Still Loving Kate Plus 8 & Now More! Tom Murt MUST Embarass Himself Again, 2011 Reality TV Convention!

Hello Gosselin fans! Though I didn't want that troll Tom Murt to get any more of my time I wanted to you be aware that he doesn't like to be kicked in the head and be told to "buzz off". It really embarrassed him. So now he's back for round two. Making sure he does WHATEVER he can do to get himself to look good in the voters eyes, tell me what YOU think about his article. Also I would love your thoughts on the First Annual Reality TV Convention. This announcement comes on the heels of the incredibly successful ComicCon. Would you go? Do you think it can be as successful or better? I also included a short clip of last night. I love the info added to Kate Plus 8 so much, I want it permanently added. What do you think? Are these to many questions to comment on? Lol. Those that do not know how to comment please feel free to e-mail me at jonkatefanpage@gmail.com. It's very easy, and it's free!

Reality TV Convention Planned for 2011!: TVGuide.com

What would happen if you put Snooki and Kate Gosselin in the same room? Would they duke it out over who has the better signature hairstyle? We may find out at next year's inaugural reality television convention. The three-day Reality Rocks Expo — produced by Billboard and Hollywood Reporter owner e5 Global Media — will take place next April at the Los Angeles Convention Center, according to The Associated Press. The honorary advisory committee includes American Idol judge Randy Jackson and The Biggest Loser executive producer J.D. Roth. Expo organizers say that fans will be able to interact with contestants, judges, hosts and other reality TV personalities. The event will also include autograph sessions, performances and an awards show. Would you attend?

Murt Wins Key Child-Labor Law Victory??: MyFoxPhilly.com

PHILADELPHIA - Local GOP state rep. Tom Murt has convinced a Democratic state committee to hold child-labor hearings speared on by Jon and Kate Gosselin’s TV show. Murt, the Montgomery County state rep who has held local hearing on the Gosselins last spring, will testify at the hearing this fall in Harrisburg. Former child star and kids’ labor advocate Paul Petersen will also testify. Murt got his state house rivals to hold the hearing on reforming the state’s child-labor law despite pressure from television industry lobbyists. Last month, Murt tried to get the Pennsylvania Labor Department and attorney general Tom Corbett to investigate the Gosselin family and their production company after Murt said they filed illegal work permits for Jon and Kate Gosselin’s sextuplets. The department declined Murt’s request.

Murt didn’t agree with the Labor Department's actions."I still believe L&I must seek the advice from the Attorney General on this apparent inconsistency in the law and the work permits," he said. Murt said it should be up to Corbett, who is also running for governor, to decide if the Gosselin sextuplets can continue to appear on “Kate Plus 8, the successor show to “Jon And Kate Plus 8” that is filmed in suburban Reading, Pa.

  1. Kayla, thank you so much for letting us know that Kate has a new post up. Shes a better blogger than me now! You are such a great addition to the blog. Thank you! I wanted to bring your comment over, because I don't know if anyone answered you and I was curious myself..

Baby Mama, you must have missed the blurb @ the bottom of the screen it said Kate Plus 8 Mondays @9/8c starting Aug 30th. I take this to mean every Monday. I am not sure, but that's what it said. Did anyone else see that?

  2. OMG Baby Mama - Had to follow you here! Katz's delicatessen! One of my all time favorites! I'm pretty much a Southern steel magnolia at heart, but my oh my how I miss the NYC delis. Whether it's Stage Door, oh whatever, I spend my time in NY hitting the delis as much as shopping, plays, or work. I'm sending off an online order for rugalach as we speak! My hubby, a midwesterner by birth, was never a NYC fan until I insisted he accompany me in a business trip last year. I tried to show him what I had loved there once upon a time, dragged him into deli after deli, ordering from restaurants at 11 pm and having it delivered to the hotel, TKTS in case of something great. What memories you've brought back.

  3. Schmecky~ I normally never buy anything from Famous Footwear because of the shipping online and there is none by me. But the sale is fantastic (buy1get1+20%off)and I got my kids school shoes without having to make an entire day driving hours to the outlets. (2 pairs of Twinkle Toes) I appreciate you letting me know!

Regardless of our opposing views (you and I NEED to both get on The Insider) You always hook me up. I appreciate it.

  4. Now, about your questions. My guess is Murt is going to try to ramrod through another round of one sided hearings. We can only hope the brighter people in Philadelphia with specters of the Liberty Bell, will call his hand. Maybe, maybe not. It still saddens me that this state is more concerned about licensure requirements for cemetery plot salespeople than for social workers. More concerned about people from CA and Baltimore making statements along with JoKe duo again. Sad that after the paparazzi frenzy he's not taken a single step to stop them from stalking minors.

  5. Linda~ I hate corned beef. That place smells so good walking in I had to try it. It was deleicious and so was my pickle :)

Sorry the post is so late. I was tired of the debate about Jon and wanted to put something fresh up. But feel free if need be to take any comments from the other post and bring them here if you want to discuss them!

  6. A dog has to have a license, tags, and shots but not a social worker? Does that make sense???

    ReplyDelete
  7. As I see it:
Pro Kate Fans speculate about the pap & Jon.

Non Kate fans and semi-Jon fans speculate about the opposite about pap& Jon.

Give it up, because you will never agree, Just agree to disagree.

My op is on the OT, if anyone is interested in my OP.

