Jon & Kate: The First 10 Years, Keeping The Cameras Rolling, New Episode Lineup

Hello Gosselin fans! As you can see, I have the current schedule lineup, till the new episodes start. I am here watching last weeks episode and my heart breaks. And while I'm sure this weeks retrospective show will not be shattering in the ratings, its really for the fans to feel a little better after hearing the news that Jon & Kate are separating. I still feel like one of my family is leaving and I am still hoping that things will change for this couple. Until then, we get to see the episodes that were put on the shelf, in the hopes that we can feel more happy watching this family as they were, rather than the heartache they are enduring now. Seeing the photos today of Kate returning home to huge hugs from Cara & Mady was so sweet. Jon was with the kids and his brother Mark. Jon is now wearing his wedding band on the other side.

Positive thoughts now that there is some sort of a happy Holiday coming for both.. It seems that Jon & Kate look to spend July 4th with the kids...TOGETHER. Now that's an episode I can look forward too..

Monday’s episode will be a clip show of the family’s happier times. When new episodes resume — the expected premiere date is Aug. 3 — the focus will remain on the “parent-child relationship,” Ms. O’Neill said. Still, it seems likely that the impending separation — papers for the dissolution of marriage were filed on Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania, an on-screen graphic said Monday night — will permanently change the tone and the content of the show, which has followed the lives of the Gosselins’ eight children for the past two years.

The program may become the most intimate look at a couple’s divorce since “An American Family,” the ground-breaking PBS documentary about the Loud family in the 1970s. Bill and Pat Loud had allowed cameras to follow their family for seven months in 1971, and one September evening, Pat asked her husband to move out of the house, with cameras present.

Reality Experts: Keep The Cameras Rolling: Via USA Today.com

"They have the opportunity to explore a situation facing a lot of American families when the parents get divorced. And it sounds like Jon and Kate have come up with a unique situation where they're going to take turns being in the house with the kids," says Jonathan Murray, executive producer of The Real World and The Simple Life. "You can explore what happens when a couple breaks up and how both are working hard to keep things as normal as possible for the kids."

Mike Darnell, who oversees Fox's alternative programming, recommends "making lemonade out of lemons" by following the family's new course. The separation "is part of what really happened. You lean on it. You don't manipulate it."

  1. I'm confused. I thought there weren't going to be any new episodes until Aug 3? How come the episode listing you posted looks like all new shows? Where did you get that from?

  2. Wow. It's entertainment to watch a family go through divorce? When will these children just be left alone?

  3. 4. I could be wrong but I think that man in the camo shorts is one of Jon's brothers.

Also, where did you find all that info about the upcoming episode schedule? TLC's site? That makes me so excited to know that there will at least be one newish episode to see during the families ~hiatus~ or whatever.

  5. I thought Jon always wore two rings; his wedding ring and another band on his right "ring" finger...do you think he removed that one and replaced it w/his wedding band??

Other than that I love the pic of Kate coming home, and I'll be recording the upcoming episodes of J&K just like I always have w/every episode that has aired

  6. Jon must have a hard time keeping the weight off. Looks like weight problems run in the family.

  7. Jon was wearing a ring on his right hand while he was still wearing his wedding ring on left. I am not sure he switched hands but believed he just removed the wedding ring....

My prayers continue to stay with all the Gosselins. J & K are not alone. They are only among the many who has faced the opportunity to turn a tragic and painful experience into a life changing positive growth experience.

  8. I love that you've provided a number of articles citing why they should keep filming, INCLUDING showing what happens in an American Divorce. I still feel TERRIBLE of what is happening. Where did you get the listing for the episodes? I couldn't find it anywhere. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

  9. I have such mixed feelings on tonights show as well as the continuation of Jon & Kate Plus 8. As far as tonights episode goes, I feel it will be a sad reminder of how this family once was and no longer is! I am interested in seeing the new footage though.

As far as all the other episodes that are supose to air in the next month or so. I supose we can assume that Jon and Kate were living separate lives while all of these were filmed.

August 24th "The Divorce" episode is just heart breaking.

I am just so sad for this family and continue to pray for them.

  10. There has got to be a reason why jon fell in love with kate in the first place right? I just pray that they can find that together and maybe in my fantasy world reconcile. I too like others on this post feel that perhaps jon did run into the "wrong" crowd and perhaps has been influenced, because it just doesn't sound like his normal "reasonable" self to just off the marraige and not want to seek some sort of counceling, am I wrong? I hope the kids are ok during this, I know what it is like to experience divorce, and NO it is not always the best for the kids. Communication, faith, giving of yourself completely always, forgiveness, that is what is important.

  11. I don't think that I will be able to watch this episode. I'm sure that it will make plenty of people sad. Perhaps it wouldn't be so sad, if there weren't eight children involved.

  12. hello babymama! i was just wondering where you found out about all the new episodes?

  13. OK I really don't get any conversation about K's alleged breast work. As fans why are discussing anothers right to a personal choice?

On the lighter side, as a woman who has carted around G cups all her life and now is hanging way lower than I like; I would have had a lift long ago if I could have afforded it. Instead all my extra $ went to my kids (I raised 2 alone).

Maybe its an east coast west coast thing....
but augmentations are so common on the left side of the country, we don't even think about it.....

  14. fallingstar~ As I said on my post, there were several episodes already filmed that we all wondered if we would ever see. One of them was an episode dedicated to Mother's Day. I was really upset that they sliced it into the last 6 minutes of last weeks depressing divorce episode. But I see why they did it. They wanted to show that they were still going out and doing things as a family. I thought even though they were trying to lighten the mood at the end, it didn't help. It made it more depressing IMO.

