Sneak Peak: Kate Plus 8: Home Roost, Jon's Book Not Happening..Yet But a Jon & Kate Sighting Together is!

Kate Gosselin and the Kids: Train Station Filmers: CelebrityGossip.net

Hard at work on new material for her TLC reality show, Kate Gosselin was spotted alongside camera crews in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Wednesday (July 7). Joined by her adorable brood of kiddies, Miss Gosselin led the way as the group patiently waited before boarding an outbound train at the local railroad depot. In a new clip released, Mama Gosselin busily tried to power wash her home, screaming, "AHHH! I don't want to get wet!"

Stand Down, Pulitzer: Jon Gosselin Book Not Happening Yet: E!Online.com

Jon Gosselin has been called plenty of things over the years. We just never thought "author" would be one of them. Yet despite a report that the octodad was planning to pen a memoir (no-joke working title: A Slice of Life: Jon Gosselin's Story), the reality star's rep tells E! News that Gosselin currently has no such plans...yet. We know what you're thinking: He can write? "He's considering one in the near future," Jon's rep, Canaan Rubin, told E! News of his client's book-penning prospects. "Nothing's being written right now." The literary-aspirations rumor gained traction this morning, when RadarOnline claimed that Gosselin would be writing the supposed tome with his life coach (unsolicited performance review: that money could be much better spent) about his life and times as a media whore famous single dad. "No, they were thinking of that, but it's not written and may never be," Rubin said, adding that it would likely be quite some time before Jon puts pen to paper on his life story. "That was just tossed around." And then, thankfully, tossed out.

  1. I am wondering how their encounter is going to play out in the blog-sphere.

  2. The "p" people must have exploded in excitement after seeing Jon & Kate together in one place to get a photograph. As you can see, Jon is super excited to be there..

Tomorrow morning at 10am "Living The Dream Moms" will have an exclusive interview with our very own Kate Gosselin. And you can get it HERE! Don't worry if you can't listen then, because you will be able to listen to it any time after that when you click on the logo. Super excited to hear what she has to say!

  3. Leslie, Tiggerfan so happy to see you back! Please don't leave me again! lol

Jon was finally dropping off the kids I think after Nanny Erin was finished taking care of them.. I kid I kid. He is NEVER happy to be home it seems. I guess because it's not his home anymore.

  4. Baby Mama. I wasn't able to post all day. The little white block for "Post a Comment" just did not appear. Perhaps others were also having problems. Must be a blogger issue.

  5. Yeah for some reason I'm now being told no one was able to post today.. I was freaking out. Glad I'm putting a new post up. I guess it helped. Did you text me? I did get your e-mail.. thanks!

  6. I didn't leave Baby Mama, just nothing to say......until now!!!!!!!

I have basically been unemployed for 3 years, lost unemployment over a year ago. Went back to school, living off student loans.

Well today I got a job in my field of study. YAY!! Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Tigger Fan - That's wonderful! Congratulations!!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Congrats tiggerfan!!!!!!!

As for Jon not looking happy... From the pics it looks like Kate yelling at him or tossing him around again. Why would he be happy? Just my opinion... Wish the paps had video instead.

There are pics of Kate and the kids filming in Chinatown today. What was so important that they had to film in Manhattan in 100 degree weather? I've been in NYC in 85 degree weather and it's unbearable... 100 is pure torture.

We had a great family reunion in the Poconos... My 6-year-old was sick today... Beach tomorrow... Love summer! Enjoy ladies.

  9. Congrats tiggerfan! Sounds like you've reinvented yourself as well--that's awesome. So happy to hear of folks I know finding new jobs within the last month, some of whom have been unemployed a long time.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Tiggerfan-Congratulations! That had to have been hard and scary but I'm glad that you not only found employment but found it in your chosen field!

  11. Schmecky~ Welcome back! Congrats Tigger! You deserve it!

Ok so it wasn't THAT bad in Manhattan today considering I am here. But I can't talk since I was inside for most of the time and them forced myself to pay for rediculously expensive cabs when my ass should be in a subway. But then I would be dead hense no more blog. But in my Gosselin will I leave my blog to Linda "Original", so she may want to make sure I stick around for a while. I don't know if she want's that responsibility. I will get a few shots of Kate & the Kids in the City on the site tomorrow. I'm so exhausted and YES! It's 2AM so I'm a hot mess. More tomorrow....It's the City that never sleeps baby!

