Jon & Ellen Photo Op, Whats The Next Kate Plus 8?, Ellen Ross Gives MORE Interviews

Hello Gosselin fans! What I thought would be a slow news week turned out to be more emails sent to me that she giving out even more interviews. Now it was one thing to do one trying to explain herself, but to give more, and on top of that been seen photographed in a bikini all weekend has many people scratching their heads. Is this person finding a new way to seek the limelight the others didn't? For someone that treasures her privacy, it seems that she is using Jon's silence to her advantage...This weekend Jon appeared to have just the sextuplets. No sign of the twins. It seems that Jon and Ellen Ross are still going strong. According to a new report, the couple spent some quality time over the weekend with Gosselin's children. As Radar Online reports, the couple and the children were in Pennsylvania this weekend, swimming at Gosselin's apartment. It is evident that things are progressing with Gosselin and Ross. She was afterall the first of his series of girlfriends (post marriage to Kate) that have met the children. The media is now so slow on news that they are pitting her with Kate on who looks better in a bikini..Kate, even after 8 kids, wins that title hands down. Lets hear it for the moms! xoxox

Ellen Ross Talks (Again): PopOnThePop.com

Jon Gosselin's girlfriend Ellen Ross, 23, has lost her privacy but has found love. Ross said, “I’m completely happy with him, and I have no complaints and we always have a great time.” Within months, Ross has gone from virtual obscurity to tabloid cover girl. Although she has become a paparazzi magnet and has been thrust into the rumorville, she has kept quiet - until now. For the first time ever, the 5'5 brunette known as "Gosselin's girlfriend" is speaking out. Ross said, “I’ve never spoken with any [reporter] and I’ve never had an interest to. You can put that down” .

What was your first date with Jon like? I heard it was a blind date. Ya, that is true. We were introduced.

Was your first date in a bar? Oh no. That was where Star magazine got the first picture of us, I guess. [The bar photo] was for a charity event that I went to with him. Prior to that, we had been together for several weeks.

What was your first date like? It was a backyard barbecue. You get together, sit around, have drinks, talk. That’s just the kind of stuff we do. I always tell people we’re like a regular couple.

What do you love the most about him? I’m completely happy with him, and I have NO complaints and we always have a great time. Let’s see ... He’s funny, he’s very down to earth, he’s very laid back. Obviously, he’s a good father! He’s just fun to be around, he always thinks of fun things to do. We actually have a lot in common; I think that’s why we get along so well.

Do people ask for your picture? Nope. Nope. None of that yet [laughs].

Have your family and friends met your boyfriend? Everyone close to me has and everyone’s supportive and totally understandable about everything, so, they just want me to be happy. That’s important to me.

Were you nervous about introducing him? No, no. I told them that he’s a regular guy to me and he treats me like someone should treat someone in a relationship. I told them that they’ll see that when they meet him, that’s all I say to people. [After they meet Jon] they're like," You know what? You’re right.” And I always say don’t believe anything you read because it will be the complete opposite.
Has anyone called you a home wrecker to your face? Do you stay off of gossip blogs? Anybody that says anything to me is supportive and they kind of feel for me for how certain things are perceived on the internet. I have yet to meet someone who strongly dislikes me to my face.

What kinds of things are people saying about you online? I might see the headlines, but I try to ignore it all. [Jon and I] both do. If we see it, we see it. I don’t read any comments. I figure anyone who is close to me is the one whose opinions I care about.

Would you ever appear on a reality show? No. I have no interest in doing that. I never have, never will. I would NEVER do [a reality show], that is not the direction that I’d ever want my life to go into.

So basically it sounds like you’re the anti-attention whore. Yep! That’s what everybody tells me. It’s very easy to make up a rumor about somebody, especially when they don’t have anything to talk to them about, they just speculate on their own.

What can we expect on the next "Kate Plus 8?" TheMorningCall.com

With the recent news of ratings going down on “Kate Plus 8” we think TLC should step it up with filming. While the next episode has no air date yet we do know the crew has been out filming the Gosselin brood. The Gosselins took a recent trip to NYC which included Kate schmoozing with Donald Trump and seeing Lady Gaga concert. Oh yeah and she was briefly seen hanging out with her kids in China Town in the sweltering heat. While we aren’t sure they were actually there in NYC we know that the crew was there to see them off. The Gosselins opted to take a train ride into New York. Crews were filming the children and a over the top dressed Kate as they waited for the train in Lancaster, Pa.

We hope the crew did follow the clan to New York because watching the kids in a train station sounds pretty boring. Kate also took the kids to Ellis Island and The Statue of Liberty another day. Instead of cooling the kids off in the heat with a cold treat she gave the kids lollipops. She probably opted for the sticky treat due to the fact that the kids would have dripped all over their matching color coordinated outfits. If the next episode is New York themed, maybe this episode will involve Kate revealing that she will be on the next “Celebrity Apprentice.” While reports have denied that she will be on the show we have other opinions. If her own show keeps failing she’ll need something to fall back on.

For better ratings, we hope that TLC got Kate and Jon’s epic fight in the middle of the street early July. Reports say that the couple was arguing about Jon’s visit. Apparently, Jon was running late with the kids and also reported Kate was mad about the van. Everyone loves to watch a good fight…isn’t that why everyone tuned in to “Jon and Kate Plus 8?” What would you like to see on the next episode of “Kate Plus 8?”

  1. Are the ratings low? I thought they were about 2.2 mil. In the summer, on Sunday nights, sporadically on and not consistently, isn't that higher than other TLC shows this summer? Isn't that what they averaged until the divorce segments booming? I can't get online to verify nbets, but I'll bet other TLC shows would like that. It isn't big network, it's TLC. Is it bad?

  2. Yes it was. But I truly feel that the reason is, they only show the specials once a month. I think if it was back to being on Mondays every week the ratings would be higher. I said it before.. I thought it was a mistake to switch it to Sundays. It killed my Ugly Betty show whenh they switched the date as well.

A few people I spoked to were upset that the show was changed and didn't realize to watch it that day. They IMO still have decent ratings, but leave it those that dont like her to focus on the ratings than on the show itself. They are never going to get those 9 million. Its never gonn a happen unless she has another standoff with Jon.

  3. I recently discovered this site. I read lots of post -- going into older ones. Something has me really wondering. All of you guys are friendly and very helpful and caring toward each other. Most of the posts were articulate and polite. What am I missing? Kate does not seem to me to be polite or caring. I don't think she would pay attention to any of us if we crossed her path. While I felt warmth and interest from the ladies who were posting here, I think Kate seems snobby. I don't hate her, I just would not want to be her friend. I would be uncomfortable with how much she needs to control things. I would be uncomfortable with her entitled attitude. I would get irritated by her made-up words and shrieks and fluttering gestures. On the other hand, I think the ladies at this site would be lovely friends. So, I wonder -- why and what am I not seeing that you do?

