Jon Sells Car To Support Kids, Letter To Jon "It's About Time!"

IVILLAGE.COM (Photos: INF) Remember Kate Gosselin's recent Tonight Show appearance when she and Jay Leno wondered aloud whether Jon Gosselin had gotten a job? Well, the answer is still no; however, we've just learned that Gosselin has seemingly developed a sophisticated three-pronged financial strategy in order to support his eight children. According to Us Weekly, Jon's planned sources of income include: 1. A rich girlfriend. According to "a Gosselin insider," Jon, 33, has stopped trolling college campuses for dates and is now seeing an older Washington, D.C., woman with cash in the bank. "She's rich," says the source, "and he's hoping to have her back one of his projects." 2. Pitching a reality show. Apparently, Jon has been knocking down TLC's door trying to get his own show. Sources say he's so desperate, he's reportedly even lobbied to costar in ex-wife Kate's upcoming show Twist of Kate. 3. Selling his car. Need some wheels? Jon's BMW will soon be up for grabs; he's selling it for $25K (a $5,000 loss). So while Kate works on lining up post-Dancing with the Stars sources of income, Jon is selling his possessions and milking his girlfriend for money. If that's how he's planning on providing for his eight kids, it's a good thing he backed off on that custody lawsuit!

Thank You John Gosselin! By Chloe Melas Popeater.com

Jon, I have to say I’m pleased to see you attempting to get along with your ex wife Kate AND stepping up to take care of your eight little ones! Jon Gosselin, you actually said AND did the right thing! Not only did you fire your wacko blabbermouth attorney Anthony List — you admitted to TMZ that you never really wanted to get primary custody of your eight little Gosselins- you just wanted to have more liberal visitation rights.. Now we’re talking! You’re starting to make some sense because filing for custody was absurd to begin with! You hired Anthony because he was a friend of your fathers’ but after he filed the custody lawsuit against your ex-wife Kate Gosselin which was filled with errors, you realized you’d made a poor decision. You tweeted Apr. 22 that you fired Anthony Apr.and a source close to you tells us you’re furious with Anthony. “Jon is really upset because what Anthony has been doing is illegal,” says our source. “He’s threatening to file a a suit with the bar association,” against Anthony.

Jon — I have to tell you I’m happy to hear you’re ridding yourself of people that make you look like nothing more than a big dope. AND I’m over the moon that you’re looking for a job! “I’m trying to find a job … I would like a job in some aspect of TV, probably as a host.” Well … let’s not get ahead of ourselves! I know you’re saying you can’t afford the $22,000 a month child suport so you’re trying to make some extra cash by selling your BMW but maybe you should run out and grab a 9-5 in the mean time … just a thought. Jon, you’re making steps in the right direction and it’s about time!

  1. No problem! Love the smell of fresh paper, and I wanted to say what I needed to say before moving on. And for that matter, it's a new post about Jon! I feel I have been neglecting him lately. ;)

  2. Jon,
Go to Friend of the Court and request an income review, ASAP. The sooner you do that, the less you will be in arrears, if any. Get it in writing with the court if you have no /little income. If the system does not know your circumstances, they can't help you. Don't depend on Kate to help you, that's not going to happen.

  3. Jon,
Thank goodness you're getting back into the daddy routine. Now get rid of that TeleTubby hairstyle. It looks ridiculous and has become fodder for more ridicule.

  4. I can't imagine anyone in their right mind giving Jon a show. Ever.

  5. My concern about Jon being on a show is that the content of the show that he would be given would probably degrade him even more. It would be like when he was on the Insider and such in October getting trashed. I also have serious doubts about his ability to find adequate counsel and represent himself in negotiations. I really hope he can get some help for himself, maybe some education and counseling first. There are possibilities for him, but in due time.
I am glad to see him sell the BMW because I see it as part of shedding that horrible year that he had and starting over. I only pray that any woman he finds brings out the best in him because the best for him is the best for his kids.

  6. FYI: Kates book first week out is #11 on the New York Times Best Seller list! Who says the book isn't doing well?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/02/books/bestseller/besthardnonfiction.html?ref=bestseller

    ReplyDelete
  7. For those who are saying that the NY Times bestseller list represents books that have been sold to retailers but not to the public, that isn't true.