  12. Alright, who else is pleased as punch that Al's "book" is not the second coming that all the haters thought? I have to admit, I feel a little sorry for them. They waited for this book for WEEKS, building it up into something bigger than Jesus Christ. But it fell flat. Everytime they get their hopes up. Remember the "reporter" who was going to expose Kate? Yeah. And PennMommy? Why can't the haters get a break??? So now some are claiming that Al was paid off by TLC to go easy on Kate. This is just too funny. So I guess now it's back to calling her out on her hooker attire.

I really wish I didn't have to go out today. This is one of those days I would have liked to have jumped from blog to blog watching the crazy unfold like the worst epi of Real Housewives of Jersey.

  13. Well. I see that Just Wacko has been on the prowl again. Yuck. What a nasty, ignorant, delusional troll! How very sad that she spends her days and nights trying to spread hate and mayhem.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Arabella - I have not read the book. I don't plan to either. At least not until it's free in the library. He spent all that time in the tree and the had to self publish??That fact alone should tell people something. I have noticed that none of the trolls are touting his sales figures.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Arabella~ Welcome! So happy to see you again! First off, remember that article that was supposed to expose Jon & Kate (I honestly forgot who wrote it) but turned out to be some laughable joke that just talked about Kate not appreicating her neighbors. So obviously we all know who THEY interviewed. GWOP said it was going to EXPLODE once it came out..Does anyone even remember that? Ya just gotta laugh.

I wouldn't even give any didot like that man the satisfaction of discussing it. THAT is someone making a buck off Jon & Kate for their own selfish reasons, like his rent. Boyfriend is getting booted at the end on the month. So sad...

    ReplyDelete
  16. SchmeckyGirl - Wow. You could read all that into a quick photo? Amazing. So how do you know that Jon wasn't irked that Kate's having trees planted to block views so he can't sell any more photos? Or, that a bee didn't just sting him in the hind end? Or that he was tired from having to drag his body from the vehicle after a hard day's work? Oh wait, forgot he doesn't work yet. Or, because Kate was out on the road, to talk to her he had to stop there also? All of those scenarios are plausible but not probable. Don't really think we need to jump into speculation. If you really do know, you can publish your own book.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I forgot to add that today is 100% percent fantastic. Only slightly muggy and a nice breeze. I also wanted to add to my comment about yesterdays heat & Kate taking the kids to the city. It's no where near the same in the city as it is out in the suburbs. With all the buildings it actually stays pretty cool Downtown. Uptown where the buildings are slightly separated is another story. So I think the kids would have neen ok yesterday. Does anyone know why they were in Manhattan? Which remeinded me to add the photo of Kate looking great w/the kids on the way to the train...my fav. Kate outfit so far!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Arabella - IMO, when they can't find something to rag on, and they've exhausted the same recycled accusations, then they start jumping on those who are pro Kate.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Linda~ I was thinking the same thing. If she was telling him to move the car, which Radar said she was doing, then that would explain perhaps..her mouth open.. And even so, I would have been bitching louder than that, they are divorced now and he continues to embarass himself..lol

    ReplyDelete
  20. Does anybody think trolls are kin to vampires or perhaps werewolves? Normal people ( unless working 3rd shift) are asleep in the middle of the night. I've found that 99% of the vitriolic comments by our resident pest are made between 2 and 4 am. Maybe we need to warn the folks on her street to watch out - the loony tune is loose again. I just have to laugh. It's sad when her delusions get far ahead of her. What kind of sicko takes pleasure going where nobody wants her?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Linda,

No, I don't know. Someone commented that Jon never looks happy when he's there etc... I gave a possible reason. Maybe Jon was happy. That's why I said video would have been good. You can't know from a few pics. Kate didn't look happy either by the way. No one mentioned that.

    Baby Mama,
I liked the top and shorts... And I liked the shoes. Just not together. Those shoes with the shorts and top were over the top in my opinion.

