Katy Hall At The Huffington Post Crossed The Line At Bald Head Island, BabyMama Blows A Stack

I received a few e-mails asking my thoughts on the Huffington Post article written by Katy Hall. Well I first thought that this woman's parents obviously let her know Kate Gosselin was on the Island. Just a hunch. For her to say that it was a total coincidence that she arrived a day later and her house is right across from the Gosselins to me smelled like pure freakin BS. What she writes in the article completely pissed me off. We know how that The Huffington Post has written some of the most hurtful comments about Kate Gosselin out there. I seriously do not put it past this woman or her magazine to orchestrate this supposed "expose" by using the ruse that she "just so happened" to be in the house next door and saw all these EXCLUSIVE things that no one else can see just for the sake of her job. How was Katy Hall supposed to be relaxing when all she did was stalk the Gosselins for a week?

What pissed me off was the snark, nasty things she said about the family and especially Kate. Making comments about her c-section scars is disgusting. Saying that her joy in taking pictures just to watch Kate "touch legs" with Steve was borderline pathetic. The Huffington Post has shown themselves to be the epitome of trash at this point. Anything they can do to attack Kate they will. When you read what this woman wrote, they way that she made a HUGE point about accusing the kids were "working" just to get a rejoice from the haters, made my skin crawl. LEAVE KATE ALONE, ENJOY YOUR VACATION.

Should I have made this a whole post? No, they don't deserve it. But I was so pissed when I read this article I wanted to see if I was the only one that felt this way. So I ask you to please comment about this article and tell me what you think in my comments section. Did this woman cross the line of her "personal" assessment of the Gosselins? Or was it painfully obvious that she was there from the start to do what her job wanted her to do, which was make Kate Gosselin look as bad as possible, then stage it as truth when she was the only one who saw anything and could basically write anything and people would believe it. Or am I such a Kate Gosselin supporter that I'M seeing this all wrong? I need to hear from my loyal followers. I want to know!

'Kate Plus 8' On Bald Head Island: Exclusive Details On The Gosselin Family's Working Vacation  By Katy Hall, HuffingtonPost.com
Kate Gosselin, her eight kids, bodyguards and a TLC crew took the ferry to Bald Head Island, N.C., on Sunday for a week of camera-ready beach fun. The next day I arrived with little more than a swimsuit and a stack of books, hoping to unplug for a whole week for the first time in years.

It was with a mix of vexation and glee that I learned the Gosselins were renting the house (at $8,025 for the week) directly across from me. I had been warned during my trip over. "Kate Plus 8!" was the subject line of several emails my devoted but celebrity-ignorant dad sent me, along with wildly distant photos of the sextuplets on the beach. My mom, who recognized the Gosselins only from reading my work, filled my voicemail with tales of Kate jogging at 7 a.m., Kate standing with her hands on her hips while her kids played with the camera crew, the piles of new pink and green beach toys and towels stacked in their packaging on their porch. It was a lot of excitement for an island where the biggest disruptions are intimate beach weddings, allowed only in off-season.

Bald Head Island is an isolated community filled with maritime forest preserve and lavish houses painted in muted colors. It's the same place John Edwards was once reported to be eying an estate for himself and Rielle Hunter (the listing is still on the market, much to the relief of homeowners who came for the quiet and privacy). It's also where Kate Gosselin took the kids last summer just before she and Jon announced their divorce. The only way to reach the island is by ferry, and golf carts are the only way to get around once you're there. I've been visiting my family's Bald Head home for years. I go to clear my head of pretty much everything but how to prepare the fish each night. I do not go to think about whether and why I care about the Gosselins.

But I had little choice as their vacation, and mine, began with a photo op. I was sitting on the beach when they all paraded out of our shared beach access walkway with a camera crew, two bodyguards and a couple of boom guys. First came Cara and Mady, followed by their six younger siblings, the girls in pink polka dot two-pieces and the boys in Hawaiian print trunks. Finally Kate, in a sensible pink and white bikini, appeared. Blonde weave blowing straight behind her and one hand planted just below her waist, she smiled at the cameras. When the family reached the ocean they were directed to turn right around and head back to the house. One of the boys hung back, looking longingly at the water. His mom hadn't noticed, but eventually one of the crew ran back and whisked him into line. The next day, the crew and sextuplets were out, but no Kate. The kids played in the ocean and fought for the attention of a young camera guy who patiently played a few dozen games of rock, paper, scissors. All were having fun until an argument over a granola bar led Alexis to spit on one of her brothers. "Alexis Faith!" the babysitter yelled, and the kids were soon assembled into a line to march back inside.