Linda - what are you referring to when you mention dog license and social worker in the same sentence? I must have missed something!

Are you comparing apples to oranges? I don't get it.

  8. Social workers in PA are not required by the state to be licensed. Can you believe that? Murt's previous expert social worker was licensed at one time but license is lapsed. (Licenses in a state are public records and easily checked, caregiver. In Pa many occupations are licensed: cemetery plot salesman, campground membership salespeople, cosmetologists, nail techs, nurses and doctor of course, but NOT social workers. And, apparently you don't even have to have actually met or observed a child to render your opinion! Geez! No permits required for paparazzi. Licenses and permits required for dogs, but not paps.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Hmmm. When will parents rights come first? Should we be inventorying ever FaceBook page of children where patents have a PA connection? How about every You:Tube video of children from PA - you know, the ones so grandparents, family and friends can see the cute antics of little Jack? If these are shot outside the home, should the parents be required to have permits? Why the heck are paparazzi not required to be licensed AND have permits for videos shot in PA and then sold for distribution on the Internet? WHAT is the difference??? How many millions of people have viewed this INF video. I cannot find any recordvof a permit being issued to INF. Why not?

  10. Every time I hear Collin say "I love these chickens but I just can't get this" it melts my heart. What a cutie!

I enjoyed the pop ups too. I always enjoyed the repeat episodes of Lost that included subtitles with little interesting tid bits of information. It can be distracting though.

In answer to your question about reality TV convention. I would not go but then I am not really into going to that kind of event but I think my sister would love to go to something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not to beat a dead horse, but I don't think we can really know for sure whether Jon tipped off the pap for the drop-off scene. I think it's entirely possible that the pap saw the blue van parked outside Jon's apartment, and he waited and followed them. But for those that would interpret the scene to mean that the kids are going home to a chamber of horrors, note that we never hear any one of them say anything to the effect of "Daddy, don't make us go into that house" or "Daddy, don't make us live with mommy" or anything like that. It's simply a bunch of kids crying because they have to leave their daddy, nothing more and nothing less. As far as Mady and Cara not coming along on these visits, I think it's quite possible that they're having separate visitation times with him. It would be nice for them if they can visit their dad apart from their younger siblings, so that they can do more grown-up things with him. We just might not know about it because they can go in and out under the radar, that is, without the big blue van. Again, just pure speculation on my part.

  12. Since it's a new thread, I should have cited a source for lack of licensure of social workers in PA. Source: website for National Association of Social Workets, PA requirements.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Source for license requirements is public information. Google License verification Pennsylvania. All states maintain records of any licenses issued. Most states maintain an Internet based records system now. This is so you can verify credentials.

  14. Oh I so agree about the chickens. I thought it so cute when the boys were explaining they had chicken for dinner the night before but you don't eat "pet chickens." Giving them names, even sone of the same names was adorable.

  15. I might attend a reality tv convention if I won tickets and airfare. Or if I lived in the area. Don't think I'd pay to travel cross country to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Linda, that is sad that they are letting social workers give opinions that many potentially change the course of a family's life without proper lisensure. I know of a state that offers medicaid funded behavoral health services where the parents think that they are seeing actual trained therapists, and instead they basically get college students with a few weeks of training in parenting skills. The kids aren't getting important diagnoses because they aren't seeing actual therapists.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Teachers are required to have credentials, take renewal certification courses, as well as evaluations annually. They make recommendations for the grades and progress of their students based on personal knowledge of the students. Social workers in PA can practice with no license. Only "licensed" social workers must take continuing education courses.

  18. BM, I have a Famous Footwear within walking distance from me, but I never go in there because I can never find shoes to fit. Size 3-1/2 to 4's are very hard to find for an adult.

  19. I agree with Linda and tashapork sad state of affairs.

Oh and I too would go to reality show convention if someone paid my way. Sounds so fun.

    Thanks for fresh paper. ;)

  20. Thanks, Schmecky, for the Famous Footwear information. I ordered school shoes for the grandkids since they are here this week. It was nice to let them choose what they want to wear.

I would go to the reality show convention if I lived in the area.

As for the paps at the gate--my first thought was the same as previous posters--why doesn't Jon call ahead so someone is there to take the van when he arrives?--and do it inside the gate if he's not allowed to drive up to the house.

  21. Is Murt up for reelection. We could flood the local newspapers with letters to the editor about how much time he spends worrying about the Gosslins. I am sure most tax payers dont want their tax dollars spend that way. Just a suggestion.
Also hair stylist are required to have license so are dogs!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Linda, I didn't know you were referring to the social worker that was at the Murt hearing. I do agree all that practice in the field should be licensed and required to update their Ed. classes every so many years too. PA. and probably other States too are behind in this requirement.

All Licensing Laws for operating a Day Care were revised back in 2006 in MI and FL. and also other states. If I were to open another Center now, I could be the owner but would need to hire a Director that had all the necessary credentials. After being out of the field for more then 12 months I would have to renew everything and go back to school. I was Grandfathered in as Owner/Director. So I guess my point is that people should keep abreast of all req. in their field so they could easily meet them.

  23. Murt is doing the right thing for child labor laws. The wording of the law has to be spelled out better to apply to all children in Reality TV. It is not clear what applies to kids under 7, so IMO that is what needs to be done.
If it comes about because of the Gosselins and Figure 8 Productions so be it. Children need some protection in this area. Federal Laws should apply to, so all States would be the same. It is just going to take along time to get there.