As for Manhattan it was very hot and muggy yesterday. They don't even allow the horses in Central Park to work in that temp. I really don't understand taking kids out in that weather, but that's just me. Unless it's to the pool or something of that nature. Even then I'd probably keep them indoors. I did yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Schmecky~ Yes, I did spend most of the day indoors so I have no idea how bad it was all day.

Kate interview on now. I will def. give you a recap soon. I want to get on this radio show, it's so much fun.. Who would want to hear my nasal voice? anyone? lol Kate is talking about wearing one of the ladies shirts! lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. What did you guys think of her last blog post? I was bothered that she felt the need to write a disclaimer about the makeup. It’s annoying to think that people would rip her apart for letting the children have play time and dress up. I mean, I do know that happens. Look at how people rip her apart for making a less than happy face while talking to Jon in front of her house. I just feel bad for her, people are so judgmental.

    ReplyDelete
  24. wildchild~ great to see you!

I went to see the new post and I relly liked it. And I was too upset to see the disclaimer about the kids putting on the makeup. It's just par for the course now that Kate is being attacked by everyone. I think if she hadn't put that in it would just be another blog war in "GosselinLand"..

"How DARE Kate put makeup on her kids, this will scar them for life along with the fantasic trips they get to take and all those awesome freebies I secretly wish I had and the millions of dollars from a hit show I also wish I had!" Takes the inward jealousy thing to a whole other level.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm with Linda, that we have no idea what's actually happening in the photo. Kate could be talking to someone else or simply telling Jon that the kids are up at the house or in the yard. I hate when people make a mountain out of a mole hill. Seriously, can't Kate just talk anymore? She doesn't look ticked in the picture -- she just looks like she's talking!

And seriously, video??? Do we need to hear every word they say? Who cares! Do the paps not invade their privacy enough making much ado about absolutely nothing??!!

Sorry, I'm good now! Been silent for awhile and just needed to jump in today! It's a gorgeous 75 degrees in CA today!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Or maybe Kate was having harsh words to her ex husband? I'm not divorced but if my husband cheated on me while still married then paraded multiple girlfriends around I doubt I would be singing his praises. Come on, people, they are newly divorced. It's not going to be smooth sailing right away. It may even take years. Parents are not perfect. It's easy to say someone should be doing something better when it is not we ourselves who are doing it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Linda, Jen, and Arabella-I agree. We have to give them time and the opportunity to attempt to work out a new normal for co-parenting. That's hard enough without people you don't know trying to micro-manage you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I just made my cruise around some of the hate Kate blogs. So funny. They are coming unhinged that Al didn't bash Kate more.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I really liked the radio interview with Kate, especially when she talked about the kids watching their show. I am kind of curious though, how they handled some of the more upsetting season 5 shows. Did they let the kids or older kids watch, and if so when, or maybe they don't care to because they are about sad topics. It is something I am not sure how I would handle if I were in that boat.
I was also thinking that sometime when news is slow we could take a picture and have people come up with stories of what the picture is about. It is interesting to see how many different things come to people's minds when viewing the same photo. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

  30. Hi to all, and hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I did, and it was just as hot in the country, as it is here.
Since I was MIA, I have allot to catch up on but atleast wanted to say Hi.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Baby Mama - I just read back over your previous post. Stay healthy! Uh, thanks for your vote of confidence but I assure you that people wouldn't like it if I inherited your blog. Non-fans are one issue regardless of whom they are non fans. As for the haters, I'm afraid that along with bullying I have zero tolerance. It's hot here also and humidity is high today so kids and hubby spending it in the pool while Mom works and packs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Caregiver - Glad you are home. How's that precious new grandchild doing?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Tashapork - I agree with you. It would be interesting to hear the input on different photographs. Same with tv. Often when I hear comments I have to back and rematch. I find myself wondering if I watched the same program as sone other people.

  34. One of the best trips to Manhattan I ever had with kids was mid-July and really hot. We had lots of frozen gelatos, ice cream, walks near the lake in Central Park and zillions of giggles. We didn't just sit inside in AC. I think because it was a trip away, and different from everyday, that made it fun. It's summer and hot in most if the US. You go to the pool, etc if you can. But you can have fun when it's hot just like you can when it's cold.

  35. And another post is up this morning! This time she writes about running.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I don't know her blog, anybody have a link? I can't imagine Jon writing a book. I'd never read his drivvle. It would be his version of the truth, we all see how he thinks. I can't imagine a publisher that would take it on. Sigh.