Wednesday finally brought an off-camera beach outing. Kate had swapped the modest two-piece she'd had on for filming for a nude-colored sparkly string bikini. The only other adult present, a middle-aged, athletic man with a full head of gray hair, sat very close to her. "Steve, Steve!" the kids called as he splashed them from a bucket of water. I later identified him as Steve Neild, a longtime bodyguard and travel companion who is married and was rumored to have served as Kate's boob job consultant last year. I took a couple pictures with my phone and ended up catching Steve's attention. He jogged over to my beach chair and asked in a stern British accent, "Would you mind not taking pictures of the children?" I didn't point out I was more interested in snapping him and Kate touching legs. I agreed, and firmly, protectively, he said, "Erase those, now." I knew he had no legal basis, but allowed him to bully me because I had already saved the halfway decent ones and I did not want to become his enemy with several days left in the week. In exchange, Steve asked if I would like a picture with Kate. It seemed like a routine offer meant to disarm citizen paparazzi. "Sure," I said, and we strolled over to Kate, who was staring into space, apparently unaware of the exchange. "I'm a big fan of the show," I told her. I have never seen an episode of the show, but it seemed like the least sinister motivation to offer. Steve asked Kate to pose. "Come now, get up!" he said. "In a bikini?" she whined. Her skin was a deep orange, her stomach dimpled by a pair of scars (tummy tuck and c-section, I guessed), her long nails perfectly French manicured. She wore dangly silver earrings and multiple necklaces. She pulled on a long white cover-up, ignoring Steve's repeated assurances that she looked "fantastic" in her bikini. "One condition," she told me. "You can't post this on Facebook or anything. We're anonymous here and we'd like to stay that way."

I nodded, wondering how she equated anonymity with bringing a large crew to film her family vacation. Kate struck a red-carpet pose, hand on hip, facing into the wind ("My hair blows back this way," she explained), and we awkwardly embraced as Steve fumbled with my iPhone. The next day it was back to work. The kids were forced to fly large, expensive-looking kites for the cameras even though the wind was blowing more than 20 miles per hour, too fast for small boats to go out. Not a single kite made it into the air as the crew and babysitter struggled with the kids' kites for more than an hour while Kate adjusted her black sundress. For this she earns a reported $250,000 per episode, more than twice what Jon Hamm makes for each hour of 'Mad Men.' Five days into the Gosselins' trip, a celebrity photo agency had finally learned of their whereabouts and sent a paparazzo to the beach. He sparred with both beachgoers and 'Kate Plus 8' crew, but INF captured the kite-flying misadventure here. The crew and entourage had swelled to about 15, and homeowners were starting to vent as they gathered to watch the reality circus that had taken over their beach and blocked their beach access. "She is not a classy person," said a woman who had seen Kate, the kids and cameras invade the Bald Head Island Club pool the day before. "Just talking on her phone, ignoring her kids. And that tattoo!" Someone called the police, who were eager to respond to something other than a speeding golf cart. The complaint was that the crew had trodden upon the protected sand dunes--an offense that carries a $300 fine--and that was as good a reason as any to get them off the beach. A camerawoman who had been shooting from a dune blamed the children, and a burly director type rushed over to establish himself as the go-to police liaison.

On Friday the family stayed in, and that night a newly chastened Steve circled the house several times looking for paparazzi before allowing everyone out for a sunset stroll. From my porch I watched Kate, Steve and the kids walk down the beach access and start flying a kite. The wind had finally died down and the sky blushed pink. Then a confrontation erupted between Steve and a paparazzo who had been laying curled in the sand. I would have felt bad had they embraced this sort of limelight hating earlier in the week. There were moments that resembled a normal summer vacation--the twins shucking corn on the porch before dinner, Aaden in his glasses standing spellbound at the edge of the ocean, Kate running up to the house to get snacks and juice boxes for her kids. Maybe there will be more of these if they leave the cameras behind next year.

The day of the kite flying fiasco, two old ladies in one-piece swimsuits stopped to take in the scene. They asked me what everyone was looking at and I told them a big family was filming a reality series. "What happens in the show?" one of them asked. "Pretty much this," I gestured at the crew coaxing the tired, bored kids to play, Kate standing over them pointing her fingers and fixing her hair. "I thought 'Seinfeld' was the show about nothing!" the other woman snorted, and they continued their walk down the beach.

