Hitting the road alongside one another, Kate Gosselin and Steve Neild were spotted making their way to New York City, New York on Monday (August 23). Departing from Reading, Pennsylvania, the TLC reality star mom and her bodyguard pal stopped by Dunkin' Donuts for a coffee pick-me-up before making the drive to the Big Apple's ritzy Essex House Hotel. The trip comes as Kate and Steve continue to battle rumors that they are having an affair - which the NYC adventure surely won't help calm down. (FYI: She is prepping for the Emmy's)
Meanwhile, Kate has been readying for a big upcoming weekend - during which time she's scheduled to display her “not-so-serious side” alongside host Jimmy Fallon at the start of the Primetime Emmy Awards telecast on Sunday, August 29th.
Your New Wardrobe Looks Tarty! Isn’t This Too Racy For A Mom?: Hollywoodlife.com
Here’s the question – when we give birth or adopt, do we also take on an obligation to dress with more decorum than before we had little ones who should be looking up to us as role models? And does that mean we ditch the minis, short shorts, halter-tops and heels? Are plunging necklines still OK, but only for a night out on the town? These are questions I can’t help ponder when I look at Kate Gosselin’s latest get-ups. It’s not that the individual fashion items are objectionable on their own, but it’s the combination – high heels plus loads of leg, lots of bare skin on top and then long, bleached blonde hair. It all adds up to a look that just doesn’t reassuringly say “mom,” especially for a woman who sets herself up as a role model for other moms. She’s not just the star of Kate Plus 8, she’s also the author of advice-giving books, Multiple Blessings: Surviving to Thriving with Twins and Sextuplets, Eight Little Faces: A Mom’s Journey and I Just Want You To Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family.
On the other hand, Yalof applauds Kate as a mom of eight for not just wearing scrubs all day.“It’s amazing, she’s putting in the effort – it’s better than wearing elasticized pants, baggy t-shirts and flip flops.” OK, those are all good points. However Joanna Douglas, fashion and beauty editor of Shine.com disagrees to a degree. “It wouldn’t be fine for her to dress like this if she was going out at night with friends,” Douglas says. “She’s 35, she’s got a great body and is in good shape but no kids want to get an eyeload of their moms cleavage. … Going out with her kids in the middle of the day like this, just makes her seem attention-hungry.”
Or is she just not being practical? That’s the concern of Susan Crenek GLAMOUR.com’s executive online editor for fashion and beauty. “It’s very difficult to run after and take care of a kid (much less eight) when you’re worried about necklines dipping into scandalous territory,” she says. So what do you think – am I being too harsh to expect Kate to dress in a way that won’t provoke the eww factor from her kids? She has said she’s lonely, and what single mom with the burden of raising eight kids wouldn’t be? She has a right to long for a love partner again. Hey, she’s 35! But are tight, short clothes the right way to telegraph it? Or is Kate right to throw her hands up at me and any other critics and just dress the way she wants – mommy-appropriate or not? Let me know what you think!
I think this idea of Kate dressing too provactively stems from the fact that more revealing dress is soo much more mainstream in society. I even see it in children's clothing. Five year old's clothing looks more like what teenage clothing used to. Also the idea that Christianity dictates clothing standards is at play. Some people like the Duggars have religious beliefs that dictate clothing standards, but not all Christians feel that this way, some feel as I do, that God judges you by your behavior more than your package and what you look like. I do think that this is the first time in Kate's life that she has really had independence with her wardrobe because first her parents and then Jon had a big say in it. I also wonder if she figures that since the paparazzi are following her, she might as well flaunt. I think too some of it could stem from insecurities around Jon's dating 23 year olds. Subconciously she needs to feel attractive. The teenyboppers have nothing on her. Who knows, but what Moms wore 50 years ago is different than what they wore 20 years ago and different than what they are wearing now
ReplyDeleteTashapork - ITA with you. I shop like you do. When I need that special over the top outfit, I take my daughter with me. Honest OP and good taste . Also, she makes a good goffer to run back and forth to get bigger or smaller sizes. Then we can go to lunch! I miss those good old days with her. Now everyone is too busy to take the time! Plus we are all on a budget. LOL
ReplyDeleteGood morning all and sipping a latte with the fresh paper - thsnks Baby Mama. Very good points tashapork. ITA.
ReplyDeleteThe article above is great. Yes, I think she is making a statement for PR purposes, but the wrong one for the kids. I don't think she should be frumpy, but does need the tweaking. So now I will vote.
ReplyDeleteGoing to provide Child Care today and have fun. It's fun to try and operate a Pre-School Program for one child. She's a blast and a half.
Caregiver - Have a great day and lots of fun. Sounds like you enjoy being a grandmother to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama - We're hoping that your youngest slept in her toddler bed last night without an issue. May I suggest that if there is space in her bedroom you have the crib and the toddler bed set up. Sometimes asking them "which do you choose for tonight" can help. My neighbor tried this and given the choice, the child only slept in the crib once more. Just a suggestion. xoxo
ReplyDeleteTashapork...Excellent points I agree!
ReplyDeleteI also think that sometimes we as women can be hard on other women for what they wear...really when you think about it, "Do the clothes make the person?" I like that fashion has evolved so we all have a choice now.
I say wear what your comfortable in & whatever makes you feel good about yourself.