  5. MaryAnn~ Welcome. I hope you come and post more. I understand your feelings and thoughts but your question is a difficult one to answer. But mostly what I see, and the reason I have dedicated over 2 years to this person, is her dedication and love for her kids. When people comment, they see a photgraph or a bli in someones day. They don't see or know it all. Neither do we. But what we can see is a single mom working to provide for her family. A woman that is taking the opportunity she has been given and making the most she can with it. I see a strong individual, I see adorable, well-adjusted amazing kids. I see nothing wrong with what so many attack her for. I see a person that goes out there and is willing to try anything, no matter what any person says. These are just a few of the reasons why I support Kate Gosselin.

Again, I hope this was a good answer to your question. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Hi Mary Ann,

When I see Kate, I see someone who is trying. Someone who acknowledges she is flawed and someone who has admitted she has been wrong in the past. I do NOT see perfection, not even close to it. But I do see a good person, motivated by trying to make the best decisions for her family. I guess I see a lot of her in my sister. They have very similar personalities, so that helps me look at her actions from a different perspective. I love my sister and because of that I have patience for her, and that patience tends to spill over to others who seem like her. On the other hand, my sister can be the most fun person you have ever met. She likes to try new things, her attention to detail makes things extra nice, her creativity is refreshing, and she loves to laugh, I see this in Kate too.

  7. Thank you ladies for the gracious response. (I was kinda' timid about posting.) It just confirms my first impression of this site. I think I "topped out" over Kate when I watched the last program. My husband is in a service industry (not water filtration) and I would be so sad and embarassed for him if he entered a home by appointment and was treated the way Kate treated that very co-operative man. Maybe I took her dismissive reactions too personally. Baby Mama, your accepting response to a "newbie" (I had to open a Goggle account just to post here.) just makes me wonder more. I don't believe that on the busiest day of your life you would have ever been so unwelcoming to a tradesman. Maybe you are correct and Kate is a dedicated mother, but her children were sitting right there watching while she disrespected a professional. What kind of lesson are they learning?

  8. Schmecky~ Me too! I remember that as a kid as well. I hope we are both talking about the same thing! lol

  9. Mary Ann, I don't post here very often either because someone shares there opinion very close to mine and don't see the need to repeat it. The one moment you are speaking of if I remember correctly is when the guy put his tool chest down on her counter. If you don't know this about Kate she is sort of a germaphobic(SP?) So her reaction was to that. To be honest if someone is doing a repair in my home I expect them to set thier tool box on the floor and not my counters so I don't find her reaction to that over the top. Kate has admitted many times that she reacts before she speaks and admits this is a fault of her's and that she is trying to address it. Just my opinion of what happened there in that scene.

  10. MaryAnn~ forgive me with my post to you. I meant to say a "photograph or blip" in someones day. My phone didn't fix my sentence and made it worse. I'm starting to hate my IPhone. It gives all these words I didn't mean to say, they doesn't fix when I misspell something. What the heck??

    ReplyDelete
  11. And Im so sorry to post again but I forget something I wanted also to say and already hit "send". I wanted to add that personalities vary. Welcome to New York. People talk alot worse here. Not to say it's right, but Kate's personality is what it is. It may be harsh to some, but it doesn't bother me. What you may feel is disrespectful at times is just how people talk. It doesn't mean she's a terrible person or a bad mother. Sometimes I speak worse.

I guess on TV you have to remember how you speak because it's permanently there for those to criticize. I'm sure that if I saw myself on TV I would cringe. Its just someones personality you may not agree with. But does that mean the world must hate her?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Mary Ann,
Even as a fan of hers, I cringed when she spoke to that water service man that way. He tried to make a dancing with the stars reference to be funny and she wasn’t having it. I think she acted that way because she was very focused on the job at hand, but I didn’t like it, and that isn’t an excuse. I don’t believe that she really elevates herself over other people like that, but it does sometimes come across that way. I hope these are things she sees and tries to improve upon. I can understand why that would have upset you.

  14. Welcome Mary Ann and welcome back Dolly!
My reaction to the service repairman was different. I'm a germaphobe about my kitchen also. Clearly Kate was in the middle of meal prep when he arrived. If you look where his toolbox was placed, it was alongside food. I had a dishwasher repairman today whom I asked to put his toolbox on a stool or the floor but not on my counter. Through the video monitor I had watched him put it in the grass, on the driveway, and on the floor of my porch when he rang the doorbell. I didn't want it on my counter and I was not in the middle of meal prep. Given Kate's reaction from years ago, I felt her handling of it was fairly tactful. And she tactfully asked him if it could be done in another room instead of the kitchen. It was edited so we don't know how the conversation continued. I doubt she was chatty since it was mealtime, but we don't know.

  15. I hope this is not true. It is from a local PA blog.

    Rumor Has It...

And now a break from the serious. Rumor has it that an inebriated Jon and an inebriated friend of his snuck behind the Gosselin home to play a prank under cover of darkness. Giggling like the drunken fools they were, they proceeded to release about half of Kate's chickens into the neighbor's property before Kate realized there was a fox in the henhouse and called the police. After the police arrived Kate decided not to press charges. It is not known if she dropped them because she realized it was Jon behind the chickens flying the coop. Questions that remain include whether or not Jon gave some consideration to how the kids would feel if their new pet chickens disappeared or were hurt or killed by real foxes, or how many more times the Lower Heidelburg police department will be willing to waste its time on residents who haven't contributed much to the neighborhood other than traffic jams and embarrassing tabloid covers.

  16. Baby Mama - I'm coming to hate my iPhone also. Since the last upgrade it changes bizarre words in bizarre ways. When I tried to type "welcome" twice it changed it to Seville, which is not even remotely the same. Do you think Gremlins have gotten to it? But since I can't go downstairs to computer now, it sure is better than nothing! Have your scroll bars disappeared? That is most annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Par - that was a weird thing about Jon. I'm hoping it isn't true also. Given the site, it's really hard to know if it is true. I don't go to ROL, etc anymore. Was it posted anywhere else?

  18. For the record, I thought she handled the tool box part just fine. It was her behavior after they left the kitchen that bothered me.

    Sorry, I don’t know why I’m so chatty today…

    ReplyDelete
  19. Welcome Mary Ann, I understand what you are saying, I look at that situation (with Kate and the water service man) as she has so much on her plate. If they go into the kitchen and make a big mess that is just one more thing she has to do. So why not take him to a place more appropriate? Could she have handled it better? absolutly. She just knows how she needs to manage certain situations so she can keep everything in order. After all she already has 16 little hands making a mess at any given moment. I dont think she should have to apoligize for that. Thats why I love her so much, with Kate you get what you get and thats just who she is. I do see her trying to improving. As she has said many time "Once you have walked a mile in my shoes".

    ReplyDelete
  20. So, I wonder -- why and what am I not seeing that you do?

Mary Ann, I see some what of you do. Kate is impatient, controlling, and she can be rude. She does not handle frustration well. But I also see Kate as a strong, determined woman who wants her kids to have things that she lacked in her childhood and is willing to work hard to give them that.

Part of Kate's appeal to me is that she is a flawed human being. We all have weaknesses and things we need to work on and I don't believe in dismissing people because they aren't always perfect.

I must admit I also like Kate because there is so much over-the-top hate directed her way. I find all the nasty snark about her appearance, weight, clothing choices, etc. increases my empathy for her.