  1. I've never posted here before, but this article made me sick. This Huffington Post group always writes hateful, snarky articles about Kate. I guarantee that these so-called events seen through the eyes of some one impartial would have been reported entirely different. I find it hard to understand why one woman would so obviously attack another just for the sake of a spicy, gossippy, lying tabloid style article. Pointing out her scars, making comments about her every move and supplying some mystical ability to tell us Kate's motivation for everything. And my what a lying stalker she really is...looks Kate in the eye and says I watch your show and then admits she has never watched it. This Katy Hall is nothing but a shallow, unprincipaled writer who will sell out a mother and her children for her own 2min. of fame. Bask in your selfish glory, Ms. Hall. You have distinguished yourself as another slut writer with no integrity. You owe Kate Gosselin, the Nield family and those precious children an apology.

  2. I'm trying again to post. Blogger issues today. I don't buy much of what this writer said. Why? I'm sorry, I trust my friend Cheryl more; she isn't a fan of the Gosselins but what she told me is different. First, Steve apparently wasn't there to begin with, other security guards were there. Second, we had a Huffington Post article, then suddenly this Katy writer is there? Third, my friend says that when Steve arrived, he had a handful of papers that he was discussing with Kate. Fourth, anybody who has lived in the area, as this Katy alleges she had, KNOWS that people in the greater Wilmington area are so used to celebrities that it isn't a big deal! With the movie studios there, celebs love filming there because they can go to dinner in the area restaurants and get scarcely a glance. Fifth, I can't buy that Kate is putting on a coverup and Steve is telling her not to??? That's so "off" it's stupid!! Sixth, she admits she lies, then expects to be believed? I think not! Seventh, it's tough to fly ANY kite on this beach. You hire the instructors to show you how, and even then it's hard! I could go on, but that's enough.

  3. fired up - Welcome and thanks for posting.

  4. I don't buy it. Some things she said may have happened only in her sad little imagination and much else of what she said is conjecture at best.

If all were true that would make Kate an uncaring, self-centered b. I don't think she or any other members of her family for that matter are that good actors or actresses.

They are what you see on their show a lovely, loving, entertaining family.

  5. While it's clear the writer did her best to bring every possible negative insinuation to her alleged observations, some of this still seems to defeat many of the popular Kate myths. For example: 1) it seems Kate was friendly when asked to pose for a picture with her "fan" and even gave her a hug afterwards (I thought Kate was an evil shrew to fans); 2) Kate was seen going back and forth to the house to get snacks and juice for the kids (I thought only a nanny did those things); 3) Kate went down to the beach to fly kites with the kids even when they weren't filming (I thought Kate never played with the kids unless the cameras were on); 4) the kids were seen having fun with the camera crew (I thought they hated having the camera crew around because it means they're "working"). Of course, I'm sure the haters will come up with some sinister explanation for anything positive, and will no doubt accept without question everything negative (but we're the sheeple, right?).

  6. Although Katy Hall is reportedly the associate entertainment editor for the "Huffy Puffy Rag" AKA known as Huffington Post, it makes you wonder! Supposedly her parents own a home at Bald Head Island. I wonder if she realizes that property records are considered public records? BTW, Bald Head Island is in Brunswick County, NC? I wonder if her parents are proud of her, or saddened by her admitting a lie to get a story and thinking it is ethical journalism? Nothing angers North Carolinians much more than people who come in to distort and malign others? I wonder if she cares? I wonder, if her parents do own a home there, how their neighbors will feel about her actions? I wonder if she got a "cut" from INF?

  7. There is a Hall family directly across from the rental. I checked the address.

  8. Good evening everyone! Everyone is complaining they can't post on Blogger today. I don't know why & I'm so sorry, please keep trying!

Denise~ This girl obviously took advantage of he situation by gtting over to her parents please as FAST as possible because you know HP was gonna fire her if she didn't. Here they have spent months attacking Kate on their site, and they get wind that one of their writers parents is right next to them. Such a sham.

The worst part of this article was when she clearly states that she has never watched the show. But once Steve came over and asked her to take a picture with Kate she's all "I love your show". Proving that she's a liar, I choose to think that her embllishing was for haters glee and not necessarily true.

  9. Thanks Denise. I have been unable to verify it. I knew if I posted the info somebody would check. I'm going to call the clerk of courts also on Monday since we paid property taxes there. Interesting that she begrudged Kate for being there, but felt, she herself was entitled to be there. I doubt she makes that much from Huffington Post, even as an editor. Guess it's good she has more affluent patents, eh?