Kate looks great, and I hope she is yelling at him. He has no clue.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hi Cindy,

    Here is the link: http://blogs.discovery.com/kate/

Also Baby Mama has a link in the upper right of this blog.

  38. Linda,
Sounds like a nice day in NYC. Not the same as shopping in Chinatown though... but I guess we will have to wait to see the TLC footage and see if the kids were having a blast and giggling and cooling off with ice cream too.

I totally agree we have no idea what happened in the picture shown (although some online articles claimed Kate was yelling at Jon). It just seems to me some speculated that Jon wasn't happy in the pics. Not sure why it's okay to speculate that but not okay to speculate that Kate didn't seem happy either.

  40. SchmeckyGirl->>Not sure why it's okay to speculate that but not okay to speculate that Kate didn't seem happy either.<<

I don't think anyone's saying that. It's when people start making assumptions about WHY either or both of them appear unhappy, especially as to whether it is one of them's fault that the other looks unhappy, that, IMHO, a line is crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Linda "Original"-I agree. Unless one stays indoors with the AC going full blast, every place is hot, and I can't imagine trying to keep 8 kids indoors when the sun is shining. It's a little better today (ONLY 85 degrees).

    ReplyDelete
  42. PeggyP,
You are right. I agree. Kate could have just been pointing at something. I was going by the articles I saw that said she was yelling at him...

However, I do feel there was speculation as to why Jon wasn't happy. It was speculated that he was not happy to be "home". I guess in pointing out that you can't speculate why he looked unhappy I did some speculating myself.

I just think it's easy to go to the next step and speculate further as to why he wasn't happy to be home...

I actually try not to speculate based on pics. I will try harder...

    ReplyDelete
  43. LOL! Saw the pics of the kids at the Statue of Liberty but had to scroll past about 20 pics of Kate sucking a lollipop! WTH?

I'm glad they finally got to go to the SOL. I just think it's sad that they could only go if they were filming the show. Why can't they do things like that without a camera crew? Then again, I'm just assuming they filmed it. Maybe they didn't...

Kate taking her shoes off and walking barefoot is gross. I thought she was a germaphobe. Why can't she just wear more comfortable shoes?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh my goodness I'm listening to the radio show and I have to listen to these two women for how long just to get to the interview? Is there a transcript?

    ReplyDelete
  45. LOL Schmecky! I did not understand the need for millions of lollipop pictures either!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hi Linda & all,
Going to see the new bundle tonight, I missed a whole week and started thinking about her everyday. Isn't that crazy?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I listened to that radio station and then figured out how to fast forward through all the bs stuff. So then I could listen to Kates' part. It really wasn't anything new because she is already all over in the media. More PR. for her show. That's the way they do it.

The only thing that I felt was wrong was the fact that Kate didn't know who the girls were, and that they were the ones that sent the shirts. You would have thought that TLC would have done some research and filled her in on that!!! It would have sounded better.

I'll catch up on the rest later maybe. cu

    ReplyDelete
  48. caregiver,
I forwarded it too. It's around the 50 minute mark. Yeah I thought it was odd that she didn't know who they were and that they gave her the shirts, etc. They said they spoke to her and she picked out the shirts and asked her to wear it on their show, etc so how could she not realize? The logo is the same.

  49. Good afternoon everyone! Great to see you all here chatting away, it always makes me happy.;)

Wildchild~ thanks for letting me know Kate did a new post for her blog. This lady is making me look bad! She blogs now more than I do.

Cindy~ So glad to see you again. I always love seeing my old commenters coming back and posting. It shows that people never forget my site ;)

#1caregiver~ It's so wonderful when there is a new bundle around. I love the smell and holding them. It's hard to remember that time even though it was so recent ago.

SchmeckyGirl~ That's so funny that we were tihnking the same thing about the lollipop photos! The "p" people are pigs that are obsessed with women sucking things. YUK You know why they are showing those..the haters will "suck" it all up in the same of snark.