What I think they will do with these, is add the new interviews on the couch, with them discussing what happened when these shows were filmed. Again, most were shot right before the divorce was announced, so it will be interesting to see how they were together right before the announcement.

  15. I just watched the episode filmed on the 4th of July weekend 2008 they re-aired today. They were still in love at that time, at least Kate was. Kate was very playful with Jon on the couch, and was hugging and nuzzling with him. So sad to see what we happened. They are both good actors, if at that time they were not still in love.

  16. i just watched the prep for hawaii and it was so sad when kate was like, we're staying together forever, no mater what....it breaks my heart, such a sweet family:(

i still rooting for a happy ending lol:)

  17. I am w/ BEE I am watching w/ mixed feelins but still mainly feelings of disappointment. It hasn't subsided with me and honestly I don't think it ever will. I don't really know what to say other than I wish they would call the divorce off and stay together. To know where they've been and to see where there at now is just depressing, sad and I think I will be watching now just because i'm curious and not like a fan who was inspired by them as I once was.

  18. I need to restate this...I worded it weird. I will be watching the new episodes because I'm curious about their lives but not as the fan I once was. Always love the kids though!

  19. Tonight's episdoe was really nice actually. It was nice to go back and remember why we loved this show in the first place. Seeing all the re-caps was really fun, and yet sad at the same time. Knowing first hand now how quickly your babies are now toddlers, I felt the the urge to re-watch some of my own recent baby footage.

  21. I can't find those episode listings anywhere. I checked TV Guide ad TLC. Just wondering where you got them. Maybe TLC changed their minds again. Ugh! I wanna see the Smithsonian stuff because I've been there before.

Where did you find "a number of articles" cited here? I was only able to locate the one - USA Today. The New York Times article doesn't really speak out to either side, regarding to continue filming or not. It just discusses what's taking place. Am I not looking in the right area?

IMHO, I think that the family would do better and recover quicker WITHOUT the cameras. Overall, their long-term mental and emotional health would come out of this with fewer scars if they are not also dealing with an audience analyzing their every moment. They need to be able to work through this transition in private, and then perhaps when they come out on the other side, let their fans see the end results.

  24. I thought it was interesting that they didn't show any of the vow renewal ceremony on the Hawaii clip last night. But why would they? I really liked the video of the six right after they were born in their isolettes. I'd never seen that before, and it was cool to see them so tiny and know that they've grown into healthy children.

  25. Carted around G cups! LOL! Thanks for the laugh Terri.

I am watching Monday night's clipshow now, and they just showed Cara's day. I believe that Kate had a bit of a lift. But, in this episode, they are rather abundant, so I am guessing they are indeed real, just a bit lifted.

  26. I loved that last night's episode was so positive, showed Kate showering her kids affection, praise, and love. It was very sweet to watch. She's a wonderful mom, doing the best she can to provide for her large family. No one can deny that.

  27. So, last nights episode was not as heart wrenching as I thought it would be. Of course it was sad to see how even a year ago it "seemed" like there was love between Jon and Kate and how quickly it all changed! But the ending of the show provided some "hope" that this family will be ok and that even though it is a difficult time, that the children are still having happy times!!

I also think it is interesting to know that when Kate was on vacation at the beach that not only were the tups there, but it also seemed that the twins were there as well....didn't all the tabloids report that just the tups were there? Not of importance, just interesting to me.

It is all becoming more clear to me that this family has been living separately for sometime now.

    Still praying for them.

  28. The twins were at Bald Head for the first few days and returned to Pennsylvania to finish out the school year.

  29. Baby Mama...what is the deal with the episodes? The TLC website doesn't have J and K on Monday the 6th or the 13th. Cake Boss is scheduled on the 6th @ 9 and The Little Couple on the 13th@ 9...and as you know the end of last night's episode said the new episodes would be aired the 3rd...just wondering, you are usually right about things, so I wanted to check with you...

  30. I just don't understand why no one, especially TLC, has brought up why the Gosselin's renewed their wedding vows if they were already having trouble. Thoughts?

I thought the same exact thing from that same part of the show! I was nervous to post about it, but since someone else saw it -- I am posting to show that I agree. Also, when she was getting her tummy fixed--she said how she wanted her breasts lifted, so I believe that is what she had done. Also, I noticed that her clothing wasn't as tight in the past, so perhaps that's why they were less noticeable.

I thought I was not going to be able to watch last night's show because I thought it would focus on how Jon and Kate were in the past 10 years, but it was more focused on the children. It was really nice to see the earlier footage of them, since I did not see all of it before. I love all of them, but for some reason Alexis holds a special place in my heart--she's just too darn cute with that alligator and all! Hope everyone is having a nice start to the week.

  32. Jessica~ Thank you so much for the comment. I was not able to update my post last night, but the line-up once again has changed. I decided to keep it up as "future episodes" as TLC did pull the plug on airing the new shows (new for us anyway) and wait until August 3rd to start airing. From what I have read, so far they are keeping "the divorce" episode scheduled as planned for the 29th. Things change quite often, so keep checking back. When I get the information I will post it.

  33. i absolutely love Jon and Kate plus 8 but i did not like how they just pulled a bunch of old episodes together to make a new one. i was really expecting something a little better. but i still love the gosselins!!!!
