The Gosselin's Buy At Boscov's, Jon Gosselin Finally Gets A Gig, But Is It The Right One?

Hello Gosselin fans! Yes once again, BabyMama is on FIYA (fire) with the rapid amount of posts in the last few days. For a family that is keeping low before school starts, how is it that there is so much to talk about? Yesterday we had someone in our comments section speak about how unhappy they were that this was a Gosselin site, yet we have no much negative to say about Jon. To be honest, I did already stress my sadness at seeing Jon spend the last year doing absolutely nothing. And I also was very upset at the way he went through girlfriends in the past year like articles of clothing. And just like those hate sites that attack Kate at every breath..this is the place recently where the other side came to vent.

Bottom line, Jon's name is at the top of this page because he is forever a part of this family whether married to Kate or not. And someday I hope to have a site just as devoted to the both of them as my OTHER site was for 2 years. I give somebody loyalty and respect until they show me a reason I shouldn't. And as far as Kate, I continue to give her that respect because I still think she is a wonderful mother to her kids, and I wish nothing but amazing thing for herself. Jon, well, as you see below, every day he gives me a reason to just lift my hands & say "I give up" just like Kate...

Kate Gosselin: Boscov's Back to School Family Shopping: GossipCenter.com Photo: Splash News
Getting ready for another school year, Kate Gosselin was back out with her brood of eight children to load up on supplies and clothes in Reading, Pennsylvania on Saturday (August 21). According to a paparazzo source on the scene, bodyguard Steve Neild drove the family van as the group pulled into the local Boscov's retail center for their bulk purchases. With a film crew from TLC was there to capture all of the action. Kate quickly popped over to the driver's side so the cameramen could start shooting scenes.

The back to school efforts follow a recent family trip to Bald Head Island, of which Kate blogged, "We not only returned [to Bald Head Island] this year, but also hope to return each year and have decided to make this our Gosselin summer tradition ... To match our many Gosselin winter traditions. To me, there is nothing like a well-made tradition to help us reflect on the years past as well as project forward to the years ahead!" She added, "Thanks Bald Head Island for providing the rest, relaxation and connection this family -- as well as so many other families we've had the privilege of meeting here -- needs year after year after year!"

  1. Jon is using blankets to hide his children from the paps. I personally don't believe it or I hope it isn't true. I don't know what to think.

  2. I think this is not even true! They have pictures of Ellen holding beach towels, not kids.

  3. Good morning all. Nice to wake to fresh paper Baby Mama. I try to avoid ROL but will need to go there (yep gotta verify for myself) to check out this towel on the head issue.

  4. fascinated - thank you for providing the link. Sunday is the only day I don't have to be up at 5:00 am. Realized, lol, I can't focus well enough to look at photos. Back to sleep for me. Have a great day all and I'll see you all later.

  5. OMG, Towels over their heads, how stupid is that? JMO! Will they have to be carried every place they go now? I wonder if that was Kates' requirements or Jons! HMMMM!

Jons job? What is his talent besides being the father of 8 kids? What is he going to do at this club? Just stand around and look pretty?

Kate has admitted she is just a mother of 8 kids. What is her talent?

Yep, ladies, so much exposure for that show! Good PR for TLC. Stirring up a new batch of stuff for all the blogers to go crazy about.

  6. Good Morning! Beautiful day here.

All I saw on ROL was Ellen carrying beach towels.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Baby Mama I think that all of us want to support Jon but his behavior the last year has been very erratic. Jon on his own has created quite a bit of the negative publicity that has come his way. I am a very open minded person but this club appearance does nothing to improve his image as a wholesome father figure that he is trying to project. The K-haters beyotch for days about Kate's clothes and shoes and how it will effect the children. But I bet there will be no discussion on this gig and what type of message he trying to project to his children that partying is acceptable when he has admitted that alcholism runs in his family? It just keeps me scratching my head and saying what's next.

  8. Caregiver - Kate started as just a mom and a nurse. She has grown into someone who is getting better and better at interviewing and conversing on camera. She can't dance but she gave it a big try going back and forth from coast to coast and while dealing with court papers lawsuits, etc. She will always perhaps have the stress of wondering "what shoe will drop next with Jon?" She came from a background of not having a lot. She made mistakes and has apologized for them. She doesn't blame Jon. She has learned that she controls her response to others. She wants her children to have more experiences in life than she had.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Corrina - I don't see anything but Ellen carrying towels either at ROL or INF. I've heard there were other shots at INF but have been removed. To that, I have to respond that it sounds like rumor. Until I see a series of photos showing something different, I feel it was just rumor.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I agree Dolly. I think that's what bugs me the most about the Kate vs Jon debate. If she wears a pair of shoes they don't like or only smiles when the camera is on (like E! reported) they talk about it for DAYS. Whatever Jon does is just a blip on their radar or it's somehow Kate's fault. I think it's really irresponsible coming from a family of alchoholics for him to promote a bar. I just hope he's getting paid good money for it for the kids sake.

OT I just got a DM on twitter from E!Online. Did anyone else? Weird because I thought they couldn't do that unless they were following you.