I would never attend a Reality TV convention, even if someone paid my way. There are so many worthless shows on TV, and yes i do allot of channel surfing to find something I care to watch. It's Shark Week so I check in there if I am home.

Gotta go Grocery shopping now so CU

  24. Good morning everyone! #1Caregiver, its funny that you said you would never go to a reality convention..I was foaming at the mouth when I heard about this and I was like I "HAVE" to go and be a part of this next year for sure!

And while I think it great that there are child labor laws, this is the sneaky, nasty backhanded way to do it. Putting on attack mode, trashing the show, allowing Kates own family to attack her. Is this is all because he is up for re-election and he was made to look bad when he was initally dismissed?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Good morning all! After the Katz discussion yesterday and watching Train on the Today show this morning, I want to be in NYC big time!! Actually since I can't drive for 4 months, I'd settle for being able to run off any where.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Caregiver - I'm all for having guidelines, laws, permits to protect children from unsafe or excessive filming. I'm opposed to Murt's choices to testify as "experts": 1. an unlicensed social worker who'd never met the kids and never had exposure to filming herself or for her clients! She testified about long term effects, for example. (She sold a phony bill of goods. I was concerned enough that I wanted to know more!! I found out that she knows squat about filming, is unlicensed, and I question her experience, and she'd never met these kids.) 2) Jodi & Kevin. They had been "banned" from the kids for a year and a half but testified as if they saw them daily. I never viewed her as being watchful or attentive. Kids who are two/three view gum as candy (chew, spit out or swallow) If you gave it at all, maybe 1 piece. Then the crafting episode with candy where she says eat one piece but doesn't monitor - she's right there but doesn't look at kids- you see the tv "counter" click through 14 pieces! She knows the rules of the kids' own parents but chooses to blatantly ignore those and make her own. 3. Nobody from TLC or the production company was asked to speak. 4. Nobody with experience with multiples was invited to speak. Finally, I like to hear both sides. If I thought TLC/production company were wrong, I'd want to ask them questions, wouldn't you?

  27. You're welcome Baby Mama and Corrina!!! Glad the FF Sale worked out for you.

Sorry, I didn't make it back to the old thread before it closed.

    Linda "Original" said...
Excuse me, but there is a colossal difference SG. TLC films at the request of the parents. Not you, not me, at the request of the parents. This is something they decide.
    ----------------------------------------------

So if Jon did set it up that the paps filmed the kids crying when he leaves them then by this reasoning it would be okay. Jon is their parent. If he allows a pap to film his children screaming and crying then it should be okay since he decided it. Or does it not apply to Jon?

I disagree. I don't think it's right for Jon or Kate to allow filming of their children, especially when they are distressed, whether it's TLC or paps. Even if they are getting paid by TLC or the paps. Even if they are putting some of that money towards the kids, either by TLC or the paps. No difference in my eyes.

I think the only ones that should be able to give informed consent of being filmed is the person being filmed. The children are not old enough to voice their opinions at being filmed. They are upset in a situation. Then on top of that they have to voice their displeasure at being filmed?

I don't recall either parent ever asking TLC to stop filming. The only time I recall any bounderies is when they were going to film in Kate's kitchen. She wouldn't allow it. I only recall Mady physically showing her not wanting to be filmed by putting her hand up to the camera and by putting a sign up on her door.

SM you should never make any kind of speculation about Kate unless and/or until you walk a very long distance in her shoes. Since you so obviously dislike Kate and always, always tend to hold Jon blameless or give him a pass then try to justify your words by backpedaling then I am glad you are not my mother or in my circle of family and friends.

Puff~ thank you so much for your great post. It was really nice to see all of you have such a respectful debate on this important topic!
    -----------------------------------------

Gee thanks. LOL!! You thought that was "respectful" debate?

None of us have walked in Jon's shoes but there is plenty of speculation and judging about him. I do it too. But I don't insult other bloggers for doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I agree Murt's social worker never met the kids. It would be great if she could. Does anyone think Kate or even Jon is going to allow that? I don't.

Does anyone know if TLC or Jon and Kate were invited to speak but declined? Or do we know for a fact they were not invited to the Murt hearings? I would have loved for them to appear and justify filming the children. I'm very interested in their thoughts on it. We don't hear anything about it other than they get to travel and have life experiences. They've never really addressed the downside to filming.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have no desire to go to a reality tv convention although it might be interesting.

I might go if it were in my area and if the Gosselin children were going to be there. I'd be interested in seeing how that is handled. I do not think the Gosselin kids would ever be at a reality tv convention anyway...

  31. Schmecky - if Jon invited the paps and said "I wanted to show this side" I do feel it would show his true nature. I think the backlash against would probably be horrendous - not something I would want at all.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Linda, I agree that if Jon had that filmed purposely it was digusting.

My point was that you said it's up to a parent to decide what to film and we should have no say in it... no opinion. I asked if that statement also applies to Jon deciding to have his children filmed like that. He's their parent. Does that make it okay?