    ReplyDelete
  21. PAR, that is a very bizarre story. As much as I dont agree with most of what Jon does I just dont see him do that. I mean gee whats the point? Cause Kate more stress?? Is he that obsessed with her? I dont think so. I really hope that isnt true and just someone trying to bring attention to themselves.

lol wildchild, being chatty is a good thing :)

  22. Linda, I have not seen the story of Jon and the chickens anywhere but on the one blog.

  23. At the height of J&K+8 (excluding divorce period) the ratings averaged 2to2.5 million I believe. I think it's phenomenal to have 2 million now since it's a series of specials not a weekly series. I'll bet TLC is delighted with any show over 1 million. Second, TLC didn't really do many commercials about the second show. It's summer vacation period. Third, we don't even know when the next one will be. (unless sonebody's heard in last couple of days.). Perhaps the h people can assume the show tanked and move on to some other hate agenda. (well, I can wish, can't I?)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Par, thanks for the update. That sounds like too high school an act with the chickens. While Jon would like to be 23 again, I haven't heard him mention high school. It would also require some motivation, and sadly Jon has lacked both motivation or ambition to work. I don't think his kids would forgive him. I'm still hoping it is another figment of the nosey neighbor's imagination working overtime.

  25. wildchild~ I always love your posts, you are too funny about the chatty thing.. Isnt that what blogs are for? :)

Linda~ Its an adjustment not having actual keys to type on. The trolls LOVE when I talk about my long expensive tips that I want to rip off sometimes giving me a problem with my posts. 26. PAR~ I forgot to ask you, do you think that this story is even true? People make up so many stories. Especially about Kate Gosselin. My fav. so far is that she wanted to start a Christmas album and have the kids like the Von Trapp family..pretty hysterical. But coming from the source, that constantly make stuff up to see how far it goes in blogland..I really don't for a minute beleive it.

  28. Tiggerfan - newspapers everywhere are dying. To survive, many have added blog formats in their online presentations. Supposedly these articles are by columnists, but you have to remember that whether a regular blog, or newspaper blog, the difference is mostly in pay. They are paid to have an opinion, not paid to report which is a huge difference. This sheet, and the Baltimore Sun, are owned by the same parent company. They find anti-Kate perspectives to be financially productive for them.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Hi Mary Ann. I thought it would be fitting to greet you since I was in the same boat a couple of months ago.

A big fan of the kids, I came here to find something positive about Kate. I was blown away by the intelligence and friendliness of this group (not at all what you hear about the "Kate Loverz.") I stop by once or twice a week and I'm always amazed to find the same Kate-related stories that are on the negative blogs, but with a positive perspective. It's all in the way you look at things, right? If you're tired of the snark, this is the place to be.

Having said that, I'm still not feeling the "Kate Love" but I don't feel bad about it. Kate's a polarizing character. Many of the women here can identify with her in some way, but I just can't. I'm never mean to people. In fact I go out of my way to be polite. I don't bicker with my husband or put him down. Sure, he has the same annoying quirks most men have, but I find them endearing. I'd rather smother him with hugs and kisses than bitch at him. And the germs on the kitchen counter? Pardon me but I've got 3 young kids whose friends are over constantly, a cat, a dog and some guppies. Get a spray bottle & fill it with bleach & water for Pete's sake, or buy some Chlorox Wipes! I just can't relate to Kate's uptight attitude. Kids get dirty/counters get dirty - who cares? Life's too short.

I'm watching Kate and waiting until I can feel sympathy for her - because at this point that's the only way I'm ever going to like her. So far - nothing. I see a cocky woman who thinks money grows on trees (yet she yelled at Jon for not using a coupon!!) So Mary Ann, you & I are in this together. Stick with this blog and try to keep an open mind. Baby Mama is patient and very welcoming :)

  30. Tiggerfan~ Thank you for your post, I was thinking the same thing!

I wanted you to see this post from The Baltimore Sun. Normally I never read the garbage they spew, or whatever is e-mailed to me. But I found todays post very interesting.

'Kate Plus 8' child work permits defended
The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry Tuesday defended work permits it issued allowing the 6-year-old sextuplets of Kate Gosselin to appear in the reality series "Kate Plus 8." A department official says the permits are valid, and the case is closed. Bottom line, it looks as if the TLC show goes on despite questions raised by child advocates about the permits.

Last week, Pennsylvania State Rep. Thomas Murt questioned the validity of the permits, which run until Oct. 20, since they only allowed the children to appear in "public performances" -- not TV productions. Children under seven years of age are not allowed to appear in TV shows in Pennsylvania.

While Murt asked the attorney general to investigate the matter of the permits, that has not yet happened. Furthermore, under rules of protocul, it will only happen if the depertment of Labor & Industry asks the attorney general to rule on the matter.

And Tuesday, in a phone interview with the Baltimore Sun, Troy Thompson, a spokesman for the Department of Labor & Industry, said his office will not be asking the attorney general's advice.

Thompson defended the "performance" permits saying "they do what they need to do in terms of applying legal protections governing their (the sextuplet's) hours and education, the types of activities that they can perform, and making sure that we have access to all the filming done in Pennsylvania -- and they also mandate the earnings continue to be conserved for the children."

Aiming for absolute clarity, I asked Thompson the following question: "So, as far as you are concerned these permits are fine, they are the right ones that the children should have, and as far as your department is concerned, the issue is closed."

    He answered, "Yes."

    ReplyDelete
  31. I also want to add that since Mr. Murt tried unsucessfully to stir up some media for hie re-election, he needs to let it go and move on. I don't know where he even thought he was going with this, Quesioning the "validity" of the permits...other than trying to make himself look good.

Its clear to me now that it was all about getting his name out there, & ruffling some "feathers".

    ReplyDelete
  32. BM, I do know the source of the story with Jon and the chickens has a connection to the local police so I believe someone was messing with the chickens. I do not know if the information on it being Jon was an embellishment or not. However, a few things suggest to me it is possible -- Jon does not show the best judgment when he drinks, the person involved would have to know the property and the area, and no charges were pressed. I doubt Kate would drop charges against someone else.

I understand where the PA Department of Labor and Industry is coming from. Rep. Murt is grandstanding because he has to know that other children under 7 in PA appear on television. The Department has probably issued permits for television appearances for children under 7 with the interpretation of public appearance equating to TV. The Department cannot treat the Gosselin children differently than any other children in PA.

    ReplyDelete
  33. PAR~ Thanks for clarifying. How crazy would it be if the story was actually true? I didn't think that for a minute, but if some sicko is actually going on the property and messing with the families chickens, then that is crazy and scary for the family.

  39. Schmecky- I do not see TLC even remotely being in the same category! With TLC, the parents determine when and the conditions for filming. The children are paid. Should they desire, parents can discontinue at any time. With paparazzi, they pop out at any time, try to film the children on their own private property without permission, they are strangers and unknowns, all money goes into their own pockets. I still feel if people would stop the daily searches for anything Gosselin, the ability to sell the photos would decrease because the demand for them would go down.