  10. She seems to have several family members on the island. Long timers feel very protective and resent renters. That has been true many places we have lived.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Are you kidding, she is loving this. She clearly staes that her father sent her photos and e-mails before she got there.. Clearly shows that someone that hasn't had a vacation in forever should not be watching like a sicko to see if someones legs touch.

But Katy is loving all this, because once we ran with all this every single Gosselin site is now talking about it EXCEPT GWOP. Ironically they are a sinking ship that gives people the zzz's and I can't help but smile a bit over that.

    ReplyDelete
  12. This story broke last night, I think gwop already saw it.

I agree it seems to be a dying site, people have moved on to another place.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Denise, with the economy, more and more beach homes are on the rental market. True in NC, all the way to the Hamptons. Well, actually probably in any resort area now. I know it's also true in FL. My BIL tells me the same thing is true in the ski areas in CO in the winter. Whether TLC or Kate paid for the house, I'm glad that Kate could be there with the kids' where beaches aren't so crowded. For the record, folks, Kate was there with kids before when marriage was ending. This is at the lower end of NC beaches, south of Wilmington. This is not the same place she and Jon went with the kids; that was on the outer banks, which is considerably north of there.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm not sure, btw, whether the $ cited for Kate's salary is for her alone or is the combined salary including kids, per episode or per season. I hope it is per episode. If true, I'm happy for her. If her earnings this year are 3mill, and the mortgage on het home was 900k, then clearly she is NOT living above her means with the home, etc. How many people could pay their mortgage off with only 1/3 of their annual salary? And, still shop at Target, etc instead of Neiman-Marcus, etc. Go Kate! Just keep laughing all the way to the bank and do a little dance step when you get there!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Sorry I'm late in this convo....actually had time to spend quality time with the kiddos for once!

This "article" (crap) sounds like it came directly off of gwop same holier than though speculative junk they spew. All the detail she gave about Kate sounds like stalker to me. Notice barely any comments are made about the kids unless it was negative?
I'd love to hear a detailed description of this Katy chick. Bet she could be described in an unflattering light also.

    Ugh.

And why does it matter that she was wearing a nude sparkly bikini on her day off filming?

Sorry if there's typos...my phone won't let me fix them tonite for some reason.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Until I see the photo of her with Kate, I won't believe that either. It wouldn't surprise me if she is one of the regulars on GWOP. The rumors that Kate was a diva on DWTS was another tale someone made up. It's just crazy to report on someone's scars. I'm proud of Kate for wearing a bikini. This will only make more people want to watch the show. Most of all, I don't like the invasion of the kids' privacy.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I don't think I've ever commented here before, but that article is just trash. I can't believe she would make rude comments about Kate's scars. All these people who trash Kate Gosselin are just secretly jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  18. SMT - ITA! I don't understand any woman's need to trash the looks of another woman, or children. That writer says she lied, then expects us to believe her. In reading other "articles" she wrote, it would seem she just likes to trash people!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Wow. What a stupid woman. First off, I hate everything she says about Kate. But doesn't it also seem like she's mocking her parents too for being interested in the Gosselins? I don't care if you're some bigshot writer, you still need to respect your parents! And I'm pretty sure that when Kate said to not post on "Facebook or anything", writing a smutty article about your experience with Katie falls under the "anything" category.

And ohmygoodness, a tattoo?!? Well, that's just terrible. I mean, obviously having a tattoo prevents your ability to be a good mother... granted, that idiotic comment came from another woman, and not Katy, but she could have omitted it when writing the article.

    ReplyDelete
  20. How stupid. This article makes me want to vom. I don't believe any of it. NOT.A.WORD.

    ReplyDelete
  21. All Katy Hall did by writing this article this way is make a total fool of herself. Not one positive word and that in itself tells me what kind of a person she is, not classy at all. To refer to Kate's hair as a 'weave' and Steve as her boob job consultant is just disgusting!! I can understand if she doesnt agree with Jon and Kate's decison to film the kids. I would understand if she wrote about that in a professional manner but to say they were "forced" to fly kites as they "worked" is laughable. Really?? I am sure my kids would be horrified to fly kites on a beach. NOT

    ReplyDelete
  22. Off topic, but Extreme Makeover Home Edition has done a home in Berks County Pennsylvania. I wonder if they had Kate Gosselin involved, probably not because we haven't heard anything, but if they did, ratings boom for ABC. That is one show I think would be cool to see her on.
That article is soo silly as are many in that publication. Entertainment in attacking people or ideas is their specialty. I just wish they would use their time in more positive persuits, time spent doing something positive is time spent not doing something negative and this world could stand a lot more of that