    This is from Wikipedia:
The list is based on weekly sales reports obtained from selected samples of independent and chain bookstores, as well as wholesalers, throughout the United States. The sales figures are widely believed to represent books that have actually been sold at retail, rather than wholesale figures,[3] as the Times surveys a number of actual booksellers in an attempt to better reflect what is actually purchased by individual buyers.

    ReplyDelete
  8. And for the record, if you actually took the time to READ my post, I was disputing Just Wondering's claim that the books were purchased at wholesale but not sold to the public.

    ReplyDelete
  9. let it be, yes, wholesalers. After a while in a bookstore, they can return them where they are auctioned off in lots and become Bargain books.

    ReplyDelete
  10. You know as much as I want the book to do great, and am excited it climbing up the ladder to do great just like I expected, it doesn't matter who bought it and where it sells. Kate has said shes proud of the book but she doesnt care if it sells copies cause this book was for her 8 precious little children and thats all that matters. She just gave her fans the privilage to let us get a glimpes of her thoughts on love, faith and family and I for one am so grateful as its an awesome book. Its heartwarming and sweetly written and very inspiring in my life as a mother.

  11. Oh my! People fly in and then fly out again so fast.???

    ReplyDelete
  12. KatherineDenise, I agree with you 100% I also think some people are waiting to see if she does signings because some of the places are making you buy the book there to have it signed. To have a book on a topic like motherhood appeal to as large as an audience as it does is a big accomplishment and I am happy for Kate. I find her words inspiring. I really see a lesson in her words for others in dealing with a situation that would leave many others bitter.

  13. JW... As a proud Canadian I just want you to know, We Don't Claim you. That by the way is meant as an insult. We claim everyone..including Dean (Spelling)can't remember his name & William Shatner.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Aww Schmecky, you know how it is, my blog is so hot that even yelling at people to go away STILL Makes them come back.. Why is that? Why can't they just slither back under their rock? Does Kate being on the NY Times Best Seller List give them that much heartache? It's insane..

    ReplyDelete
  15. Momsby~ that is so funny. At first I didn't like that Dean guy either, and that Tony & Dean show can get annoying. But he's starting to grow on me. Please claim Jason Priestly too. I'm showing my age but I really still love that guy!

  16. To clarify and to clear my "name" because I post on other blogs - JW came on here and stated that the reason the book is doing so well is because the NY Times bestseller list counts books sold wholesale to stores and not books actually purchased by the public. I corrected her and posted a quote from Wikipedia stating that the NY Times counts books actually sold to people.
The reason I corrected JW here is because she's been spewing that garbage in different places today and as usual, she is misinformed.
As soon as I posted, one of the regulars here dove in and accused me of being Just Wondering. Where she got that from and why she would say that is beyond me! I see that her posts have been removed, as well as mine where I called her by name and said that I wasn't JW, I was a Kate fan.

An apology from the original poster or acknowledgment that I'm not JW by the blog owner would have been nice, but I see that isn't going to happen.

Lovely way to greet potential new posters ladies!

  17. LOL momby, "We dont claim you" lmao

I got my book today and cant put it down, I have laughed, I have cried reading all the wonderful letters, they are so heartwarming and inspiring. I am reminded how important it is to let your children know how much you love them and not let life get in the way. Just to read Kate's thoughts on how that part of her life was is very very cool. I hope she has a book tour cause I really really want to go again.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh we claim Jason Priestly we must be the same age. LOVED that show when I was *a young child*
...Dean Mcdermote(that's his name) We claim seriously everybody even the one's not worth claiming. But not you JW, so don't even try. We already have far to many insects.

Hey SG, how does a girl go about asking a very serious question on the blogging lawyer's site. I just got deleted & I was being nice.

  19. Yawn... JW, you're boring me.... you are truly obsessed. Maybe you should start your own blog... www.gosselinobsessed.com.

Anyway... I'm up late, watching episode 31 of season 4, The New House. I haven't seen any episodes for a long time so it's neat to be able to go watch them on youtube when I need a fix!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm with you Set in the Cleft, Yawn. JW is boring. I couldn't care less about her version of how it works. Will just scroll through all her stuff from now on.

Hey, ROL, when are we going to see pics of Jons' new home. You are behind in your work.