Standing at the fence and taking pictures of the kids playing in there own driveway is NOT a public place. I do think they should have laws that they can not take pictures of them in their own yard. I think Kate planting the trees is the smartest thing she has ever done.

    ReplyDelete
  42. No Schmecky - what you initially said was equating paparazzi and TLC. How do you know the children were not asked. When filming was J&K+8 we heard Jon say they didn't want to film on a day, and they did not. We are not talking about daily filming. We are not talking about all day filming. The permits are very specific so I do not feel there are concerns about abuse there. If you truly feel TLC is wrong, then I challenge you to stop watching completely. I'm referring to delayed watching, taped watching, YouTube watching, etc as in no watching? Today I've had emailed to me 6 different commercials on the PA affiliate that are locals made with children who are obviouly young. I wonder if Murt has checked on their permits?

The way I see it is Kate KNOWS money doesnt grow on trees and so she is doing everything she can now while offers are coming in like DWTS, talk shows, Apprentice, Twist of Kate etc. to make good money so she can secure her future for her children. There wont be an intrest forever so she is being smart and taking it while its being offered.

  45. Schmecky, I see your point and absolutly respect your opinion on that. Thats a very valid point. Its just that 'the show' is what Jon and Kate as parents decided what was best for their life so they could give their children the best life possiable. That is their right as parents to do so. I know you dont agree with their desicion, I totally understand your reasons why, very valid reasons. It is what it is.

  48. Schmecky - your opinion of Kate's work is just that, an opinion. She did rehearsals for DWTS, and TV appearances. The woman honestly said she couldn't dance before they hired her. It was DWTS decision to hire her and to pay her. She is filming on the series that includes no children. She has done several entertainment evening broadcasts. She has done a book. She has done 3 visits to The View. We are all aware that you detest her, and find no value in anything she does. You do not need to belabor the point here. Obviously there are folks who find merit in what she does because they pay her. She isn't there for free. If you don't like her, don't watch her. If people don't continue to pay her. she won't get paid. I don't think NFL players deserve 10 million a year for doing games, my opinion. But obviously somebody does, or they wouldn't get paid. I still say spend your time doing things you enjoy and avoid things you don't.

  55. SG - There are those of us who enjoy seeing Kate! I realize that's impossible for you to comprehend, but we do. I do not normally watch the view because I do not care for Whoopi or Joy. But I will watch Kate there. I would watch her on a cooking show, I would watch her on a show about buying the best organic foods, I would watch her on many formats. I enjoy her laugh. I realize you do not, but I do. If I don't like something I simply don't watch it.If no one found her enjoyable, I don't think anybody would be watching.

  56. Who gets to define work? To me it is often the person who offers the paycheck. Although that doesn't say much for the millions of stay at home moms whose paycheck is the feeling if taking care of their family and not from cash The US doesn't do that. However, in many enlightened countries such ad th Scandanavian ones, stay at home moms do get a cash paycheck from the government. Perhaps you can get a job on TLC handling programming. How come nobody has launched a boycott of the many young children on Toddlers and Tiaras? Did you change your position, and you are entitled to do so, when in May you said you weren't opposed to Gosselin specials just a regular weekly show? I'm curious.

  59. Well, I was off to read until I read the last TLC comment. Kids are gathering books.I saw NO children who did not look pleased, SG, so be specific. Presents, lol, please not another TLC conspiracy theory! They kids looked surprised beyond words to me! I know you are expert at reading emotion into still photos, but these were videos. I know they could have been edited but unless you saw something on the cutting room floor, I sure didn't see it. Even the two with the least exuberance were the two who raced down the steps to show off the reworked playroom. Who did not looked pleased?

  60. Linda,
I didn't say they didn't look surprised. I never mentioned a TLC conspiracy. I said the crew came bearing a lot of wrapped presents for them the day they resumed filming. I saw the pics online of them bringing them to the house along with the cameras.

I was specific. I said Mady didn't look thrilled. She was standing behind the door when it opened, from what I remember.

  61. Whoa Good afternoon everyone! I see I was missing a good convo here....

loriAnn~I wouldn't refer to Kate as being cocky at all. This is her personality and the marriage with Jon was a couple very comfortable in handling each other a certain way. It may be wrong in many persons eyes I but this is how she spoke and talked to her husband. I can't stand when people attack a marriage with flaws. Kate has said many times that you don't realize sometimes that your so comfortable doing or saying things you may not realized its the best way to be. She has a strong personality just like myself, and if you saw how I spoke to my husband on National TV you would probably be yelling at me too. The major difference is that I am super blessed with an incredible husband that puts up with my diva behavior, and thats why I married him! lol

Schmecky~ I haven't gone through all the posts, so forgive me if I'm commenting on just one train of your thought. Re: Kate's "supposed career". I can't beleive as a woman you wouldn't 100% support that. Her "career" she has said many times in interviews.. is a personallity/entertainer. In my eyes she's already viewed as a "celebrity brand". How can you not support any single mom that has taken it upon herself to use her celebrity she was given to support her kids? This is how many of her supporters see it, though I'm sure they would be able to describe it better than than me.

I support Kate BECAUSE of all that she has done. She was a simple nurse from PA that was blessed with amazing kids. Who would go back to being a nurse when you could take as far as she can and hopefully make into a multi million dollar brand.. Sign me up please. This is the difference between fans that admire her, and those that wish to attack her for it.

And while we all know that you are not a supporter of Kate, I'm so happy to have a fan site where people that do, can come here and have a calm, respectful debate.

    --------------------------------------------

Well, first, I know others don't agree but I don't consider Kate a "single mom." I consider her a divorced mom whose husband has a part in raising and supporting their children. I consider a single mom one that does that without the help from their father.

Second, both Kate and Jon used this as their "career" to support their family before they got divorced.

Third, yes, as a woman I do support a woman having a career. I do have certain issues with some mother's having careers depending on how it affects their children but that is a whole other topic, etc. And usually very extreme examples. But, yes, I do support women having careers.

Fourth, I don't get the "career" thing still. Being a "celebrity" is not a career. You usually become a celebrity due to a career. I'm still lost on the career thing. Besides, I was referring to "work." Actual work. Yes, I do think the ET cohost jobs she did were considered "work." I'll even give her "The View" although it was only for a few minutes at a time.

Fifth, I don't coun't Kate Plus 8 as Kate's "career" because that show is largely about the kids. I don't consider it as Kate supporting her family as much as I do the kids or the family supporting the family. If Kate has Twist of Kate then I'd consider her doing that show as her career.

I also don't consider what Jon does as "work" either. I know he has an income, but I don't think he's working for it either.