Going to go look at the link....

    And hi Corrina!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Linda, I posted about what is J&K talent? They are famous for being parents of 8 kids. Period!
What is your point, in that response?

This is another topic that has been around for awhile, so if you want to skip it, I won't be offended.

ROL, You girls are right, all I see is Ellen holding towels. What's up with that? This is getting too nuts, so I might quit sooner then later! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Caregiver / my point was that Kate has demonstrated a growing talent for interviewing others while exploring new things. And it is network tv just paying her for being there.

    ReplyDelete
  13. While I would give a clubbing job a "no go" if I had a history of familial alcoholism Jon, from Vegas gig to Casino gig to this DC gig, would apparently like this. He seemed to enjoy the Sundance festival. I'm too old for clubbing and it doesn't fit my interests or lifestyle. Neither does tattoos and bikes for that matter. If this is where Jon's interests are, then he should persue it. Doesn't fit much of a branding idea for a book on Fatherhood responsibilities with Lafair. But, it is his life. It is a job, perhaps even a way to get a jab at Kate and/or TLC. It is a gainful employment and I give him that. I won't be travelling to DC to see him or get an autograph but I'm sure others will.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Forgot to say, Hi Dolly and welcome back!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Gainful employment is right. Atleast it is that. I guess it just bugs me because if it was Kate they be all over her about it. I just wish it was something else he was doing..but I will admit there are worse things he could be doing for a job. Same way I felt about Kate doing DWTS. Although I was excited to see her do it I didn't think it was the best fit for her...but atleast she was doing something. :)

    ReplyDelete
  16. Thank you LindaO for the fresh sheet of paper. I forgot to say that in my initial post.

I agree with Denise, Corrina, and Dolly, I don't believe it and there are no pictures to support it.

I am interested #1CG why you assume that this is Kate's dictation as opposed to Jon's.

CM3- I agree that at least Jon is doing something and I am always curious about why the Khaters don't feel the same way when Kate gets an appearance type job too.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't look at Jons' weekend gig as gainful employment. It's more like a one night stand, but yes it does keep his name in the press and could lead to other gigs. Also, more PR for the show. I still don't think either of them have much talent. I will say this though, Kate has the kids and that is what draws the ratings. TLC knows this too!

It's all about the kids, and how much TLC will pay and do to keep them on TV.

    ReplyDelete
  18. facinated just saw your post. Just thinking that she could have put pressure on Jon to have him prevent CTP from taking pics. Just think of it as more speculation that people post.

    ReplyDelete
  19. fascinated - thank you but this is Baby Mama's fresh paper. I don't do any posts until she's on vacation. She's been just busy with life and getting ready for her trip.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Caregiver - your post has me a bit concerned. It certainly isn't your usual tone or way you state things. You are entitled to your opinions of course. I've known you weren't a Kate fan; your choice of course. In the past, you've been pretty supportive of Jon, so I'm puzzled. Again, you are entitled to your opinion, whatever it may be. Of course TLC is in the business of making money; they are not a non-profit. TLC, however has stood by the Gs in initially providing security assessments, hiring the first bodyguard, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Linda O will you be putting up an opinion poll (LOL) and can you explain Baby Mama's twitter page. I don't do twitter but I occassionally read the box on the ride side bar. When names come up are those people posting on her page or is she posting on theirs? I am so out of the loop.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh Sorry Linda O, just read your post about BM not on vacation yet. Then I will direct my twitter question to her. : )

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thanks Linda--about the INF rumor.

    Hi CMO3!!:)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Well, I was wrong and I admit it. There are pictures of the kids under a blanket or towel.
Hope it means Jon is disgusted with the paps.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Denise - nobody's perfect. Would you cite your source please? I didn't find any on my first search this morning.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hi all. I hesitated to comment on the Jon appreciation issue since I am clear that I just don't like him. I am not sure what happened to him. He was always a bit spacey but his anger and resentment appear to be in charge now.

Kate has held her head high and "reinvented" herself. She is not a trained artist/entertainer but she has proven herself to be a woman who can be admired.

I sincerely wish Jon would examine his choices and understand that if he presented himself in a professional manner, he too could be successful. Maybe he could be a Jenny Craig spokesperson. And I mean that.

If Sarah Fergueson (sp?) can keep picking herself up, why can't Jon? There are so many examples of people who mess up and then go on to goodness (if not greatness).

I'll just shut up now. It's almost ancient history now.

I hope the Gosselin kids have a good school year. I hope Kate gets all the help she will need to focus 8 kids on education. That's where they need to put their attention...(IMO)

  28. ZiggyFlo, thanks for those photos of Kate thru the years. She was quite a natural beauty.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Strange Denise - They are credited as INFphotos but can't find any where on the INF site.

I'm going to let it stand and be Baby Mama's call. It would appear the beach towels were put over the heads of the little kids but not the twins. I don't know what to make of the photos. If the towels were over the heads of ALL the kids it would make sense that Jon is screening them from the paps (and I hope he is.)

