Kate Gosselin Says Brother Lied: MyFoxPhilly.com
PHILADELPHIA - Reality TV mom Kate Gosselin went on the offensive Wednesday, after her brother testified before a Pennsylvania state legislative panel that her eight children were mistreated. Gosselin went on Joy Behar’s talk show and slammed Kevin Kreider, her brother, and her sister-in-law, Jodi Kreider. "My brother has made a lot of money off of saying things that are untrue about us," Gosselin said. "I've not allowed them to see my kids for two years. So I'm not quite sure what information they think they may have." Gosselin claims the Kreiders tried to cash in on her fame. "With that kind of trust ruined and knowing that they have made hundreds of thousands of dollars on lies about us, I'm not sure what their goals are, because they were a part of our show and things were fine and dandy then."
Last year, the Kreiders told various media outlets they were kicked off “Jon & Kate Plus 8” after Kate Gosselin found out TLC wanted to compensate the Krieders for appearing on the show. Earlier on Wednesday, state officials said they would not take action against TLC for not obtaining work permits for Jon and Kate Gosselin’s eight children. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor said the producers of the reality TV show did not violate child labor laws. The state investigation found that filming was done without proper permits, but no legal action will be taken against the show’s producers as long as they get permits for future filming. Also, going forward, 15 percent of the gross earnings must be put into a trust for the children. At an unrelated hearing on Wednesday, Kate and Jodi Kreider shocked some in attendance with their claims about how “Jon & Kate” was produced.
Jon Gosselin Finds A Place To Live: Radar.com
Jon Gosselin is moving into his own place near the home he used to share with Kate and their 8 kids. Jon’s lawyer Anthony F. List told RadarOnline.com that Gosselin has “rented a large apartment in Reading PA with several bedrooms” and that “he signed the lease just the other day.” “He’s secured a property in Reading. There’s a lot of room with lots of open space. It’s really beautiful,” List told RadarOnline.com. Last week Jon filed court papers requesting physical custody of the Gosselin kids as well as the right to live in Kate’s guest house. As RadarOnline.com reported, Jon has been living with his brother since breaking up with girlfriend Morgan Christie. Kate’s attorney, Mark Momjian called the filing “procedurely flawed” and told RadarOnline.com that, among other things, Jon hadn’t even listed a current address. Jon’s attorney, clearly annoyed, responded to Momjian’s statements, saying: “Grow up. For obvious reasons, we did not want to put down Jon’s address. It would have created havoc for him, his neighbors and his brother. I think it was an unfair comment for Momjian to make when he knows full well that it has nothing to do with the merit of what I filed.” On Thursday, Momjian continued to articulate his position, saying that Jon should continue to pay child support no matter what Kate is earning now.“I would agree that Jon needs to pay child support,” List told RadarOnline.com. “There’s no question about it…it’s an obligation of both parents. But it has to be based on what their ability to pay is, what their income is. Throughout the entire proceedings with Jon and Kate, there’s never been any information put on the table about either one’s income or expenses.

Awww darn!! Looks like moderation is back!!! So I might not have been first! :(
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! I got the first response. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am up late working on a design project. Stopped to see what the latest was.
Looking forward to all the new posts tomorrow!!
Stay strong and be positive, people!!
Hi just wondered when you'll post the next dwts dance? not seen the latest as I live in Australia and would love to see all of Kate's dances. If u can pleeese post ;) Thanks
ReplyDeleteI'll try this one again. Yippee Jon has his own place. In my book, its the smartest move that he has made yet. The kids will get to see him on a regular basis and I have always thought and known that is what they need. I am hoping that it last awhile for the benefit of the kids.
ReplyDeleteI also like that dress that Kate is wearing. I hope everyone has a good weekend because Monday will be here soon. DWTS!!!! BM, I am getting tired of watching AM. Idol to.
Posting here since it's the new thread. Sorry I haven't been around - we headed down to the beach yesterday! YEAH!
ReplyDeleteJust a couple of comments regarding what Kate has set up for the kids. Just an FYI of my experience: My youngest son (almost 15) is allowed to work in SC. I figured if he was old enough to work - he was old enough to have his own bank account. Not so - I have to be equally named on any account he has until he is either 16 or 18. PA may be similar in law which is why the accts Kate set up are the way they are. It was probably the easiest way to set up accounts for the kids - and until I see something nefarious regarding those accounts - I just don't think it's a big deal. We set up 'savings accounts' for our kids when they were little to house birthday money and such - and we never touched them. Plenty of parents do that. Why does everything have to be such a big deal if Kate does it the way everyone else does?
As for the hearings - the thing that bothers me the most is that the kids may very well be adjusted - but the way THEY are being used, personally, to forward this agenda (and I am in agreement with those who believe things should be in place to protect children on TV) - could be MORE damaging to the kids than anything! If they haven't been damaged by this -- when they get older -- think about what reading all of this could do to them. Things that IMO are normal for many families (I am in the group as well that has tons of vids of my kids when they were little - peeing in the wrong places (the misery of living with little boys), skinny dipping in my parents pool, all kinds of 'innocent' things) - yet now that they are older they laugh about them. I wonder how they would feel if they started reading things that said that me filming those things was detrimental to them - that they had been taken advantage of -- etc (you know what I mean)?? I get the end purpose of all of this - but I think that the testimony was as damaging and exploitive as anything they said Jon and/or Kate did.
Also - just because the Kreiders were 'invited' to speak at the hearing - doesn't mane that the days, weeks and months leading up to the hearing were not full of them lobbying to make this happen. Political posturing if you ask me.
This is the first time that I've posted a comment, but I've visited the site often. I'm not sure where you find the strength or energy, but I'm impressed. I commend you for facing all of your daily challenges with such a positive attitude.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning,
ReplyDeleteI got left behind yesterday on the original post.(my own fault I'm working on multi-tasking)
I would like to know are Kate & I the only parents out there who in moments of frustration have said "I'm throwing _ in the garbage?" Have none of these folks ever stepped on a block in bare feet? My DH loathes Polly Pockets & Barbie accessories, thinks they are a choking hazard(they are) and annoying. I often rescue them from the garbage. Probably because I buy them and know how much they cost! He does not give a warning-we are working on it. Sheesh, I need to stay away from the Kate critic's...I'm developing a bad mom complex(insert eye-rolls here)
P.S. I've also mentioned to my Darling Husband that if I find his dirty socks in the LR or his tools on my kitchen counter again...I will lose my mind!!:);):)
ReplyDeletetiggerfan1965~ Yes you were first! :)
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone! TGIF! Don't you wish if you ever had a miserable day there was a do-over button? Where you could just delete the whole day and start over again? Well consider this my little internet way of trying that.
Things have been very stressful for me, and I wasn't able to sleep. This morning I woke up and needed to regroup and start again. My daughter who will be 9 next week is is getting a surprise from her grandparents to go to American Girl with her cousins tonight! Lucky girl huh? THEN she gets her bowling party (again other grandparents $$) with her friends next weekend. I swear, talk about spolied! I think I have some lint and $14 bucks in my pocket right now! It reminded me how excited Mady & Cara were when they went. I didn't realize that they pushed J&K to like 7am NY time on TLC, but got to watch a bit and boy do I miss it...