  21. About Jon selling his car, maybe it's not to pay support. Didn't he have 2 or 3 cars at one time? He has to have one left to drive, right?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Momsby - The other day you said you were making Monkey Munch, where can I find the recipe? We are planning a baby shower and I thought that could be a snack put out on the tables. What do you think? To replace the Chex you can't find, can you use Cheerios?
Where is that Lawyers Blog? I should check it out.

  23. Who really cares about the NY Times Best Seller List? However the book got on the list and whether it's sales are 11th or 103rd in the US, there are three things that are clear.

    1) This is not a plot on Kate's part and nothing is being done on her behalf (if anything is being done) that is not a routine part of how publishers work the NY Times list.

    2) Any arguments that Kate's book has flopped are ridiculous as no one would argue that anyone else's book on the NY Times best seller list flopped.

3)And in the future, it will be legitimate to indicate that this book of Kate's was a best seller.

  24. Good morning everyone! Wow even threats of going to the police does not take a troll down. They NEED to post here..They MUST post here..Too bizarre..On to the next step with that..

I wanted to show you a sweet interview from Derek Hough from DWTS. He was commenting on his expierence being on the show with Kate.

"The mother of eight, who was eliminated last week, embodied what the show is all about, Hough says. “She represented all those mothers at home with their kids that watch the show that think ‘I would love to do that.’ She lived it and they lived through her experience.”

Gosselin, who partnered with Tony Dovolani, received harsh criticism from the show’s judges and was a frequent tabloid target throughout her five-week run. Still, Hough says, she had a good time on the show and everyone enjoyed getting to know her.

“Given the current circumstances she’s in and the press that surrounds her, she had a lot of fun,” Hough assures. “Even though it’s stressful and terrifying, it’s an absurd experience to learn a new skill and rehearse for hours every day and then perform on live television. This was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for her. It wasn’t just a dance show. You learn so much about yourself as a person, how far you can push yourself, your work ethic. She was fantastic.”

  26. #1caregiver I agree with you on the scrolling past until the flyswatter hits. I normally enjoy reading what everyone has to say even if I don't agree with it, but that is a problem that goes way beyond Gosselin hate and anything to do with Gosselin, there is help out there for people who hate that much because that kind of life is hurting them even more than it is bothering us.
Katherine Denise, I am glad that you are emjoying the book as much as I did. I loved the way Kate was soo positive.

  27. Good News!!! Yayy I am so excited to see those 8 little faces again!!

Pa. Approves New Kate Gosselin Show
Pennsylvania labor officials have approved Kate Gosselin's new TV show with her children to be filmed outside Reading, Pa.

A state official told TMZ on Saturday that all the labor permits had been approved for "Kate Plus 8," the summer spin-off series from "Jon & Kate Plus 8" featuring Kate Gosselin and her eight children.

Kate Gosselin will be required to withhold part of the gross pay for the series in a trust fund for the children.

On April 14, the state said it found that filming was done on "Jon & Kate Plus 8" without proper permits, but no legal action would be taken against the show’s producers as long as they got permits for future filming.

Also, going forward, 15 percent of the gross earnings must be put into a trust for the children.

A filming permit was not either submitted or approved for "Twist Of Kate," a second TLC show set for Kate Gosselin.

That show features Kate Gosselin interacting with fans

  28. Did you see this? I wonder why they say Kate was booted off the property. They have no idea what is gong on and they just make stuff up! Just because she was seen driving away? Anyway, now the paps are fighting for photog rights on the peoperty and the kids had to hide in the bushed till they fighting stopped. How rediculous...how will they spin this one?

    http://www.gossipcenter.com/jon-gosselin/gosselin-family-weekend-drama-353659

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think that was a mistake about Kate getting booted off the property. I think paparazzi were booted off the property and Jon threatened to shoot them with a capgun. neither Radar Online or anyone else, but that gossipcenter, makes any mention of Kate. Maybe she stopped by to pick something up or such and left. I really think if Kate was booted off of her property, there would be other sources. I a little curious if that lunch was just for Jon or for the kids too. It looks kind of small for everyone. Just my opinion. I do think Kate needs to use some proceeds from her current endeavors for a new fence, private and twelve feet high

