WATCH VIDEO HERE: Kate Gosselin SHINES At The Emmys! Stop The Bodyguard Rumor Already,

Kate Gosselin, Tina Fey sing in Emmy opener: HollywoodReporter.com

"Glee" stole the show before winning even one Emmy. Jimmy Fallon opened up Sunday's show with a "Glee" skit that featured the Fox show's stars -- and Tina Fey, Kate Gosselin, John Hamm, Betty White and "American Idol's" Randy Jackson, among others. The clip opened with Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Reilly and Chris Colfer telling Fallon they couldn't afford the $1,200 for four tickets to the Emmys (the show and its stars are nominated for 19). Fallon decided they'll make their own "Glee" group to win regionals, and they run through the high school looking for members. They first encounter Tina Fey, who joined the group.

Next they see Kate Gosselin, who was wearing the red dress and long hair extensions she donned in her Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" dance on "Dancing With the Stars. "They turn her down, saying, "We already have way too many people!" The group also ran into "Mad Men's" John Hamm, who is getting dance instructions from Betty White. As Colfer lingers, White snaps, "What the hell are you looking at?" Jane Lynch, who plays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on "Glee" (and earned an Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series early in the show), then gets in the group's way by throwing a slushee on Fey and Fallon -- a typical slam on the show. The gang danced through the high school in a taped scene and then burst into the stage live. (Click on the image below) Maybe this gig will lead to her replacing Mary Hart, who knows!

Kate Gosselin, bodyguard went on a 'stroll' for work: Examiner.com

The "Kate Gosselin is dating her bodyguard" stories went ahead for about six months, but now we are starting to get them again on a daily basis. However, the response to the rumors is pretty much the same it has always been -- they're not together in any sort of romantic way. This new report comes courtesy of Us Magazine, who claims through a source that Gosselin and bodyguard Steve Neild "looked at each other like they were an item" while taking long walks on the beach in North Carolina. However, this isn't the full story of what was going down. The family was actually at Bald Head Island shooting the next installment of "Kate Plus 8," and the paparazzi were starting to sniff around the family's home where the kids were staying. It's possible that the two were walking around to make sure the area was safe for the kids, or simply to get away from a few minutes as friends. After all, the two are friends -- Kate has said this on a number of occasions. Kate is also friends with Steve's wife, and the families have done multiple things together over the years. Even though Neild may very well be a "father figure" to the Gosselin kids in some ways (as a bodyguard, he is often around), there is still no substantial evidence to prove that anything romantic is going on here. Rather, for now we just have a case of the same story popping up repeatedly, with the exact same answer coming in response.

  1. What I have seen has been Steve acting as more of a father figure to Kate that a boyfriend. I do notice when Gosselin news slows down, something has to fill the void, so this must be it. If Kate and Steve did want to date, I really think they would do it out and open it would not be a secret. I only hope that when Kate is ready to date, that she finds someone (not married) as solid and grounded as Steve though. I am looking forward to Emmys. BabyMama, enjoy your vacation, you deserve it.

  2. Thank you baby! Go figure I'm probably going to be running to the nearest TV to see the beginning of the Emmys!

  4. Interesting.. No, not that I'm not asleep yet because I'm too excited being away.. But that Ellen Ross is letting everyone on Twitter know she is with Jon in DC for this appearance. Since I haven't spoken about him it a bit, lets talk about him Twittering to anyone he hasn't blocked. But That is not the interesting part. What is interesting is that Ellen has set up a relationship blog. 4 Kate haters are already following it. More to come. Dear Abby's daughter, who took over for her mother is gonna be giving that girl a smackdown for making the art of advice look bad...I'm scared that she's not making enough on her Twitter ads... lol this is a question from her blog.

Ellen: I have a question. "How do you keep a healthy realtionship? I've been married for almost 16 years. I told my husband we need a date night at least once a month. Anymore ideas?" Lina

    "Hi Lina,
Well, a date night is a great idea once a month, maybe you can even do it twice a month, or once a week. Also, try to have communication time like talking at least one hour each day. Try to eat dinner together at least once a week also. If you like to walk or jog, try doing it together. I think you are already on the right track. Good luck!!" Ellen

  5. Please, Gosselin fans, do not go to Ellen's blog and say anything negative about a 23 yr old giving relationship advice. She will develop wisdom as she lives.

While Kate's at the Emmy's, what will Jon be doing. According to PRWire log in a press release by Jon's agent, Jon will be with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach again on his radio program where Rabbi Shmuley advises building family time by sitting down to family dinners at least once a week with no media influences. Jon will talk about being a single dad, dealing with celebrity, Jon's dinner initiatives, and his plans for the future according to the press release.
I can't copy and paste the link from here but it's at prlog.org

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach had a series on TLC a while back for those who didn't know.

  6. Baby Mama--Have the best vacation ever! This will be the first time in years that I watch the Emmys--at least the beginning of the show.

All the best to Kate--What a great opportunity!
My guess is that she will be dressed in blue. We'll see.

  7. Tasha, you really think they'd just date out in the open? He's married! Most people having an affair do it privately.... Not that I'm saying they are having an affair.... I have no idea.

I did see a pic of Steve that they highlighted he wasn't wearing his wedding band but I have no idea if he used to wear one. And there could be a different reason for it. I wouldn't have even bothered commenting on their "affair" but I found the "out in the open" comment odd.