I just have to say... I saw Kate on Jay Leno last night and she looked great and one of the funniest interviews yet.I am so glad people get to see her sence of humor. But, after her Kenny Chesney was on, as soon as he came out I said "Omg thats it, how cute of a couple would Kate and Kenny make?" LOL I lthought they looked great together!! I think hes single as well. I just had to throw it out there, too funny, lol
ReplyDeleteHope - about you taking videos of your children. I feel every parent can video tape their children however they want. Like Kate says, it makes great memories when they get older. It's the fact that they are spread all over the internet and we all know that can lead to trouble. Now we do not know if the children are well adjusted, and just because Kate said so, doesn't make it true.
ReplyDeleteThe long term effects of a realty show like J&K+8 are not known yet. That's why I feel the law makers are going in the right direction. JMO
katherinedenise~ Thank you so much for reminding me! I'm going to get that up day. I spend all night wondering why on my main page.. the sidebar goes to the bottom. Even after deleting the entire post I wrote and it came back. What a pain! Hey is anyone near Santa Monica? If anyone goes tonight please let me know!
ReplyDeleteHeres a question I have.. How does Niecy Nash do The Insider every day and still dance & practice? Is it because he kids are grown? Samantha Harris said on many occasions she had to leave DWTS because The Insider took too much of her time..
I thought Niecy Nash had teen-agers? If they are anything like I was that is when they need the most supervision. She needs to work to, but you wonder why nothing is ever said about the other moms being away from their kids.
ReplyDeleteDoes Niecy do the insider everyday, she might just do it sometimes, but she also does clean house and that's the show I like her on I know that at least at some point last year when they did a clean house special her mom had moved in with her so I am sure she helps and the I also think the dad is involved to some degree. That makes me curious and wanting to watch it again. I do agree about teenagers needing more parenting. I tell people that say little kids are difficult to just wait, you will look back on these days as piece of cake.
ReplyDeleteMomsby i know5 or6 parents who throw toys In the trash and one or two who deliberately step on and break them on occasion when they are left in the middle of the floor. I personally have treated refusal to clean room with a loud eggagerated throwing open the big trashbag and locking the offending stuff in the closet for two weeks. After that I could just make noise with the trashbag and she would run. Does't work for teens though. To me a bad mother never disciplines kids and doesn't keep them safe. A bad mother would never care if anything was picked up.
I'm glad Jon got a place close to the kids. Kate said before he was always welcome to spend more time with them and she even encouraged him to.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Jon leasing a place with several bedrooms got me thinking... doesn't the provisions of their custody agreement stipulate that the parents are to switch residing at "the kids'" house so that the kids maintain stability? Wouldn't Kate lose control of who has access to the children if Jon takes them away from the house? (Like the Kreiders, girlfriends, so-called "nannies", etc?) Just a thought.
Kate rocked the Tonight Show!! She was funny and beautiful!!
ReplyDeletelucysmom, Kate can't control who they see. The Kreiders were at the Wernersville house a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Kate should control who sees the kids in Jon's time unless they are a danger to the children. What if Jon doesn't want Steve the bodyguard with his kids? Should it matter?
ReplyDeleteYeah I remeber how fustrated we all were! Here Kate & Jon are fighting, and he invites them over for all the cameras to see while flaunting it in her face. He then calls the cops because he's out and hires Stephanie to watch the kids while he's doing God knows what. Thinking about it pisses me off. No wonder Kate won't extend his visitation. Has she ever publically attacked him or called the cops on HIM?
ReplyDeleteBut if she owns the house now, wouldn't she be able to have the ultimate say in who is allowed on the Wernersville house property? (hence, access to the children, esp. overnight) Whereas, anywhere else she wouldn't have any controls?
ReplyDeleteAs a divorced Mom, you lose control of many things and just have to accept it.
ReplyDeleteI know Jon has taken the kids to movies and such, even if he couldn't bring people there, they could meet them elsewhere. His mom and grandmother were at the house no too long ago.

Nope that is part of divorce - you lose any say who your kids are around when they are with the other parent. Even if she solely owns the house, Kate really can't enforce who Jon brings there if he is there. It would be unenforceable to have a list of people not allowed on the property.
I did always think it was dumb idea to share the house and have the parents rotate in and out. That can only work if neither parent ever gets involved with anyone else.
I am not totally sure how Kate got the house - I expect money was exchanged in the settlement. Given that it is Kate's house, it is best that Jon have a home nearby and the Gosselin kids do what most kids of divorce do - go back and forth on a set custody schedule.
Emma~ Sweetie welcome! I always try to post each of Kates dances. I don't have the room ot post the whole show, but each stars dance is always on You Tube.
ReplyDeletePAR~ I agree with you 100%. Jon made a stink about Kate putting a lock on her door. You wonder why? After hearing that Stephanie & Jon were together in Kates house? Skeevy x100. I thought it was nuts to share a house, still do. But if it was their dream house, I guess it's hard to sell and give up. Hey maybe Kate SHOULD let him stay up in the garage..lol.
Hope I agree with your first comment! You should be able to tape your children and make home videos. It is for you as the parent and for the children to see when they can watch it.
ReplyDeleteas for what someone else said, I don't think that Kate should be attacked for having her kids filmed and now clips are on the internet. The same should go to every parent who puts home videos on Utube or a blog because then the home clips are on the internet. We could sit here all day discussing how "jon doe" filmed his child doing something like going on the pots (which i have seen on americas funniest home videos) and now its all over the internet. and now that parent has destroyed there child for life or whatever. I really feel as though they should not be attacked for that.
I feel as though the kids are being dragged through mud and yes I feel like Jon is a big part of that, but the krieders and everyone around who keeps saying they just want to protect the kids are dragging them through the mud. Protecting the kids would be to keep all of this stuff private with the courts and to not single out this one show. They should be checking out other shows like table for 12, little people big world and whatever other ones you can think of. They should look at the children of those shows and see how well they are doing. I think that baby mama said it the other day it truly seems like a witch hunt!
I hope all of that made sense I am running off of 3 hours of sleep.
I agree that it is hard to make that kind of arrangement work unless the parents have a really good relationship(one that probably wouldn't lead them to divorce in the first place) or each parent has their own home with all of their personal belongings and brings a suitcase for the time with the kids. I bet that that can get pretty awkward for the babysitters. I am hoping that in the end they are going to be able to sit down and mediate somthing that is good for the kids and reasonable. Even though they shouldn't have been exposed to Jon and Stephanie's relationship especially at that point in the separation, I don't believe she put the kids in any danger. I wonder if she was there more than anything to get a reaction out of Kate. Somebody must be doing something right. When I saw them squirtgunning the paparazzi, they seemed so happy and well adjusted.
ReplyDeleteThank you Baby Mama for putting up the Jay Leno tape. I couldn't stay up that late. It was a nice interview and I hope she gets her big toaster. LOL!
ReplyDeleteNow, about Jon & Kate sharing the house so far. I feel they agreed to that as a matter of convenience, since Jon was in NY, and the old house was up for sale. I think Jon thought he was going to be able to work, but it didn't turn out that way. Now that Kate owns the property, she does have control over it. But not over the children when they are with Jon. I am sure that's why he finally got his own place in the near vicinity of the children. So they can go back and forth just like other children of divorced parents, and there will be nothing Kate can do about it. He will have to provide a safe, and nurturing environment at his own home, just like Kate is doing at her home.