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ahhh... All of you are so on the mark about Katy Hall! I'm a native southerner but have lived in a lot of different areas of the US. People say things in different ways. In the bracket of homes there, southerners would "Nevah" say "She is not a nice person" in public where anybody could hear it! There are code words. Here we say "Isn't that lovely!" Or, what a "lovely child" or " lovely person." lol what that means is in reality, just the opposite! Also, my own kids did kite flying on that same beach five years ago. They kept at it for a good three hours while I was ready to do something else. I just polled them on the way home from church and asked if that was work. They said,"Oh Mom! We'd have tried all day but you finally made us throw frisbee's and do sandcastles." They wanted to know why we don't go back (we sold that house) because they felt like with the ferry ride they were going to another country.

  24. It was poorly written article that was based on events that have happened in the past, tummy tuck, the hair additions, the tattoo. Turning well known facts into total gossipy drool. It also showed some stalker type behavior guess she felt she landed the story of the year. I will continue to support Kate because she is a woman and a human being and see the positive in her.

  25. tasha, the gal on Extreme makeover is a widowed nurse who works in Wyomissing.
Not sure how Kate could have been involved but they are having fundraisers, maybe she donated something.

  27. Hello everyone! Welcome to our new commenters and thanks for all my friends that came to post today. I appreciate it!! It's drizzling here

Ms. Katy Hall is beyond thrilled that everyone is talking about her incredibly exhausting vacation stalking Kate Gosselin & spending hours behind a camera praying someone would touch legs. Wouldn't that be SUCH a huge exclusive! She would sell that to Star Mag for BIG $$$ Could you imagine?? TOUCHING LEGS! I know that if I was Ms. Hall & I NEVER watched Jon & Kate Plus 8, then I would not be wasting my whole vacation stalking her UNLESS my job forced me to.

Tashapork~ I would hope that they would contact her about it. That would be really cool to watch!

  28. The only thing I really feel Kate would be used for in Extreme Makeover Home Edition is to bring ratings to the show for ABC. The only show I see her being really relavent is would be one with higher order multiples.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sorry BabyMama, I tried really hard to read the article from an unbiased perspective but I had to stop reading it about 1/4 of the way in. "Paraded," "blonde weave," and "tummy tuck," turned me off immediately.

She not only insulted Kate regarding the tummy tuck scars, but all women who had children resulting in stretch marks, c-section scars, or (no not the dreaded) tummy tuck scars. If she didn't get a tummy tuck can you imagine what she would have said. This article is ridiculous and feeds the Khaters fire.

  30. Sounds like a spur of the moment working vacation. I'm a editor at Huffington...my parents have a house where Kate(who we love to bash)is vacationing...my clueless dad sends me some emails and pictures...my vacation just happens to be at the same time so I go and sit day and night watching their everymove...never turning away (it is a small island after all) and trying to enjoy myself... after all what kind of a so called news person would I be if I didn't publish another critical Kate story.

I also really really liked ShirleyNoName post.

Just looking at the positive things that was going on would have made it such a different story. Just hope Miss Katy Hall can sleep well at night knowing that she lied right to Kate's face and then turn around and wrote something like this.

Also, I WANT that cute little black sundress/cover up Kate had on whwn they were flying kites. We live on a lake and constantly on the beach. I am always looking for cute stuff like that to cover my toosh.

  33. KatherineDenise~ I KNOW! I want it too, these are the times I really miss Gosselin Garb (sigh)..Could anyone help us that may know where she bought that pretty black cover-up??

Dee~ Welcome back! We missed you. I loved your post so much I would seriously consider it. If Denise could get Kate to have a flying Kites episode, then anything on this blog is possible. Theres nothing wrong with side money, and apparently they take ALL stlyes of writing lol. I would love to see you write something in response to her article!

Gosselin Beach Vacation Comes To An End
    -----------------------------------------------------
    Posted on Aug 15, 2010 @ 09:30AM

Kate Gosselin and her eight kids packed up and headed home from their Bald Head Island, North Carolina beach vacation yesterday, RadarOnline.com has learned. Kate and the kids had the help of her bodyguard and good friend Steve Neild in getting them and their mountain of luggage to the ferry, but it was not without its tense moments.

As the kids gets older and the luggage gets heavier, trips like this -- even with all the help from the Kate Plus 8 TLC crew -- can be a little overwhelming.