I say no. I say no for him and I say no for Kate. It can't be okay for one parent and not the other if "they are the parent, they decide" is the reasoning.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Schmecky - okay then. Season one: once Kate saying "okay stop". Season two: playroom movie time - Kate says "okay enough. Kids are hyped, we're tired stop." Jon says"You just don't want fun", Kate rolls her eyes, but filming stops. Season three: Twice you have Kate saying, "Okay enough. Say goodbye to the camera, out out, shoo" and you have the camera going backwards and the door closing. I knew this would arise again. I have 13 examples total (7 with Kate, 5 with kids, and 1 with Jon. I will have assistants here this afternoon to help me down the stairs. On that computer I have the list by episode and I think also by time marker. I did that after the last time this came up. You can also join iMbd and then search by show, episode, and topic.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Schmecky - Would I like paparazzi filming my kids, your kidsthe G kids? Heck no!!!! Do I like film crews filming the melt downs on Toddlers and Tiaras? Heck no, but those kids' parents have to decide. I don't even like the DVDs that somebody sent me of an old TV Show by Art Linkletter (?) of Kids Say the Darnedest Things (I thought it was designed to embarrass the kids and parents) I don't like tv shows that show kids in poor situations like those of the show about families swapping the mother for a week; I thought those were setups for bizarre situations. All that said, I think if paparazzi are invited to film, they then become a film crew for a period of time and should be required to have both a permit and to come under the guidelines same as TLC or anybody else.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Linda,
Yes, I do now recall one time Kate shooed the cameras out at the end of a long day or something along those lines.

I wasn't sure about the descriptions and episodes you cited, but I was soley referring to the crew filming the kids when they were upset or doing something embarrassing for themselves.

Are there any times that the kids were hysterical crying or throwing a tantrum or in need of privacy and Kate or Jon stopped the crew from filming them? I don't recall that ever. Even when a child was upset and pulled aside or put in time out the cameras followed them.

  36. This is who testified at the first Murt hearing:
    Rebecca Gullan, PhD

Assistant professor of psychology Dr. Rebecca Gullan has been a faculty member at GMC since 2009. Dr. Gullan received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Cornell University and her master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology (with a specialization in children and families) from Bowling Green State University. 37. Okay Schmecky - I was citing an example! How about one of the twins' in the kitchen where she held up her hand (Mady) and filming stopped (old house). Or new house at table when a heated discussion starts and Mady jumps up and puts her hands up and filming stops, or when they are picking up the dog poop in the playroom and Cara says"disgusting, just gross" looks up sees the camera and says "stop". Oh, I've thought of more. But, I'm wondering it really matters or if minds are made up?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Linda, while I agree with everything you said about the filming of those various shows, etc that wasn't my point.

My point is only that "the parent's decision to film" should apply to both parents.

I think it's obvious some people were disgusted by Jon "allowing" the paps to film the kids screaming for him. Others have found it disgusting that Kate allows Mady to be filmed having a tantrum (Jon too when he was doing the TLC show.)

My point is we should all be allowed to be disgusted with what we view as child exploitation. If Jon set that up to film his kids crying like that it was child exploitation. Any filming of the children in private or upsetting situations for money is exploiting them.

People defend that exploitation by saying it's the parent's right to decide. It has to apply to both parents.

  39. Denise,

It seems like she is more than qualified. Seems to me that if a license was required she'd have one. It's not like she's practicing without a required license.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Guys, I'm pulling back this conversation a bit because I don't want to upset anyone especially fans of the show. There is a HUGE difference between a normal circumstance where Mady is getting upset that is properly being filmed by TLC then a pap without permission filimng a very upsetting moment. You can't even compare the two and thats where this was leading.

What Jon allowed to be filmed was in no where near what is normally filmed for us to watch on TV. And now that this couple is divorced, I do NOT agree that it has to be approved by both parents either. Jon has continually showed his immaturity and his vendictiveness towards Kate. She is there mother, she knows whats best, and should not have to consult with Jon over what is shown on TV.

This comment of mine has nothing to do with who is or isnt qualified to speak against the Gosselins and for Murt. This is just once again bringing the support back on Kate where it should be regarding the Gosselin children.

    ReplyDelete
  41. LO, are you confusing Dr.Gullan with the unlicensed therapist who blogs about the Gosselins?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Denise, no and no. Since this is Baby Mama's blog and she has asked us to stop, I will honor and respect that. I have, however, published my email on here several times if you'd like more response it should go to that forum. Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Baby Mama,

I totally agree. If the pap was filming it with NO permission from either parent then that is a totally different story. I'm against the paps filming the kids in any instance, permission given or not. That wasn't my point.

I was referring only to those comments that Jon gave his permission beforehand and it was staged. It was voiced that filming of the children is okay if a parent gives permission. I was just disagreeing, regardless of who the parent is and who does the filming.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sorry, Baby Mama, did you want us to stop this conversation? I just saw Linda's comment to Denise. I thought you were just pulling it back a bit. I wasn't even sure what that meant. Sorry. I have no problem dropping a subject if the blog owner asks it be dropped. :)

  45. I will stop immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm not slapping anyones hands nor saying that the topic should cease. Just that we don't want anyone to get heated or upset and I was concerned that was where this was going. Pulling back a bit and taking a step back has seemed to help in the past.

The debates regarding the Gosselins always seem to garner great passion from both sides. I just ask that everyone respect each others thoughts here since no one will change their opinions on the matter. You know I all love you and I feel sometimes Im pulling some of the kids apart...lol

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think Murt is only going to make himself look worse by continuing his crusade against the Gosselins. It just seems like he is beating a dead horse. I think he could be successful if he went about this in a more positive way instead of bashing the Gosselins.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Schmecky - I do not like paparazzi, period!