I always laugh when people use the pictures from when the babies were young, as proof of Kates new non-mommy look. GMAB, she had 8 small children, the film crew would have had to film me unshowered & in my pj's alot of the time. Many a day with just a toddler & a baby I did not make it into the shower until afternoon nap!
I wouldn't say that Kate dresses provactively all the time or inappropriately all the time. I do think some outfits are a little too revealing and some are a little too inappropriate for what she is doing. I would say this about anyone, even if it wasn't Kate.
ReplyDeleteI think the outfit she wore with the black and white top that was low cut, showing cleavage and you could see her bra at the cup, was very inappropriate and too provacative. I don't think the cup of your bra should ever be seen. I think there are outfits to be worn around children/family and some that you can wear when you are not around them. I don't own a shirt like she was wearing, but if I did, I would wear it out to a bar when out with my husband. I would never wear something showing that much cleavage around my children.
I think Kate looks best without the high heels and without the short tight skirts. You can still look fun and sexy, but appropriate when with your kids.
Sometimes I feel like she is always trying to put on a show with her looks. She doesn't need to try so hard. She has a gorgous figure. She looks great wearing dresses. Leave the tight skirts and high heels at home. Dress like you can go to the park with your kids (and you can wear a cute summer dress to the park...I do!!)
Kate is trim and is taking care of her body. She does have a "manish" build. She has photographers taking pictures at planned and unexpected moments. She reminds us often that everything is for her children and that she is a mom. All those facts being taken in consideration -- she seems to lack a sense of appropriate. In one photo with the animal print, her right breast is 80% in view -- she is shopping with her kids. Embarassing! Maybe she is so tired of being analyzed and criticized that she just wants to make an "in your face" statement. If we were friends (and, I am older) I would gently tell her that she needs to tone down some of her outfits. Maybe we wouldn't be friends after that conversation....
ReplyDeleteWell IMO, I think that she seems to try harder/ dress up when she is going out in public and she knows that the paps will be taking pictures of her. And who wouldn't? If I knew that pictures of my every move would be plastered all over the internet, I would want to look my best too! :) And Kate can certainly manage to pull it off with her body.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I don't really think that any of the pictures of her in the above article are too revealing, it's just that they may not be the appropriate clothes to wear while running errands. (Like does she really need to wear huge heels while getting haircuts with the kids?)
I know that I'm kinda contradicting myself here... lol! But I can see it both ways.
I won't comment on whether she dresses too young but I do think she dresses too provocatively. She has 5 daughters who are watching her every move. Does she want them to think that a woman must dress "sexily" and expose their breasts to look good?
ReplyDeleteIt will be hard to present the super-mom image in gladiator heels and a mini-skirt (as far as I am concerned). I thought she asked for modest outfits on DWTS?
OH, GOOD GRIEF!! I might just be liberal but it's not like the woman is running around with nipple showing & providing pantyless crotch shots.
ReplyDeleteIf cleavage, showing some leg & heels makes you a poor role model, or a bad mom...there must be alot more bad moms than I think.
I think it’s so funny that people are practically offended that Kate dresses up to run errands. Who cares? I guess I look around at my friends and my family of origin and see that we all have different ideas about clothes. For example, I can’t remember the last time I left the house, even to run errands when I haven’t put on makeup, perfume, jewelry, and a nice outfit. I never wear heels though, even when going out, I am a flats kind of girl. A close friend only owns heels, (well, that can’t be true, I’ve seen her have one pair of flip flops, worn at like 9 months pregnant, and she must own a pair of tennis shoes, I’ve just never seen them).
ReplyDeleteI am probably very conservative in my dress, and yet, I don’t think Kate dresses like a slut. I will say that she can still be young and not wear such short skirts, not from a modesty point of view, but like Clinton and Stacey always say, “no mini skirts after 35”, so if she were to go on What Not To Wear, that’s probably one thing they would say to her.
But mostly, to me , it just looks like she is taking care of herself and taking pride in her appearance. I think that’s a good thing.
tashapork--ITA with you also. I hadn't thought of her possible insecurities with Jon's dating 23 yr olds. And you're right, they have nothing on her.
ReplyDeleteIf she would wear tops with necklines that are a little higher cut, and skirts/shorts that are a bit longer, there wouldn't be much to talk about. She does have a great figure and I can see how it would be fun to wear these clothes just because she can. The gladiator sandals aren't for me but, as a shoe lover (and handbags), it's fun to see what she wears.
CMO3--I hope the first day of school went well.
I would like to send Kate a case of the "stickum" tape that models and celebs use to keep straps, etc. in place. I keep thinking of the "trip to the organic foods store" when she was caught on tape and stills by INF.
ReplyDeleteThere she is, loading many bags of groceries in the trunk, on her knees trying to position the bags, the "helper" from the store pushing the second cart. The questions keep coming, and she clearly just wants to load up and be gone.
(Here in NC the grocery helpers load the car for everybody and are almost offended if you say, "I'll do it myself.") If Kate asks him to load them, she'll be labeled as "Kate demands poor clerk load up the car because she's too much of a diva to do it herself."
The published shots were when she bent over.
Thanks Corrina! I can't believe you remembered that! LOL So far so good. They have a half day (really 2 hours) today and tomorrow is a full day for all of us. I'll be back on my schedule so you will probably see more posting from at night again.
ReplyDeleteWhere does Kate buy her clothes? Why don't we see shots of her shopping other than Target or kids' shoes? I'm wondering if she buys them online. I've ordered many that way that once I tried them on did the "What was I thinking routine?" They fit so differently from the online photo.