I asked somebody else here what they thought (visiting from out of the country and no idea who the Gosselins are). His response, "Oh how cute, they're playing cover up like my kids when they were little."

I can't figure it out, so somebody else weigh in.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Linda it looks like Jon is playing peek-a-boo with the kids. He is laughing in the photo; even Cara looks amused. I believe it was just a game, nothing more.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Denise, thanks for the link.

I want to think they were just having fun--but that's my best guess.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think they are all making a statement...telling CTP to buzz off:)

Perhaps, Mady & Cara did not participate because lets face it, it's not really cool at that age to look like your playing peekaboo. I'm sure they were given a choice, & actually looked rather amused by the whole thing(in the IW pic anyway)

    ReplyDelete
  33. It looks like they were playing. Jon is grinning, one of the girls seems to be laughing and even the twins look amused.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'd vote for just playing. Maybe Baby Mama will add a poll.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree they are playing & having fun...but I also think its serving a purpose. If the paps can't get good shots, there is less interest in photographing them. Or at the very least the pictures eventually become worth less money. Less money=fewer pictures it's a win win IMO. I think it is a buzz off message, in a fun way. Not like in that past were Collin was clearly distressed by the pictures being taken.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Maybe the kids were just playing. They know about the "P's". Or just being kids.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Regardless of it all being in fun or not (now very doubtful), the fact of the matter stands, Jon still has his paps taking pics. The apt. complex can be considered techinically private property. If Jon didn't want the kids picutre taken by the paps, he could call the property manager, who could demand the pap leave or call the police and have the pap removed.

There is no need to continue to have the pap there.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I posted before I finished -
no need to continue to have pap(s)there unless by choice.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Do not forget Kate will be appearing on the Emmy's. If she does well on that, a comdey skit, which people love a good comedy skit, it will boost her credibility in the entertainment field.
Kate wouldn't be pleased by the towel stunt. Jon may be trying to screw with Kate's head before the Emmy's to mess her up. Although the Emmy's are a week away, there are rehersals before the actual day.

  40. Fascinated - If Baby Mama doesn't answer you by tomorrow, I'll take a stab at explaining Twitter. I'm not a Twitter guru at all. I frequently forget to check it for a week at a time, lol. I have Facebook only for corporate clients and they generate so many questions, upkeep, etc. that I frequently wish they'd never been invented, lol. I don't dare play the Farm game or I'm afraid I'd get so sucked into it that nothing would get done. That's just me. I know Baby Mama has had a ton of stuff to do so just trying to lighten for a bit the load she carried by herself for a long time. It's her "baby" so not a load but best example I could think of.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Fascinated if you see names it's some one she has replied to on twitter....like if she replies to me it says @craftymomof3.

If you want to see all the conversations back and forth you have to create a search in her name.

    Hope that helps!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Hello hello everyone! Did you miss me?? no? well ok ;)

I cannot believe Jon would put the kids under a blanket not only to smack into each other, but to trip and fall and hurt themselves as well. So freakin smart. I would say something but I do not want this site to Jon hostile! lol

I hope that you all got to read my last comment on the other blog. I really appreciate the fact that you can all debate and still respect each other. It means the world to me because not all of us here are 100% Kate fans, but we all agree to be supportive of the Gosselin children!

Fascinated~ Just wanted to give not only you but everyone else the heads up on my Tweets. My Twitter page is my personal thoughts and my own private page. It is not just Gosselin realted. In fact lately I do chat more with people regarding The Real Housewives. You can get to the site by clicking here on my blog, but it is in no way G rated. And it may not always be what you care about. Personal thoughts that you are able to see and sometimes people comment back, or I re-tweet something that I am interested in. I hope that helps, but for a more detailed response you can e-mail me..xoxox

I'm also getting several comments abvout Kates outfit in the above photo. Some may like it some not, but she can rock it. I think it's the heels that make it a bit more over the top. But those more conservative haters need to shut up and stop wanting Kate to dress like a granny for your own selfish motives..lol

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks hon I can't explain Twitter very well. How do you explain your thoughts on paper? lol

    ReplyDelete
  44. Baby Mama - I missed you! I know you've got busy days. Lol, I tried really hard not to run up the comments today. I didn't want you to come in again from a late night and have to do another 2:15 am new post. :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ditto on my tweets...they are usually what ever random thing happened to me that day or what's bugging me or occasionly shameless self promotion LOL.

I like twitter. Most of the time its fun.

I still can't get the towel pic to load on my phone so I'll reserve judgement until I get on my PC.

One more day until school and then it will back to school for me and the kids. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I stink at putting my thoughts on paper LOL. That's why I blog. It has spell check! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. CMo3 - Spell check, unless you use a "smart" phone that I now call the "dumb" phone. It has the most bizarre changes. It doesn't like "love" and changes it to "live". "Of" becomes "if"; "was" becomes "wad"; "too" and "two" both become "to." It drives me nuts, even more than I already am. Scroll bars have disappeared too. Need a software fix. I can turn off spell check, but it quirks and turns back on if phone shut down. You can't hit return or it garbled text. Oh well, whine, whine.