  8. Hi Linda O! I don't want you to be bored so I thought I give a shout-out. Put on your boxing gloves!

Tasha, I frequently agree with you and on the Steve/Kate issue, I am nodding "yes". IF and it's a big, capital IF they have anything more than business/friendship, I think her fans can understand. It is possible that he and his wife could have been separated without the general public being aware. Only those involved know. I would certainly not judge. He seems solid, caring and intelligent. Plus, he is one good-looking man.

I am NOT advocating divorce or family-breakups. But if it happens or happened, it's just life.

Maybe a man and a woman can be friends. Maybe.

In the meantime, I am sooooooo looking forward to the Emmy's. It's time for some fun and glamour.

  9. Regarding the Steve & Kate thing...there have been several reports that Gina Nield was there on Bald Island with the family...so that would shoot those rumors. Also Kate has repeatedly stated that both Gina and Steve are in her closest circle of friends. I cannot think that Kate would ever cross the line and betray Gina that way...for goodness sakes, Kate knows the feeling of betrayal.

Regarding Ellen...what a joke. This gal sure has set herself up on a pedestal. 23 years of living and now she wants to start giving advice. Maybe she should start by giving some advice to Jon....oh, that's right...she already has...alas, the towel idea was hers! And the response to BabyMama's question...a teenager could have figured out that generic answer. I'm not even going to her blog..it is already a pig sty for haters against Kate. I think Kate needs to really be careful how much access she has to the children...I see her as someone who will seriously undermine Kate and try to influence the kids in a bad way. Look at her twitter and you will see she follows some nasty sites.

  10. 1. IF Kate & Steve WERE having an affair, don't you think we'd have seen ONE FREAKING PICTURE????? Come one, that photo would be worth mega, mega, mega bucks!(See #9 below also.)

    2. The photo (made by INF but sold to a tabloid) of Gina is right there on the internet. I'm so irked that I am not going to post a link. I'm not going to give them the web traffic.

    3. I realize that there are many people, in the United States alon, that have never been able to take a vacation any where along the beaches of the east coast from Maine to Florida. There are crashing waves folks. It is hard to talk to each other without yelling.

    4. Even the infamous Katy Hall "reports" that paparazzi were jumping up out of the sand dunes to capture the shots. Well duh, you think they just go away? They're like sharks in a feeding frenzy that have smelled blood. They WANT that scoop.

    5. Steve is a bodyguard. His job is to keep people safe He's been on national tv and explained the dangers. As I tell my kids, what part of this do you not understand? D-A-N-G-E-R.

    6. Of course Kate trusts him. She's been betrayed by every slimy snake under the sun. To be even Kate's friend, you've got to have a pretty darn thick skin because photos will be snapped and shoddy journalism will label you as everything under the sun.

    7. I lost my very first pearl ring in the SC surf of the grand strand; I learned my lesson at age 11. People with a brain, usually take off rings when they are going to be in water, especially in the surf. They just slide off. Why the heck do you see photos of 6-8 men and/or women out on the beaches every morning with their little metal detectors? To scoop up the jewelry of the uninformed or those who figure it can't happen to them.

    8. Repeating a unsubstantiated rumor does NOT make it become true.

    9. Show me the photo. Show me the proof. Ms. Hall's family was there snapping away at photos that HuffyPo published before she could jump on a plane and rush down. The INF paps were there, snapping away. So where's the photo?

    10. There are even idiots saying well Gina should give an interview and say it isn't true. Oh really? Steve did that already. Didn't work then. If Gina even were to do that, wanna guess what the disgusting tabloid headlines would be: "Gosselin & Bodyguard Family in a Threesome." Give me a break.

  13. Hi all! Back from the wedding. It was really fun but I am wiped! Can't wait to watch the Emmys.

I think the whole thing with Steve and Kate is getting as old as them reporting that Jennifer Aniston is preggo every five minutes.

As far as Jon and Ellen are concerned they don't exist to me anymore. Karmas a b***h and I hope it bites the two of them back hard. I used to be neutral and I was hoping he'd come around. I USED to generally like the guy, just thought he was REALLY misguided. Not anymore. To think he's allowing his girlfriend to publicly follow a group that allowed posters to question his kids mental facilities is just wrong on so many levels. I am so done and will not even minutely try to defend him.

Baby Mama hope you are having a fabulous trip.

  14. Regarding the Ring/No Ring debate which has become stupid beyond belief IMO here’s some info.

At the INF Daily site of the 5th Birthday party for the kids, there are photos of Jon and Steve standing together. Steve does not have on a wedding ring.
No link here. I don’t want to promote the paparazzi any more, especially not INF.
If you want the photo and have to have proof, then you go to the site and put in Gosselin 5th Birthday party. (This was 15 months ago.)

In the interval there are many published photos of the Neild family (Steve & Gina) being together with Kate. (Kate’s birthday, Thanksgiving, etc.) I have not examined every one of them to see if there was/was not a ring. I don’t have the time. If you do, go for it.

In the special Kate’s Story, Steve spoke about Kate’s life, etc.
42 seconds into the clip of Steve speaking you can see his hands rise and there is NO wedding ring on either hand. I point that out only because we have an Aussie friend who wears his ring on his right hand (why I don’t know; his business.)
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sprz6yMWeVM

I cannot copy and paste. I've checked the link twice typing back and forth to try to type it correctly. If I screwed it up, then go to YouTube and type in: Steve the bodyguard speaks.

Please can we talk about the Emmys and not the ring bit.

  15. Holli Day - Actually, I would relish being bored, lol. Before she left, I told Baby Mama that I wanted to do recipe posts and talk about cooking, but since only one person other than me wanted it, it didn't fly.