  63. I have to take issue with SG claims that the kids are filming throughout the summer vacation. How do we know this? There hasn't been a schedule released and we've seen the children with Jon and Ellen and it doesn't appear that they have gone anywhere to do any filming. The paps certainly would grab their opportunity if they saw the TLC cameras going into the Gosselin house. I think this is an assumption and I think it's wrong to assume the kids will be filming the whole summer when in fact they may just be home being kids. Then I have to take issue that Kate doesn't work for it, whether on DWTS, The View or any other program or interview she may have. Just being a mother of eight children is more than enough work and please don't bring up this so called extensive staff that some have claimed Kate has. There is no prove of any of this. I've heard it said Kate has tons of nannies. Sorry but I don't believe that. She may have one to help her when she needs it but I don't believe there is a whole staff of nannies. I think there is an awful lot of assuming here about Kate's life. I have several family members who have the Type A personality like Kate has. They are even fussier than Kate is! Apparently those that don't know someone with a Type A personality don't know that usually in most cases the Type A personality is so overly fussy and they would rather do the work themselves then to be frustrated by hiring someone else to do it because it won't meet their standards. The truth is that basically the Type A personality is obsessive about cleanliness, neatness and being orderly, so most and yes even the wealthy ones would rather do the work themselves, that way they know it's done right. That doesn't make them a bad person, and in fact with eight children it's probably good that Kate is orderly and wants things neat or there might be total chaos in that house. Even Jon himself admitted publicly that Kate's being fussy and orderly made their lives much easier and less chaotic.
We've seen other contestants on DWTS say season after season that people don't realize how much time and how much work goes into preparing for each show so to make the claim that just because Kate didn't dance well which she admits that she had a difficult time, doesn't mean she didn't work. The same thing goes for say appearances on The View. We only see what the camera shows us but we don't know what goes on behind the scenes to prepare for the show so again it's assuming that Kate doesn't work she she makes appearances.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm sorry but my dander sort of got bent out of shape because for years the stay at home mom was treated like she just sat around and ate bon bons all day long and watched television and that being a stay at home mother wasn't someone who worked. As a stay at home mother myself while the children grew up I have to differ with that assumption that mothers don't work when they stay home. I without a doubt worked many more hours than my husband worked. That doesn't demean or devalue his hard work because he did work very hard but if you were to clock the hours of a housewife and everything she does you would find that the number of hours far exceeded the normal 40 hour a week job. There aren't any days off from the job.
Kate has stated publicly that if the children didn't want something filmed then it wouldn't be, if they didn't want to appear to be on camera that she would respect their feelings. We've even seen times in outtakes where Kate puts up her hand either because she feels the kids need privacy for a bit or because a child didn't want their moment filmed. So I honestly feel that Kate respects her children's wishes and takes into consideration whether they want something on film or not. We've seen her do it for heaven's sake. So yes I take issue with the statement that the kids are being forced to film when all I've seen a majority of the time is the children happy to see the cameras and their crew. Yes some of the children appear to dislike the paps. The paps are a whole different breed than a film crew. They are obnoxious, yell out things to the people they want to photograph and will do anything to get a photo so I do wish there was a law that would prevent these kinds of people invading into their personal lives and taking pictures even if they have to trespass or whatever it takes. So I don't blame the children if they don't like them. Sorry Baby Mama but to say Kate doesn't work for the money she earns just hit a nerve because I know how hard it can be to raise children and to handle a household and then add to that to work to provide for your family basically alone while the Daddy appears to not even be looking for a job and from his Twitters I gather it's basically about his self promotion and just playing games quite literally all day long and being with his latest "love of his life" while Kate is working hard to support her children and to do most of the caretaking just set me on fire when a claim is made that Kate doesn't work. Hopefully one day Jon will decide to grow up and get out of this "Peter Pan Syndrome" stage and will get a job to help support his children. Frankly I don't know how Kate does it all and she has allot of her plate and for that I admire her and despite all the horrible things that happened last year she is moving on and doing the best for her family. I don't think it's fair to judge a mother just trying her best to love and support her children. Most of all I think it's Kate and Jon's business how they raise their children.

  65. SG, I disagree about becoming a celebrity through a career. Celebrity, or to be celebrated, or famous, can simply come from birth, luck, and life circumstances, not necessarily a career. Stating the she is using her celebrity to make money to support her children is a valid point.

more for her personality than for her work ethic. I personally feel angry when people attack her drive to work and be in the spotlight. I think it's amazing.

    Hence why I'm here..lol

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lexxi,
I said "ASIDE FROM" being a mother of 8. I know what a SAHM does. I am one now. I know what it takes to maintain a household and raise children.

I was not referring to her being a mother. I can only imagine how much work is involved with 8 kids. Although I do think the nanny or nannies helps bring that down a notch. Even if it is the equivalent to having 4 kids or 6 kids, I still know it's a lot of work.

We also don't know if Kate has a housekeeper or not. If she does, that makes a huge difference, but we don't know that. I do know she was looking to hire one on the show though.

But back to being a SAHM... I don't know where you got that I was talking about that. I specifically said aside from that.

I don't know... does she consider being a SAHM her career? I don't think she gets paid to be a SAHM. Even TLC filming her does not really show just the ins and outs of being a SAHM. TLC filming her taking the kids to Discovery Cove is not filming her being a SAHM so I don't think one has to do with the other.

I think you're missing my point. Although maybe I'm just not explaining it well.

  69. Yes that may be a valid point that Kate is using her celebrity status to make money to support her children but seriously who are we to judge if that's right or wrong. Let's remember though that for the past year most of the discussion has had nothing to do with the children but most of the commotion has been over Jon and Kate individually. I think that Kate's number of fan base has increased because of all the naysayers that are saying awful things about Kate when all she is doing is trying to support her children and many working mothers are tired of standing on the sidelines while the people that hate Kate keep harping and harping on her about everything she says and does when it all comes down to the basic fact that she is a working mother whether some may agree or not and millions of working mothers are tired of seeing Kate get all this negative attention because she does have to work to support her children. The people that hate her say she doesn't need to work and can stay home because she has all this money. How do they know how much she is worth? Don't they realize that all those lawyers for the past year cost her quite a bit of money that may take years to pay off. We don't know if Jon ran up the credit cards before they were divorced and Kate probably being the responsible one knew Jon would never pay them so instead of filing for bankruptcy because of the debt incurred through the last year of the marriage Kate is paying them and in order to support her children and pay those bills that may not even be her's but were from Jon, she is responsible for his debts too because they were married so maybe she has had to take on that financial burden too. None of us know the financial or intimate details of their lives and I for one will stand up for Kate's right to do what is best for her children as long as they are healthy, happy and getting a good education. There is no child abuse and there never was. It's just been a bunch of mean girls that are total outsiders that are judging every move this family makes. If Kate is using her celebrity status to support her children it's not for us to judge her because after all Kate wouldn't even be as big of a celebrity as she is right now unless we the public were interested.

  74. Does it really make any difference if Kate is being paid to be a stay at home mom? As someone mentioned before there is a country that pays the moms that stay home with their children. Some years back I remember when one of the US Presidents at that time also felt that stay at home moms weren't getting the credit they should. I look at it this way, the show right now is about Kate and her children and their lives. Well Kate is their mother and yes a mother does work to take care of her children so why do we need to take this all apart? In a sense Kate is being paid to stay home and raise her children and that does involve work and for that I say bravo to her because let's be honest what mother wouldn't want to be paid to stay home and raise their family? If our government were to offer to pay you to stay home and raise your children would you turn it down? I think not. Sometimes I think it's all dissected too much and we should remember it's just a show about a family and we get to see a very tiny slice into their lives and the only reason it has been blown out of proportion is because it all started when a couple of family members wanted to be paid to be on the show and when they were turned down they decided they could still make money by opposing the show and coming up with lies and innuendos and from this they made their own career to infamy and lots of money. It didn't matter they tore their own family apart because after all they got their house paid for and a whole lot more. I won't mention names but we all know who that was. I just have utter and complete disgust for that part of the family that set out on the path to the destruction of their own family for money. Don't give me the child abuse crap because there never was any abuse, it was just for their own selfish reasons.