One more good thing about separate homes is that children learn to respect each parents rules of the house when they are there. Those kids are young yet and will adjust over time. As long as the parents stop arguing and let them be kids. Best of Luck to Jon, as he is getting it together, like we all wished for in the past. Remember what we all said in the past?
Ok now I want to know where The Tonight Show dress is from LOL but still love that blue ET dress. BM, I think my post disappeared from last night. Were you referring to the Gosselin Garb blog? Sad that it was taken down--I enjoyed it too and was wondering what happened. That's how I found the Victoria's Secret swim cover-up Kate wore in NC last year.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question about Niecy, I've always been a big skating fan so I follow Evan Lysacek on twitter. During the entire week, he is all over the country and dancing/skating so his partner must travel with him. We got tickets for Stars On Ice at Nassau Coliseum tomorrow so I'm hoping he is there. Maybe Niecy works out some type of similar flex schedule with her partners and other jobs. I do think all 3 of her kids are school age. Funny how none of the other moms get bad press or even other women in show biz. Giada De Laurentiis has been on a book tour solo for at least 2 weeks now and nobody says anything about her being away from home and her daughter.
Tashapork...
ReplyDeleteThanks, I needed the validation today(lol) Sometimes I just get really frustrated with all the hypocracy and double standards.
One of the hardest parts of shared custody is the loss of control. It's really hard to go from making decisions together, to making them idependently. I think it seem's especially hard for us mom's who are used to running the show. It gets even harder IMO when the parents start new relationships. It was bitter sweet the first time I saw my daughter hug her step-mom and tell her she loved her. It's hard...being a parent is hard..I think shared parenting can at times be even harder.
I so hope Jon is done with the reclaiming his youth thing and is back to focusing on the kids. Leasing that house really gives me hope he is.
BabyMama,
ReplyDeleteThe cops were not called by Jon on Kate. Most reports said just "someone" called but some reports said that Kate called them hereself.
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20297960,00.html
Yes! You are correct! I forgot who called the cops. I would too if my husband was sleeping with the babysitter! Lol
ReplyDeletemomsby~ I just vacuumed up a few Polly Pocket shoes myself. I won't buy them anymore because those little pieces are now everywhere and do not stay in the box.
I'm wondering how the book signing will go, and what time she's flying there today. I hate to fly so I don't know how she does it.
Thanks all of you for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteI just want you know that we are safe.
I am starting to think that Niecy and Kate aren't doing any better, losing more weight, etc because they are both doing way more than practicing. I think the other contestants ARE practicing 8+ hours everyday - and it shows. Wasn't it in last weeks show they showed Niecy's dance partner showing up at the filming of one of her upcoming Clean House episodes?
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong!
I am glad that Jon has a place close, too, and am hoping this means forward progress for them in the 'divorced' parenting thing.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it was more 'convenient' for Jon and Kate in ways for them to rotate in the house - I didn't think it was necessarily the best thing.
A judge can prevent anyone from seeing those kids. So if someone is a very bad influence, whatever the reason, the court can be petitioned to prevent contact.
ReplyDeleteKate should go that route with whomever she feels is a bad influence. And Jon can do the same.
The court can even approve nannies.
tiggerfan1965 -re: petition to prevent contact!!
ReplyDeleteCourt s do not like continuous bickering with allot of motions that sound like he said/she said. They have motions now before the court. Some parents just can't stand to lose control/share. Separate residence is the best way to stop any type of interference.
Now this funny thought just popped into my head, so take it light and hardy: I bet these two grown ups have even argued over who ate all the food, and who paid for it. So separate homes are great! JMHO
With the talk about Neicy I just thought of a cool gig for Kate. When Neicy is too busy on Insider, etc they have someone fill in for her onClean House and usually not someone good, but they could have Kate fill in sometime and it would be perfect for her. The designer and yard sale diva do most of the work. It would be perfect and maybe just for kicks the family could have multiples. I do agree that Kate and Niecy probably get less practice and rest and it shows
ReplyDeleteOne mistake women make is that they believe they are the only ones who can provide adequate care for their children in the case of divorce. Although it's funny that they easily turn them over to daycare in order to go outside the home to work!
ReplyDeleteIn divorce, the children lose and any time parents can't agree on custody, they are only hurting the children. Women get absolutely irrational when it comes to custody issues. I've been divorced, as has my husband. I've known plenty of people who have divorced. And the general consensus seems to be that men don't have a clue on how to run a house or raise children. That is not true for not only my husband now, but my ex-husband as well. I had less confidence in him before we divorced but he really showed his capability after the fact (I felt more like a single mom while we were married!) One thing I knew for certain, he had every right to his children as I did. And if that meant that new people entered their life, so be it. If that meant that they spent holidays/birthdays with him, so be it. I had to accept that. He only introduced my children to a few women and they both seemed like good people. Ultimately he married someone that I would've handpicked myself. As for my husband's ex-wife, she was one of those "controlling" women that felt like she was the ONLY one who could possibly be good for her children. She actually asked my husband to have me refrain from hugging them in her presence until she could "get used to it". I endured many eye-rolling moments.
To be honest, this is the type of person I would've expected Kate to be but it seems from the fringes of what we assume is reality that Kate is really trying to what is best for her children and for their relationship with their father. Her personality truly seemed the type to be ultra-controlling in a divorce situation and I am really surprised at the room she seems to have given Jon to be in their lives, especially in light of how he "seems" to be with his relationships and responsibility. But then, we only know what we see from what the media tells us. Remember, the trash mags regularly switch sides in their loyalty of the two.
I find it hard to believe that a judge can prevent anyone from seeing the G kids in the presence of their own parents. Jon has the same rights as Kate. She would have to have good cause for a restraining order on each person, if not Jon himself. Though I agree wholeheartedly that he has made some bad choices, I think he has shown that he has the ability to be a good father, albeit a little immature.
And separate homes seem to be the only logical way to go in the case of divorce. Their situation is unique, with the number of children involved, but as time goes on, it seems almost impossible for the situation to stay as is. And I agree, it would likely be a positive experience for both father and children to spend time in his home. It will less confusing in the future.
Set in the Cleft~ So true. Regardless of any persons feelings about Kate, the fact is this: Jon was gone for a month. When Kate went to do this show, he all of the sudden had free time (kicked out of his girlfriends house) and wanted to be with the kids. I feel that Kate has given him ample time to enjoy time with his kids. I don't in any way agree that they should share the home at this point. But I try to put myself in their shoes, how the kids now love that house, and how would it be for them to be pushed through two different homes. At least now, they can get used to visiting their dad at his own place, and he doesnt have to sleep there when Kate is away. I thought that was really weird.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama,
ReplyDeleteI just read that George Lopez has a "Keep Kate" web site to "keep the train wreck going" as he puts it. It made me think that between her loyal fans and the ugly people out there who just want to make fun of her for another week, Kate might actually make it all the way!
I've watched DWTS since the 2nd season and in the first few weeks no one really cares too much who goes or stays. But as it gets closer to the finals if someone is still there who is a really bad dancer both the judges and Tom Bergeron start making comments that can make it uncomfortable and downright embarrassing for the celebrity dancer.
So I was wondering. What if Kate doesn't improve yet continues to be saved. And what if the judges and host start to make comments that make it uncomfortable for both Kate and Tony. Do you think you will continue to vote for her anyway?