But over all, the family appeared to have had an exceptionally good time during their getaway. Now it's back-to-school time for the kids. Next up for Kate is an appearance on the Emmy Awards telecast August 29.

  36. Apparently Katy Hall's article trashing Kate Gosselin is creating a backlash in NC. This state is considered Hollywood East in terms of films made. The state spends major $$ with it's film commission to continue recruitment of both films and tv shows to film here. It is a major boost to the economy, with jobs, technical training for craftsmen, running the gamut from not just those on film crews but to carpenters, for example building sets, to hoteliers and restaurants in accommodations and food service, on and on. It's difficult in today's economy to retain jobs. Hall's hatchet job is considered an embarrassment in a number of ways. I somehow don't feel her next visit to NC will receive a warm welcome. I'd suggest she make sure she packs dark glasses and try to travel incognito. Local residents there told me that it was very low key until Hall and/or her family called in the papparazzi. Folks there are not amused.

  40. Denise - I've detested Huffington Post for years, long before the Gosselins. I have zilch respect for their owner, editor-in-chief, or rheir writers. Years ago I was approved as a poster there and my comments sailed through. When I started disagreeing with their financial writers, such as their support of Madden's "shrewd" investments my posts stopped going through and I wonder how many got bilked via listening? I'm talking about backlash in North Carolina. I'm told it was very low key until the first photos in Huffington Post which people in NC suspect were via Hall's parents/relatives and then Huffy Post's linkup with INF. I'm told the island residents are furious, and NOT with Gosselins and crew, but with the Halls. Friends have invited us down for labor day weekend so I want to ask for myself. Much as the Gosselins have enjoyed Bald Head Island, I'm hoping they go next to one of the Florida islands or private keys. If you aren't staying there you don't get on, period! And some are small enough that you can rent the whole doggone island for much less than than you'd think.

    ReplyDelete
  41. If TLC wants the G8 to be anomous?sp for filming, then they should rent a private place or film at home behind the trees and bushes. That would keep the paps and others out of the area.

The next time they go to Bald Head Island it should be without the film crew, but I suppose it's too late now for that now.

Yes, the article is snarky, but I think there is truth on both sides of the fence. JMO!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Caregiver - there were no people filming other than TLC until Huffy Post. The woman says she's never watched a show but then even to the supposed passersby, she alleges herself to be an authority. She snarks about even the new beach toys on the porch, as if people should carry last years beach toys with them on a plane flight there. She obviously spent her time there stalking, observing the kids' every activity including shucking corn on the porch. She jeers at Kate's c section scar visible in a different swimsuit, apparently when there were no TLC crews filming - just this stalking journalist with her camera. Until Kate added the trees the kids couldn't even play in their own yard at home without even that idiot Al hanging in the trees. Don't you even wonder why, if she had a photo of Steve & Kate canoodling she didn't publish the photo? The rag mags are still offering up to $250k for those types of photos. I doubt most of what she said. BTW, Steve didn't confront her over photos of Kate or himself, but the kids. Where would you suggest they go? Kate couldn't even swim in her own pool in the backyard without photos? I'm hoping Kate sells the PA home and moves to a gated enclave with security guards.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Of course though, if Kate moved to a gated enclave, she be accused by haters of keeping her kids behind bars.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Strange also, isn't it, that every single photo shows Kate interacting with the kids.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I am guessing the writer is not a parent...I have 4 kids all 5 and under and when we go outside, I sit in a chair and watch them run around and yes, even cry. There is no law that states you have to play with your kids every single moment. Her children are old enough to play alone and they do not need a constant interaction from her. My oldest is 6 months younger that the 6 and he enjoys playing alone! It was a bad article but people like to talk about other people and those "horrible" things that they do with their kids.

  46. "Kate couldn't even swim in her own pool in the backyard without photos?"

L/O, when have there been pictures of the backyard pool that weren't sanctioned? The picnic table on the patio and the fenced pool are not visible unless one is in the yard.

I have said since the beginning that the Wernersville home was a poor choice and a gated community would have been more logical. The land with the house cannot be divided and is too much to maintain.

  47. Denise - the paps climb the trees in the neighbor's yard to shoot in the back using telephoto lenses. The most recent photo is the pool shot that set off the latest round of boobygate. The G's planned to build in NC on the coast, although Kate wasn't sure about leaving friends & family in PA. With the last attack at the old house, Kate wanted out of there pronto, scared about more car and house attacks right under the window of the twins. They'd endured months of staying away from windows, drapes drawn in the front. She discussed all of this in her book. They opted to take the present house because it was built, and thinking at the time that it wad far enough from the road to keep people away. Gated communities lead to isolation but do offer a small measure of security.