I do not like some of the shots of the Gkids by TLC (except to sometimes point out to my kids that the meltdown they just saw is pretty much identical to the one they had the day before - my kids' eyes get big and they comment, "Oh my goodness, we really look and sound like that?" I will say that my own kids perhaps have fewer meltdowns for a few days. :) so perhaps it helps. )

I do not want to spend my time watching things that don't make me feel good.

I will say that I don't think it is up to me to say what the parents can or cannot do. I think it is a parental decision. It would make me sick, but I would support Jon's right to having paparazzi shots IF he acknowledged that it was his choice. I would say it was a poor decision, but I wouldn't try to take the right to decide from the parents. It would also immediately shift the paparazzi from being "paps" to being a "production company" albeit very small; They would also be required to have permits and follow guidelines.

If I could decide, that's a different story. :) It's for doggone sure I'd snatch those cigarettes away from him permanently! (step one)

  49. Baby Mama - The photo you have up today of Kate, Jon, and the twins is one of my favorites! I'm not positive but I think this is from when the doctors first moved Kate from home bed rest to hospital bed rest. I'm so empathetic with her; the time goes by so very slowly when you are just waiting and praying!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Who is paying for this Montgomery County, PA politician to go to court? PA taxpayers? Makes be glad I moved out of state. Paul Petersen should get on with his life. I loved the Donna Reed Show. Thought "Jeff" was such a cutie. Sorry if he didn't get rich from the show or if his parents were awful but there comes a time when we need to grow up and move on.

I see a lot more wrong with Toddlers & Tiara. That's just wrong. I can't possibly consider such a life for a child.

On another topic - if BabyMama is okay with this. We've commented on Whoopi and Joy's opinions on Kate so I'm wondering what the Fans think of the Salahai visit to The View? Do you think this couple should be on a reality show? Personally, I think they should have been dealt with more harshly if they truly appeared at the White House without clearance. I don't think a reward with a reality TV show is appropriate at all...

The Gosselin kids are not memorizing lines and working long days. They go to school and seem to thoroughly enjoy the "crew".

BabyMama: Feel free to delete if you don't want this discussed, of course!

  54. Schmecky - To answer your earlier question - I do not feel Murt has any right, privilege, or reason to send anybody to examine the Gosselin kids. I don't think anybody from the public has that right either. If there were a problem at school, etc. then it would be up to the parents to accept the suggestion.

Unless of course, Murt wanted to pass a referendum that every single child appearing on TV for any film, commercial, etc. filmed in PA would be required to be examined. (I've gotten many clips emailed to me by my reporter friends of local PA commercials where young kids are filmed.)I think perhaps then the local tv stations which produce spot commercials for local businesses would request a recall on Murt. And that's not to mention the PA film commissions efforts to recruit projects there. (It's for sure he wouldn't listen to a little old NC voice but I think it would be political suicide.) It cannot be singling out just the Gosselin kids because people don't like Kate.

  57. Good afternoon everyone! Well per INF Kate took the kids for haircuts today and the cameras for TLC followed. The kids look happy and that they had a great time. Smiling and I'n sure not even remebering the mess of the other day.

So big hot news today are the ULTIMATE trolls from the National Enquiere. Its a slow Gosselin news week so any story is going to be blown out of proportion by 100%. Tell me if you think this story is romotely true as here we go again with a fake "SOURCE" that could be my aunt for all we know..TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THE B@TCHES OF NE:

Kate Gosselin’s much-hyped Alaskan camping trip with Sarah Palin turned into a nightmare when [Kate] suffered a diva-like meltdown - and stormed off despite Sarah’s please. The reality show star stayed at the campsite for just two hours of the planned two-day adventure - and left amid an avalanche of insults, complaints and tears, the Enquirer learned exclusively…

On July 26, Kate plus her 8 and a full TLC film crew arrived at the Palin’s Wasilla home.Kate decided right then she didn’t want to go camping because it was raining. The plan was for the Palin family - including the ex-governor, her father and brother - to give Kate and her brood a taste of the Alaskan wilderness. They would fly on seaplanes to the remote site for activities, including fishing, panning for gold and the two-night campout. Katie’s bodyguard Steve Neild persuaded her to get on the seaplane to fly to the campsite, but she was complaining the entire time - about the weather, the food and rustic atmosphere, revealed the insider.

At the campgrounds, the mega-mom’s mood turned even more sour when she saw the bathroom facilities.“They handed her a bucket with a toilet seat on top,” said the insider.“Kate said, ‘What the hell am I going to do with this!’“Then she burst into tears and started moaning that she wanted to leave.

“When it was time to eat, Kate opened the cooler prepared for her and the children and three another fit when she saw prepackaged mini meals.“There were tiny pieces of cheese and processed meats along with crackers and a few condiments.

“She said ‘My kids can’t eat this crap, they need a real meal! Then she started griping - in front of Sarah - that the ex-governor’s food was better than hers.“Sarah’s meal was grilled hamburgers and hotdogs!”

Kate was also disgusted by the primitive conditions at the campgrounds and let everyone know it.“I can’t have my kids stay in a dirty place like this,” she fumed, according to the close source.