ReplyDeleteTalking about shopping - Did anybody catch the new Nordstrom's deal. They are linking all their inventories together, e.g. both the one for the net and the one for each of the stores so that if you find something you like online and the online store is out, it will let you know which store has one left. Then you can order it, and they'll ship it to you. I think that's neat1
Get lost, just wondering! Oh, and get a life too!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen - She is among "Those Who Shall Be Nameless." We're trying to just ignore but it is a bit like when you step in creeple, I mean creepy dog poo. I promise I've used the disinfectant. All better now.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see one photo were I think the breasts are inappropriately revealed. I have no problem with Kate's tops or shorts/skirts. I do not care for her shoes at all but I do not think they are "hooker" shoes.
ReplyDeleteLinda if I were her I'd buy the clothes under some one elses name and have them shipped. Can you imagine the field day that the paps would have if they saw her buying clothes? Or if some one intercepted the package with her name on it? Any person with the paps on their trail I think should do that.

ReplyDeleteangelsmama,
We're the same size! lol.
I can picture the kind of outfit you mean. It's not "frumpy." At least not if I'm picturing what you mean.
------------------------------------------------
(Baby Mama closed the last thread as I responded late last night so I brought this over.)
Schmecky, yes I wear the same kind of fitted t-shirt that your talking about. Can't wear the regular ones since I'm so small. I look like I'm drowning in those! :)
I'm surprised you are the same height. I remember reading your blog when you went to WDW. You look like you're so much taller than me in your pictures!
Speaking of WDW I am sooo envious of you and Baby Mama. I haven't been to WDW since 2007 and won't make it back any time soon. :( We did just take our kids to Disneyland and they were able to experience Club33 for the first time. We had a great time and it will have to hold us for a while.
I hope when you and Baby Mama get back from your trips you will tell us all about it so that I can live vicariously through you! :)
In school I learned some basics I’ve never forgotten:
ReplyDelete1. Journalists are not supposed to become part of the story. (e.g. Report the news, not create the news.)
2. If you have a vested interest in the story, you cannot ethically report on it. (e.g. If you live in a neighborhood, your cannot objectively report on how visitors to the neighborhood are changing it.)
3. Journalists should be honest and never lie to get a story.
I felt so strongly about a reporter’s recent story about BHI that I started questioning it. I too had lived in the area, albeit five years previously. I wondered if attitudes had really changed that much?
I started thinking about a Wilmington Star News (WSN) article I’d read last year. You have read here both last year’s and this year’s articles about the Gosselin visits to BHI. Compare the WSN article and the Huffington Post (HP) article. In the HP article not a single source was cited by name. In the WSN article, every source was cited by name.
Guess what? The ethics for journalists really have not changed from what I’d remembered.
If you want to read more: check here
(SPJ) Code of Ethics
http://www.spj.org/ethicscode.asp
Daniel Schorr (who died in July) was an American journalist for CBS, CNN, and NPR. Reporting for more than 60 years IMO he didn’t compromise his principles in his aggressive reporting. In speaking about rumor and innuendo he had this to say. “…All one can hope is that the press will resist being enlisted as foot soldiers in that slimy war.”
Momsby - I agree with everything you said. I see women much older than Kate that show more of their body. I am saddened by the number of women who judge the way she dresses. I would bet if they were in Kates shoes they to would be dressed up in public. Kate has already explained that she wears heels because they make your legs look thinner. It's obvious she does not care what others think of her attire as she continues to dress the way she wants to.
ReplyDeleteLinda - What a great post. It's just too bad the creeples refuse to believe the story with named sources.
It would be so nice if all journalists had principles like Daniel Schorr!
I am not a big fan of cleavage. I personally think it is inappropriate for daytime. It actually surprised me when Kate started wearing the revealing necklines. I think it looks a bit trashy on her. I don't know why I think that but I do. I think she looks lovely in the rounded necklines and dresses.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I think cleavage is considered fashionable these days. My mother and I watch television together while chatting on the internet. We live in different states. One of our favorite shows to watch together is "Ghost Whisperer". About two years ago we were both kind of taken aback when the main character started showing a ton of cleavage. It just seemed so out of place. It doesn't really seem that out of place anymore. Everywhere you look you can see it.
Your right Adele...it seems in fashion now. Must be why Ghost Whisperer was my dad's favorite show! LOL
ReplyDeleteI believe Kate still has feelings of inadequency...it surely hurt to immediately see Jon go through about a dozen 20's something girls over the last year. It was obvious from the show that Jon withheld affection and any kind of commendation as to Kate's appearance. I do think she is weary of doing it all now and is lonely. Kids are great, but she needs some adult companionship and encouragement. So she is dressing to say "look, I do have a nice body" and "I do want to attract a man". Problem is she does have lots of liabilities in the sense of time and opportunity to even meet someone. Jon has all the time in the world to pursue his selfish interests. Kate's self-esteem is still hurting...she gets so much flak and criticism. I feel for her.
ReplyDeleteI like a bit of cleavage! I think the size of your boobs though should be taken into consideration. The bigger they are the less you show.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with the pieces Kate wears. I LOVE that turquoise top. I just think it's overkill when she wears them all together. It's like jewelry or makeup. You accentuate one area, maybe two, but not all three. Revealing top, short skirt and high heels are just overkill. She needs to go "less" with one.