Unless, of course, I could bore the "h" people into going somewhere else, and then I would do it, lol.

Maybe covertly our goal was to have confusion to all but the regulars ( Can we get another rumor going?). In consultation with Baby Mama, the timing was to wait to do my position letter until after her post was up and to not allow posts to the letter.

Got email about that. So in the interest of fairness, I went back to the "Letter" and added that comments were open in the post below (meaning this one.)

  16. Jon's radio show with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach is at the same time as the Emmys.

I have chosen to watch the Emmys. If somebody chooses not to watch, and you listen to the radio show, let us know. I hope it goes well for Jon. At least his agent is getting him jobs and that's a good thing.

I'd add a quick poll about the dress color but there is still a poll going. And, the fact that that's one of the things I don't understand how to do.

So far over several posts we have multiple guesses of blues, multiple guesses of reds, I think one white, and one green.

    GREAT KATE! And gorgeous.

BTW, Linda, if the Emmy excitment dies down, and I don't think it will, go for the recipes. I gave up cooking when I found Whole Foods and Wegmans...But I don't have 8 kids.

: ) Happy Emmy night! (Hope BabyMama gets to see Kate while in Disney)

  29. Hello everyone! Alas I will only be on tonight, then I will not be one for about a week and a half. So lets say hi and goodbye but only for a brief moment! So sad I missed the Emmys tonight :(

I put up a poll just for Linda, but can't do anymore since the pool is finally closed for the night and I have the hardship of getting the kids to sleep! Wonderful to be away, and I will shutting off my life for a bit and enjoying my vacation like I should be!

I'm so surprised no one mentioned Kate's dancing tonight. Did anyone watch the end of the skit? Of course for my favorite Kate fans I wan't to be the FIRST to get it up for you. Please watch Kates moves at the end on the right side of the stage, it's hysterical!

Kate shined tonight and I am so amazed and proud of her. I did not get to see this on TV and forgot in my haste to get the heck out of doge to DVR it. So I must just enjoy here and get to hear how Kate was on the Red Carpet through all my ladies.

I thank Linda for not only being a great friend, but putting the blog in her hands is the best thing I could have ever done. Be patient with her with the posting, till I'm able to work with her more to make the process smoother. I took down the expalanation post mainly because the note excited the trolls to much and frankly its none of their business what my business is. Please stop obsessing over me, it's not healthy ;)

This post will mainly be about the Emmys. I may not be able to get a separate post up for the new episode of Kate Plus 8 quickly. But for those that are only able to watch the show on my site, I will get it up as soon as possible so please be patient as it may not be Monday. Again I'm on vacation. lol

And finally I want to chime in with Linda, that if Kate is away at the Emmy's what the heck is Jon doing with a Rabbi? Shouldn't he be at home with the kids? That is so thoughtless of him. So confused, let me know what all that is about and if anyone got to hear it. I also need Gost Bar scoop. Ellen bragged on Tiwtter all night about DC. I need the scoop as to how it went. Love the details anyone finds out!

My life is as wonderful as it can be, but like any time away there is always the return back to reality. That's why I need to put the computer aside this week and focus on the gift that is my family. xoxoxoxoxox

    ReplyDelete
  30. Kate looked awesome but still couldn't dance. LOL. Have fun Baby Mama, I am jealous.

did anyone hear how Jon's job went?

    I can't wait for tomorrow's show.

Sadly, I think Jon wasn't thinking about how he could support Kate in going to the Emmy's by looking after the kids, I suspect he thought - how can I one up her, maybe by hanging out with Schmuley.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Did Kate interview anyone on the red carpet?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Kate's doing the after party interviews and will be on Entertainment Tonight with Mary Hart on Monday,

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am thinking that Jon would say that he didn't have custody tonight and that Kate wouldn't let him have the kids since it wasn't his custody. I also assume he would say this without even having discussed it with her, it would just be an excuse. It is something that if I was the Rabbi and discussing parenting with him, I would be taking up with him, but I know that isn't what happened. The one I see benefitting from the experience is not Jon, but Rabbi Schmulley.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hmmm..... The Red Carpet analysis gave her a rating last night of "Fashion Hit." Sad that TMZ got it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Linda--your're up early! I am really looking forward to seeing Kate with Mary Hart plus Kate Plus 8 tonight. Also, I'm so happy Kate got the
opportunity to be on the Emmys and hope more and more doors are opening for her and maybe she will take over for Mary Hart.

Good for you Kate. You're living "The Dream".

    ReplyDelete
  36. Good morning Corrina. We have early school start times here. Youngest have to be at school at 7:30 M-Th but the tradeoff is they only go a half day on Fridays - long weekends or choice of staying at school and they do volunteer projects in the community.

I'm happy she got the opportunity also. I agree with Corrina in that Kate is living "The Dream."

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love that Corrina, you are absolutly right. She is living "The Dream" Last night must have been the best night of her life. I am so excited for her.

Cant wait and will be waiting to see how she did on ET

    ReplyDelete
  38. One of the things I liked most about the Emmys, is that it had nothing to do with the kids.

Kate really does have comedic timing down to a "T." She knows she'll never, at this stage of her life, be a super dancer. She's said, "My dancing, not so good." She said she thought Fallon's parody of her before was funny. I think it was terrific that she was asked and that she doesn't hesitate to make light and poke fun at so many things. I wonder if the tabloid media even realized that she was also poking fun at them a little.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Let's see how it stands. IMO:

TMZ and E! are in direct competition. Usually whatever position one takes, the other is opposite. Kate's going to be on E so TMZ bashes.