Sarah was shocked but bit her lip, said the source. “She said ‘Come on, give it a little time, it’ll be fun, we’ll make it fun.’”While the stunned TV crew apologized profusely to the Palins, a cabin with modern conveniences was arranged for Kate and the kids….

“Selfish Kate ditched the Palins, who spent the night in their tents,” said the close source. And the next morning, everyone flew back to the family’s Wasilla home, a day earlier than planned.

  58. Baby Mama,

Who knows if it's true or not. I wouldn't take NE's word for it or an anonymous source. sounds like it could be partly true and maybe even exaggerated. It's nothing that I would read and say That doesn't sound like Kate. I also wouldn't be surprised if it was all complete lies.

The only way to know for sure is to hear it from a confirmed named source and/or see TLC's footage of it. Wonder if Palin will talk? I say if TLC doesn't run camping trip footage in the Alaska episodes then it was most likely true. It will be interesting to find out what TLC does show.

    ReplyDelete
  59. By the way, I'd be pissed too if my kids and I got Lunchables (those prepackaged meals) and Sarah Pthe other people there got fresh grilled hamburgers and hotdogs.

Unless I was told to bring my own food for grilling and I didn't...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Personally the bucket with the toilet seat would have done me in!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. WTH - We have nothing confirmed about a camping trip. Nothing except NE and US. But if TLC doesn't do footage it means it's true that Kate had a meltdown? I can't quite follow the logic of that.

Sorry, consider the sources. Neither of those get more than a D- at best.

    ReplyDelete
  62. OMG Lori Anne - I'd have to agree about a bucket with a toilet seat. Can you imagine? Who empties the bucket and where? Yuck, yuck, double yuck. If it is camping this primitive do you dig a pit latrine for disposal? Do you have to portage out the waste products? Is Mom responsible for portaging out her own, the crew's, the kids'?

Somehow I can't imagine buckets with a toilet seat would be too fantastic an image of Alaska for Palin's proposed new "My Alaska" show. OMG can you lure the visitors to "Come on up to Alaska and see if you can pee in the bucket! Second round, you get to poop there too. Third round, Guess what else, you have to carry it all out or dig a pit latrine!" I'd just bet the tourists would be jumping all over each other to rush on to that adventure.

We can only wait and see. Sounds a heck of a lot to me like a sick joke! Okay, I saw those beautiful scenic photos of Alaska and I really wanted to go. Cancel the trip!!! Please, please, i'd rather watch NatGeo.

Somehow these kids would go from camping in the backyard to uber primitive? Nahhhhh.

I'd have ordered the pilot to fly me out or I'd have ripped out every hair in his head!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I pulled the social worker up on the physician national registry. She is licensed in the state of PA.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Linda O, you totally crack me up! I'm strictly and indoor girl. I wouldn't blame Kate one bit if she lost it on that trip. Give me hotel room and I'm happy :)

    ReplyDelete
  65. Lori Anne - I wouldn't plan that trip for my worst enemy! I can't imagine anybody agreeing to take 8 kids on a camping trip that primitive. In my younger days I did primitive camping (Appalachian Trail) where you portage out all trash and dig pit latrines, but that was long before kids. I still think it is garbage. If not, I'd be pissed royally at Kate if she didn't get them the heck out of there!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Whatever the truth about the camping trip, it seems to be on the TLC Palin show, not Kate's.

    # Sarah Palin’s Alaska will bow during November sweeps, November 14 at 9pm on TLC. In a reality crossover of sorts, Kate Gosselin will show up and go salmon fishing with the Palins.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I'm with Kate on outdoor living. I'd go home.

  69. No prob, Crafty Mom. I'll keep browsing. Maybe I'll even get up and scan some pictures. That would be progress.

More likely, I'll watch Kate + 8 from last night....

    ReplyDelete
  70. I am wondering if any of this actually happened, if Kate was expecting more like a resort camp experience. All of the other trips provided for the family by TLC have been with pretty plush accommodations. I also wonder if whoever had prepared the lunchables did it because of what they see Kate serve for lunch on the show, the yogurt cups with fruit and cheese and crackers. They could have associated it with lunchables and thought that was what the kids liked.

    ReplyDelete
  71. New idea! What if??
What if the kids were not even on the primitive camping? What is the salmon fishing was just Sarah and Kate - as in the several days when Kate was MIA?? Wouldn't that be a riot if it was once again NE total speculation?

    ReplyDelete
  72. "But contrary to popular speculation, this historic meeting of America's Two Most Polarizing Moms will not be seen in one of those "Kate Plus Eight" specials TLC has been running, in which Kate takes her kids to various places to show them a "good time."

Instead, TLC President Eileen O'Neill told TV critics attending Summer TV Press Tour 2010 that the Palins "graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family," and that campaign trip will be part of an episode of Palin's new TLC series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

Other episodes will show the Palin family salmon fishing. "

Washington Post says the kids went camping not fishing. Wonder why it isn't going to be shown on Kate + 8?

    ReplyDelete
  73. In a funny sort of way.. I'm wishing this story is true. But NE is KNOWN for embellishing stories and sometimes just plain making stuff up. They have been riding on that Jon Edwards scoop for years thinking they find out everything first but they are a joke now..And TLC is now saying we ave to watch this on Sarah Palins show and not Kate Plus 8! What a scam to get us to watch her show..