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL the new Droid update has been causing that and I don't have a scroll bar in gmail now. Crazy. But I can comment again better in blogger...I guess good comes with bad as always LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are you referring to my comment? If yes, why did you have to do so? This was brought to my attention by 3 people who knew I posted the question here yesterday and who read your post today. It has me questioning if everytime I write something is it going to appear in your post? Can I not post a question or my opinion? You could have easily discussed Jon without saying I was unhappy (which I never said and is untrue). I read all of the posts yesterday and was so excited to join this board, but right now I am really embarrassed and hurt.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Jamie - sorry but I'm clueless about what you are talking about. I haven't heard any references to you or your posts today. I thought we got the other cleared up yesterday. If you'll exlain, I'll try to track it down.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Linda, I thought so too. In the blog posted today it says, "Yesterday we had someone in our comments section speak about how unhappy they were that this was a Gosselin site, yet we have no much negative to say about Jon."

    ReplyDelete
  52. Jamie - uh, no, I don't think it was directed at you in particular at all. Every few days we have somebody post who wants basically to know why it isn't all Kate or all Jon or all kids. We try to explain the position. So from time to time Baby Mama tries to explain that many of us were VERY pro Jon two years ago but we have a harder time looking for the good in his actions. We have a couple (not you) of demented nameless people who think they can succeed in making us hate the world, because they do! We refer to them now as "the people who shall be nameless."

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jamie - This is Baby Mama's blog and she can say whatever she wants to. You need to show some respect.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Jamie - some were deleted because they attacked other posters. You can post here, or if not comfortable, there are other sites that are all proJon. I don't know what to tell you beyond that. Personally, I'd love to be super proJon again; I've come to decide that respect has to be earned again but that's JMO.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can back up Linda on that one. Many come here and start out with the guise of being civil and end up getting deleted. It makes the rest of us regular posters a little hesitant or on guard when new people come on and start questioning stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Please calm down, Jamie. This group does not snipe on each other, from what I've seen. please re-group and come back tomorrow. I for one would love to have another pro-Jon poster on board.

    Good night everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Jamie - Baby Mama is very tolerant of differences of opinion, as people don't attack other posters for their opinions. Some people in the past have resorted to calling us names and personal attacks, so we are cautious. Then, if they aren't happy, we don't call them names. It's separating the person from their position. Some people have made horrendous comments about the kids on other sites then come here to pretend to be pro Kids. They are unwelcome under all circumstances.

    ReplyDelete
  58. CraftyMomof3: I agree. But the fact that yesterday was said is what makes me believe it was me. I read every single comment and saw none that came even close to what I said yesterday....But, I will believe Linda that one came in and said something similar and it was deleted before I could read it. Anything is possible in the world of the internet!

Lori Anne: I don't need to regroup. Thanks, but I am all good. Just asked a question. I could have attacked and yelled and cursed like some people, but that is not my nature.

Linda: I don't name call, attack people or curse. I think it is disgusting and trashy. I have been attacked and have never attacked back. It is just so classless and pointless. Why spend your time so angry....Thanks again for all of your help in explaining things to me. As I explained, trying to figure things out. I was going to post yesterday cause there was such great conversation but I was at my inlaws for the last two days and couldn't break away. There is a really good group here.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Jamie, I'm glad you're good. By "re-group" I meant take a breather, I didn't mean to offend. I reeeeally have to go to bed now, gang. It's been a long shopping, cooking, cleaning weekend. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Jamie~ There was a reason to my post. It was not an attack on you in any way and if you feel that way then I'm sorry. But I can't take the drama so if this will become another "situation", I stress you to not take it personally, and again perhaps this site is not for you. And I'm letting it go at that.

CraftyMom~ Don't ever question your gut. It doesn't take long for them to show their stripes. This is the site they all crave so it does happen frequently enough to keep your guard up. The good ones will always outlast the bad..ALWAYS! haha (evil laugh)

Linda thank you so much for being my "fly swatter". These vile people think that just because this is a public blog they can slither back on here even though we told them not to. Take the hate elsewhere. FYI just because other sites let you get on, doesn't mean that's gonna "fly" here. No one tells me how to run my site. lol

    ReplyDelete
  61. Jamie your right, this is a good group and I think it is your right to question things. Baby Mama would've deleted you if she felt that way. We like a good debate around here so stick around and join the fun. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Baby Mama I trusted it when I found your site out of all the others....so ya..your right. ;) my gut must be right.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Thanks CraftyMomof3! I appreciate that. I was raised if you have a question or are upset about something to ask or bring it up and to not hold it in until it becomes angry energy. I like a good debate too!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Jamie, sometimes BM or Linda just have to see the posters name, & they get the big delete. They've been repeatedly asked not to post here, but still try almost daily...Hee Hee what a big waste of time for them! How that can be fun, I have no idea. They just can't seem to get enough of this fab site & insist on trying. :)

    It's just that good!