  75. Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, they got their reality show because of who they were and were already celebrities. Children of celebs like Michael Jackson’s children, children of politicians, such as Chelsea Clinton, etc. Do any of you read the Pioneer Woman blog? I’d say she has become a celebrity of sorts and that all started from a regular blog! Those are just a few that come to mind.

    ReplyDelete
  76. WOW, Single, or Divorced Are labels and for 20 years I didn't think there was a difference. SG, I get it now, your definitions are OK with me.

Careers, Celebrities, or Jobs - Before J&K divorced I would not consider her a celebrity, but she has now done stuff beyond the show that maybe she could be considered one. Butttt she did only get those spots because of the ratings she drew. So what is her real talent?????????????? The debate goes on!

Remember when Jon went on line when he worked as an IT. He stated he was going to fix it so he would never have to work again. Jon and Kate worked it together so they would have continual support for all of them. Kate has continued down that same path. TLC will milk this until there are no more ratings.

To everyone that says Jon should get a job, well he does work for TLC also.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Lexxi - pertaining to your post about the debt Kate Might have taken over.
When they Mediate your Assets in a divorce, its all divided equal. In this case when so many children are involved to care for, Kate got almost all of them (assets I mean). Honestly, Jon did the short stick in that deal. He had the right to appeal, but didn't. Probably felt guilty. So, please don't feel sorry for Kate, she wanted to be divorce and famous.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Basically yet Jon is getting paid by TLC but Jon is different, he really isn't working for it. What does he do for TLC other than allowing the kids to have the show? It's Kate that has to do everything this is involved with the times they are now filmed which may not be as much as some think. Kate gets the kids dressed, fed, and watches over them on their adventures while daddy sits at his home just apparently according to his twitters, just playing games online and doing surveys that he gets paid for. Sorry but I think Kate has a much harder job since she is responsible and has custody of the eight children while Jon's time with the children is spent playing. It's not like Jon even has visitation every week. You must also remember that Jon probably figures he is lucky at this particular job because he doesn't have to actually work at all and don't forget that Jon was fired from his past jobs. Why? Lazy. Why does some of these people think that Kate doesn't work? I don't get it when as a mother you clearly do work. Sometimes I have to wonder if these people that make the claim that Kate doesn't work were ever a parent to begin with.

    ReplyDelete
  79. We should be discussing the kids. Since TLC, made such a big deal about the tups 6th Birthday, I sure hope they are away filming something special for the twins Birthday!
SG - Rumor has it that Kate is in Europe, so are the twins with her?
The twins have been ignored, as far as I'm concerned. JMHO1

    ReplyDelete
  80. lEXXI- The parent that gets physical Custody always has the harder job. They have the kids on a full-time basis, more or less. You reap what you sow, kinda. The visiting parent is just that most of the time. Kate is a divorced parent and dealing well with what comes with it.
She also has a live in nanny now and as the kids get older it get a little easier.

    I'm done now!

    ReplyDelete
  81. caregiver come on, is it Kate's fault that Jon couldn't hire a lawyer that was bright enough to represent him fairly? We've all seen Jon's choices in lawyers and to say they have been basically a joke is understating it. If you think Jon felt guilty that is the biggest surprise because from day one Jon has not shown an ounce of real regret. Oh he said the words but his actions and words following those statements never stood the test of time and showed any real remorse. To this day I seriously doubt he has any remorse. After all he is free to play and only has to play with his children when and if he feels like it. Sorry but it shocks me to think that Kate wanted a divorce. She didn't and for a long time she kept hoping Jon would come to his senses until it became so obvious that Jon had gone too far to come back. Kate wanted to be famous? Let's get real here. The only ones that made Kate famous was people like you and I and all the other people whether they support her or hate her, it's all the attention the public is engaged in that makes Kate famous. Let's be real here and that's the honest truth. WE ALL, the PUBLIC made Kate famous.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Love her or hate her I think she is here to stay for a long time because it's obvious that the haters will keep on hating her and her fans will continue to support her and the right to be a working mother. If I want to feel bad for Kate that is my right. It was her husband Jon who said a year ago that he would do anything and everything to get attention and he didn't care what he had to do or what he had to say to get it. Go look at that interview again. It's still online. Jon is also responsible for making Kate famous because basically he made such a darn fool out of himself so yes for Kate and the children I do feel bad they had to suffer through watching the self destruction of their father and Kate's husband. The truth is whether you like it or not, Kate held on to hope that the old Jon would come back until towards the very end before the divorce was final and it was his last stunts that proved that Jon would never be the same. Thankfully the younger children don't know how bad their father made a fool out of himself but sadly the older ones do but just the same he is their father and they love him as they should. No one is perfect and Kate has her faults but she has admitted to them and is trying to get better at what she knows her faults are. The problem is that so far Jon has not admitted his faults honestly at all and he continues on the path to nothing but utter and complete laziness. Still should the children love both their parents? Of course they should and do.

    ReplyDelete
  83. In the end those judging Kate so harshly should look in the mirror and see their own faults and work on that for themselves and allow Kate and Jon to work on their own faults and live their lives without all of us dissecting every single move they make. Sorry BabyMama but I do get defensive of Kate, not because I love her but because I admire her and the strength she has shown to hold her head up high and do what is best for her family and ignore the naysayers who want their lives to be in ruin. Let's be honest the only way the haters will ever be happy is if Kate were to end up on welfare and food stamps. Thankfully Kate is a hard worker and very determined and I doubt that will ever happen. They just don't get it. Even if the filming were to stop tomorrow the family will never be forgotten. The paps and the media would still follow them no matter what because the people that hate Kate despite the years of protesting will never give up and those of us mothers who support a mother and her right to raise her children without the public's interferrence and her right to support them the best she can will never go away. The media frenzy has been too intense and since the haters will never give an inch and that's obvious because even when the filming stopped last year they kept on their hate rants without even a pause. So it's here to stay and if you don't like Kate then don't watch or read or comment on her. Your life will be much simpler. Since I don't respect Jon I don't seek out articles on him nor do I set up a blog hating on him. Isn't that interesting if you stop and think about it? There is a number of hate blogs devoted to hating on Kate and yet while many of us supporters to not care for Jon as far as I know, there isn't a single blog set up just to hate on him. Why is that? I know the answer but can some of you that hate anything and everything about Kate admit why there isn't a blog devoted to hating Jon like there are hate blogs devoted to hating Kate? The answer is simple but most will not be honest and admit to the reason there isn't a blog devoted to hating Jon. I would never do that nor would most of the Kate supporters I know would ever do something like that. Come on those that don't like Kate be honest and admit why the hate blogs on Kate and not on Jon. Unbelievably I did see one person last week that hates Kate that was honest enough to come out and publicly state that yes it was because she was jealous of Kate. I say bravo to that person because they at least admitted why they hated her and didn't hide under the so called child welfare banner which we all know isn't the real reason. We all want to protect children and don't have a problem with protections put into place but when one family and only one family is the target of these protections then something is wrong in the land of the so called child advocates that they only speak against Kate. Ok I an now going to come off my soap box as I've said my peace. The Kate bashing will continue and as long as it goes on Kate will be here to stay. Thank you haters because you are the ones keeping her out there.