I wouldn't put it past The Palins either doing this to try to hype her own show, or just not know how us TRI-State area Easterners do hospitality. LOL Either way, you best be getting me some hamburgers for the kids and a nice place for us to sleep or I would be out of there before you could say "bucket potty".

    ReplyDelete
  74. TLC President Eileen O’Neill said that at the Television Critics Association press tour that the show is going “extremely well.” She added that “it’s become clear that it takes a special individual to thrive in Alaska.”

It seems Kate Gosselin also fits into that “special” category, as she will reportedly appear on the show with all 8 of her kids for a camping session.

  75. Denise - thank you for that post. We know they were in Alaska. We think a camping trip took place but we don't know the conditions (primitive, extra primitive, or Uber primitive) and not for sure yet what combination of people. Maybe more tidbits will be revealed. If you find something let us know.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm hoping, since Kate has said several times that she doesn't really like flying that it wasn't a floatplane! Me, I'd fly from one county to the next. I flew a floatplane in Canada and it was horrendous (not putting down Canada just that mosquito plane.) I was ready to be just left there because I did not think I could get on it to fly home without dying. I tried to convince them I was too sick to do it. My hubby dragged me on. I remember saying I'd never leave home again without a divorce attorney on speed dial!!! Obviously I did survive but never again. I'll have to be comatose and stretchered on to do it again, and please just let me die instead! It has Never become funny with the passage of time either. I'll just wave to the wilderness from a cruise deck thank you very much!

Jon Gosselin Denied Celebrity Status by Twitter
    Posted on August 5th, 2010

Jon Gosselin can't get no love. First he was scorned by millions of women after leaving his wife and family, and now Twitter is ignoring him. The Jon and Kate Plus Eight star attempted to authenticate his Twitter account, but has been denied celebrity status by Twitter.

Jon followed Twitter protocol by posting a picture of himself holding a hand-written sign with his Twitter page info, but his account was never verified by the powers that be. Now he just looks like the dumb ass holding a sign. He should upload a new image and have his people call their people. This is embarrassing. Especially if Kate ever gets a verified account.

Kate currently does not have a Twitter account to my knowledge. There has been no word from Twitter as to why he has been denied; either they think the account is a fake, or that Jon is not famous enough to deserve celebrity status. Jon has over 80,000 followers and has appeared on a popular TV show. I think he deserves celebrity status. What do you think? Is Jon famous enough to have a verified Twitter account

  80. Baby Mama you are right. All this is coming from Sarah Palin's press agents and web site. Palin is the one promoting Kate will be on her show and they say they got along just fantastically. Politics isn't my deal so it's not something I get all excited about.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Baby Mama I heard through people telling Jon and I don't know if it's true but Jon was told awhile back he didn't need to get verified as a celebrity because according to the people that informed Jon on his twitter, twatter or whatever, that Twitter does not verify accounts anymore. Jon knew this awhile back and still went on the campaign. Jon knew this BEFORE the sign stunt. I think Jon deleted those comments from his fans so he could continue on running for celebrity status. Funny. Just an opinion so don't anyone get themself all upset like the other day.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Lexxi~ Yeah I read that too! But I think it's BS. Why exactly would they NOT verify anymore? I mean unless there are just way too many celebrities..lol either way, I find his response shady. I would love to find out the real deal since so many celebrities I see on Twitter all have verified accounts! Great to see you! ;)

  83. Good morning all. It is so hot here! Hope it's pleasant where you are.

  85. Good afternoon everyone! I see everyone is enjoying the great outdoors! Haven't seen a few of you in a while. wHERE ARE YA? ;)Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Well it took RadarOnline a whole day to get Kate's haircut with the kids on a new post. So other than that I haven't seen anything else yet have you. Trolls are bored. They are comparing pictures of when the kids are with Jon (don't match) to when they are with Kate (Perfectly grooming and matching). First off this weekend not all the kids matched. They are really starting to have their own personalitites. Kate wants her kids to look nice, and husbands don't normally know like mine or care if they match or not.

Kate of course looks great, and anyone that says she looked horrible I would like to hear why. lol This is from RadarOnline. Notice how they mentioned the kids were having A FUN TIME!

"Kate Gosselin is wasting no time in teaching her kids the value of great hair. After all, it was Kate's wacky asymmetrical cut that was one of the things RadarOnline.com first noticed about the TV mom. On Friday, Kate took all eight of kids to a local hair salon for a beauty outing. Unlike most kids who scream and squirm when they're getting a hair cut, the Gosselin gang seemed to totally enjoy the outing. Of course, a TLC camera crew was along for the ride, and caught all the action for an upcoming episode of Kate Plus 8."

  86. Whew! Long, hot, busy day here. Thanks for sharing that Baby Mama! Amazing that ROL is once again so desperate for a Kate & kids story that they are back to chasing them on haircuts.

    ReplyDelete
  87. That's an adorable photo of them. Forgot to say that.

    ReplyDelete
  88. LO, I think it's kind of sad that TLC is filming another haircut story. We have seen that many times before. I guess the dentist is next.

    ReplyDelete
  89. the haircut portion is probably for the back to school episode. I wonder what is happening with Twist of Kate, I am soo curious, maybe the families she had planned to visit are turned off by all the paparazzi attention.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Tashapork - I think they've been filming for Twist of Kate for about six months, quietly under the radar.

    ReplyDelete
  91. TashaPork~ All I saw regarding Twist of Kate was that it was now premiering in the late fall...