I know its still early in the competition and who knows what will happen. But after reading that George Lopez thing I became really curious as to what you might do.:)
Angelsmama, I actually have had that debate with myself about whether my voting for her was helping to subject her to a situation that she was made fun of and subjected to criticism. I was concerned about that when I first started hearing rumors of her on Dancing. I also debated with myself about not voting for her so that she could go home and Jon would drop his suit, but I decided that as long as Kate and Tony ask for my votes I will give them to them. I decided that Kate must have had access to sound advice and knew the pitfalls coming into this and has decided that it is worth it for her. It hurts me when she is picked on, but I am soo proud of her for chugging along on somthing where I probably would have run away. This is my first season ever watching DWTS and Kate is the first person I have ever voted for on a show. I used to watch Jon and Kate Plus Eight and my mom would watch if she liked what they were doing or she watched DWTS in the other room, but not regularly.
ReplyDeleteDear TLC,
ReplyDeleteI've heard thru the grapevine that you may be hiring poster's to promote Kate on different sites on the net. Although I think Baby Mama should get first dibs as a reward for all her hard work. I'd like to apply for a part-time position. Saying nice things on the internet about a hard-working great mom sounds like a sweet gig to me. Working flexible hours from home would be great, I will travel if needed, but not to much. I have nosy-neighbour who may accuse me of being an absentee mom. She does not think I need to work because I should be happy with the $ I have and not worry about the future. I'm sure there must be plenty of room for advancement in a company that rules North America. Hope to hear from ya soon xo Momsby ;)
Fingers crossed everybody that TLC head-hunts here. Momsby needs a kitchen reno & I'd love to be able to show my husband that blogging about people I don't know is not odd.:)
ReplyDeleteI just saw the sweetest clip with Niecy and Kate on the Insider, it is soo totally sweet. I need to find the whole episode because I missed it. I also tweeted it on my twiter, but I don't know how to post a link to it here..
ReplyDeleteMomsby... that is too funny! My husband feels the same way.:)
ReplyDeleteMomsby that is soo cute.
ReplyDeleteMomsby - you are so funny. You made a bummer of a day a whole lot brighter. Thanks for making us laugh!
ReplyDeleteOff topic to Schmecky - I think we both like mysteries. Just finished Shadow of Your Smile by Mary Higgins Clark. Save your money and wait for discount or read library copy. I think it's better than her last one, but very predictible. Set in NY for most part so some interest/familiarity there. Worth reading IMO but not full price.
ReplyDelete-------
I laud Jon for getting a nearby apartment in PA. Regardless of his reasons, and I'm not second guessing him, it has got to be reassuring to kids to have him closer by.
I was sad to see TMZ make fun tonight of his hair and looks. It felt to me that they were almost baiting him. It was refreshing to hear him say No Comment, regardless of the reason.
Good grief. I've been off-line so long (due to relocation) that even my bank thinks my e-mail account doesn't exist. So many calls to make and catching up to do. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED WITH KATE! I have managed to continue to vote for her on DWTS. This whole custody thing with J is just to keep himself going. He is more interested in satisfying himself than any interest in his children.
ReplyDeleteThanks Baby Mama for all the clips so I can play catch-up. Would like to know why you had to delete a day's worth of posts. But I guess I'll never know.
You rock for keeping this site up and running...
: )
I am glad to hear that jon is getting a place close by. He needs to be close to his kids, they need to have that security and love coming from him. Good for him!
ReplyDeleteLinda,
ReplyDeleteI was hoping to make you smile most of all!:)
Hang tough you rock!!!
Anybody here go to the book signing?
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Ladies! Sorry about that nasty fly buzzing in, I got the fly swatter handy!
ReplyDeleteFinally won at Bingo. Been going once a month for the longest time. More younger people are getting into it. Between that, the bowling & the scrapbooking I am above my limit on activites!
Has anyone heard about the book signing? It wasnt advertised because it was a last minute thing. Then on my main page my sidebar went to the bottom after I tried ot play with it. Now I can't fix it. I feel bad I got the word out so late! Plus not a sinlge thing about it on the news. Normally something like this would be huge. I hope it wasn't my fault I didn't get the word out so quickly?
Set in the Cleft: Very well stated post--thank you for writing that and sharing. One of the things that I admire most about Kate is the fact that she has not allowed her feelings towards Jon to come between him and the kids. She could very easily have turned the divorce into an ugly, drawn out court battle, especially by bringing up the girlfriends yet she has not. My husband had to deal with the exact situation you described with his 1st wife during their divorce--she thought she knew what was best for their child and tried everything in her power to keep him from their child. After multiple court dates where nothing was enforced against his ex, my husband had to give up his custody fight and now hasn't seen the child in many years. Very sad situation and true that only the child loses.
ReplyDeleteOn another note, did anyone else see Part 2 of Access Hollywood's interview with Kate? It ran last night and then again this morning. Kate was talking about losing a 7th baby and they showed a video clip of a preemie(not sure who)--I thought in Multiple Blessings that Kate said they initially saw 7 babies on the ultrasound but then realized it was 6. From the way she spoke in this interview, it sounded as if she had given birth to 7--she even said she mentions this baby in her letter to Alexis in the new book. I'm just curious because I've never heard her or Jon speak so publicly about this before.
Baby Mama: Tony tweeted with a smile that he was going to the book signing! So sweet of him.
ReplyDeleteAww cool! I gotta look at that. When he says sweet thing I always like to re-Tweet it. Im so pissed I'm not in CA! Tony is soo cute I want to meet him!
ReplyDeleteTwist of Kate needs to come to my house. Teach me how to raise my kids. She will think it's a breeze I'm sure. I mean, the woman had 8!
Aww see I really like to read his Twwets now and re-tweet a few.. I always had a bit of a crush on Tony. I'm so mad I'm not in CA! I would have loved to meet him.
ReplyDeleteTwist of Kate needs to film at my house. Kate will of course think it's a breeze because she had 8 kids..But I stress out at my husband when I got wind they were up when I got home. I'm fustrated that if you wan't something done right you have to do it yourself. after Twist of Kate she should replace The Super Nanny..Could you imagine..lol
Baby Mama,
ReplyDeleteHope you won BIG at bingo! Maybe you can treat yourself to some nice open toed heels...
The way I remember it from both Multiple Blessings and their first special, they found out about losing the baby on a trip to the emergency room, Christmas eve, and that was when they realized that they really wanted the babies and could handle six. She even called it their Christmas miracle. I am surprised though at that stage of pregnancy that they would know if it was a boy or a girl.
ReplyDeleteUhh not that big. Maybe a sale at Macys but not Kate Gosselin Cole Haan Wedges. Hey, for the $200 I won I put out three times that! But I really enjoy going out and its only 3 times a month I am out for my activites. Im a mom the rest of the time. My husband does poker twice a month and he loses for that soo.. Lets just say we all need our days out.
ReplyDeleteMy baby who is now almost turning 2 got ahold of my scrapbooking glitter dust and rubbed it all over the couch. I found that little gem when I got home. I don't understand how he lets them get away with murder. Thats why I need all these nights out.
Linda that you so much sweetie for expaling to me how I can fix my Blogger problem. I play with this site too much and I wind up messing the template up. Hey I want to be different, step away from the pack and I wond up shooting myself in the foot!
Here's what I'm pissed about. They decided to do this book signing at the last minute. Now if nobody showed up, the trolls will blame it on the fact that everyone hates her. When in fact they only contacted me, and my site what a hot tranny mess (Chisitan Siriano quote) for the past 24 hours. I would hate to be the one that ruined it for her. Why didn't they advertise it anywhere else except the front door of Barnes & Noble..what the heck??