    ReplyDelete
  65. But a warning momsby - it will be pretty plain Jane vanilla posts by me while Baby Mama is on vacation. I can't figure out the photo input on this layout along with other stuff. It may be completely text and Gosselin recipes. Maybe I can just "bore to them to death," lol. I'm only the babysitter and figure it isn't my place to razzle dazzle. I started reading when it was pretty much all Baby Mama's opinions in mostly text form. I stuck around.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well looking at the pictures, I think that the kids complained about the Paps and Jon helped them hide with a blanket. It looked like they were all having fun.

Thanks everyone for explaining the twitter thing. sometimes they are quite funny.

Lori Anne - about kate being beautiful, are you coming over to the kate side. LOL, it was a pun on the dark side.

I agree with CMof3 - we get protective of Baby mama's site and are hesitant with new people, because there are a few 'sheep in wolf's' clothing bloggers that leave a bad taste in our mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jon tweeted that the kids made indoor forts. Maybe the blankets were just a precursor of a game they were playing.

    ReplyDelete
  68. LOL, fascinated! I had only seen one photo of Kate as a young girl and it was quite unflattering - big eyeglasses & bad hair. I never knew she was so pretty. Hey, when I'm wrong I'll admit it!

    ReplyDelete
  69. hahah Lori Anne, I didn't see the picture, but I thought your comment sounded sarcastic. : )

    ReplyDelete
  70. Ohh Lori Anne & fascinated~ Kate did look like a gawky teen, but all of us and I mean ALL of us have one unflattering younger photo. But here is where you can see it, scroll down since all the celebrites are on this.. too funny!

    http://izismile.com/2009/09/21/celebrities_who_changed_a_lot_since_high_school_10_pics.html

And thanks again Linda for getting rid of those nasty FLIES xoxox

    ReplyDelete
  71. Baby Mama - gosh I wanted to sleep but now thunder has the dog awake and no way can I go to sleep and leave him upset. I liked that photo of Kate in the glasses; I think she felt better after she got her contacts. I really didn't like my glasses and they were those big frames like hers. Like most people who are nearsighted, you squint to see more clearly when without your glasses or contacts. I think some of the pix of her show her doing just that, squinting.

    ReplyDelete
  72. On the record - part 2. I have never published on a blog the address of anyone, the name of any child's school, etc. I have seen floorplans of homes published and I was disgusted. I've seen the Gs expenditures for private school questioned; to which I reply again, that is their choice. On many of the online "scandal" sheets erroneous $$ amounts printed. Some of that discussion crept on this blog. Amounts listed that I knew (common sense and as a parent paying tuition) just could not be true. I called listed my name, phone number, the name of my children's school and their headmaster; I said I'm sick and tired of wrong speculation. I got a call back and a $ amount. I used it to dispute the wrong junk. Immediately a core group labelled me as a stalker. Go figure.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Part 3 - I did not publish the Gs mortgage info but a number of the "scandal" mags did, complete with amount of loan and who held it. Again, a core group said no, TLC bought it for them and they were evil for doing it. If TLC had bought it, then good for the Gs but that didn't match the info. Go figure?

Part 4 - When the BHI article by Hall was first published, I sent an email (not a comment) to editors there stating I was concerned because both the tone of the article seemed very contrary to everything I knew about the place; I even referred them to a previous Wilmington newspaper article from last year and the same paper's article this year. The Wilmington paper quoted actual names of people they interviewed. That's what IMO news does. What they wrote did not match Hall's article. I felt people were entitled to see both points of view.

  75. Stalker is a relative term. I threw the word around about the Katy Hall thing because she observed the family with out their consent and then blogged about it in a national syndicate. I see what you did as fact finding, which I'm pretty sure even that core group would claim the same if they did it. I've read some stuff in the past few months (I've found stuff via Google alerts of variations of my name and screen name) that has given me pity for these women and clarity of why they behave that way.

The names these women call other women publically that don't agree with them is horrendous. It saddens me because I have come to realize that some of them I used to support not knowing what their alternative life was on the internet. I just hope that I never become that in my life..where I think snarling and snarking is a sport. So go ahead and copy and paste this. I walk in the light. I believe in karma and if anyone else does they will know what that phrase means.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Linda - I also see what you did as fact finding. Hope you continue to do this as it is ridiculous the lies people continue to spew toward Kate. What I find pathetic is people believing anything negative about Kate without one speck of proof.

CMO3 - I too believe in karma. Just hope when it hits them they realize it was because of how they were determined to bring down a mother they had never met.

  79. Linda,
I actually really like your posts. You're obviously a Kate fan, but you still back things up with reputable sources which give your thoughts a lot of credence in my mind. Even though I am a Kate fan myself, sometimes I am ready to look at something she has done and think she was way off, but then you give examples from your life about how you would have handled something, like the spoon for reaching in your car, and it helps me give her the benefit of the doubt and look at things again. So thanks, I appreciate the perspective and insight.

  81. Linda, that is soo sweet about you staying up so the dog won't be alone upset. Reminds me of the last few weeks when the guys were working on teh roof and outside and how we stayed home with the dog the days they were here because he got soo upset and stressed out. Luckily now all is finished and it is soo nice to sit on our new porch. I also appreciate the way you take time to research things. It has changed the way I look at what I see on tv and internet.