I need to comment on the radio show and the lovely ladies that interviewed Kate. Nina mentioned back then how simplae and easy it was to-email Kate and talk to her long before TLC got deeply involved. Back then anyone that got approval from Kate herself can send her items that she decided whether she would wear on the show. It was a long time ago and long before it was this huge issue about "freebies". I could understand her perhaps not remembering or seeing these ladies site and putting 2&2 together on who they are. I don't think that it was wrong at all, the girls on the show wanted Kate to know who she was talking to and Kate herself was really happy and saying how much she loves the shirts. She was also greatful that they expalined who they were.

I don't think it was wrong at all. I can't remember stuff from last week..lol

    ReplyDelete
  50. Kate probably has had a lot of stuff sent to her through the years and & lot of request to wear items on her show. Keeping up with every who & what would be difficult while keeping up with everything else. It sounds as if a lot of these types of decisions are one's Kate makes herself.

The filling in of the background is something a personal assistant would do or Kate's manager. I don't know who booked the interview for Kate, but if it was TLC, then it wouldn't be TLC's job to do that, they would just do the booking. If her manager booked it, then it would be her manager's position to fill her it. And I've never heard anything about Kate having any personal assistant.

  51. ZiggoFlo~ Welcome back! :)

People.com is doing their own voting on who should have been nominated for an Emmy's. This is a great poll that Kate is winning by a landslide for "Outstanding female in a drama" lol. I WISH that this was the actual Emmy nominations! lol

  52. Ok, so maybe the word wrong was the wrong word to use about her interview. I should have said unprofessional, maybe? Kate winged it, and it just didn't fly for me. Sorry about that!

Sooooo, to be fair and square with J&K, I don't think much of his Dragon either. Why people get such big honkin things like that are beyond my sense of reason. To each his own.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't know... Maybe I misunderstood. I thought the name of the radio show was Living the Dream Moms and that is also what is printed on the shirts Kate said she wears all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Okay - I rarely go elsewhere except a few blogs and just post here. So, not sure what photos you folks are talking about...Would somebody post a link? (Please, I'm hoping it isn't Radar, lol, 'cause I'm trying hard not to go there at all.) Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes, Jen, I said video.

I'm actually not concerned at all for Jon and Kate regarding their "privacy". They've filmed their children's private lives for 6 years, at home and in public. I don't feel for Jon and Kate at all with any loss of privacy, especially in public.

And yes, I admit, I would LOVE to see how Jon and Kate now interact with each other. I think the last we've seen of them together was the tups 5-year birthday party and at the bus stop filmed by paps on the first day of school. They ignored each other for the most part at both. I'm very curious to see how they treat each other now. So yes, I'd love to see/hear video of them. We have the pics... there'd be a lot less speculation with sound. JMO.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Re: the photo, lol. There was no audio, thank heavens they get some privacy. My take was that Kate was pointing out something, and Jon was looking down climbing out of his vehicle. I didn't think either of them looked particularly sad, angry, or much of anything else. I just took it that they were talking. IMO, some people are actually able to "just converse" without rancor, anger, animation, etc. etc. In the paraphrased words of Sigmund Freud, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." Who knows??? IF they were angry, (either of them) perhaps it was at paparazzi with cameras stuck in their faces, again.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Caregiver - I didn't think too much of that dragon either. It was just big, and well, ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Baby Mama - check your email. I'm heading to bed but I did look up that addy that we discussed today.

  59. Linda~ thank you and just got your message. I'm glad that you were right and I was wrong..xoxox see you always have my back, and yet you don't want my blog??? ;)

  60. SchmeckyGirl~ Even though they call their internet radio show "Living The Dream", this started way after their Tee line called LTDcHIX You can see Kate wearing the shirt she still wears on the link below at their site:

  61. I listened to the whole show, which, as I learned, is an hour show. I can't imagine why anyone would be surprised that they put their big item, the Kate interview, at the end. I found the rest of the show very interesting, including the interview with the Imperfect Women administrators. As for whether or not Kate was remiss in not making the connection between the t-shirts and the hosts, the hosts did not sound surprised or offended that Kate didn't make the connection without prompting. They sounded pleased and happy at her praise of their products. I figure if anyone had the right to be offended, they would be the ones, and, if they aren't offended or upset, I can't see why anyone else wants to make an issue of it.