ReplyDeleteFYI: Funny how this info was advertised on GWOP. Read here much people?? ;)
I seriously doubt that nobody showed up, they might have been wanting a smaller more controlled signing and thus the lack of advertising. The trolls will pick apart anything Kate does, if she gets a huge crowd, they will carry on about her being a diva and being away from the kids and craving the attention on her. If she does no signing, they'll say it was because her book it horrible, so it really doesn't matter, but I think there will be more people than we think. I just wish I lived there so I could go, I don't think they will schedule any signings out here.
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if this is going to be a huge book tour like the last one, or just a few places, or manybe even nothing. Even if she gets booted off now and I hope she doesn't, when will they start filming the new show? Honestly I really just want to see the Kate Plus 8 specials. Seeing the kids having fun again and doing cool things my kids love to watch is what I'm looking forward to the most.
ReplyDeleteHey, she's spending time with her kids right? Can't get attacked for that right? No, people will find anything to attack her on.
Tashapork,
ReplyDeleteI think your approach makes sense. Kate and Tony hopefully will let the voters know what they want. I remember one season, Jerry Springer, who had a huge fan base, actually began to plead with his fans to stop voting for him. (He was not a good dancer and knew it.) He had met his personal goal and was ready to leave.
Momsby,
How funny about your husband! I very rarely comment but my husband still thinks its odd that I READ this blog! lol
Just wanted to say Kate was amazing on Jay Leno. Her facial expressions were priceless!
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama you said, “Regardless of any person’s feelings about Kate, the fact is this: Jon was gone for a month. When Kate went to do this show, he all of the sudden had free time (kicked out of his girlfriends house) and wanted to be with the kids. I feel that Kate has given him ample time to enjoy time with his kids. I don't in any way agree that they should share the home at this point…” I totally agree.
ReplyDeleteThis post got me thinking…Jon, for whatever “hotly debated" reason, has not been the primary caregiver of his children since shortly after he and Kate moved to the larger house. Kate and the children’s nannies have been their primary care providers. Whether or not Kate was the one who told him it was okay to date or not, only Jon can be blamed for making the decision that it was okay to go out into his local area and hang out in various bars and clubs –which of course landed him in all the tabloids.
Jon's decision to live the lifestyle of a single man, even taking into consideration whether or not there was discussion or papers signed between Jon and Kate to pretend for the public and cameras that their marriage was not over, turned out to be a huge mistake. At that time he was still legally married to Kate. Due to the popularity of J&K + 8, Jon had to have been aware that he was no longer a private citizen. I am convinced that there are only three reasons why Jon would have behaved this way. Either he was very angry at Kate for ending the marriage and wanted revenge, he truly is an idiot, or his psyche is that of a teenager trapped in the body of middle aged man. The last time I checked, docility and stupidity are not legal defenses.
It is not Kate’s nor the media’s fault that Jon is perceived so negatively. In today’s climate of information access, neither Kate nor the media can “spin” forever to make Jon look bad. They cannot speak of or report on things that are not verifiably true for very long without it being discovered. For those who believe that Kate is lying or evading the truth regarding her need to earn a living, the money that her and Jon earned from J&K +8/their two books, and their speaking engagements at various venues in 2007/2008/2009, the money she is receiving from Jon in the form of monthly child support, TLC’s payments to her, and her recent earnings for interviews, DWTS, two shows, and book – fear not, the truth will come out. There is very little in today’s society that remains private. If Kate is deceiving us, we will know soon enough.
Even if one believes that there was/is some vast “conspiracy” out to make Jon look bad, all Jon would have had to do in response would be to act like a normal, 30+ year-old citizen and father of eight. However, both he and Kate somewhere along the way decided that they wanted to be “stars." Neither he nor Kate have, outside of a reality TV, acting, singing or dancing (sorry) talent. They were popular because they were the parents of twins and sextuplets. Somehow Kate has parlayed this notoriety into other jobs besides the old J&K +8 show. Jon has not.
Jon needs to grow-up. I will say it again; Jon needs to grow-up. He must stop blaming others for his mistakes, i.e. marrying Kate and marrying so young, having too many children before he was ready to be a father, and not obtaining an education.
Sorry for such a long post. I started writing and it couldn’t stop… Best to all, Lancy’s Mom
What a great post. It made me think about the reasons for being so fustrated with Jon. And I iwll be honest. If Jon was my husband I would not be so kind to spare him my thoughts in public. If I was Kate I would never be as kind. But I guess I always hoped that things would change. That even though this family is broken, they could still co-parent. I get fustrated because one minute he's saying one thing in the media, like how supportive he is of Kate. Next he gets a new lawyer, tires to take custody of the kids, and tries to remove his child support just because she makes more money now then him.
ReplyDeleteNobody at least for me is telling him to take his but out and work. What I want is for him not to go through his rotating list of laywers and stop bashing his ex-wife in public. Mean what you say and find the best co-parenting situation for your kids. I still hope that one day I could blog positively about the both of them. So even thought it will be "Kate Plus 8" soon, this site will hopefully always be "Jon & Kate Plus 8". I have hope for him yet!
Loved Kates hair on leno!!
ReplyDeleteangelsmama~ Welcome! Your husband thinks it's odd you read my blog? Why? I will try to not take that personally! lol
ReplyDeleteyou need to post here more often :)
Leslie, I liked it too. But it's one step away from from looking like my girl Kim from The Real Houswives of Atlanta. Honestly I'm just jealous I can't get my hair like that unless I pay big bucks at a salon. Thats big bucks hair!
ReplyDeleteBM LOL yeah definately big bucks hair =)
ReplyDeleteMy husband also thinks its funny that I read this blog. He does not understand that I invested time into watching this family and that watching Kate juggle multiples helped me know that I could do it with just 1. I am sometimes the same way with things he looks at so turn abouts fair play i guess =)
Don't feel so bad, my husband doesn't get it either. But he's cool enough to know that it gives me an outlet to discuss things with people I feel strongly about. So as long as I don't drive him crazy with the "tap tap tap" on the computer at night, and he doesn't both me with the occasional snoring, then it's all good ;)
ReplyDeleteI read here everyday but have never posted. I enjoy your support and discussion of Kate and family and your updates. I just wanted to let you know that there was an ad in the Times yesterday announcing the book signing which I'm sure brought lots of people out to see her.
ReplyDeleteThanks
I just started on this blog a few days ago. I LOVE it! There are so many haters out there, this is refreshing!
ReplyDeleteMy feelings of Kate: I remember being in a motel room a few years ago, and watching the discovery channel, and the very show of J&K was on. I was instantly amazed with the family.
Since then, I watched the show. Kate has inspired me so much! Loved the Valentines show, where everything she did that day, revolved around hearts. Loved her organization. People critized her about it, but she had to be to make sure nothing got overlooked.
She has been through so much, and it touches my heart to see that she can now have a true smile on her face.
People judge her, but they don't know her. I admire her. She has been blasted from fans, exhusband, and even her brother, but she stands strong! What an example for us all!
co~ thanks so much for sharing! Have you seen anything on line yet? Im looking to read a review here in NY. Glad to know there was a write up of some sort.