  82. I do not like posting here because I have seen some posters bullied, and I don't think that belongs on a blog that is supposed to be about the G-family,which includes Jon.I see nothing wrong with Jon being at any nightclubs, kate has gone to them, also, and nothing is said when she goes,or has gone.I think that the way she dresses in most of the Chris-pap-pics,is more suited to nightclub wear, than to go school shopping with her kids.I know that even posters here agree. This is my opinion.I think you need to be more respectful to Jon,or change the mandate of this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  83. annastasia - you are entitled to your opinion and perspective and would suggest that you post on whatever blog where you feel the most comfortable.

It's a bit like a remote control for watching your choice of tv programs; when you watch, IMO you are making a choice. How you spend your time on the net is your choice.

Your opinion has been noted. I do know that you have been deleted in the past along with a friendly reminder from Baby Mama. She makes the decisions on the mandate of this blog. Or you could always start your own blog where you control everything about it.

  84. Linda - What instigated your 4 part speech? I must have missed something, someplace! So much is in the media that its hard to keep up sometimes.

As far as me and my tone goes, I guess I just get tired of hearing and seeing the dance that J&K do for the PR before a big event. Like her show and Emmy appearence, etc. Jons gig. It's like they are in some type of competition. I know the posters here are not going to like what I am saying but I hope they try to be understanding, a little anyways.
Jon is probably jealous and/or angry that Kate is working. I feel he should be thankful because he gave his permission to film the kids so he could get a paycheck. I don't think it was the right thing to do, but that's just MO.

All this trouble right before the kids start school. I can imagine it has caused more stress then they need at this time.

Last but not least, does TLC have to be filming every trip to the store. It seems like they know it will be awhile until they get more footage. The picture of Kate at the top right in the shoe store, she is talking on her phone in the store while being filmed. Not a good example to set for your kids.

I just wanted to touch base with you and share my thoughts. Also, yes I am still an Advocate for Fathers Rights. Just not necessarily this one. He needs to settle in a little more, but I am sure he's working on it.

About cell phones, I think the twins do not need phones. Too young. Also they are never left alone so no need to have one. They have J&K or the nannies at all time to get help. At home they can use a land line or parents phone. JMHO!

Doesn't mean they'll read it or paste it, but I grow weary of things being taken out of context or to mean something entirely different from what they meant during a conversation back and forth.

Kate has a new post up today. Go take a look. It's about the twins which is so nice to see a photo of just them! Got a new poll up..Would love to hear your thoughts since the only thing people want to talk about lately is whether a mom is allowed to dress like Kate..Seriously if I looked that good I would be decked out in Zebra too! haha ok maybe not zebra, but....

    ReplyDelete
  89. Kara and Mady are beautiful. Kate's blog kind of explains why they all seem to like performing for the public and their internal comfort with filming and such. Kate has said her piece about the kids coming back to her from Jon. I knew she would respond and I was wondering where, she picked a pretty classy way I think if she needed to respond about the kids wanting to be with Jon more than her. They like many kids of divorce have to deal with torn loyalties, I love being with my Mommy/Daddy, but I miss the other parent and I am afraid that my relationship with the other parent will hurt this parent.
I notice in their shows that some of the kids really take pride in making their show, immediately coming to mind Hannah and the older girls. Maybe at some point they could pursue some commercial or acting opportunities. Maybe the whole family can act in a movie together. I think some people feel better about kids that act in shows than they do about kids in reality shows because of the illusion that the camera is always there.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks for the poll, Baby Mama. Wow, people are posting fast.

I saw a celebrity photo today where a mother, wearing the same outfit as the one with the gladiator shoes, and the fashion person was commenting on trendy outfit.

Then I saw the another online mag, bashing Kate for the same outfit.

Is it because it's Kate? Wouldn't it be great if somebody did a survey where they tested the "like" or "dislike" where you couldn't see the face until after you voted on an outfit? I'd like to know how much that influences.

I don't like gladiator shoes. I didn't like them 20 years ago and I haven't liked them one bit better in the "revisit." I don't like flip-flops either for that matter unless I'm at the pool, the beach, or Hawaii where they are worn a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  91. What is appropriate Mom wear? Funny - I have an older acquaintance and I asked her what she thought was appropriate wear for a Mom. Her response: "I remember when Mamie Eisenhour got bashed all the time for wearing mostly pink and it was her best color."

Then she said, "Does this Mom have to be still living, if so I'll change my vote? Is Betty White a Mom? I like the way she dresses. You know just because you are a Mom doesn't mean you have to dress like an old lady that is baggy."

She also told me that she could probably still fit in her daughter's clothes but she doesn't like them. "Too short?" I asked. "No, she wears a lot of black and white and I like something with a little sparkle and color."

I still have tears of laughter pouring down my cheeks. Lighten up folks. Should what Kate Gosselin wears at Target or Boscov's really make a difference in life?