  48. Under the divorce circumstances, I don't think Kate wants to move the kids away from the constancy of their friends and school.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm sure Jon would have a say also in any move. Although I wonder if he does have a million, after dropping $5k a month for his NY apt, he couldn't afford more than a 1 bedroom apt at PA rental rates which have to be much cheaper than Manhattan. I guess it's all to do with priorities.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Linda, I only think Jon would have a say so in the move if it was out of state. But then since he is being paid by TLC, he could move too, and still be near the kids.
If paps want to climb trees again then they should be arrested for trespassing.
If they are in public, pictures are always going to be taken and maybe sold. It goes with the territory when you want to be a Celebrity.

  51. Have a great day all. KatherineDenise- I too hope karma catches up with Katy Hall. ;)

  52. Lexi - You are posting on ROL, that Jon is a douchebag and deadbeat dad. The article is about Kate and says nothing about Jon. So why mention him?
He is paying support to Kate and gave his permission to film the kids, so isn't that what everyone wanted? The past is the past let it go!

  53. Look Hannah cut her hair
    http://www.radaronline.com/photos/image/82211

It is really short. I think Lex cut her hair short too. Good for Kate for letting go and ltting them cut their hair how they want it. I remember cutting my hair short in first grade. I hated it and never did it again.

  54. Good morning everyone! Trying to make Monday a happy one, I know it's so hard to start a new week... ;)

Kayla thanks so much for showing me the Hannah photo! I didn't even notice that the cutie finally cut her hair. It was so long for a while and I wonder if it just got too long. She will always look like a cute hula girl to me!

I know how hard it is to come back from vacation, and I wonder if Kate has yet to hear about this mess of an article and the stalker that wasted her own trip falling over benches to watch if she & Stev e touched legs. I know I would be screaming if I had to read this coming back from any trip. lol

    ReplyDelete
  55. Yes please! As soon as anyone gets info on the black cover up let us know!

I wonder why that woman didn't post her picture with Kate? Do you think she didn't want Kate or Steve to remember her face? That way, the next time she had opportunity to get close Steve wouldn't automatically shew her away? For that matter, what about the "scandalous" bikini shot or the shot of the kids being "forced" to fly kites? Where are the pictures to back up her story?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I remember when I was in second grade and I used to have long hair and hate it because of the tangles and brushing. My mother had dropped us off at the haircutting place and went next door to the Kmart because back then parents did that and I told them to give me a short haircut. I loved it and have had varying lengths of short haircuts since. Short hair allows kids to be more independent in their grooming.
I really don't see Kate moving in the foreseeable future especially with all of the landscaping work she's put in. The Elizabethtown house was hard enough to sell and it was in a much more sellable price range. (I still love that house and wish I could have one with that layout) and houses in her current price range are even harder to sell. I don't see the feasibility of carrying two jumbo mortages. I also see issues with living in a gated community because they might have rules prohibiting the legitimate filming that the Gosselins do.
I also agree that a vacation without film crew could be nice, but then the haters would probably say that it happened because Kate had a falling out with the film crew and nobody could stand her or something. They always twist things.

  57. I am offended by the nasty remark about the scar. I don't have a tummy tuck but I do need one. I'm just too scared to go under the knife! However, if I did get up enough courage and the result was a wonderful flat stretch free (or almost stretch free) stomach I would most certainly show off my tummy. I personally wouldn't do a bikini because I have a 12 year old son and he'd probably fall over in embarrassment! :)

  58. tashapork - I think Kate & the 8 do things like trips that aren't filmed by TLC. She, unlike Jon, does not alert the paps, and does things like planting trees to try to avoid the paps. Think back to DWTS and the 8 going to CA. They actually had a couple of days before the paps caught on to them being there. Remember also how the haters said, "She's going to put those kids on camera on DWTS and she's only doing it for TLC." The kids were not on DWTS to my knowledge, even though all of the other celeb's kids were shown in tiny glimpses.

More and more, I'm thinking that so many of the paps shots were because they were alerted by Jon, perhaps by the kids calling him. I'm wondering if Kate is not waiting to tell the kids where they are going so it can't "slip" out or be "coaxed" out of them. I can't see her saying, "Don't tell your Dad" so I think she's just saying things like, "It's a surprise."