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well it looks more like Jon was having a picnic in the woods with the kids?? Why would he not take the kids in the house if he wanted to shield them?? this story doesnt make any sence at all. And of course the story sounds better if they put Kate drama in there, they have no idea why she was there. For all we know she brought them food. But if Jon really did say that, then thats scarey. I would hope he NEVER takes his guns out around the kids.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have to hope Jon shoots his mouth off more than guns. I understand the desire to do something to the paparazzi, but especially if jon wants a film career, I don't think he'd act. A picnic sounds like fun.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree Tasha, I would think it is VERY frustrating to have them standing there constantly when you just want to have some alone time with the kids. I think a very high privacy fence would be a great solution.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I thought the surrounding trees were too high to effectively screen. Maybe I'm wrong. I thought the paps climbed up into the trees. LOL, maybe a laser strobe to interfere with photos.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Funny, I was just sent the radar post via e-mail titled "Jon will shoot you"..In it they clearly have the photos of Kate food shopping for the kids and running errands & dropping things off. Not "being kicked from her house". Point being, gossip rags love to make stuff up to create drama. Even Radars "shoot you" comment.

On the same token though.. what the heck..do they really climb the trees to get shots now?

    http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2010/04/photos-jon-gosselin-i-will-shoot-you

    ReplyDelete
  35. With all that space in the back, you would think J&K would have set up a picnic/playground area in a shaded spot. Out of sight past the crooked houses that they have. They could still rides bikes on the driveway but then go back.
I kind of think they like the attention.LOL JMO

    ReplyDelete
  36. Baby Mama. Sadly they do. Even at the tups birthday party last year they showed photos of the paps hanging in the trees outside the park making photos with their super telephoto lenses.

    ReplyDelete
  37. #1 caregiver, I thought about that too. But at my moms house, my kids hang out on the driveway too. They ride their bikes back & forth and hate being in the back yard. I don't get it, but I was thinking maybe it was because they felt safe and remember the driveway at their old house. There may be a sense of security there.

And I know their celebrities and all, but does that mean they aren't allowed to pay on their own driveway? Seems kind of sad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Most of the kids' toys are stored in the garage right there. Gosh the driveway is 500+ feet from the fence. Maybe more. The backyard had the dog poop. Maybe that's dried up now. How long does it take to disintegrate. I don't know 'cause we use a scooper.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well toys can be stored in the back building too. Yard can be cleaned also, if they hate it so much, then they have to make changes.
I think the front view of the property is beautiful and it would be a shame to have to put a big fence along the road. The pool is at the back of the house and they could have a walk out or step down to a sodded area for patio furniture, swings, climber, sand box()OOP!), I forgot they can't have a sand box because Kate doesn't want them to get dirty. Scratch the sand box, literally. Right, I should be a Playground designer. LOL I do believe that where there is a problem, there is a solution!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Last but not least, they have lots of room to spread out. That why they wanted the space, so why not use it?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Caregiver, I think there are solutions also. Btw, there was and is a sandbox under the fort. There were photos at old house of Kate putting sand into it. The cover wouldn't stay on and they had a problem with a neighbor's cat using it as a litter box. She also took them to that "castle place" to climb and play in the dirt. I think the issue wasn't playing in the dirt as much as it was not doing it in "good clothes.". Don't know what it's referred to in PA but here we call it good clothes and play clothes.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I dont think it would be very fun to ride the bikes in the back yard in the grass. I agree with BM, this is thier house, if they feel more comfortable playing on the nice paved driveway they have all the right to do so. Thier swing set is behind the garage where it cant be seen from the road. If it means no more pics of the kids playing and having to deal with the p-people then a fence would totally be worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I know there are lot of Kate and the kids defenders at ROL but I wish that they would defend them at TMZ also. Some of the comments about them is just brutal.

    ReplyDelete
  44. In order to play in the front, they have two options -- put up with the paps (which I wouldn't) or get some type of restraining order. Although, they might have already tried that if it was doable. I would think I could have a restraining order against my neighbor if he was taking pics of myself and my kids. What's the difference for a tv personality?