US initially called Kate's dress, chic. Usually they flip flop later and waffle on their position. Too early to call.

HuffyPuffy gets a lot of their photos from INF, INF wasn't allowed inside to catch the scoop. Will they,?, it's HuffyPo, what are you expecting.

The other tabloids will re-write banners to take what happened and give it a spin - because Kate mock shoved as a part of the skit, it will be re-written as "Kate shuns..." or spins on that.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Linda--It's nice to have long weekends--it's also so good for them to do volunteer projects in the community---what a good way for the kids to start out.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I agree with your analysis Linda O about the TMZ and E, etc. I think reporting outlets think that they are creating controversy when they choose the negative side of the story. Thus, they get more readers. However, Kate looked great last night and they know it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am going to play devil's advocate and suggest that maybe Jon is more altruistic than I give him credit for. Maybe he was thinking that Kate is at the Emmy's so people would be wondering what is Jon up to.

He then chose to take this opportunity and be in the spot light. Putting himself out there increases his market-ability, increasing his income.

Rabbi Shmuley is actually highly respected and does offer good advice. Maybe Jon is trying to raise money and is choosing the best media opportunities he can find... much like Kate.

Maybe people are thinking wow Kate is making money and Jon is improving his parenting skills, things are looking up for them.

fascinated - I'd really like to believe that. Really! I'll give him credit for NOT filing another custody/child support lawsuit on Friday before the Emmys.

I used to respect Rabbi Shmuley before the whole Michael Jackson fiasco. I've already discussed that before so I won't bore people.

Jon's last appearance with Rabbi Shmuley (with the sold tickets to the synagogue) was such an embarrassment that I'm so glad for Jon's sake that it was radio and not another televised session.

  45. LOL Linda O.

I didn't watch the rest of the Emmys, does anyone know if Kate was in the audience or if they showed her after the opening skit?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Kate's black dress and hair were outstanding. I don't care what the "experts" say. I think Claire Danes was the Best Dressed of everyone. Admirable and talented young woman.

I loved that Kate was in the last row of her "dancing class". Like watching my youngest daughter who looked more like an athlete when she was in recitals!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I wouldn't be surprised if some variation of that red dress isn't sold as a Halloween costume this year. Where is ET based out of, I see it being a problem for her to do more than guest host without moving the whole family and I see selling her house as a problem and I don't think Jon would be too happy with that kind of plan. She would do great, but I just don't know if it could happen.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Tashapork - I feel those are all valid points. TV rumor mill (how accurate have no idea) is that Entertainment tonight is looking for an East Coast correspondent/host that connect back and forth to Mary Hart or other on the West Coast.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I also liked Kates dress. I don't always agree with the so called "experts". It seems that if someone goes out on a limb, the dress is a disaster, but if not the dress is safe or matronly.
So once again Kate can't win. She did something on her own and is blamed for not having her kids there.
And Jon....seriously ...you had to do a radio interview last night of all nights! HOLLY COW...if that was Kate scheduling something at the same time/after you...there would be no end to the bitching.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Tashapork I agree they are valid points. But Jon sure had no problem living away from the children and living on the West Coast when his bank account was flush.

But if ET could work Kate into a East Coast correspondent and or use her for some specials out in California I would be thrilled for Kate. I stand by my opinion that the industry sees Kate talents and knows that she can be developed further given time.

The Emmy opener is the number 1 pick in the polls and a big reason is because Jimmy knew having Kate in it would make it rock!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Sorry but I don't believe there are altruistic motives behind Jon's activities. Not when the National Enquirer now has stories out there from an "insider" saying the kids feel like Kate is their boss and they call Ellen Mom.

    http://www.timesoftheinternet.com/147642.html

    ReplyDelete
  52. Tashapork - uh, we were all mostly kidding about Kate replacing Mary Hart. I dawned on me that some might know that Lara Spencer of Insider will be taking Hart's position (CBS doe both Insider and Entertainment Tonight.) Supposedly Hart is leaving because her $5mil salary was cut to half this year. Kate could learn to be an East Coast correspondent but she doesn't have the depth of experience to host it alone and Hart's successor has been named.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Entertainment Tonight is taped and not usually live.

    ReplyDelete
  54. PAR - Isn't that about the biggest bunch of BS you've heard? I wish Jon and Elken well, but she would be perhaps actually better off to practice being a wife before she tries on being a mom. Or, do the math. To "parent" the twins, for example, she would have to imagine herself giving birth at what, age 12? If Jon now feels he was too young to be a father, can he not imagine what he'd be doing to Ellen?

    ReplyDelete
  55. radar online has changed their tune about Kate and the kids. They used words such as "spectacular" and "blonde beauty" when discussing Kate and her dress and "adorable" when talking about the kids.

I wonder why the change of heart. Maybe they have less access to pictures and want to butter Kate up. LOL.

  56. Dolly--ITA that the industry sees that Kate has talents that can be developed. It seems that she at least has a foot in the door.