I haven't even been playing my games on FaceBook! (that's saying something) Been taking some time to craft and relax. I hope it helps. Don't like being cranky.

To answer Mary Ann's question (and I really like the way she presented it) I don't always agree with the way Kate is. BUT she is a person I can identify with and never presents herself as perfect. Imperfect people are my favorite kinds of people. I am by far so imperfect it's not even funny, but I embrace who I am and so does Kate. I can relate to her reaction to the water guy because it comes with the territory when you have a preemie. It's a hard habit to break once they have cleared the 5 year mark I would think. My preemie is 3 and I still annoy the crap out of people with my germaphobia. I guess my complete answer would be that Kate is relatable. And you are correct in the assumption that the ladies here are pretty cool cuz they are. I have made some pretty cool cyberfriends here. :)

  85. Well wildchild, I guess we each have our own view of what a celebrity is, which is fine. To me the ones you mentioned are the kids of celebrities. They may be famous because of who their parents are but I don't think they are celebrities. I personally feel that Paris and Nicole only became celebrities after their reality show.

As for the pioneer woman I have heard of her, but I think she is famous (and I'm pretty sure only among bloggers) for blogging about her life which is something in itself. I don't think she is famous for being a pioneer.

  91. I dont' believe that the majority of people even heard about Jon and Kate, except for fans until after Jodi and Kevin turned against their own family. Sorry but it can be spinned anyway but the fact is that neither Kate or Jon didn't get near the media attention until out of greed their family members turned against them. Then it went totally out of control after Jon was photographed with another woman and all hel_ broke lose. I'me being perfectly honest I didn't see either Jon or Kate's names in the tabloids until AFTER Jodi and Kevin. If you choose to believe it was before you are entitled to your opinion it's just that from many the people I know they never heard of any of them until Jodi and Kevin and then the hate blog was set on fire. That was also when the media started to get hot too. It's sad that this is the only family that has been targeted from day one. No other family or show has had the media attention like this one and to this day although there are many families that are on reality shows the only one that seems to be the target is the Gosselins. You can excuse Jodi and Kevin but I'm sorry I can't and that's my opinion.
Craftymom I bet you had fun at Girl Scout camp. Oh how I treasure the years I spent at camp and then the following years as a counselor. Those were some of the best times.

  92. That's the part I will never understand is why some people consider it working. The kids are filmed doing what other kids do, playing. So they get to take fun and educational trips, that's not working. There have been family shows for years and years. Remember Ozzie and Harriet for one? There are so many that have been on the air, it's just that it's been given a new name, Reality Shows. I'm sorry but if that's working there is something wrong with the thinking on the part of the person calling it work. The kids aren't forced to do anything. We have seen the kids thrilled at seeing the film crew and these kids are getting such wonderful life experiences with these trips and everything has an educational value to it. I don't understand the thinking that it's working. Working is memorizing and learning a script, which the Gosselin children don't' do. So they have planned activities, so what? Don't you remember the older twins sitting at the picnic table with Jon and one got into trouble because she said that mom comes up with lots of fun things to do? The kids have been filmed very little when you compare their show to other shows that have been on the air presently and in the past. Seriously Disney wouldn't exist without children on TV. Don't tell me you and your children haven't ever watched a Disney movie or show. Can't you see how ridiculous this all is.

The few and yes only a few and the reason they are remembered is because of the media attention that was given at the time, children that grew up and got into trouble most had problems not even related to the television or film industry. There were problems to begin with at home or other outside sources like not the right friends. The only problems the Gosselin are going to have is because of the immense amount of people who think they have a right to tell another family what they can and can't do.

Just the other night was a show that Corey Feldman was on and while he had minor scrapes an nothing compared to his friend Corey Haimes, he, Cory Feldman, had problems at home long before he appeared in anything. In fact he was raised by his grandparents and he said they were there every moment for him and on the set with him.

The only real harm that the Gosselin children are suffering is at the hands of people who think they are protectors. Frankly it's these so called advocates that are causing more harm then a few hours a week or like now a few hours maybe a month every few months could ever cause these children.

Let's face it you can do everything right and bring your kids up with all the moral values in the world and they can be brought up by some pretty fantastic parents and you will still find that a child will go astray later on. There are too many factors to always blame the parents. It's not fair to blame the parents for everything because it can be their friends, peer pressures and so many other things in their lives that can lead them astray from their great upbringing. Even though in the future maybe just one of the Gosselin children go astray you can bet that these so called child advocates will be right there screaming it was Kate's fault and the fault of filming even if none of that had anything to do with it.

I for one will hope that all the children grow up to be wonderful young men and women. It seems that many from some of the comments I've read on other blogs they actually are sick enough to wish and hope that the children grow up to have problems. Now who is sicker? Kate is standing strong and ignoring all the negativity and doing the best she can for her children and will continue to do so.

If all these wonderful experiences that the Gosselin children is considered working then there needs to be a whole new definition of the word "working" because from what I've seen, the children have been having a blast and learning all at the same time.

  93. Schmecky- if you have an iPhone, you can't do paragraphs. For some bizarre reason, with blogger and the last upgrade the IPhone took away the scroll bars and hitting return for paragraph, will send the text overlaying itself. Works fine for wordpress blogs but not those on blogger. Hmm, maybe because we got iPhones and not the Google phone, lol. It's an annoyance we have to live with.

  94. Lexxi, All I have to say is *high 5* girl, LOL

We VERY much share the same opinion in all things Gosselin. I agree with everything you said today.

  95. Schmecky - so if you are the child of a celebrity, but a celebrity none-the-less, that doesn't count? What about if you are the spouse of a celebrity and become one, that doesn't count either? Give it up folks, if Schmecky doesn't want to count it, she isn't no matter whom you list. Her privilege. I can think of many, but no point, I guess they wouldn't count either. Wait. That is silly, if you are a celebrity, you are one! It doesn't matter a rip how you got to be one. It matters that you have the name recognition.

  96. Linda, you are right. If you post on an Iphone or some other communication devices they won't allow you to make paragraphs. Sometimes even if you try you will lose everything you wrote and boy is that frustrating. I have enough problems with the darn little text buttons as it is without it all disappearing into space somewhere.