Or maybe instead of the "Red Carpet Critique" we could have the "Target Stroll Critique."

    ReplyDelete
  92. I voted that she could use some tweaks from a stylist. I think Kate's trying to find herself right now but doesn't know where to turn for advice.

Linda said "Is it because it's Kate?" Yes Linda, I think that has a lot to do with it. That other celeb you mentioned most likely didn't get famous for being "America's favorite Mom" and a Christial author to boot. I do believe the public will judge her more harshly for these reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Ooops, make that "Christian" author.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Hey Baby Mama,
Now you know I never bash Kate, right? But those Gladiator shoes are ugly. I do like some of her other shoes. The tank tops that show way too much cleavage should not be worn around the kids or shopping. Think about it! If she does it then Mady and Cara will be influenced by her actions.

It's like when parents are drinkers and smokers! Their kids might have that tendencey also. I am referring to all parents.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I can hardly keep up with all the breaking snark today about Kate. So, is she a Mom who needs to dress in much older clothes (I think they meant older styles and not "older" as in second hand), that she's really a cougar so watch out young guys, that she should drop the young look and think of her nursing days ( so she should wear hospital scrubs?), she dresses out of Mady's closet ) she hasn't lost that much weight yet), she's getting them all as freebies and is forced to wear them, or she really has a stylist but this was the best TLC could do? Oh, I voted for stylist too.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I think what Kate wears is just fine and fits right in with what Moms around here.(In a small town in IN) I work at a daycare and see Mom's come in all the time wearing new trendy clothe for work. I personally wear alot of what Kate wears, and yes even heels to the grocery store. If I see someone in a T-shirt its just makes them look old and frumpy. Moms want to feel good about themselves. Its the one small thing we get to do for ourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  97. KatherineDenise - I'm so glad to hear you say that. We're in different regions of the country and I see the same thing (well except for the gladiator shoes). I see sone of them at church so don't think it means she isn't Christian. It's so nice to see photos of her before the birth of the little kids. For most of us, we started seeing her only when she in the context of the birth and early years of the little kids. We forget that right after birth she was in the "survival" mode where you're lucky to get a shower much less have on makeup or worry about rolling into more than sweat suits.

  98. Since it's the topic of conversation...

I don't think it's the fact that "it's Kate" so much as the appropriateness of the outfit. If Kate was wearing some of what she wore out for drinks or dinner that would be one thing. But shopping at Target or Stride Rite with your kids? It's just over the top. Unless of course she's on her way somewhere dressier and just stopped there along the way. I did that in Manhattan all the time.

Kate is not a "working mom" that goes to an office or works in a trendy company and then goes shopping on her way home from work. She's just a "mom." She's putting on those outfits with those shoes to specifically run errands. It's just overkill. IMO.

Funny thing is I'm meeting my ex-boss in Manhattan tomorrow with my girls for lunch and doing some shopping. The weather is going to be 70 and rainy so I actually had to change my planned outfit from a sundress I planned to wear with sandals to something else. I wasn't prepared.

I tried on a few skirts and dresses and shoes. I have some really sexy shoes that could also be used during day time if I'm going somewhere nice. Not "stilettos" per se but they do have a thicker four inch heel with a platform. Every time I put on any of them it made the casual dresses and short (not micro mini) skirts I had look too dressed up or too "slutty."

I had a simple denim short skirt and simple black v-neck/wrap top and with the shoes I wanted to wear I looked too dressed up and sexy. I tried on a simple black Ann Taylor dress that with flats or a low strappy wedge looks nice but casual. I tried on the higher shoe again (I can wear them in the rain too because they aren't too strappy/summery) and again it looked too dressy. If I was going to dinner with my husband afterwards I would have worn them.

I really tried to justify showing up to meet my boss in that outfit with my two girls and shopping bags in tow and I just couldn't do it. I would have felt ridiculous. I even thought of Kate and wondered how she looked in the mirror walking out the door and thinks it's not overkill for the occasion.

I still don't know what to wear. Maybe I will make my hubby take us out for dinner in the city tomorrow afterwards and just go for the hott look. ;)

  101. I can't vote. I don't fit in any of the categories because I think a lot of Kate's outfits are really cute. But, I just think it looks funny to wear them picking out shoes, haircuts or going to Target.

But then what do I know, I was at Target the other day and nearly fell over when I saw a woman walking in front of me. She had Hubby and three kids with her and was wearing black short shorts and very high wedge heals! I am in Target quite a bit and never noticed that type of outfit before so maybe the trend is catching on around here!

Meanwhile there I was in my jeans, flip flops (sorry LindaO :)) and a t-shirt (sorry KatherineDenise :)). I'm 5'0', 106 pounds so I don't think I looked frumpy but you never know!;)

    ReplyDelete
  102. Also, I think if it was the sexy top and shorts or a short skirt and not as sexy top with a lower heel there wouldn't be as much discussion about it. I really do think the whole combination with the high sexy shoes is just too much. It's not "Hollywood," it's more like Housewives of PA or something along those lines. I think Kate could use a stylist and I'm not sure why TLC hasn't insisted on one at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I wear t-shirts but not "t-shirts" like a standard one. I get mine at the Gap or Old Navy and they are fitted with lycra, sometimes with a v-neck or sometimes with a regular one. I think it's the big ole cotton ones that make people look frumpy. Kate wears some nice t-shirts.