Angelsmama,
I looked tall? Lol. I'm five feet even. I may have been wearing a wedge heel. My SIP is the same exact height but I give a taller appearance because she has shorter legs and a longer torso.
KatherineDenise,
I went with the black wrap top and short denim skirt but went with a three-inch wedge. My husband said the four-inch platform heel was too much with the short skirt for the occasion. I agreed.
Gee Whiz - I agree. That's why I when I often hear conflicting stories on "breaking news" I turn to NPR. That's just my bias I guess.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to add that I also think part of the problem is that Kate's new look doesn't really go with the image TLC portrayed of her all these years. No one feels she should go back to being frumpy and plain. She was dressing really nice the last year or so. Then she went to overdoing it sometime last year. It just doesn't go with the image she was portraying on her show and her church speaking engagements, etc.
ReplyDeleteSchmecky - That sounds like a dynamite outfit. Did you have fun? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteHealthy eating, working out, embracing your sexuality and dressing in clothes that you are confident in...IMO is an excellent example. I think Kate dresses to flatter her best features her legs & chest. Teaching young girls, especially to be proud of their bodies is not necessarily a bad thing. The wonderful Dove campaignes come to mind for me. Also, the popularity in boudoir baby bump pictures, is an example of mother's embracing their bodies while previously they would be hidden.
ReplyDeleteDo I personally like everything I've ever seen Kate wear, no..but I have my taste she has hers.
Firedup4kate,
ReplyDeleteI agree.
Good evening everyone! Did you miss me? no? again? ohh well! xoxox Linda sorry I had a bit of an emergency tonight and couldn't call. Text me when is a good time to call you tomorrow. Will be checking e-mail right now, have not been able to look until now. We will get this whole thing straightened out.. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see everyone talking about my post! You know it makes me happy. I am laughing looking at those old Kate photos. What is everyone gonna do with those Kate wigs that were sold out on line last year? My guess we will see at least 50 of them on Ebay soon! lol
My take on the this whole debate is that I love the clotheS, sometimes love the shoes but sometimes hate the clothes and the shoes together. Sometimes it's a hit and other times a miss (hit: Kate in pink top & shoes at Stride Rite, MISS: Kate in zebra top and horrible gladiator shoes)
I think what I really wanted to stress is that I don't like when people say that because shes a mom she is not allowed to dress like that. I love Bonnie's post but I didn't agree that she looked Tarty in the Zebra outfit. She looked like a "hot tranny mess" (Chrisitan Siriano, Project Runway)..haha I kid. I loved the outfit just not with the shoes. Shoes really do make an outfit. Who knew!I didn't realize that at 34 you diE and live a life of sweatpants. If your hot, rock it. Just don't rock it all together.. ;)
There are 2 famous quotes by the timesless Coco Chanel. Both relate heavily to Kate Gosselin:
“I don't understand how a woman can leave the house without fixing herself up a little - if only out of politeness. And then, you never know, maybe that's the day she has a date with destiny. And it's best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”
"A style does not go out of style as long as it adapts itself to its period. When there is an incompatibility between the style and a certain state of mind, it is never the style that triumphs.”
KatherineDenise,
ReplyDeleteI went with the black wrap top and short denim skirt but went with a three-inch wedge. My husband said the four-inch platform heel was too much with the short skirt for the occasion. I agreed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yayy, thats sounds really cute. There is nothing better than a cute black top. Thank you for posting it, I did catch myself earlier wondering what you ended up wearing, lol
I must admit with the point that she is doing all 3 in the same outfit. I am probably guilty of that as well. My baby is 4 now and I just started to extend my wardrobe other than the normal Mommy wear. It takes awhile to really get it right. Do a cleavage top OR short skirt OR knock out shoes, just not all 3 at the same time. Makes sence :)
KD,
ReplyDeleteActually I had some cleavage today but I don't have huge boobs. ;)
Linda,
Thanks! It was a great day. Not hot not cold. We went to Central Park. You can view the sea lion feeding without admission. And the playground there that I used to take my nephews to. And my girls got to hop around on the huge piano keys at FAO Schwartz. We had a blast. I miss Manhattan. :(
FiredUp4Kate, I agree with you about Kate's self esteemn hurting. I rewatched the episode of Kate Plus Eight recently where Kate was working on the projects and where she got a lot of criticism for her comment about the one bedroom apartment and I noticed that she is still really hurting even through the positive front that she puts up for the kids. While not saying that she didn't have her share of the responsibility for the marriage breakup, it is a big blow to her, she never imagined life like this and she is struggling. I admire her for getting out there and putting her best foot forward even though it may be in a sandal that some people see as inappropriate
ReplyDeleteGood morning. Baby Mama I'm enjoying the publicity photo that Jon had made of the GKids posted at the top on your "photo of the day." Sweet photo. Thanks for adding it.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning everyone! Bear with me because I have been up all night w/the baby..long night...Loving all the new Jon "parenting" info today! sigh
ReplyDeleteJon Gosselin to Write a Parenting Book August 24th, 2010 at 2:04 pm
"While Kate Gosselin works steadily to support her family, Jon Gosselin has remained jobless since the couple got divorced and Jon & Kate Plus 8 went off the air. Sure, he’s done the random night of bartending or selling of his autograph, but professional opportunist doesn’t quite make the cut for child support payments. We’ve heard rumors that he’s been trying to get another reality gig, but his contract with TLC has made this difficult. His new idea for some cash: Penning a book on parenting. Kate has also written a series of best selling books, so this is not a completely original idea. He thought of it with the help of his new life coach Sylvia Lafair who will be co-authoring the tomb. She’ll likely get a cut, in addition to her pay for taking Jon on “soul searching missions into the mountains of Pennsylvania at $10,000 a trip.”