Schmecky Girl-I don't believe that the fact that Jon & Kate made some aspects of theirs' and their children's lives public means that there are no barriers which anyone should respect and people can demand access to their most sensitive moments against their wills. Whatever else happens, these two people need to find a way to co-parent in a civil and respectful manner for their kids' sake. That's never easy in divorce and this one has been very nasty. If you don't care at all about Jon and/or Kate's feelings, try thinking of the kids & be willing to give the parents some space to work out a new normal for the kids without the tabloids, Khaterz, etc. parsing every word & glance.

Try thinking of the kids? ME? I'm not one of the many that feel their lives should be filmed as entertainment.

Jon and Kate both argued, fought and ignored and bad mouthed each other, as well as publicized their family falling apart and divorcing, all on their own family show... Not to mention on other shows and in interviews... With NO consideration for their own children and you're telling me to think of their kids?

They are the ones constantly putting themselves (and their children) out there on tv and in front of the paps. I have no control over any of it.

P.S. I had no idea the radio show was an hour... As soon as I realized it I forwarded it.

Even accepting your characterization of Jon & Kate's behavior, for the sake of argument, does that mean a free pass for everyone in regards to the effects of the kids. You criticize Jon & Kate for publicizing their personal life but then you express your desire for a videotape (I'm assuming with sound) of a conversation that they did not film for the show and similar conversations.

You do have control over some of it; we all do. We're the audience for these things. The tabloids don't care about anyone who doesn't boost their circulation, and TV is a cold, hard world. If a show doesn't produce sufficient ratings in the right demographics, then they're off the air.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Peggy,
Video footage by the paps or by TLC is all the same to me. No difference in my eyes as far as whether or not Jon or Kate choose to have their private lives made public.

I don't watch anything Gosselin related on tv. I did watch DWTS but I watched it after she was voted off too and I will watch next season too.

    ReplyDelete
  66. SchmeckyGirl~When you say you don't watch anything Gosselin related on TV is there a reason? I'm just curious because alot of people say this because they somehow feel that by watching it tey are contributing to the person they hate so much. Not that it matters, or that it makes a difference or does anything. It's jusy funny because you know people are watching and lying through their teeth about it to save face lol.

    ReplyDelete
  67. LOL Baby Mama,
Yes, I've heard of those possessed remote controls that change the channel to TLC. Lol.

Actually I enjoy the show... I do enjoy watching the kids but I find Kate annoying with her shrieking among other things. But I don't watch because I don't agree with the kids being filmed. Once a year would be fine with me. I feel if I contribute to the tv ratings I am contributing to keeping them on tv. I personally don't have a problem watching it at a later time such as a repeat or online. I don't record it either. I admit it's not easy because like I said I actually enjoy it. As for watching Kate talk about herself on ET or another show I prefer not to. She's always saying she's boring etc but then she is doing a show Twist of Kate where she is being followed around with cameras... The two don't add upon my eyes. I actually don't find her interesting but I do find all the Gosselin drama interesting, but all that seems to be mellowing out now.

I'm on my BlackBerry. Hope I made sense. It's hard to review and edit before posting... ;)

  68. I agree with JW... I'm sure there are some, even a lot, that no longer watch. I do think some do though for the train wreck factor...

  69. Strange JW. You commented here about episodes in last season, talked about her two appearances ago on the View, and commented on DWTS. Seems like a lot of Kate watching to me.

  70. Sorry I have been MIA - vacation withdrawal and then my son was sick for two days with a migraine! I can't wait to watch the episode, so excited.

I just wanted to pop on to wish Linda good luck and to let y'all know that she won TWO copies of the klutz books I was giving away on my site! Yay! Thanks for spreading the word so much for me Linda!

I will try to keep up with the posts but we have Girl Scout camp this week and I am one of the counselors so I am going to be wiped! But maybe I can keep up on the bus. :) Hope every one had a great 4th and I am sorry to see that the flies have been back since I have been gone. Too bad. The flies seem to know a lot about Kate....sometimes more than I do...for people that don't watch her, eh?

  71. Does anyone know where I can find those sandals/wedges that Kate is wearing in the photo with Jon? I've been looking for a heeled flip flop type of shoe and those look really cute.

  72. angelsmama,

I have a few from Old Navy. I just checked online and they have them for 5 bucks. Not sure if they are the same ones, and might not be as high...

