him back then but I guess he never commanded the respect either. I used to think that she would do that to every man she met BUT I have since changed my mind.

Disclaimer: This next statement is in no way trying to say that Kate does have something going with her body guard. It's just an observation I have made. While watching several of the shows where they show Kate interacting with Steve, there have been many times where he has gotten very firm with her and basically told her to suck it up and deal with things etc. I have cringed waiting for her to bark back at him but it never comes. It seems like he can really put her in her place and she accepts this. I don't know if it is his job to take care of her and she accepts that or whether it is because he won't take any crap from her but I have a feeling it is the latter because the conversations where he was firm with her were personal conversations (the one that comes to mind is where they were riding in the limo and she was crying and saying she couldn't bear to goto dance practice because of all the bs with Jon trying to take custody). Based on this, I can see that if the right person comes along and is the right combination of forceful and caring, Kate would ease up. Maybe she would even be relieved that all the burden of raising the kids and running the house wasn't on her. Maybe that was why she was always so mad at Jon because he was too laid back and never took initiative for anything. Anyway, just a thought!

Linda - Thanks for pointing me in the right direction to finding the last episode. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet so I haven't seen the "smoking" clip but to be honest, I don't think I need to see it because I can't fathom Kate lighting up especially with the kids running around all over the place.

As for the spray tan issue, I don't know why it is an issue! What is wrong with spray tanning? I personally don't do it but to me it is just the same as going to get a pedicure or manicure or dye your hair etc. It is also a more responsible way of getting colour on your skin. Would people prefer that she baked under the sun because then she wouldn't be spending money doing it? Oh, and on the topic of money, I have to say that even if Kate spent something out of the Kate Plus 8 money, she is entitled because her name is on the show too and she is opening up her life for the public to consume as well as the children so she is entitled to a paycheck too and I know she puts aside most of it for expenses and the kids have their own share but who is anyone to criticize her for spending part of it on herself? Don't we all spend money out of our family's earnings to do hair, nails etc. provided that the bills are paid first? It's not like she does her spray tans while her kids are starving for food or anything. Just 2 cents on that one.

Baby Mama - I know what you mean about coming back from vacation. #1 Vacations are NEVER long enough and #2, unpacking is such a beast. It takes me a day or two to unback after a simple day at the beach. lol Oh, and I'm very glad you and your family are safe after yesterday!

I know I'm forgetting something I wanted to comment about but if I remember, I'll be back. :)

In honor of Friday and cooking great food (along with giving Baby Mama a break) the home cooked aromas of Gosselin foods will scent our new paper.