A Slice of Life: Jon Gosselin’s Story will be a memoir, most likely of the tragicomic variety, detailing his “journey” from nobody, to reality TV character, to tabloid punching bag. ” Jon is still deciding what exactly the book will be about, but knows he wants to focus on his parenting skills,” a friend of his tells PopEater. “There is no deal yet or timeline, but the [interest] in Jon from publishers is huge right now, so he’s going to strike while the iron is hot.”
Jon gets a lot of slack for being a bad parent, mostly for introducing his kids to his long line of young girlfriends, being caught on video smoking pot, and waging then dropping custody battles. But, he has been through a lot. His qualifications may not be stellar, but he has dealt with his divorce and parenting eight children. Maybe he can help some people? Paging Michael Lohan.
Jon will be leaving out some of his poorer choices. “What the book won’t be focusing on is how quickly he moved on, after Kate, with two much younger girlfriends, his partying nights in Las Vegas or his new huge tattoo that covers his entire back,” continues the friend, though making mistakes and learning from them seem it would be a big part of Jon’s becoming a better parent.
However, with Dr. Lafair’s help it might actually be good (or at least readable). She’s published an award-winning business book called ‘Don’t Bring It to Work.’ At least it’s not a picture book of Jon’s favorite Ed Hardy tees. I’ll probably read it. Will you?"
Good morning Linda, did you get my emails? My daughter has my phone. Will try to catch up with you later in the day if your available :)
ReplyDeletemomsby, I went to high school freshman orientation last night and there were a lot of bad mothers (by the way they dressed) myself included (chunky necklace, cleveage, wedge platform shoes) :)
ReplyDeleteAs to how Kate dresses...I say, own it and rock it. People are going to talk about you no matter what. Some of your choices are not what I would pick but then again I don't always agree with Stacey and Clinton.
Welcome back Dee! I agree 100%. They are gonna talk about her regarless if she's wearing a sack. The blogs are buzzin that Kate's super secret Emmy gig includes someone else as well. Any takers as to who? She was practicing with "a mystery person" in NYC!
ReplyDeleteTashapork,
ReplyDeleteYour comment at 11:19 was perfectly said, thank you!
Dee, I like to rock my cleavage also...it draws attention away from the post babies problem areas.:) I'm a naughty Momsby, from way back!
ReplyDeleteJimmy Fallon is out in Los Angeles. He has done several interviews.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the Emmys in years but I like Fallon.
Just - no it wasn't. We've moved way beyond that topic. Sorry, but been there, done that, talked it do death. JMO.
ReplyDeleteSylvia Lafair, Jon’s life coach, says in below article that “The law said he could not go through the gate.”
ReplyDeletehttp://www.examiner.com/workplace-issues-in-national/leadership-dilemma-life-dilemma-and-jon-gosselin
Thanks GeeWhiz, that was an interesting article. A commenter below the article implies it's Jon's own fault he's banned from the property due to recent atics, but I still stand firm that the kids should be exempt from any fight between Kate and Jon, i.e., when Jon is p/u or d/o the kids the "ban" is lifted. Should he show up there when it's not his weekend, that's a different story. Kate could call the cops or whatever it takes. But for heaven's sake what harm could he do to the property while he's delivering his children to their home? Some people just don't get it, the Judge included.
ReplyDeleteThanks for that article, GeeWhiz. It was interesting. She seems to excuse Jon's behavior, much like he does himself.
ReplyDeleteLori Anne - I'd certainly agree that in an ideal world that should happen. If there relationship were ideal, there'd probably not be a divorce in the first place. I'm guessing this judicial decision happened the last time Jon took Kate back to court. The judge made the decision and we don't know the circumstances. I don't think it's our business why. Both parties had legal representation. I suppose should Jon disagree, he could always take her back to court.
ReplyDeleteI don't care what Kate wears. She can show off whatever she's got.
ReplyDeleteI'm just tired of the whole debate. I am tired of everyone judging her and saying she shouldn't wear this or that. Don't wear this WITH that.
Geesh!
I have been to Reading a lot in the past 5 yrs, my ex lives there. What she wears is comparable to a lot of women in that area.
Wait, I better clarify my last comment. I do not mean to imply that the (sorry I know we aren’t supposed to talk about it anymore), drop off/pick up issues are his fault; I just meant that I get the feeling that she seems to be at the ready with an arsenal of explanations and excuses for him.
ReplyDeleteLinda I still say it's not ideal for the kids. Kids in divorce should always be top priority, regardless of what a couple's respective lawyers come up with.
ReplyDeleteTiggerfan1965, I agree. I'm tired of the clothing topic! What shall we all talk about now? We still have a few days till the Emmys.
Ali you're right. I got that from the article too. I guess you could call the author a "Jon apologist." There are Kate apologists too, and anything written by them would be slanted to sound pro-Kate. It all depends on the point of view of the writer (and the reader for that matter).