I just read that too, Linda, that after 30 years, Mary Hart's salary was cut.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh, I think Kate would be great as an East Coast correspondent or in special events as she is now. I just don't think she would take a Monday through friday fulltime California gig at this point. Then she would have to sell the house and transplant everyone, which I can see her doing possibly at some point in the future, but not now, or give custody to Jon and let the kids be "mothered" by Ellen, which I hate that I am so biased, but it just gives me the creeps, or the kids would truely be raised by Nannies and I don't see Kate going for that. I believe she has the talent for any of these opportunities, I just see her working her kids into the equation as she did with Dancing with the Stars, it was short term, she worked from home as much as possible, and did the best she could for her kids. As far as Jon living in California, its a little different when your kids are home with Mom and you can hop on a plane every other weekend to see them. I just don't see Kate seeing the kids every other week end on a permanent basis

  58. PRNewswire had the info on Mary Hart about a month ago.

Don't know why it's resurfacing again now.

I think speculation on Kate & E is mostly just here, kind of "wouldn't it be great..." but not much based in reality. Mary Hart did have the big interview of Jon &Hailey and Jon's walkout. Gosh, how long ago was that...

  59. I know so little about Ellen that I wouldn't know how I view her. I just hope she sticks around for Jon's sake.

  60. Linda, I don't know how old this news was--I read it online and didn't find a date for that report.

  61. Thanks Corrina. It's a really cute one, too; thanks for reminding us,

  62. I'm hoping I don't offend anyone and I really mean it as a compliment to Kate, but I really don't think that dress was the best dress for her. I like the fact that it's classic and not over done but I don't think the top does her justice. The top part (the shinier black) ends at an awkward spot on her torso. With the way she looks so well-endowed with that style top, it would have looked so much better for her if it ended a little higher or continued a little further down the dress.

I really like her hair though. In my opinion she looks younger with shorter hair.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Welcome jcmets. You are entitled to your opinion and I don't think you'll offend anyone with your comments, lol, at least certainly not what you've said so dar.

Personally, I like the longer hair but thought the up do was very nice looking.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I thought the dress was cute. Black is a good color on her.

I thought she did fantastic on the Emmys. She's starting to be more at ease in front of the live cameras. The whole skit was great.

  65. TLC is showing the past two Kate Plus Eight episodes. How wonderful.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Kate did identify that she arranges for Jon to have custody of the kids when she is travelling.

And I cry everytime I hear her parting speech on DWTS.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I just watched E! News and Kate was good in her small interview with Guiliana. She was asked again if she was dating! Her answer...I'm actually starting to think that way...could be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think Jon has started his "veiled" attempt to get "control" of the "eight". Geez...that sounds so ridiculous? The "unnamed source" story about Ellen as "mom" and Kate as their "boss" is really sickening. Just when you think people can't sink any lower.

I really am so sick of this. I can't even imagine how Kate feels.

Looking forward to Kate and the kids in New York.

    ReplyDelete
  69. CMO3 - I thought it looked like Kate was having fun. She was gorgeous. And now we can speculate on whom. Thinking about it is a step forward. Good for you Kate.

  70. Folks who are used to watching the show here on the next day...I think perhaps Baby Mama will arrange to have that happen. :)

  71. I think it would be great for Kate to start dating again. She definitely needs someone as strong as her. Someone to help her develop personally as opposed to being a parent to their partner. I am sure she has access to a lot of mature, strong men now. Should be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Will she be the one to do the part tomorrow on DWTS announcement for next season.

  82. Wow those kids amaze me, I know teenagers who would have been whiny and complainy in the heat and such. I notice and actually if I look back have noticed for awhile that Kate like me has Claustrophobia, tight spaces really stress her out, look at how she is about her kitchen. I can relate. I noticed that she had a totally different reaction with the messy ice cream this time around. My mouth watered at the dim sum. I noticed there will be an episode next week, I wonder about the week after.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Tashapork - I believe the show will be on weekly Mondays at 9 pm,eastern, but will be reruns until the next special in mid September. I agree with the little bit of claustrophobia but also feel it's the larger groups of people pressing nearer the kids also. There is no way this striking blond and her 8 kids can ever travel anywhere without recognition. After the paparazzi blitz from bars & Hummelgate, that isn't going to happen. I enjoyed last night's show. Oh so typical behavior from six-yo's to Tweeners.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Folks - I have no idea when a new post will go up; I'd like to leave this one up so last night's show can be added. I shall do the best I can, it's all new to me, and it's drama time here with my Tweeners version of "As the Siblings Turn". With the approach of Hurricane Earl, real life comes first (batten down & stay safe friends.) I will be catching up as I can, and will allow the posts here to run really long in number if need be. Be patient with my learning curve, chat about the Emmys or the episode last night. Thanks.

  85. My family and I were excited when we watched the dim sum part. We love dim sum and were laughing when these delicious plates were being introduced and Kate's face said it all.

  86. Hello, this is the first time I post, but I been reading for a long time... I just want to let you know that Jon posted his radio interview with the rabbbi, and all I can say is that both dissed Kate alot, and the rabbi was constantly pressing Jon to say negative things about her...In other topic , I liked yesterday's show, but it wasn't one of my favorites, I tought it highlighted Kate's "bad side" or attitude that the haters love to hate.... I understad all the situations she was in, and probably every single mom would have reacted the same way, but I think this episode will add to the " lets hate Kate fire" because she had the meltdown at the gift shop, and was kind of rude ( as I would have been too) and wave to people in the bus.... Im looking forward next week episode... I really like Kate and the kids, and I really wish them the best, and hope TLC portraits her in better light next episode :)

    ReplyDelete
  87. fascinated - I enjoyed the meal in the Chinese restaurant also. We do dim sum because it works with our family. I liked that Kate said I don't know that much about Asian food but it sounds good, the restaurant is air conditioned, etc. I thought it was "priceless" when all those little dishes and steamers started arriving and she had no idea what the food was. She was a good sport about it and some I think they enjoyed. I think it's probably best that Kate not know about some of the traditional ingredients used in dim sum.