ReplyDeletebrent_chris~ Welcome! I have gotten the chance to meet so many new people this week. I'm glad to see you are posting and hope you contiune to do so!
radaronline has news of the book signing
ReplyDeletehttp://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010/04/photos-behind-scenes-diva-kate-gosselins-la-book-signing
Ugh how incredibly depressing. Could someone explain how Kate is a diva if she takes a break 30 minutes into a book signing? What if she had to go to the bathroom. Im sad to hear more people couldnt make it, but to call her a diva is feeding into the haters! Im going to use this for my new post later tonight. Thanks!

I'd like to play devil's advocate here regarding Jon......We truly do not know how conversations go between Kate and Jon. Kate could very well have been keeping Jon from the kids all this time. He could have been with his girlfriends, calling his kids at night, and asking Kate about his schedule with the kids. She could have been refusing and stating no because of her schedules. We just don't know the real truth. If she was denying him, that could be why he filed for changes with the
ReplyDeletecourt.
Ultimately we do not know what has transpired.
I need to look at it from all angles.
Stop the presses...a woman who had 8 kids had to pee.......DUH....WOW, What a diva!
ReplyDeleteShe also probably took a break because there were no more fans at that time.
ReplyDeleteIf more fans had come, she probably would have stayed.
Talk about making assumptions about a break. Geesh.
And why doesn't the article mention that it was a last minute addition to the book signing schedule??
ReplyDeleteWe all know I am a big Kate fan, that being said, I do actually think she might be a tid bit demanding. But...BUT, who cares, I aint mad at her! A diva? I'm not sure about that. This is what she wanted and she got it!
ReplyDeleteTigger fan - re: Devils Advocate! I agree totally. You said exactly what I have been thinking every time someone says Jon was gone a month or more. The rumors had it that Kate said the kids were better off with nannies. Those kind of statements get my dander up! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI didn't want to post anymore negative things, since there was so much going on here at this site. I am glad you stated that!
Tiggerfan... I also agree. It seems silly to think that anyone outside of their homes or circle could possibly know the intimate details of their conversations, arguments, tantrums and irrational moments. People assume too much to believe that Jon is entirely in the wrong all the time (he just doesn't help himself!) and that's no different that the jealous haters who believe that they know Kate's motives so well.
ReplyDeleteAs for my following of this blog, my husband probably doesn't even know and would shake his head if he knew the time I took to read the posts as well as all the comments. I even feel guilty and silly myself sometimes... haha! I have NEVER felt the need to know the happenings of any famous person!
TF & SITC,
ReplyDeleteI agree there is alway's two sides to every-storey..and people are guilty of assuming they know way to much!(myself included).
I have never felt the need to know what was going on with a famous person either. I enjoyed the show, appreciated the family flaws and all. So now I feel a little bit protective of them. Maybe because they were not actor's playing a role, but a real family living their life?
Set in the Cleft, boy do I agree with you about having never felt the need to follow any famous person before. Other than Niecy Nash and the astronaut, I didn't even know who the other dancers were. I still don't know why Pamela Anderson is so famous. I watched Jon and Kate from the first episode and loved them and the sweet kids. Kate is a funny combination of my quirks, the kind of person and mother I would like to be and just human. I got very attached over time and I care about them not as celebrities, but as people. I cried for them during the divorce and was soo glad I could come over here to talk.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama,
ReplyDeleteDon't take it personally that my husband thinks it strange that I read your blog. He just never got the whole J&K+8 thing to begin with. He found it annoying that they had a TV show and got all those freebies just because they had a bunch of kids. He is even more annoyed by the Duggars! So when the show was canceled and he found out I was reading a blog about this family he just smiled and shook his head.
I try to explain to him that just as he doesn't understand my interest, I don't understand how he can yell like a crazy man at a bunch of baseball players on a TV screen! (Whom, btw, I feel make a ridiculous amount of money!) I usually stop and remind him, "You do realize they can't here you, don't you?" My husband shakes his head at me a lot. ;)
Still, I do cut him some slack since he did buy me both Kate's and the Duggars' books last Mother's Day. :)
Angelsmama, that is sweet of him to buy you those really great books. I have grown to really like the Duggars too, I could not live their life but I admire all of the love they have for each other. I don't think men like discussing and rehashing like women do. I can even see it inTony's eyes that he'd like to get over the drama and discusssion and dance.
ReplyDeleteDuring the legal seperation, they had an arrangement worked out for visitation. But, with the nastiness of the divorce, I can not believe for a second that the judge or arbitrator did not have a set visitation schedule. I am sure they did. Kate would not be able to disregard the visitation or deny Jon from seeing the children. Jon takes every chance to be in the news, so if Kate ever denied him his visitation, then you can bet we all would have heard about it. So saying, "Jon was gone for over a month, with his next 20ish girlfriend", IMO is not to off base. Yes, he might have been calling his children every night, but not seeing them for over a month is selfish on his part. I know if they were my children, nothing would stop me.
ReplyDeleteNow, she is on DWTS for 10 weeks (usually gone 3 out of 7 days) and all of a sudden she is called an "absentee mom". I wish Jon did this for good reasons, but remember this is the same man that went on national TV and said he despised his children's mother. Said some little drunken party chick was his sole mate and he loves her more than he ever loved Kate. Lied about taking the money out of the bank. Also, he is the one who has made his rounds telling every media outlet, he was married at this age, had 8 kids by this age, and he missed is entire 20s having to be a dad. Oh yes, he is a real winner.
So sorry, but Jon has to do way more than rent an apartment, to make me believe in him again. Actions speak louder than words and his actions are very shady.
On a lighter note. I thought the Jay Leno Show rocked. She looked great, was funny, and she seemed to have a good time.
Momsby,
ReplyDeleteI loved your TLC post and your sense of humor. You gave me a good laugh for the day. So, if they call you and you need a side kick, I am here for you. LOL:)
angelsmama..
ReplyDeleteI think our husband's may have been separated at birth. Ditto the above post, except my DH did not care for the show because "We have 3 crying kids of our own to listen to why would you want to listen to somebody else's 8 crying kids?". Although sometimes he will say are you pulling a Kate now?(He's a terrible tease) my mom got my daughter the DVD's so it does sometimes get overplayed. I guess he see's enough reality in his job, and he's really not that interested in anybody's gossip. All though, he's dying of curiosity about what I'm writing, I told him to MYOB. I already get way to much teasing about my FB page. When he joins the fan page he can read it.;0
Sadly, Shelly no offers yet...
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to not watch because she didn't want to watch changing diapers and crying kids, she had enough of that growing up, then she started liking it as the kids got older and they started going intersting places. Now she has grown to really appreciate how independent and strong Kate has gotten after the divorce. Other relatives, I dare not mention anything or I get an unwanted earful and the sad thing is those people know nothing of what they are talking about.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama and other iPhone users: did you know there is a TLC app? If do have you tried it? I don't know how long its been around but just saw it advertised.
ReplyDeleteWell if it is confession time, I have been following this blog for just over one year. My husband kept encouraging me to post because I would vent to him my thoughts. I finally a) figured out how, and b) got the courage to do it. Now he keeps bugging me, "did anyone respond to your posts," "what do the others have to say now," and "what is the news today." I think he is interested in what we discuss too and since I blogged and don't vent to him as much, he is feeling out of the loop.
ReplyDeleteShelly I have to agree with you on the whole Jon not seeing his kids for ever. You made some very valid points! I have been thinking those same things. Thanks for voicing it!!!