I was thinking about what Denise said about the kids hair. We have seen that many times before but I agree with Linda that it's probably for a back to school episode. I am really disapointed that they would take this supposededly great episode and make us WAIT until November to see it on another show! I really didn't have a desire to watch her. I would rather watch the Travel Channel story on Alaska better. They are taking this to promote HER show when it would have been amazing for THIS SHOW.

Now we get stuck with the typical back-to-school stuff. But with the haters its dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. They complain when they go on the great trips, and then the complain when they stay home and do everyday things. The show can't win.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I like the trips, but I've always really enjoyed the everyday stuff.

BM...on the bright side it shows the draw Kate has that they are using her to bring in viewers for Palins new show. I'm beginning to suspect that this was the general idea all along. Now, especially people will tune in to see Kate because of the rumours & the fish out of water concept.

I'm hoping there will still be a K+8 Alaska episode though. There will be don't you think?

    ReplyDelete
  93. My suggestion to the critics who complain regardless, would be to find something you enjoy doing in your own life & don't watch.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Not a hater but I think there could be a happy medium. Why must they be going or getting? The economy is hurting many people; how about planting a garden and learning to cultivate it and raise organic foods? Apparently friends can not be shown but we could see the kids playing soccer in the yard, having swimming lessons, learning to cook, doing crafts. They could make puppets and put on a puppet show, play in the sprinkler, get milk from that farmer and make homemade iced cream (with fruit from the farm), play school, make and fly kites, outline their body on craft paper and colour it, there are DOZENS of fun, cheap, entertaining things.

Kate emphasizes health, talk about good food and exercise plans for kids.

This way the kids could be comfortable, safe and show inexpensive fun.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Denise - first, I'd say the chickens are certainly a start on that idea. Second, I know despite your own travels, that you don't care much for the Gosselins travel. I take the opposite view. I loved doing things with my family. I also am very appreciative of all the travels we did. We'd study it in school and it was more real to me because I'd seen it. I could also make a case that the Gosselin travels encourage others to either visit there or allow them to see things they would not otherwise see.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Momsby~ Welcome back! How have you been? We missed you!

Denise~ ALL of your ideas are really great. I hope that TLC reads here and takes some of your suggestions. There are only a few episodes left for the year, if one of your ideas are on any one of them I will scream it was YOUR idea! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  97. Maybe they will reimburse me for my ideas (most of which I did when my kids were young)!

L/O, I guess I base my thoughts on my own childhood. By the time I was 10-12 I had been to the Eiffel tower, Egyptian pyramids, seen the Holy Land, the Acropolis and just about every world landmark you have heard of. I was a very fortunate kid with a Dad whose job offered many perks. What did I want? I wanted to live like my cousins and go to grandma's for Sunday lunch, play in the yard and have a cat. The grass is always greener.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Denise, I agree with you that grass is always greener. We always want more of what we don't have, like now I want rain for my yard, and if it was raining a lot I'd probably be hoping for a sunny day. I think that is part of why parenting is sooo hard, trying to create that balance for kids within what resources are available to a family. I also think just as you especially enjoy seeing stuff you missed out on as a kid, Kate missed out on the vacations and she could be trying to compensate, maybe for some even overcompensate for what she missed out on. I also think a lot of adults do overlook how important those everyday experiences are in kids' lives and the memories they create because as adults we are just trying to get through the day.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Denise..all wonderful ideas! In the early episodes they showed alot of those very kinds of shows. Maybe they feel that they've been done? I also agree with Tashapork, about Kate wanting her kids to experience what she did not. Perhaps, because of the limited filming now they don't have as much time for the everyday stuff.

Also, I'm wondering if maybe because of the past year & the kids being older, if Kate is also pulling back..not willing to share as much of the day to day, more intimate moments.

*waves* to everyone thanks for the warm welcome..summer gets so crazy busy it's cutting into my bloggin time(lol)
Although, I won't complain..loving the weather & soon I'll be hip deep in snow & have plenty of indoor time.*shudders*

    ReplyDelete
  100. Not to stir up Pandora's Box, but I will lol.
Linda, I agree with EVERYTHING you said about the differences between the Paps & the crew. I was also watching the same shows with the same perspective, in regards to seeing them stop when given the signs.

I also have always presumed that there are probably MANY things that are either not filmed or edited that are considered too private or personal.(all those huge blowouts J&K are alleged to have had, comes to mind)

Kate also as the kids got older CLEARLY put more restrictions on where the camera crew could film. In the new house they set up some very clear bounderies..perhaps learning from past mistakes & probably because the children are older & need them more.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Good morning all! I've got more to say about travel and staying at home, pro and con on both sides. More kids to pick up at camps today & I just am annoyed to type on phone screen. With permission, Baby Mama I'll add this later. I know you are close to changing the thread. :)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Good afternoon everyone! Today we are offically DONE with eating hotdogs and hamburgers off the grill. We are OVER-pooled and just not in the mood to walk the city, spend money at the mall or basically take another hour drive to someones house. Today is a day to stay in and chill.

In honor of this I put up a new piece of FRESH PAPER! On it you can prcatically smell & taste Kate's easy to make organic meatloaf. So much so, I actually had the courage to send my husband to a grocery store on his own to get my ingredients as we speak. So sit and enjoy this mess because BabyMama doesn't cook so this is HUGE for my house! lol