My Chinese American friends tell me that in China it's served mostly for breakfast or early morning there. We do it for dinner and it seems to work for us.

What a learning experience that New York trip was for both Kate and the 8. Hot yes, just as it was hot for everybody visiting then. Fun, yes, but a lot of learning about the greater world beyond their own little corner of it.

And they got to see the "Green Lady." Many little kids call her the "Statue of Liverty" instead of Liberty. So many memories brought back. Maybe a future trip could include a visit to Ellis Island; we've really enjoyed our visits there.

I enjoyed Kate's climb to the navigational area of the ferry. Her comment reading her shoes and climbing the rungs, "What? They're just heels. I can make it up there." I would have broken my neck doing it but I give Kate credit for not being intimidated and just doing it!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Welcome Elizabeth. - Interesting points. No matter how often Jon jabs at Kate, she isn't doing it in return. I don't think he has a clue about how it makes him look: the timing of the interview was not the best, his remarks better left unsaid, continuing the drama not good toward getting new gigs. But ahhh. That's just Jon.

Those who dislike (hate) Kate will do it no matter what she does. They live in the past much like I'm afraid Jon does. The interview did sound a lot like "I'm gearing up for round zillion of taking Kate back to court" didn't it.

Instead of dissing Jon, what Kate said in the show when seeing the Chinese characters on a sign, "Look, that's Asian writing. Daddy could tell you what that says because he reads Korean."

    ReplyDelete
  89. Thank you Linda! you are right Jon and the "anti -Kate" people will not move on , no matter how she acts .... have a great day!

  90. Elizabeth, I listened to the radio show this morning and I thought that a lot of the Rabbi's questions were very leading as to "let's make Kate look bad". As to the whole context of the Jon portion of the radio I'll keep my opinion to myself.
Just to be clear I don't think the sun rises and sets with Kate but at least she is trying. Not only to support her kids but to have a life also.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Linda & Elizabeth - This morning I just listened to Jons' interview. I don't see where he was dissing Kate. Yes, the Rabbi was trying to pull info out of him, but I think he was trying really hard to choose his words wisely. Also, no matter what he says at this point in the game of life, no one on this site is going to be on his side, LOL!

Except maybe 2! I hope he writes that book. I did not know he moved back to the nieghborhood Sp?, where he grew up. He is going to have a hard time now getting the kids off TV. IMO, it is too late, unless Kate stashes enough money away so she doesn't have to work very much longer. When the twins are 16 to 18 years old, they can take themselves off TV if they want to.
    JMHO!

  92. #1 caregiver - See, difference of opinion. I respect your opinion, btw, and feel you are entitled to it.

Let me go on the record again: I was a HUGE Jon fan. I just haven't found, IMO, much to respect in the last year. I want very much to be a huge Jon fan again. I wish to Jon health, happiness, and love (okay and a job also.) I hope his love is with Ellen, and I wish them well as a couple. I want to be on "his side" again.

  93. Celebrity spiritual adviser rabbi Shmuley Boteach can only handle one Gosselin at a time, so Kate Gosselin is out of luck. “I’m not up to that yet,” Shmuley told PopEater after his public confession with with Jon Gosselin. “Right now I can only focus on Jon.”
    November 4th, 2009 10:46 am / Author: Nicole Eggenberger
IF that is his stance, why does this Rabbi feel justified slamming Kate. Not that she would want or need his advice anyway, but the principle of it. I actually think that except for not refusing the interview in the first place which would have been best, Jon did what especially for him was an excellent job due to the circumstance. The Rabbi needs to get on the bash Kate wagon to get ratings, and what a great way than to get Jon to bash Kate. I really don't think Jon expected this, I think Jon espected to talk about himself. I actually feel bad for him for a change.

    ReplyDelete
  94. tashapork - IMO it was not a good thing with the Rabbi's "time" with Jon before. Jon got ridiculed by the turn out (lack thereof) for his public session with the Rabbi. (price charged for admission and tickets didn't sell very well).

I used to watch the Rabbi's TLC program; it seemed like a nice premise. TLC cancelled the show. I'm not sure if the Rabbi is able to put aside those feelings or if some of this is directed at TLC.

The Rabbi's fiasco with the foundation he set up with Michael Jackson turned me off. The Rabbi's relatives were among the foundation board, btw; despite appearances by Jackson to raise funds, not one penny ever went to the listed cause, because "expenses were higher than generated funds." Then when the Rabbi sold the book on Jackson essentially, IMO, discussing the things they discussed in "sessions", it saddened me greatly.

Many people still support the Rabbi; I'm just not one of them and it happened long before Jon and the Rabbi. (I'm not Jewish but open to teachings from many sources, btw.) The Rabbi is also a regular contributor to the Huffington Post. I'm trying to find the thread on here when much of this was discussed along with citations and sources. (One day I'll get that index done, lol.)