And it's true; if the G's want to protect their kids, they should invest some money into creating a safe, even paved area in the back where they wouldn't be exposed that way. It's true that it's sad that they can't play in front privately but, unless they legally enforce something, they have put themselves in that position. I think a fence would be absolutely horrible looking and I bet the neighbors in their area would be extremely against it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Didn't Kate have a police car there one day last summer about the paps out front?? maybe those were some of her questions, what her legal options were?

I dont think I would care too much what the neighbors thought of my "really high fence" if this was what was best for my children for providing them a safe and comfortable space to play in thier own front yard.

I am curious to see if Jon takes to his twitter about this latest story. Would be surprised if he didnt as this is a pretty strong statment.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I posted some positive comments, and are being attacked by the GWOPers, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I agree that they should invest in some thick evergreen shrubbery or trees far enough inside their existing fencing to prevent being climbed up on and taller than the top of the current fences and thick enough to prevent being peered through. I wouldn't mind not seeing pics of them if it allows them to have some well needed privacy.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would agree, pave a portion of the backyard.

Do any of you PA folks know what the statutes are in PA on maintaining distance? I thought it was 300 ft and the distance from the garage area to the fence was a lot more than that but can't find it online to confirm that statutes are same from county to county.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I also agree about creating a nice large paved area in the back for bicycles and wheeled toys away from prying eyes and cameras.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not sure 300 ft is far enough away with all the high-tech, super-zoom telescopic lenses around.

  51. #1 Caregiver..looking for the recipe for Monkey Munch was how I stumbled upon a bad site...then I found the anti site here. BM has the recipe in her very early posts. Chex also has the recipe on their site I believe. I'm not sure if cheerios would be big enough, I substitute Quaker Oat Bran. Can anyone else out there think of a cereal that is like Chex. I can't get Oat Bran in town now either. So I promised my daughter the next time I go to a bigger centre i'll pick something up.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Monkey Munch recipe is at TLC and also at recipezaar.com

    ReplyDelete
  53. I think the cereal "Life from Quaker" would work too, not sure if you have access to that either. First thing that came to mind momby.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Aww momsby~ that was like the 3rd post I ever did two years ago! thanks so much for remembering it.. My favorite Kate Recipies!

    Monkey Munch

    9 cup Chex
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1/4 cup butter
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Put cereal in large bowl. Melt chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour over Chex cereal, put into a large plastic bag with powdered sugar and shake well to coat. Spread mixture evenly on wax paper and allow to cool.

  55. My mouth just got watery just reading that recipe!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Life cereal or Crispix is similar to chex. I hate that when you are online looking at something and stumble on those bad sites, I stumbled on a couple last night, but I have also found some really cute stuff.
I thought of a really cool episode for Kate plus eight. Have Matt Roloff come to PA and build the kids a way awesome play area in a secluded area of the yard.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Just in from TMZ: Kids all set for Kate Plus 8

Kate Gosselin's new TLC show "Kate Plus 8" is all systems go -- because the local Department of Labor says the kiddies have been cleared to continue their careers as reality TV stars. A rep for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Labor and Industry tells TMZ the correct paperwork for the show was submitted and approved ... and said, "The proper steps have been taken and the kids are permitted for 'Kate Plus 8.'"

But according to the rep, nothing has been submitted for Kate's other TLC spin-off "Twist of Kate" -- which could mean the kiddies may not be joining Kate on that one.

  58. Thanks Linda for the recipe site, I already looked onTLC but got lost in those sidebar things. Will try again. Momsby, Life cereal would be good for MM stuff. I buy that alot and didn't even think of it.

OK, I didn't remember the sandbox episode at their house, but I do remember when she took them to the amish farm and then stopped at the park on the way home. She yelled at them, OPPS, I mean announced NO SANDBOX, NO SANDBOX. lol! Now, with me being in child care for over 23 years, and yes I am aging myself now, Kate would just drive me crazy when she wouldn't let them get dirty. Linda, I would ask the parents when they registered a child at my Center to please bring them in play clothes because we did allot of arts and crafts, etc.
Thats my Rant for today and I won't critize what J&K decide to do about the privacy. I just hope they make some kind of change, its necessary.