    ReplyDelete
  73. I just looked again... the ones online seem a bit lower. I have the ones they had a couple of years ago. I think mine are higher than the ones they have now.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Thanks Schmecky. I've seen a lot of the lower ones. I like the ones she's wearing because they seem to be higher than what I've seen. I'm only 5 foot so I am looking for ones that are a bit higher.:)

  75. I don't know why Kate didn't pack a pair of flipflops in her tote. Those 5 inch heels just aren't great for walking long distance in the heat. Barefoot??? yuck...

  76. "save face" babymama? Some of us don't watch because we think the cameras in the faces of the Gosselin children isn't right. So why would we watch it for heaven's sake?

    ReplyDelete
  77. angelsmama, SG is correct...try Old Navy or Macy's.

  78. If not botox, then what did happen to Kate's face? It's changed so much.

  79. Mdblough,
I read your comment. It sounded contradictory to me regarding the Nielsen ratings etc. It also didn't provide anything for me to consider to help me rethink my stance. All I know is that ad revenue is based on ratings. They only take the ratings from certain airings. If I watch it online two months later I'm pretty sure it won't help with the shows ratings.

I have news for you. You're watching them. They have ratings for reruns and they certainly monitor hits on web sites.

TO Brynn-Her hair has changed a lot and except for that one unfortunate eye makeup incident when the photos were taken that led to the botox rumors she's much better on her makeup. I think the hair has made a lot of difference. The new hairdo and its variations soften the jawline. etc.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think her "new hairdo" is a MESS! eek!

  82. Good morning everyone, at least it is for me. I am shocked once again that good OLD JW, who is the oldest troll living. Who is still coming here and harassing people. GO AWAY JW WE DON'T WANT YOU HERE. Poor Mary Beth isn't concerned with the cops watching her trailer...

Welcome all of our new commenters! Kimberly we all have our good hair days and bad hair days. This type of hair style is high maintenance and the hot weather doesn't help. So I will give her a break with that one. If it's styled right it does look amazing. But honestly my favorite style was that 24 hour bob!

Mdblough~ by what Schmecky was saying your post sounded interesting. Sorry you deleted it before I could see it..lol

SchmeckyGirl~ I was confused when you were talking about Kate saying she was boring but yet she has two shows and that doesn't add up. I'm boring too but I would have 10 cameras around me if I could, to support my family and get a new house and car. Straight up. I could even create my own fan blog! LOL

Yes the Gosselin drama is fading and the trolls are already bored and a few like JW are hanging on for dear life. I for one don't miss the drama one bit but it keeps the blogs active. Don't count Jon out though, he's got a few more inches left on his back for more ugly tattoos and I have the feeling he's gonna need some more funds for the smokes. So don't lose hope for him to create some more drama for the haters to snark on.

  83. There are two things that keep Kate in the spotlight and the kids on television.

    1) The revenue her shows and appearances generate. The most important piece of this are the ratings for the first airing of any show. But there are advertisers paying for subsequent showings of the same episodes and ratings for the reruns matter as well. Sales of DVD's count add to these profits.

    2) The interest in Kate on the Internet. It doesn't matter if people are pro- or anti-Kate. As long as there are 100's of clicks on each story written about Kate, they will keep writing them. As long as there are blogs with 100's of posts daily, the interest is maintained. This generates hype which gives the perception to the powers that be that Kate is a ratings draw (true or not).

The filming of the children will not stop until there is not interest in Kate whatesoever - until people are totally indifferent.

All that said, I have no problem with the childen being filmed along the lines of the current schedule. It seems balanced at this point. As for the impact on the childen, I believe filming has enhanced their lives. I believe it has benefited them far more than it has harmed them. I also believe any current unhappiness is due to the divorce - something many children experience and something I think would have happened regardless of filming.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I see it differently. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't see how.

If there are ten million people commenting on ROL or watching video clips of previous airings online, etc and only a handful of people watching the first episode airings on tv for each "special" or weekly show, etc it will not be enough revenue to keep Kate and the kids filming the show.

Sure the sponsors will think Kate brings ratings at first, but once they realize she doesn't they will stop advertising during and in the show. If the tv ratings plummet there won't be future filming. That's how I see it. If someone can show me otherwise I will rethink my stance.