    ReplyDelete
  104. angelsmama,
    We're the same size! lol.
I can picture the kind of outfit you mean. It's not "frumpy." At least not if I'm picturing what you mean.

  105. I voted for a few tweaks! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  106. Yes Schmecky and angelsmama I am talking about the big cotton ones. Trust me I see it sometimes and it makes me cringe. I do have some really cute 't-shirts' from American Eagle or Aero. As long as they are fitted and cute. At tim of the year for the most part I wear sundresses and cute tops.

Schmecky, I think the denim skirt, cute top and heels sounds great!! You want to look nice for your boss but still casual, its perfect. I would do white shorts and a cute 3/4 sleeve black top and black heels.

  107. I seldom comment on blogs but this conversation about Kate's attire has caught my attention. Mostly because my mom had 5 children in six years. She was a stay at home mom and I can count on 1 hand how many times we had a baby-sitter. As you can imagine she was in survival mode most of the time and she dressed like it. However when we started to get older she started to dress trendier and more stylish. She no longer needed to take care of us 100% of the time and she could focus on herself for once.

My youngest siblings are in college now and she is in her mid 40's and she is a very fashionable dresser, actually she is more fashionable than I am and I am in my mid 20's.

I have always been a Kate fan and although some of her recent outfits have been a bit more revealing than others, I think that she should be able to find her niche and dress as she pleases - she is an adult and she is single. I agree that she keep in mind how she is influencing her children, but for the most part her clothes are very tasteful and cute. And it is summer for heaven's sake - a hot one at that.

Just my thoughts but perhaps she is just trying to show off her cleavage to prove it is the real deal since so many people have questioned that in the past. :)

    ReplyDelete
  108. That's a good point MBA maybe she is trying to prove that point.

Sorry guys but I'm a wear what is clean kinda gal. I'm either with my kids or working with kids so t-shirts are less likely to get ruined. I do notice though when people see me in a fitted shirt they ask me if I lost weight.

I wouldn't wear the stuff that Kate does but if I had a bod like hers I would!

    KatherineDenise,
So you're saying I should go with the slutty look? Lol. Actually it doesn't look slutty... Just too sexy. Not that it would surprise him. I was 21 when I worked for him and my outfits are still topic of conversation when I talk to him. ;). I will try it on for hubby and get his opinion. He likes sexy too but will be honest if it's just too much for the occasion. Thanks though for your opinion! I appreciate it!

  114. I think so much about dressing is regional, and situational. In Manhattan in the dark ages when I worked there, wearing peep toed shoes. Last tine I was there, I saw them everywhere, the higher the heels the better (I'm 5'2) In FL the dress was casual elegant but no flip flops, I got photos yesterday and it looked like half were in flip flops so what do I know. When I last lived in NC it wad more sensible chic (the heck with NY style) and moving back it wad like what happened to the people and why are they dressing like this? I don't know, maybe competition with SAHM & WM but I hope not. I have wear perhaps age and situational appropriate ballet flats and it's killing me. Cleaning yesterday hubby asked if he should throw out the high heels and I thought it was coronary time; I'm not ready!! If I were CMo3 I'd be wearing her outfit. Of in Manhattan totally different. If I were Kate, I might say the criticism is there no matter what, so I'll dress however it makes me feel good and the "h" with everybody else.

Long before I joined this blog it was a coooold winter/spring and Kate was already wearing the baby-doll tops with her open coat flapping in the breeze and peep-toed shoes. For that reason I'm still sticking to my opinion that she is in desperate need of a stylist. We all can be excused for being a little too revealing in 90 degree+ weather, but 32 degree weather... uhhm? I actually can't wait to see what she wears this fall & winter. I am willing to give her the benfit of the doubt.

  117. After watching 10mins of the Miss Universe pageant, I've decided forget the back surgery, I want a total body transplant, to be 5'8", blond, and a brain surgeon who is 23; or if not, I'd settle for just the height. I can't imagine the stress of being Kate G and having every moment analyzed and compared.

  119. Well, since Kate is still the topic tonight, I wonder what she is wearing tonight with Steve in New York. They left in a limo, and celebrity gossip.net has pics up.

Maybe a pre-emmy party or something like that?

  120. I think it would be great if Kate was on What not to wear. I am hoping someone from TLC is reading this and decides to put her on the show. LOL

I think as women it is natural for us to check out what each other is wearing. I do not like when women attack each other about clothing choices. I think people should wear what ever they want. In saying that, I also think we should help each other out in chosing what looks best. Some people have no style and others, well it just comes naturally. I always go into this store I love and ask the sales lady to dress me. She has a great sense of fashion and I have NONE. I come out of there feeling like a million bucks. I wish I could pull her out of my drawer in the morning and she could just coordinate my attire and away I would go.