    ReplyDelete
  59. OPPS!, Correction????
I should have said Kates' house instead of J&K. It's so easy to consider them a couple when you see pics of each of them at the same house. Or is that just my issue?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Caregiver - I agree. Mine went to playschool in "play" clothes, lol. And now that they're in school, ad soon as you cone in the door you change into play clothes. NC is red clay dirt that never comes out. So we have school tennis shoes and play tennis shoes. when school says send "white" tennis shoes I roll my eyes (inwardly I'd never disrespect them) but I always think how the heck do you keep them "white?"

  61. JW, Why do u post so kindly here, them go to other site and write all the negativity with very harsh comments over there? In fact, why do you come here and post at all? Don't you know this is a fan site and everyone here thinks you a joke?

    ReplyDelete
  62. I went to that post with the monkey munch and saw the recipe for sticky buns. I remember my grandmother used to make the same thing and call it monkey bread. Yum I have been wanting the recipe and now I have it thanks Baby Mama. Today when we wer shopping I got what I hope is tahini paste, it says tahini puree and looks right, so as soon as I finish my store bought hummus I am going to try the hummus.
I don't think the kids will be on twist of Kate, I think she will be doing that when Jon has custody.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Omg Tasha, I just made the "Thomas Hummus last night, it was really really good.I thought it was really cute how Kate put in her book that the kids would ask for some more Thomas please cause they couldnt say hummus yet, lol We ate it as a bedtime snack with Bare naked Pita chips :) Now I want to try sticky buns, that looked good.

  64. I wonder when Jon is going to grow up and stop relying on selling his car and finding a woman with money? This is definitely NOT appropriate behaviour for a real FATHER. Playing with his kids for a bit of time is not making him a legitimate father. A real parent is there through thick and thin, through the easy times and the hard times. His behaviour has certainly not shown that he is a fit parent to have custody of eight children. He is behaving like a giddy teenager who has just left home and doesn't know how to appropriately handle his "freedom." Stop and consider...Who has truly been the parent? No wonder Kate was frustrated with Jon. All through the show Jon has not taken the responsible initiative with his children. With eight children so close in age you have to be super organised which Kate was and is. Jon was only too satisfied with being the passive parent. He lacks the stability and maturity to truly parent his children. There is constant talk about Kate and the nannies. What would happen if Jon had the kids and some woman smiled at him? He'd soon ditch the kids with a babysitter while he had his fling....and that has and could take him off to places for heaven knows how long. He has had ample time since the divorce to prove that he truly cares about his children in a responsible way. But what he has done, in my opinion, is to prove that he is very self-centered and immature and needing a lot of attention. What has he done since their break-up to show that he is a father? If you really look at the behaviour of Jon and Kate since the divorce(which Jon wanted), who has behaved like a parent? Behaviour speaks volumes. And now he is lobbying TLC for his own show to be a host!! Or he wants to be a guest on Kate's new show!!! Good grief. This man does not think beyond the end of his nose. Kate has a heavy load to parent her eight children with NO true support from Jon. She cannot depend on him for anything. Remember the weekend Jon had the kids? He had his girlfriend of the hour and chose to put his attention on her...not his eight children. Kate must have felt MANY times like she had nine children!! It seems to me that Kate is doing her best while Jon is constantly seeking attention. Perhaps Jon's visitations with his children should be monitored by a responsible adult so that Kate would know they were being cared for appropriately. More extra things for Kate to have to organise.

  65. I heard he had a girlfriend in DC but odly she hasn't surfaced yet. People have strong feeling about Jon just as they do about Kate. I really hope that Jon firing his lawyer was the best way for him & Kate to resolve issues privately and not always on the web.

Now the kids will be back on TV. He did so much to hurt his family and take them off the air for nothing. They are back on and he now is broke. This all would have never happened if he hadn't listened to his lawyers. Sad.

  66. Baby Mama~ Thank you for the link to the post My Favorite Kate Recipes. I am now off to get the ingredients for the Tomatoe-Onion Salad. Sounds Yummy and refreshing. Thanks again ;)

  67. Rachelpr & BM - Wow, that was a long sonopsis of the history of Jon. He did deny to ROL that he doesn't have a girl friend, time will tell. I think he behaves better when he is in PA, because of the close proximity to his family. JMO! I also like to think he has seen the light and is going to try and mend his ways. Hitting the bottom of the barrel is a good wake up call for anyone. As far as saying he is not a father, well he is and just didn't want to be molded by TLC or Kate. He went off the deep, and now is swimming back against allot of waves. He has allot to live down but allot to live for. I truly do believe that he loves those kids and is going to do the right thing.
I wish people would stop calling him a dead beat dad, because we do not know.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Now ROL is trying to make it seem like Jon and Kate were together at the house on Sunday, but they make sure to point out that they have no pics of them together. I think Kate probably came home and Jon left Sunday. They didn't necessarily have to be there at the same time.