ReplyDeleteFascinated: HAHAHA I love that! It would be fun if my husband got into this =) I love reading the comments, and knowing what is happening.
ReplyDeleteGood evening everyone! I'm so busy with my family being over for my daughter's birthday party. I will be on more tonight!
ReplyDeleteLinda~ wanted to give you the link for the free IPhone app..so great to speak to you!

ReplyDelete"I don't think men like discussing and rehashing like women do."
----------------------------------------------
You are so right, my BF and I can talk for an hour on the phone about all of the things going on in our lives and have a wonderful relationship. My husband and his BF talk for 20 minutes about baseball, feel like they've bonded emotionally, and have a wonderful relationship. Mars and Venus.lol
Speaking of Mars and Venus. Because men and women are so very different, it's even more important that we look for a partner that is as in sinc with our own values and personality traits as possible. There were so many red flags that Jon and Kate weren't compatible and unfortunately they missed them.
Momsby,
Its funny that you said your husband teases you about "pulling a Kate". It reminded me of my neighbor who warns her kids when they're misbehaving,"Do you want me to get all 'Jon and Kate' on you?" They stop whatever they're doing cold!
Leslie- Thank you. I try so hard not to be negative, but I get tired of the whole Jon thing and "there are two sides to the story." Jon played his entire sorted story in front of the media, so I am not sure why anyone would second guess the visitation deal. No one heard Jon complaining about Kate working when he was running around in Utah, California, and Hawaii with his 3rd or 4th 20ish girlfriend. So, IMO he now is whining because he has no where to go, no money, not an ounce of respect left, and he is 100% jealous of Kate.
ReplyDeleteSince we are all talking about our hubbies. My hubby has gotten in the whole watching DWTS and cheering for Kate, right along side me. He also asks about my gossip sessions with my blogger friends. He is disgusted about Jon and does not understand why any man would do that. Oh, and believe me, I have a very similar personality as Kate. All my ducks have to be in a row, or I am a grouch. LOL:)
Shelly - You are entitled to put Jon down based on past behavior and everyone here is harboring hard feeling about him going to court with a motion to get his custody time. I see it like this, if he wasn't denied his time, he wouldn't have had to file a motion. Granted though, calling Kate an absentee Mom is totally rediculous. He should have just kept it in court. I also like to see changes in his behavior, which I feel is coming. Moving in to the vicinity of the children is his first step to change, so lets just see what happen.
ReplyDeleteI think you are all so cute with the talk about your. husbands. My dugther told me that I have aproblem because I read this and blog sometimes on here. OMG, she doesn't know that her words hurt my feelings.
ReplyDeleteShelly,
ReplyDeleteI understand the not-trying to be negative thing. I think I get too defensive about Kate sometimes lol. Ever since watching Jon and Kate Plus 8 for the first time I never understood the hate towards Kate. I guess I enjoyed the show and never tried to overanalyze it. I looked at it as two parents raising two kids according to their beliefs. Did it bother me if they put two kids in the bottom part of the shopping cart? No, because they are not my kids.
I finished Kate's book. I wanted to address whoever asked about the 7th baby. They didn't know the gender of the baby because it was early on in the pregnancy, but I guess Kate and Alexis decided it was a girl and she was in heaven. Alexis and Kate decided her name would have been either "Emma Rose" or "Ella Rose." After reading that part in the book I never realized how much they thought about that seventh fetus, because on the show and in Multiple Blessings it didn't seem like if affected them that much. It was a good book, I liked it maybe slightly more than I liked Multiple Blessings. I always enjoy the pictures! So cute!
#1caregiver...
ReplyDeleteMaybe if your daughter knew that it is more than just a fan site she would understand better? I look at it as a way to interact with women who have many different perspectives& life experience's. I'm actually learning things about myself & I'm enjoying the healthy debate. It helps that BM always has great scoops on the G's, and that appeals to my nosy side. I'm a SAHM & my DH works shift work & we just moved. So, some day's this is the only adult interaction I get. You should tell your daughter she hurt your feelings, When I hurt my mom's feelings I like to know so I don't do it again &vice versa.
Mignonne, I haven't gotten the new book yet, its in the mail, I thought it might come today, hopefully it will come on Monday, but I was rereading Multiple Blessings last night and it did say that she and Jon felt stronly that whether moments after conception or after birth that life was precious and that it was a real person. She was talking about selective reduction, but I think that is where it comes from. They are sweet.
ReplyDeleteThank you Momsby, sometimes its easier to talk her , and I know that sounds nuts. I always hate to start debates with my ground children because I am so set in my ways and OP that I don't want hurt feelings. I will try harder next time. Thanks for listening.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to know what to think and believe but I am going by a few things that I think are significant:
ReplyDelete1) On the show, in the last season, Jon said he was not happy being a stay at home Dad - that a man needed something else. Now he wants to be a stay at home Dad and one has to wonder if it has to do with a lack of options. Why isn't he out there figuring out how to support the kids?
2) Jon has not had only one relationship since the divorce but gone through a serious of girls - at least two presenting a choice of living close to the kids or relatively distant. I can understand Kate being cautious if she is afraid Jon will be gone again as soon as the next girlfriend comes along.
3) If Kate has as much control as Jon claims now in terms of visitation, why did Jon agree to those terms? Was it because he didn't care at the time?
I saw Evan Lysacek tonight in the Stars On Ice show on Long Island--what a treat! He also tweeted late last night that he was on the bus leaving Reading, PA and heading to NY. So it got me thinking about cute it would have been for the kids to see the show in Reading. I know Kate was in CA but if Jon had custody and he and Kate could have worked something out he could have taken the kids. I know that's probably not possible right now so I was just sad thinking about it. I really hope J & K can get to a point where they are amicably working together to provide enjoyable experiences for the kids.
ReplyDeleteMomsby, I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said about this being more than a fansite, etc. I think it was about a year ago that I first came her(actually it was the other site babymama had, I used to read and enjoy because before when I searched, I only found garbage like gwop, and I didn't figure out how or get the guts to comment anything until around the time that they had the cops to the house which I think was in August and it's been great. I miss people when I don't see them on here for awhile.
ReplyDeleteHeatherAV, I often feel the same way about wanting Jon and Kate's relationship to get to that point for the kids, so perhaps they could take them to Disneyworld, separate hotel rooms and such, but take them as parents. I know its just a dream.
Amen Par: perfectly said. He never seemed to have a problem with anything before or else there would have already been a custody battle. I was so mad knowing that he was here in Utah hitting up park city for skiing and things. He needs to figure out what he wants in life. I don't think he is there yet, I feel like some of the things he is doing right now is to try to get back on TLC and try to have a job that way. I feel like that is why he has not been so crazy lately and I feel like that is partially why he wants the custody of the children. Trust me I hope I am wrong, but i just get the feeling like he is not done playing his little games.
ReplyDeleteI just went to a site because the admin went to see Kate at the book signing last night. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. They actually made GWOP look classy, YIKES, I had to come back to a happy place as not to have nightmares. Deep breathe...ahhh much better. Night ladies Linda I'm still thinking of you:)
ReplyDeleteMomsby,
ReplyDeleteIs that the person who blogged that she went up to Kate and was escorted away by Steve? If so, I think she got what she deserved asking Kate a hostile question about parenting by texting her kids and then saying something about child labor laws. She went to the signing to call Kate put - what a surprise that she wasn't accomodated.