    ReplyDelete
  59. angelsmama - I agree about the scar comments. I wouldn't wish a c-section on my worst enemy, truly, but I wish Katy Hall had to endure a temporary scar to see what it is like!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Linda, I think you are right about Jon alerting the paps. I remember her in the Discovery Cove episode making comments about having to keep plans under wraps so that a certain someone doesn't let the cat out of the bag and I remember thinking that she might be meaning Jon. I wonder if part of it is his foot mouth syndrome where he doesn't think before speaking and part of it is jealousy that he isn't on the trips too. It's kind of sad to think that the kids shouldn't be sharing certain things with their Dad and that he isn't always looking out for their best intersts. I hope we are wrong and it isn't him, but truthfully I doubt it. I was just saying that they would find a way to twist it no matter what she dces.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Ack I posted with the wrong account...discard my other post.

Speaking as a person who has had a csection if some one looks good enough after having a csection to wear a bikini more power to them! I wouldn't be caught dead in one right now but If I had a bod like hers.....

I have been holding this thought in, but, does any of these haters realized that because of her PCOS she HAS to exercise? It's one of the only way to keep the symptoms at bay. That and eating organic. Which is hard especially when you have PCOS and love Pepsi and french fries like I do!!!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  62. tashapork - you are so right. I think that even if Kate moved to a gated community, it would be twisted to "she's got her kids in prision."

    ReplyDelete
  63. CraftyMom - unfortunately, the hate brigade don't really care. Somebody sent me an email of a copy of a posting at one place where they were accusing her of making up the whole PCOS so she could go artificial insemination. That is just sick logic.

  64. Swimdress - I don't think it's available any longer since swim season is pretty much over except in FL & CA in this country. I think it was an Oakley TriHalter Swim Dress. So maybe if we start early next year, or check out FL stores if you are going there on vacation in the fall, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  65. BTW - Oakley swimsuits also sells those little triangle wedges that go under the boob in swimsuits for top rounding. Geez, I actually mentioned boobs again, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Tash - I don't think Jon can leak anything about the where abouts of his kids. That is part of the gag order with TLC. Also, nothing negative about Kate, but people can still bash him. He is another puppet owned and operated by TLC. It's unbelievable to me, sometimes, what people will do for money.

    ReplyDelete
  67. #1caregiver - Please tell me where I can read about the TLC gag order.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Seriously Linda? You can't fake PCOS. Trust me. That is one of the dumber ones I have heard.

    ReplyDelete
  69. where do they come up with this stuff!

    ReplyDelete
  70. GW - Well you can assume that is why he is getting Pd. No one here or at any other site knows what the truth really is, do they?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Caregiver - I believe Gee Whiz was asking about a gag order imposed on Jon by TLC or the court? TLC said he couldn't work on tv until his contract in force then ended (it now has ended) but could take any other job he wanted. I can't find any other gag order by TLC. The court decree was ( after Jon's latest visit) held private but I don't think they'd have any authority to restrict him from talking to paparazzi. If you've got info on any gag order by TLC or the court, it would be great to have that info. Thanks.

  72. Woo Hoo. Just say a TLC promo that the next Kate+8 airs Monday, August 30th. The NYC episode!!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oh cool. Can't wait to see that one.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Linda & Gw - Don't you think that TLC and Jon came to some type of agreement like I mentioned? I didn't say it was court ordered. Maybe calling it confidential is more appropriate. None of us can prove anything here. Or maybe it was J&K that came to an agreement if Jon got PD> so much. With what is in the media, it just looks like hes keeping mum on a whole lot of stuff.
    Good Night to All

    ReplyDelete
  75. Caregiver - I have no idea. He tweets every 10 seconds so he's not too silent about much. I think he listened to every jerk under the sun. TLC was willing to pay Jon his full salary and do nothing but he was convinced he could have a major hit show with his new buddies. I've wanted to believe him so many times but he says contradictory things in the same interviews. He isn't silent about much, so again I don't know. It just seems like his "rescue me, it's somebody else's fault" ethic is stronger than his work ethic. I wonder if he wasn't just coddled too much in his early 20s instead of being told to stand on his own too feet.

    ReplyDelete
  76. #1Caregiver - help me understand why a gag order preventing Jon from informing paps regarding the where abouts of his children or preventing him from saying mean things about Kate is a bad thing. If Jon is at a point in his life where he cannot control himself from doing either behaviour without some sort of monetary reward as opposed to maturity and concern for the childrens' feelings, then I applaud TLC in helping Jon control his own behaviour.

A whole lotta strong floral scents that are in my head right now. Choose your favorite and head over with me to the new post!