I don't know what to say about Jon at this point. I do hope he's trying to get his act together and be there for the kids... but his latest video about firing his lawyer really turned me off. Just the fact that he was allowed to speak makes me wary. Why would TLC all of a sudden give him permission to make a statement like that? I'm waiting to see what happens next...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Yes, Jon did deny having a new girlfriend.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Wow, here's a clip where Kate actually speaks to the paps! And she tells them what they should write and they say they only take the pics, they don't write the story and she tells them to take notes then!

It also shows Kate pulling up in the driveway and Jon waving hello to her...

I agree hitting rock bottom is a BIG wake up call but often the only way you finally see what you have. I think what Jon did (and no excuse) but I think he was in complete survivor mode this last year. Its the only way he knew how to seperate himself from this aweful thing that happened to him. Divorce is aweful, but I pray pray pray now that he has no more girls to give his attention tohe can finally come back to what he knows is more important.

I think thats a GREAT statement. He sure does have alot of live for, I just think this was the worst time in his life. But we have seen, before this last year he was a good father, he loves those kids. He just needs to swim back to shore :)

  72. Hi!!!!!! Thanks for all the congrats about IW.

Tashpork I LOVE LOVE the idea about Matt making a cool play spot for the kids. Can you imagine those two type A personalities trying to work together? Talk about great TV. LOL

I have to be honest about Jon lately..I am not hating him so much. He is showing signs of the old Jon...at least we know he's still in there some where! But dude...what's with the hair? The boys in my 4th graders class wear their hair like that. Need I say more?

I may be MIA in commenting in the next month, I am moving May 31st and it's the 3rd time in as many years! I STILL have too much to pack. LOL But I will try to get here because I will need the break!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Craftymom~ you came! You didn't forget about me after all! ;) I'm goin to try to get back into my crafting thought process and need your help getting my mojo back after you move! lol

I agree that even though it sounds very staged and intentional, this is a great step in the right direction. Jon is still very immature and regardless of the kooky hair, he still needs to realize he has to play nice and not try to go up against the powers of Kate and TLC. He went from saying that his kids shouldn't be filmed & taking his wife ot court..to being firendly, saying hi on video and even begging for another shot at reality TV. Backtrack much?

Kind of like when the haters try to go up against me & the fans...lose lose situation lol

    ReplyDelete
  74. Craftymom, oh wow, you made me think of things I hadn't thought of and that would bring the drama tlc seems to crave. I think Pennsylvania is stricter than Oregon on building codes (I could be wrong) and Matt doesn't have the patience for that, not to mention him and Kate clashing over his mess or him taking too long. The kids could also go to Roloff farms. Good luck with the move.
I for one have never believed that Jon is a bad dad. He has made some really bad choices and I really don't think he understands the ramifications that those choices have on the kids, but he does really care about them and He does try for them. I don't even think Kate thinks he's a bad father, I think she'd like him to step up more and take responsibility for himself, but she knows the kids need him. I agree with Caregiver about the him hitting rock bottom and having an awful year. I really think that's why when he pulls something I get really mad at him, whereas most of the others like Tiger Woods, I don't really care. I want him to do good and hope he's trying. Of oourse, I get soo frustrated when I am thinking the best and he proves me wrong, but I am an eternal optimist.

  76. cherier1~ Thank you so much for this article. The Huffington Post normally prides themselves on being the voice of the haters of Kate Gosselin. I really was interested in this part:

"Reality television is sort of the only way she's known how to handle the reality of their reality.
Yes she's a control freak - probably was one from the start and then realized it was the only way to cope - but I never got the sense this has ever been about her. Nor do I think the making of Jon and Kate Plus 8 hurt any of the children - she simply wouldn't have allowed it, plus it's always seemed clear to me that everyone involved adored these children."