ReplyDeleteLori Anne ITA with you on the both sides. :)
ReplyDeleteTiggerFan - hey there! We've missed your posts!Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteSometimes life gets too funny. I'm frustrated with JonG and have stated before many times here that I want Jon to be happy ( and want him to find a job.) I've also said that I hoped Ellen would turn out to be THE one but really wish Jon would have waited before involving her with the kids until they'd dated longer. Also, from the account that I had to close from the attacks that I had tried to contact former PR contacts, that surely there was a company who would want him as a highly visible employee. Tweeted him several ideas for tv (not snarky) that I thought would work. Yes, I've also suggested he start dressing differently to change his image and think about honoring contacts. Had another idea for a spokesperson job with a fitness makeover company; they're looking to hire somebody to commit to training with them and the being a spokesperson. I went to tweet it, but I'm blocked now. Okay Jon, if you have people reading here cutting and pasting, somebody have his agent contact fitness equipment manufacturer's. They are looking for a reality show on "New look, New regiment, New Man."
ReplyDeleteAgain Jon, I wish you happiness and figuring out how to find what you want. I'd like to be proJon again.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a life coach/ therapist and they used said video footage of my family for their personal gain I would be livid and tey would be out the door. Sad thing is Jon doesn't see it. She just like the rest of us wasn't there and really doesn't know the whole picture. Many states have provisions to deal with visitation transfers when there are problems. I know one city where parents are court mandated to do drop offs at a children's shelter where a Social worker is always on duty and another where the parents have to pay someone to do the transport, one where parents have to designate a neutral territory like daycare and another where they do it at the police station. Usually as time passes things cool down, everybody gets used to the situation and drop offs become normal. I for one am just glad people aren't making an issue of what I wear
ReplyDeleteJust heard on ET that they will have Kate's Emmy spot scoop tomorrow. Can't wait to hear what they are saying about it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting article. Regarding "the law," she may have just been referring to laws in general, such as private property and trespassing laws, and not something ruled in family court over custody, because she also refers to "the law" when she mentions the paps. I don't think she's referring to a judge ruling regarding the dropping off and picking up and custody, etc.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I noticed she said Jon did not allow those pap pics at the retreat as some have assumed.
I wonder what Jon's book is about. He tweeted that it is not a "parenting" book.
I totally agree that Kate (and Jon) can wear whatever they want. I just think it's natural to discuss their outfits sometimes.
ReplyDeleteI personally think she posted that video and explained it and wrote that article to speak for Jon since he may not be able to do so himself now because of TLC contract restrictions. JMO.
ReplyDeleteI will be so happy to find out more about the Emmys, At least (hopefully) it will be something different talk about!
ReplyDeleteI think I heard something about it involving another person. I'm thinking it might be Betty White since I heard her say somewhere she will be involved with the opening segment of the Emmy's.
ReplyDeleteAdele, I agree, I think it is Betty White
ReplyDeleteI don't see a problem with having ads on a blog. One has nothing to do with the other. All newspapers and magazines contain ads. Besides, how do you know what is done with the funds? Maybe some blogs use the funds to help support their cause. Maybe they donate it to an organization for exploited children. Maybe they use it to make up for money they don't make during the hour they are blogging because it takes them away from their paying job. I don't think it's hypocritical to put ads on your blog unless your blog is a blog against advertising. JMO.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone SURE Kate will be on the Emmys:
ReplyDeleteJimmy Fallon is tight-lipped on plans for his Emmy hosting debut on Sunday. Heck, he still won't confirm my scoop that Kate Gosselin will be there.
Read more: http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/marc_malkin/b197088_jimmy_fallons_emmys_plan_weird_crazy.html#ixzz0xg1MzPJq
The president of the Emmys association stated on ET tonight that Kate will in fact be on the program, but he would not reveal what she will do. He was there to officially roll out the "red carpet" with Jimmy Fallon. Fallon has said that he likes Kate and that she was a very good sport about his comedy act about her.
ReplyDeleteGood evening everybody! Man the trolls are starting again aren't they? The evil wizard of blogs Lisa K. is now accusing me of starting some hate site about her. There are alot of people that like to cause trouble out there. The differnce is, she once again is being the slime she is and and posting bits and pieces of my personal information that she got from some hater at Cafe Mom. She is also sneaking onto this site. I deleted it and notified blogger that once again, she is even beneath the slime on the bottom of a dirty shoe. Lisa I know you are reading this and if you think that you ONCE AGAIN try to slander me think again. Put it out there and I will do the same. You think you are the only one with personal info? How do you think JW got a call from the police in the first place?
ReplyDeletePhew, thank you! There's nothing better than someone reading into the fact that I wrote here today I was talking to Linda which I do everyday anyway. Watching and hovering over this site every day. Everyone here should be flattered that their words so valued. Their need to be here, there obsession with spending just a moment here with us, the happy sane ones. Never ceases to amaze me.
With that. Denise at this point we will have to see what happens. I believe it to be true, because when anything is at this much of a fever pitch it's usually accurate. Same thing right before Dancing With The Stars. I really hope that for something this big, if it wasn't true Kate would respond to it. Her not saying anything once again speaks volumes.