    ReplyDelete
  95. I used to like the Rabbi's show, but it seems that in this interview he is preaching exactly the opposite that he preached in Shalome in the home. In his show, he would not or not want the father to bash the mother. I agree that personal issues with TLC could be involved and I just think the Rabbi, maybe not even intentionally is using Jon as he did MJ for his own personal gain without looking at the ramifications for the other person. He may think he is helping Jon, but really he is hurting him and helping himself with ratings and publicity and such. I did notice Jon admit that he also has to look out for himself when making decisions about the kids' filming and that he talks to them about their preferences. I appreciate the honesty, even if it was a slip up.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I see some people thought along the same lines as me! I loved last nights episode. It showed a typical family vacation. Sometimes I have a hard time watching the trips when I know that they closed down for the Gosselins. I felt sorry for Kate and the kids in the gift shop. I don't think I could have just stood there and watched. I would have tried to give them space. I'm sure Kate was short tempered and snippy but she was just trying to get souvenirs and had to worry about protecting her kids at the same time. I noticed how easily Kate talked about Jon's mom. She didn't hesitate to bring her up. I also don't think she was staging for the camera's either. Kate has always been pround of her kid's Korean heritage. I don't think that has changed.

I haven't heard Jon's interview with the Rabbi. I also used to be a huge Jon fan. I really hope he can make a life for himself. It seems like he has been drifting along the last year instead of moving forward. Maybe now he is starting to move forward.

  97. Robin - Ive decided to delete your post and my response to it. Take it up with Baby Mama when she returns. I need to listen to the entire show again, line by line.

Whether you are a "new"Robin, the "old Robin, or the once upon a time Robin who posted as Linda, prompting me to change my screen name and avatar, I don't have time to sort out right now. You are welcome to come back when Baby Mama returns and try again.

  99. Robin wrote a comment in response to Linda that I do not see anymore but I think it is an important point. Kate did not mention Jon in reference to the store writing. She mentioned their grandma. Also, Koren is different then Chinese and making them seem as one is not fair.
I just hope the comment wasn't purposely deleted because it doesn't support the idea that Kate always talks fondly of Jon.

    ReplyDelete
  100. fallingstar - I wrote a response to Robin. Please read up.
I think her point valid but I need to re-listen to the entire show.

We have had a Robin on here who was not very nice.

All of us here know that there is a difference between Chinese, Korean, Japanese in both culture and language. The Gosselins children in the past have referred to themselves as Asian.
Please see Season 4, Episode 5, first aired on July 14, 2008.

I need to go back and listen line by line to the show. I cannot do that at present. Thus I wrote a response to Robin above.

    ReplyDelete
  101. You may also note, way above Robin's post, that I reported blogger problems. I've had more than a dozen emails about blogger error messages. I'm doing my best to check out each and every one. I am but one person, doing all I can, in Baby Mama's absence.

The comment was initially made in response to the "What was Jon doing while Kate was at the Emmys," and that while Jon enjoys dissing Kate, she doesn't respond. If you are posting so you can carry it to a nasty site, have at it.

I also asked that if Robin disagreed, she please take it up with Baby Mama when she returned. Best I can do. Don't like it, she will return and you can chat with her then.

  102. Ladies, I have not finished reading all the above post, but will do soon. I think I need to listen to the interview again because I have to hear it again to make sure how that Rabbi worded things about Kate. I like to put my support in the right spot, instead of foot in mouth! LOL!

Just for the record, I never heard of this Rabbi before Jon, so I am judging with an open Mind.

  104. Fox 411 reported this morning at 11:20 a.m.
    according to Kelly Will
    http://entertainment.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/08/31/exclusive-kate-gosselin-single-now-ready-to-mingle/?test=faces
    This is a Fox Blog

EXCLUSIVE: Kate Gosselin single, now ready to mingle
Kate Gosselin is sick of being single, and now she's ready to mingle.
Yep, the mom of eight is ready to date!
    (Okay we'll stop rhyming now.)
A source close to the 'Kate Plus 8' star tells FOX411.com that after six years of scheduling herself around her kids, now that they're finally all in school at the same time, she's ready to get back out on the market.

"She is considering dating, as long as it doesn't take away from being with the children," said the insider. "Kate never really imagined what her life would be like with the sextuplets in school most of the day. She and Jon used to talk about it like it was a far off dream when they were raising them and now that it's real and Jon is out of her life, it's surreal."

So what kind of guy is Kate looking for? Other than the rare individual who doesn't have a problem taking on eight children not his own?

"Kate's dream man will be mature, smart and nothing like (her ex-husband) Jon!" said our source. "He will have to pass her serious checklist of being a responsible, kind and mature adult. She will be avoiding anyone who wants to date her based on her fame or money. It's tricky and she will be very picky — no blind dates!"

One thing is for sure, the guy won't have to worry about her ex interfering "Jon lives in his own world. He does his best not to focus on Kate's single life," the insider said.

Whoever the lucky guy is will be getting one hot mama.

"She's been enjoying extra long workouts and runs every day. She's in the best shape of her life," her pal blabbed. "Kate still has plenty of chaos, especially with nightly homework getting done, but she has quiet time that she never had in the house. It's almost too much quiet time."

  111. I tell ya what, Kate is getting SO comforable with that mic in her hand. She did REALLY REALLY good tonight. First I know she is enoying herself, and second I think this is something she could see herself do longterm.

Linda you are so right, I did the same thing. That was halarious. Just the fact that she can use her experience even if she didnt do that well and use it to laugh at herself is amazing. Then again she has always said if you cant laugh at yourself then you shouldnt do it. Thats the awesome part of her personality that is so attractive, her humor.

  116. This "Holy Man" and his interview with Jon is pure crap. He has no business involving himself in their divorce matters and especially taking sides as he obviously has. I bet the man has never bothered to even speak to Kate and yet he has the gall to direct this interview in such a way as to make Kate look like a "seeker of fame" and Jon the humble grass roots father wanting what is best for his kids. Another lame attempt, during the Emmys no less, for Jon to try and diss Kate and thus elevate himself.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Notice at the snake pit ROL that they have a very favorable write-up and pics regarding Kate's dress at the Emmys. They had a stylist critique Kate's choice of dress and jewelry...plus rave comments on her figure. I thought she was stunning and could hold her own with anyone else there! Eat your heart our Jon!