I'm not trying to justify watching the later episodes. I have no problem not watching anything if I think it will be the difference.

As for the effect the filming and loss of privacy has on the children that remains to be seen. I do agree the divorce has taken a toll on them, but I don't think that will be the only factor. If filming them is harming them at all, I don't believe that fun trips and vacations will negate that, not in the long run anyway. Hopefully they won't have any issues because of the filming. I just don't see how they won't when they realize how much of their lives has been made public and into entertainment. JMO.

  85. Kids: The have indicated that they WANT to be on TV. And, if any kid has a day where they don't want to be on TV, then they aren't.

50/50 co-parenting and rights to have kids on TV:
My unprofessional opinion is that Jon should have NO SAY in how SHE raises her kids on HER time. That means that if kids want to be on TV and she is fine with that, then they should be. End of story. This assumes, that all child protection from over filming laws are being observed.

    Jon's book: I wouldn't buy it. Sorry!

Yes, Kate WAS a bit overbearing, but she learned from her mistakes and is doing much better now. :D I commend her for that! Its not easy overcoming OCD and having to be in control of everything. She's learning. It just takes time and I'm willing to give her time and keep watching her shows!

Kate plus 8: IF the courts are foolish enough to ban the kids being on the show, then I would support her being a permanent fixture on The View. She'll relax and learn to be more free and just be herself. She'll find her inner humour. And I think that it will come out on The View given time. She'll never be a Comedian per se, but she is entertaining. I respect her opinion.

I vote for the 8 being on TV!

  86. I say, if you like it watch; if you don't then don't watch. It is annoying for some trolls to complain about not liking it but then gobon to describe the show if detail - so obviously they did watch. Don't know if that makes sense and I can't scroll up to check!

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think there are lots of assumptions that the show is more intrusive than we think. We know nothing about huge parts of the childen's lives. Their school lives, their extra curricula activities, their friendships have been conducted entirely off-camera (with the exception of friends attending the 5th birthday party).

The fun trips and vacations may not negate the loss of privacy. But growing up in a house where 9-10 people aren't squashed into a tiny space, where making ends meet is not a constant struggle, and there is money to pay for college without being saddled with student loans may very well make up for being filmed when young.

Obviously, I don't know kids who have had some of their lives filmed for a TV show. But I have a 20 year old neice who was scarred in a car accident when she was 5 (not seriously injured by scars on her legs). She was awarded a fairly large sum of money. The scars bothered her as a kid but now she is thrilled that her college costs are covered. Unlike many of her peers, she will have an advanced degree and be debt free.

Another niece (different family) also has a college fund because her parents took care of an elderly friend for several years. She was mad as a child about some of things she had to give up but now at 16, she is thrilled that the she can do anything she wants in terms of college.

Growing up lower middle class, in a crowded house, with prospects of struggling to go to college is over rated.

  88. ACK! I have my friends still over and I can't watch! I am also of all days having problems with my DVR player! Thank goodness for PST and repeats.. How is the show going?

    ReplyDelete
  89. I really liked the shows, especially the fact that there was not one mention of Jon, unless you interpret the comment about the one bedroom apartment as such. I understand Kate's frustrations because I have the same issues on a samller scale with our house. Just the other day, I spent over an hour dealing with a hose issue that never did get completely resloved, albeit, she is in a better situation to hire help than I am, but that presents it's own problems. I love to see the kids working together on something. Those kids do more than some fourteen and fifteen year olds I konw. I hope the trees and shrubs provide Kate the privacy she needs.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Tashapork-I also liked seeing the kids work together to solve problems. It was really cute when the Amish farmer brought over the foam rubber bat and showed Collin and Joel how to use it to carry the water jug between them. They looked so pleased and proud at their accomplishment.

  91. Well I'm so happy I stayed up tonight to watch the show. I thought it was great. Unfortunately its almost 2am here. So I promise to have a new post up first thing tomorrow. For those that missed it and would like to see it here, I will also have the episode up as soon as I could get it!

  92. New Post up for the new episode! I love the scent of fresh paper in the morning! Sorry it took so long, but the kids did NOT want to start camp today! ;)

Enjoy the fresh paper smell of waffles and hot maple syrup to start you this Monday!