I applaud her by never allowing herself to see the filth and pure hatred that is written about her. Thats how she is able to go forward with her life and continue to make her own choices and make a ton of money on her own terms. . I need to ignore the trash from now on, and focus on the fact that if they WANT to be here so bad, I must have a pretty fantastic site here. Love you all! xoxoxox
GeeWhiz~ thank you so much for posting that Jon could not pass the gate based on the LAW. That was something I never realized
ReplyDeleteGood morning all. It's a sunny day here. I'm trying to put a little sunshine into my disposition. There is so much Tween drama in our house right now that it is exhausting. Forget the teen years (been there) it's the Tween years with the emerging hormones and rollercoaster emotions that are driving me up the wall! BeTween the sibling angst and sudden need for a zillion more hairdryers that can never be found after the 5am showers it's more Yikes than Likes. "Mom, my hairdryer is gone and she took it!" Me: Do you know that for a fact or guess? "He broke his hairdryer when it dropped! I heard something crash!" Geez, only last year I wad saying, "You MUST wash your hair. Now!!" This year I'm saying, "You could just wash it every other day." Oh Kate! If you think finding hairbrushes and barrettes was hard, wait until you hit hairdryers, deoderant, and hormones. We call it the HDH stage here.
ReplyDeleteKate dropped the kids off at the bus stop this morning. No pictures of Jon.
ReplyDeletehttp://celebrity-gossip.net/kate-gosselin/kate-gosselins-school-send-403604
Thanks for the update, Gee Whiz.
ReplyDeleteI thought it particularly good that I think, all but one of the photos were of Kate and not much showing the kids at all. I'm confused, though, I thought all the tabloids were "reporting" a school start date of next week.
ReplyDeleteLinda O - Maybe Kate is such a mean parent she forces her kids to go school a week earlier. LOL, I kid.
ReplyDeleteI'm with CMO3..a huge believer in Karma. What goes around comes around mean girls.
ReplyDeleteBM, as you know there is a LONG line of potential suspects a new person is accused every few days. I guess even a little group of bullies, can annoy a large group of people.
Linda..thanks for saying the tween years are the hardest IYO...you've given me hope!
Momsby - IMO kids learn from making decisions, making mistakes, having parents to guide them through it, and learning the consequences of decisions. The Tweens, God bless them one and all, are getting a huge step into decision making (changing classes) at the same time as huge body changes and friction is inevitable. It makes me soooooo want to yell back after explaining the same thing a zillion times. I make many mistakes. I did find a trick for bickering in the car. I give one warning. If it happens again right away I turn up the radio uber loud for 2 seconds then back to normal. I try to say in a normal voice, "Now that I have your full attention...we can drop the drama or this channel goes to NPR news." So far, it's working, lol. I want a bumper sticker that says "Parents in this car are riding with Tweens!"
ReplyDeleteHey, Tabloids! Do you feel any regret for your headlines that were wrong? You know, the Kate Will Miss First Day of School Because Emmys More Important!" once again, you had the dates wrong. No research, just rush to publish to grab some readers.
ReplyDeleteI see Kate is dressing them all alike for school. lol. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I was kidding! I realize they are the school uniform.
ReplyDeleteLinda...Thanks I needed the pep talk, it's been a rough week. I'd buy that bumper sticker!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we watched my nieces and nephew for a few days when their parents went to a funeral and the big thing for them was the hair mousse. When the mother came back, I told her that they could probably save 20 minutes each morning if each one had their own bottle. I know it gets pricy, but sometimes sanity is worth it. I was also glad to not have their water bill with the 40 minute showers. Jon may be the one taking the kids to the bus on Monday and the tabloids that think that is the real day of school will be there with him.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Kate's outfit for taking the kids to school. She looked soo much less stressed than last year at this time, I also loved how she brought the van close to the bus and just helped the kids in.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon everyone! As always GeeWhiz supplies us with some links..Always appreciated! Sorry I had to vent last night, I will not back down when someone accuses me of something that I have way to much class to ever do. The REAL DIVAS ARE HERE and everyone knows it. Thats why they love us so much ;)
ReplyDeleteSo RadarOnline now called aka Chris has the video of the kids getting on the bus. And of course Radar does not share any of their good stuff. So I will paste the article and link here. And yes Linda you are right. I loved how the haters went on and on how Kate would actually miss her kids first day of school because The Emmys are more important..ugh The most important thing about this post though is that Jon is quick to not only state he IS writing a parenting book, but of course it's not about "parenting"..
"Even a reality TV mom can't escape this reality. Kate Gosselin will have to deal with an empty nest for part of the day for the next nine months, as she dropped off all eight of her children to school on their first day in Wernersville, Pennsylvania on Thursday, and RadarOnline.com has the brand new photos.
The kids (twins Mady and Cara, sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Collin, Alexis, Hannah and Leah) were clad in matching sweatshirts -- boys in black, girls in white -- and blue jeans, as Kate and her silver fox bodyguard Steve Neild saw them off. Kate got sentimental on her blog earlier this month, indicating that the new school year will be the first that all eight of her children attend class full-time.
"I stand in awe, amazement and slight sadness at the thought of this [insert sad, nostalgic mommy music here please]," she wrote. In related news, Jon Gosselin Tweeted Wednesday he is "not writing a parenting book" and "not at liberty to discuss what [his new] book is about yet." A new, one-hour Kate Plus 8 special airs August 30 on TLC at 9/8c."
Baby Mama, Coco Channel has nothing on you! I loved your quote best! LOL
INF has a video up of the drop off. There is a lady helping Kate that says something to the pap but I could not get the volume to work.