Momsby - thank you. Warm thoughts and prayers mean a lot right now. And thank you also to others, and Baby Mama, with calls, online notes etc. Most appreciated.
ReplyDeleteSome of you who have posted in the last week have noted it was your first time posting. Some have said you read for s long time before you got the courage to post. I, for one, can certainly identify with you.
ReplyDeleteI read Baby Mama's blog for a long time, on the other blog she had, and never posted until one day I just couldn't wait any longer to put in my two cents worth. This is more than a blog. It's similar in some ways to family in that you don't always see eye to eye in your views, but you appreciate the diversity in many ways.
For those of you who are long time readers, you know that Schmecky and I often do not see things from the same perspective, but I whole-heartedly respect her. She doesn't post blindly but endeavors to cite sources. She tries hard to go back to the "original" and see what they say. From my personal perspective, and my background I applaud and laud that. (Schmecky I'm just using you as an example.)
Am I perfect? Heavens no! I've posted my faults on here more than once. I've often tried to say that our own history colors our perspective. That is the way humans are. Am I wrong sometimes? You bet. And, if you cite those souces, and I check and find that out, what happens? I try to do the adult thing, come back and post an apology and tell you that you were right.
Do I agree with the Gosselins 100%? I support the Gosselin children and that support is unconditional.
Do I approve of the way Kate talked to Jon? Absolutely not at the time. Do I understand her frustration? Yes. There is no delete or rewind in real life. She has publically apologized, on TV, in print, etc etc. If you've never spoken to your spouse sharply then I want to meet you! Better yet get that book written, it will be a best seller!
Do I approve of Jon? That is stickier to explain. I came to think he was one of the super Dads! I defended him at all turns. I was so heart weary with his behavior. IMO, Jon hit midlife crisis younger than many. I don't feel his behavior has improved much, yet, but he's taken a step in getting living space closer to his children. Real, or not, his past behavior at the time if the show was what I loved. His behavior since the separation is reprehensible. But I think in his heart of hearts he loves his children. I want him to take the steps toward becoming a responsible adult: respect for himself would be a good start.
Yes, this is a special place. Baby Mama I thank you. I also thank you for putting the moderation back in place. Your pooper scooper and fly swatter must be enormous!
I was trying to say that I became heart weary with Jon's behavior and the split. I also was trying to say that I want him to take steps, and the first one was getting living space near his children.
ReplyDeletePar,
ReplyDeleteYes that's the "lady" in question. If Steve did herd her out, that is his job. Protecting Kate from the hostiles & crazies. I think she may have been fibbing for the attention though. Although, she claims to be a child advocate she mostly just snarks on what Kate wears, her physical appearence and shopping habits. They also say some pretty vile things about anyone who has a nice thing to say about Kate. We all know bullies who love to trash talk people behind their backs & then don't have the guts to say it to their face. Bullies are usually very insecure & cowards only able to make themselves feel good by putting down others. If it happened why was ROL not all over it? I suspect she may be embellishing to look cool to her mean girl pals. Regardless, she bought the book, maybe Kate will think of her on her next trip to Star Bucks.:) P.S. I do believe that ALL reality tv children should have protective measures in place. It annoys me when people use it as a front for being petty ,jealous, and cruel.
Baby Mama,
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've been reading I think maybe they wanted it to be a smaller gathering for Friday night. It sounds like it may have been a dry run & an opportunity to film. Maybe, that explains the short notice. Regardless, how nice for the fans that did go to not have to wait for hours. The next one will be bigger I'm sure!
Good morning everyone! Momsby I really hope that what your saying is the case. It doesn't bother me anymore what the trolls snark about at this point. I feel for Kate that Sundays must be so incredibly stressful for her now. I know that on Mondays it's mostly hair & makeup, and they all don't get that much practice time in.
ReplyDeleteToday I will be in and out, but when the baby goes down for her nap, I will adding a new post today.
There is a post at inStyle about Kate's hairstyle transformations (just 5 photos). They started with one where Kate appeared IMO about 6th grade with glasses no less! I wish they'd also included a photo of her at time of wedding (long hair & fabulous looking), and one of her just after she had the tups (short & Kate looking exhausted).
ReplyDeleteThe link is: http://shine.yahoo.com/channel/beauty/kate-gosselins-transformation-1262252/;_ylt=AkimQ3oPABpaePdWnQusruNhbqU5#photoViewer=1
If that link doesn't work, I first saw it on yahoo and then tried to follow the links to the source.
In reference to my post about Kate's photo with glasses:
ReplyDeleteI was also IMO the nerdy looking kid in 6th grade who had glasses. I wanted contact lenses so badly. I think my parents might have bought them to hear me stop pleading, but my eye doctor recommended that I earn the money to pay for first pair. He felt that earning the money, I'd be more responsible about wear and care, etc.
Did it make me gorgeous? Probably not, lol. It sure helped my self confidence about my appearance go up about 100% though. It didn't turn me into a swan, but I sure as heck didn't feel like the ugly duckling any more. There's nothing wrong with wearing glasses. It's the teasing from other kids that is wrong.
IMO, it just made me wonder if Kate felt any of that also.
Linda, As always you say it better than I ever could.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could trust Jon's motives but having a place close to the children is an important step.
I am looking forward to Monday night and I hope Kate is as good as last week. It must be tremendously difficult to juggle all the emotions of family and television. Kudos to Kate.
We believe!
I was wondering if anyone has read Kate's new book? I am dying to get it, but have to wait for it to come out in walmart. Right now, it's only online around here.
ReplyDeletebrent_chris
ReplyDeleteI read the book - got it for my Kindle when it came out because of the negativity surrounding it.
I felt alot of the exerpts used to criticize Kate were taken out of context. There was nothing in the book that would bother the kids now or in the future. She in no way says anything all that personal about there reactions to the divorce.
She tells stories including Jon and they are all complementary. She acknowledges her roll in causing problems in the marriage.
All in all, a good book worth reading.
What is that about, JW? You are seriously looking for trouble, it seems.
ReplyDeleteThanks Baby Mama for all that you do.
ReplyDeleteI tried to skim the comments - did anyone watch SNL last night? Once they parody you, you are a star! I know they did Kate before played by Taylor Swift but she was briefly parodeed last night:

Here is the clip of just that sketch:

No I am not offended, Jewish accountants crack me up even though I am Jewish ;-)
Sometimes one needs a strong constitution. I have always admired those who try hard to do the right thing.
ReplyDeleteI was taught by my loving parents to pray for your friends and pray harder for your enemies. Sometimes that's really, really hard to do and some days are harder than others, lol.
Linda,
ReplyDeleteI think you are a true lady, your kind heart shows in every post! I just wish there was more I could do to help you, with this problem. Sending you & your family my best wishes.
Linda, one of my favorite sayings is "love inspite of all reason to hate."
ReplyDeleteI can't remember where I read it or heard it.
snl sketch is funny!
ReplyDeleteLinda - well said. :)
ReplyDeleteOne thing that always surprises me about the back and forth over 'kate' fans or 'Jon' fans is this:
When MOST couples divorce - it's unfortunate - but most people take a 'side'. You lose 'friends' when you divorce. I don't think the 'fans' have reacted any differently. Some stayed with Kate - others stayed with Jon. For many - that's all it really is.