  120. Okay, just watched the China Town section again. There is a reference to Asian writing, then a sign referred to Asian writing and Gammy either "could" or "could not" read that 'cause she reads Korean. (I can't catch which) then the reference to Gammy, as Jon's grandmother not his mother. Then the dim sum. I loved the reference when Cara was asked in the interview what she had to eat and she said wryly, "a lot of interesting things." You can buy Japanese or Chinese teapots in China Town, btw. Again, the Gosselins generally say Asian and then specifically Korean. Please refer to the episode cited above, called, Jon Cooks Korean, where the kids debate who's the most Asian.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Another favorite, in reference to Kate driving the boat, Cara's reference to her mom, "I'm pretty sure we all going to be dead in about 10 seconds." So typical of. tweener. And, Mady at first not wanting to pose on the wall for Jamie making the photo. There's always one who does that. My sister, as an adult asked why all the family group photos of her were with covered head or turned head. She would never pose until finally giving up my mother would say, "Just take the photo." I adore Mady. Anybody else have other favorites from this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I genuinely don't know the names to any of the kids other than Aaden, only because he has glasses. I am horrible with names. : )

The milkshake scene was one of my favorites. The child who all of a sudden wants a milkshake while everyone else has to have ice cream reminded me of my son. My son wants something different and has no clue that I am chosing the item that works the best for all and me. Instead of rolling with it, he has a total melt down.

Then when he is in the same situation, he gets frustrated with the person who is refusing to fall in line. I say to him - I find that you do this sometimes; how should we handle this - and he says to me - well we will just tell them that they don't have a choice just like you tell me.

    I love it.

  125. Good Morning! Kate did a great job on ET last night. It's so good to see her happy and funny--another "shining moment" for her.

Last night I saw the New York episode. I'm getting used to not seeing Jon now--the first few Kate Plus 8's were a little sad for me to watch with all that happened to change their lives. But now- I'm getting used to not seeing Jon and seeing Jamie instead. She really is a a good helper for Kate and the kids seem to love her.

In Chinatown, I thought she said Gammy could read the signs. I really liked the show. It was fun to see their ride to the Statue of Liberty as they got closer. It was just so crowded in the gift shop, I felt bad for Kate and the kids being mobbed. The show does make me want to visit New York. The kids are growing up so fast and Mady has her braces off.
Kate has surely mastered wearing heels-I loved her sprint with the ice cream cones.

  126. 1Caregiver - Thank you. Southport,BHI, & Wilmington likely to just get winds & choppy water. The northern NC barrier islands called the Outer Banks are more likely to be hit; there's only one road out Hwy 12, so please evacuate if advised. From there north to Maine, take care.

I agree with you Caregiver. NC for example has been hard hit in recent years with textiles and furniture manufacturing shifting overseas. Tourism is a major with Labor Day weekend being a big deal, particularly with less travel in a struggling economy; many hoteliers, restaurants etc. will be hard hit. Safety is foremost but this will hurt.

  127. Jons' interview with the Rabbi, I liked it!

Yes, the Rabbi asked questions about J&Ks problems before and since the separation. Jon handled them very cautiously in my opinion. His answers were stating things like: I can't speak for Kate, Her career is her choice and things like that. I do not think Jon was at all dissing Kate. The topic for awhile was Fame and Fortune, and how it affects people. Jon admitted he got carried away by it and regrets it and is trying to settle in to a normal way of life for him and the kids.

His last Q was: Is there tension between you and Kate? He answered: Yes, there is Off TV. They left it at that. Yes, the Rabbi was fishing and pumping Jon for info but didn't get much. Good for you Jon. Best interview you have done yet.

    ReplyDelete
  128. FYI - Linda, I was not able to watch anything on Monday because I had great company stop by. TV went off at 7PM and we gabbed until 10:30. Missed all my shows, but it was MRL.
Have a great day, I gotta go!

    ReplyDelete
  129. #1 - Difference of opinion but I respect your choice. While I think Jon did well for Jon, the inconsistencies just get me. Kate is chastised by the Rabbi for continuing to pursue television " at the Emmys right now" which had nothing to do with the kids but when Jon asked about what he was pursuing, "television" among other things. He said they did more than 50 shows one season, highest was 41 - perhaps seems a lot but not nearly what he quoted; some of those filming split into multiple shows eg the trip to the Outer Banks was multiple shows. When asked what he should not have done or what got him away from the path. Jon's answer: "I should have stayed away from the clubbing and bars" Excuse me but didn't he just do a bar appearance gig. So, a difference of opinion. What I came away with was, he wishes he hadn't gotten caught in bars and clubbing but okay now for him to do bar and casino appearances. Wrong for Kate to pursue television such as the Emmys because it takes her away from the kids but okay for him to pursue television. He meets Ellen mid April after just ending relationship with Morgan Christie and one month later he is already sure enough of his love for Ellen to introduce her to his kids. Just seven months before that, Hailey was the "love of his life...better than he ever loved Kate" there's the intervening Morgan and now it's Ellen. I sincerely hope itbis Ellen with whom he is sustaining but after only 4& 1/2 months it's too doggone early to know. JMO and you are most entitled to yours.