  98. I have forwarded on to Murt the video clips of other young children, filmed in PA for viewing in PA of children other than Gosselins. It will be interesting to see if a single one of the others is followed up. There is a ruling. There is a permit. The laws are being followed. The kids are filming for a few days this summer. The next person who lies to say, they are spending their summer filming" must not pass go but immediately return to first grade since they are so stupid they are unable to do basic counting!! All penalties incurred will be paid to the Gosselin kids. Geez. For some of these hating families HOW can they spend so many hours a day in pursuit of someone they don't like??? That is bizarre. Normal people who don't like someone avoid contact unless forced to do so. IMO it is really warped and sick to spend hours upon hours writing and pursuing venting the hatred and dislike. If forced to come into contact with or research somebody else they disliked for 3,4,5+ hours a day, there would be an uproar of heard coast to coast!!! This has nothing to do with the kids, and everything to do with hate of Kate! Folks, IMO that is just sick! The solution is so simple. If you do not like her, turn off the tv, and for heavens sake quit blogging nonstop about her!

  99. Linda,
That is not what I said. That was your interpretation of what I said.

For instance, Kate Hudson... Daughter of a celeb. She is also a celeb. Denise Richards... Wife of a celeb. She is also a celeb. Same for Katie Holmes. Liv Tyler... Daughter of a celeb. She is also a celeb.

Is Hugh Jackman's wife a celeb because she walked down the red carpet with him? I say No. Maybe you say Yes. I'd still disagree.

P.S. The snark against me lately is really unbecoming and not like you normally. Is it something you plan to continue?

  100. Schmecky - your definition of single parent is your definition. It is but one! We have debated this previously. People then offered you various dictionary definitions. The law, in a majority of jurisdictions defines as: "single parent: divorced or never married adult who is the primary caregiver in a household with children." You may have whatever your opinion is. In this case, IMO you are wrong. Kate is divorced. She is the primary caregiving adult in the household where children are living. Please, must we rehash old debates? A divorced parent may also be a single parent, but a single parent is not necessarily a divorced parent.

  101. I honestly don't think anyone is snarking. It's just a difference of opinion and we are all entitled to it. I can respect your views but just because I don't agree doesn't mean I'm being snarky. You just see it all in a different light then some of us. This celebrity definition though is really getting boring. There are so many ways that a person can be defined as a celebrity and honestly let's not act like it's a bad thing because it isn't.

  102. CraftyMom~ Miss ya girl! So glad you are back! I have to remind myself to get on your blog, it's my place of Zen that I haven't been to in a while. And yes, I have to say we have a great bunch of people on this site!

Schmecky~I want to quickly say that I agree with you that it is not all Jodi & Kevin's fault however I think they had ALOT to do with the beginning of the "attack" of the Gosselins. I also feel that they took advantage of the situation. They paid off their house at that time and I feel that they also did what they needed to do for themselves knowing it would destroy the relationship between him & his sister. Also you cannot put aside the fact that WAY before they went public for money (and they were paid) they allowed Jodi's sister Julie to basically try to destroy Kate for the satisfaction of helping her sister. That was throughtless, crude & wrong. Who sits back and allows their sister to attack her husband's sister so publically like that. That made Jodi trash in my eyes even though she was such a great aunt to those kids.

#1Caregiver~ We know you don't hate Kate. :) But even when Kate does things outside of the kids she still gets attacked for being away from the kids. So basically people will make up any excuse to attack her. I also would have loved for her to Celebrity Apprentice. But Im sure it was being away from her family again for a period of time that made her not step up. Donald Trump said on many an interview that her really wanted Kate on the show and was still trying ot make it happen .

  103. Schmecky - which comment do you think was specifically snark against you? I can't cut and paste and can't scroll up to type exactly. I was referring to your comment, after examples were given, and then you said those were children of celebrities not celebrities. Then you said what other celebrities are there other than careers or reality tv? Insert paragraph she was trying to list examples. Let's see, celebrities by birth, Charles, William and royalty. Celebrities who are children of celebrities - many actors children. Other celebrities by birth: heirs and heiresses who did nothing but be born wealthy. I think I'd have to add reality tv as a legitimate genre. I might not like it but it's happening. Insert paragraph. I'd say that the reality series on major networks, along with Bravo and MTV have greater viewerships so it happens faster than tiny TLC which is a subsidiary of Discovery Channel which, although growing, still isn't one of the major 4. Until J&K+8 if a TLC series brought in a million viewers that was almost unimaginable.

I did not think you were being snarky at all.

    Good night everyone.

  105. Have a good evening Schmecky.

  106. Schmecky - my comment on the all day bloggers was not directed at you. There are two major haters that are online almost anytime of the day or night. That's the persons to whom that remark was directed. I have no idea how much you are online at other sites and I don't really care. One of the two has almost taken over one columnist's blog. I get some of her posts emailed to me. Over a year ago I gave up trying to post any counter view there. If it isn't hate on Kate it doesn't rate. Insert paragraph. I do have a difficult time with much of Kevin and Jodi because they insinuated that Kate was at fault for her children being denied their grandparents. Maybe. But Those same grandparents have nothing to do with Kevin and Jodi's kids either. I don't know about the other grandchildren. Who knows, maybe the problemb is with the grandparents. Maybe or maybe not.

  107. SG,

Babymama did not want me to post the link to the source. But if you want more information look up Wernygal.

There are plenty of celebrities who are well known for reasons other than their careers or reality TV - Levi Johnson, Michael Lohan, Jesse James, Elizabeth Edwards, etc.

Since when is parenting all about what the children prefer? Parenting is making choices for the children that they might not make for themselves. My son does not prefer to wear braces, or go to school, attend chuch, and honor some of his commitments. I make him do all of those things and don't feel I am a bad parent as a result.

The trade off being sacificing privacy versus higher quality education and more opportunities is too complex for children to make.

  108. There are sites 1oo% devoted to hate on Kate. Not defending or supporting the kids, just purely hate on Kate. Do I want to go there? Do I feel I could educate them to any other point of view? No. Even if I disagree with them, do I feel they have a right to their opinion? Absolutely. Insert paragraph. When I go to a site that says FAN site, I figure those folks are fans of somebody. For a Gosselin fan site, I'd like to hear words of support spoken. If you feel additional steps should be taken for kids, this is probably not the site, but one of the many where they want you to sign a petition, write a letter, etc. If you want to talk about how much one of the kids has grown, or is more articulate, or has become so helpful, or similar, this is the website. If you want to talk about Kate nit working, not taking care of her kids, not being a good mother, or similar, you can expect a heated debate; one of the gate sites would be better suited. Insert paragraph. If you want to talk about how wrong the Gosselins were for continuing past season two, you are probably going to get a heated debate. Insert paragraph. NO show on TLC had ever generated this much attention so it was and is, atypical and not to be expected. You cannot go backwards. You cannot stop the recognition. The paps won't stop until there is no sale for photos. That won't happen as long as haters or fans click and comment. Kate can walk away now. Would it stop thevpaps? It sure as heck didn't stop them during the many months of no series shooting. That would mean continued pap photos of the kids that bring no money to Gosselin kids savings as well as lost income from TLC. That wouldn't be very smart. Earn every penny you can now and bank for the days down the road where there's no interest. Kate blocked some with trees and I hope she plants more. I disagree Schmecky - I do not feel Kate was calling the paps; I do feel Jon was because they paid him; yes that's JMO.