ReplyDeleteAlso posted is a comment to dispel the myth that Kate is paid by INF:
Jessica @ INF Daily
August 26, 2010, 10:59 am
To clarify, INF has never paid Kate for pictures.
Radaronline said Steve was there but he was not in the video or any of the pictures.
Good idea to pull the van up so close. The tups just go half day until Monday. That will be their first full day of KG. My nephew still goes to the same school in PA.
ReplyDeleteI didn't read all of the posts, so sorry if this was already covered. I'm a year older than Kate and a "rule" I have learned is that you CAN wear a tank top, mini skirt and heels, just not all at once. Pick one and build your outfit around that. I love my LOFT denim mini, but I will wear it with a cute embellished T and flats, not with a revealing tank top and gladiator shoes. Kate should be careful with her tops though because since the "girls" have gotten bigger, they seem to start under her pits and her nips are up higher and can slip out at any moment, and some of her tops are too low cut. She does seem to dress for attention. I think she can dress more appropriately for running errands where she knows she will be bending over to load groceries, etc. Last year there were crotch shots of her on ROL when she was wearing a dress. Maybe shorts and a T with tennis shoes would have been more appropriate. As someone else pointed out, she is always saying she is "doing it all for the kids". I don't think she is dressing for the kids. She also needs to keep in mind that she spends a lot of time around a married man and dressing sexy makes it looks like she is dressing for him. JMO. She has money, she can dress stylishly and tastefully without being matronly. She just needs to find a balance between mom sweats and sneakers and minis with hooker heels. She was doing well when all of her clothes came from LOFT. I love that store. They have great clothes that are tasteful and stylish and yes, even sexy, but not inappropriate.
ReplyDeleteKitty the Dog's Blog - Thanks for being a new poster. And you did say it was just your opinion, which you are so entitled to post. Yes there was one "crotch" shot at ROL that was made with a telephoto lens while Kate was on her own property by a paparazzi. I think you should be able to dress as you please on your own property.I do think that Kate's adding the trees should help these types of personal invasion. JMO.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all Kitty welcome. I am trying to see where you were going with your post. It was kind of on the border of being deleted. I hope you can see why. I know that your aware there was no bashing of Kate here since I am offically her #1 fan LOL. But was there a need for "the girls" comments and the crotch nips and slips? Am I forgetting anything? Ohh and and I am NOT once again getting into bobbygate, but since it was brought up a good lift bra does wonders for everyone FYI. Lets stress again that Kate did not get breasts implants.
ReplyDeletePlease be aware that since this is troll season we will be keeping an eye out on all the new posters. We can't edit anyones comments only accept or delete them. So that may help those that are confused as to why their posts didn't go through. Thanks! And hope you all continue to share your thoughts. ;)
Wasn't the "shot" kitty is referring to a fake? Just like the one of Mylie Cyrus?
---------
I'm not sure if it was fake, photoshopped, or shot by a paparazzi with a long lens. JMO, it was a pap shot with long lens shot from more than 500 feet from the fence line on the Gosselin property.
Regardless, a disgusting invasion of privacy.
ReplyDeleteKitty - Whew that's a lot of questions. Most of them have been discussed here over and over. I can try to answer them, but it would take quite a while.
ReplyDeleteBaby Mama's email is: jonkatefanpage@gmail.com
Mine is: lindabiography@gmail.com
I'm just the babysitter.
Be aware that Baby Mama is getting ready for vacation and busy packing so may take a while.
Kitty - Also be aware that I deleted your post because of asking questions that have been discussed over and over, nothing personal.
ReplyDeleteThanks Linda. Since Im new I didn't know the questions had been asked and answered. I will email. I am in no hurry - the semester just started.
ReplyDeleteNot a problem. Shoot me the email and let me know which of your questions have priority.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on an index (currently listed to the right as archive) so that when a question gets asked (that we've debated repeatedly), I can ask the newbie to please take a look at the post on such and such date.
Enjoy your semester.
Okay folks, I've about had the course with Tabloids. The "un-named source" for US magazine who is reporting that Kate and Steve took strolls on the beach. Geez, if you had received emails about what was being posted during this time, would you dare walk on the beach by yourself? Since Steve's wife Gina was there part of the time, wouldn't that have been a little awkward?
ReplyDeleteI think the question index is a great idea. I am a relatively new blogger and know that some questions must have been discussed to death, so I don't want to bring them up. This way I can go to the index and find the answer and then contribute to the blog with a bit more info. Once others know that there are answers to certain - common questions, they may come here as a resource.
ReplyDeleteThe tabloids were a shock today at the store. Wow, lots of negatives - all from the same source?
ReplyDeleteL/O, I never heard mention of Gina being at Bald head, is there a source?
I think Kate is hosting the Emmy After party for Entertainment Tonight.
ReplyDeleteDenise - if you go through all the pap photos from BHI, you will actually see her in a photo. But the photos are split in two sections at INF. Looking for a link now. I have to stop and eat first, though. I'm two hours past time and as a diabetic I just have to. Give me a couple of hours, okay? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOK I decided to do a new post now because I am offically THE FIRST to give the big reveal (and yes I checked because my ego is that big). Wanna know the big scoop from Entertainment Tonight? It's offically in my new fresh papaer. I am very excited!
ReplyDeleteMy fresh paper tonight has the scent of the GOLD EMMY STATUE? What does that smell like exactly? Hmm I'm thinking anything on the menu from Wolfgang Puck! YUMMY!http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/restaurants