I always enjoy reading something about Kate that is sensible and doesn't attack her from the idiot standpoint. The doesn't love her, but doesn't hate her either.

  77. Hi guys...Mondays aren't the same again without Kate on DWTS, but I am still gonna watch!!
On another note, my 2 children also play in the front yard and in the driveway! We rent and there really isn't room in the back being that we have a town home and all!!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow! A nice article from Huffington Post. I'm amazed.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yes, wish there were more sensible and responsible articles like that.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah, people have been asking me today if I will be watching tonight. As I already mentioned, Mondays was pure chaos at my house, having my friends over and putting the kids to bed. Luckily with Kate not on, it's no longer at my house! And for me, the fun and excitement is gone. I really looked forward to watching her.

Another show that will be on the DVR, but probably not watched. Or at least just skip to tomorrow for the re-caps :(

    ReplyDelete
  81. That was a good article! Can we get some more like that, please? :)

I'm done with Dancing With the Stars for now. I might watch later on in the game to see who wins, but I was really just watching for Kate before.

I wonder how many viewers will be lost (or even gained?) now that Kate's off the show. That will be interesting to see...

  82. To everyone e-mailing me about book tour info...Whatever lies are spewing at other sites is not true. No book tours have been announced, and Kate was not in Georgia this weekend as we clearly saw. If anyone hears of anything, please let me know so I can pass it along...

Honestly book tours take alot of time, and all anyone needs is to get wind of Kate traveling the world for 2 months, and frankly I don't think she even has the time. Though one quick stop by me would be great :) But she's dealing with Jon playing nicey nice right now...lol

    ReplyDelete
  83. The book tour information being posted was from last year. There was a rumor she was going on 700 club but they emphatically deny it.

    ReplyDelete
  84. MONDAY. MONDAY. CAN'T TRUST THAT DAY. No DWTS tonight. No fun w/o Kate.

    What to watch? Oh dear...

    ReplyDelete
  85. Holliday~ I feel like I'm going to cave! Hey at least I'm honest. I'm hoping Jake will go since his dance last week scarred me...still trying to think who I would support. Probably Niecy!

  86. Oh SHEESH! Did you hear all of the cameras snapping on Kate??? I feel ill. And do you hear the paps conversations? They are so desperate in their attempt to do their job. It's almost like hunting, only these are humans trying to carry on some kind of life! (and did Kate say, "F you?")

The paps are incredibly sick and annoying!! I hope in some form or fashion that they at some time have to endure the same torture that they inflict on others! Seriously, we should not post links to their sick hobby or their, if you can seriously call it this -- J-O-B -- and we should not watch them! It only serves the purposes of the people who benefit from taking the pics/footage, creating (and making up most of the info) articles and the editors behind the trash mags! I know, I know -- it's like rubber-necking an accident; you just can't help yourself. But, honestly, if you truly want the best for the kids, including their privacy, you will not watch or look at the pics/vids. For all the accusations of J&K using their children to pad their bank account, the sick paparazzi are doing the same thing and we are only contributing to the sickness. (Have I mentioned sick enough times?)

I am guilty, too, so I'm not pointing fingers. But I am committing from this point forward not to support their garbage by clicking on the links or reading the online articles. I'm sure I stand alone but I personally cannot in good conscience continue.

BabyMama, I'm sure that when the show(s) start that maybe you will not have to depend on such information in order to give your site something to talk about. But I encourage you to rely on "real" journalism and those sites/programs where J&/orK are willing participants. That is not a slam on you, though. This just really gets to my heart.

  87. MyTwo Girls - About your kids playing in the front yard because you are in a Townhouse and there is no room in the back. Exactly my point, Kate has ten acres of land and that's plenty of space to spread out. She is not a farmer, so she might as well develope a safe place for the kids and also company to come visit, since they don't want to be on TV. Maybe then the real Grandparents would come over.
If she sectioned off the back area with a big privacy fence at the back of the house then no one could be seen from the road and her front view would not be distroyed. Hell, she could even do a black top obstacle course for the kids. This is something that has to done soon before they get to old to enjoy it. the kids, I mean!
If she tells TLC about it they might even help pay for it. That would gaurantee them that they would have the sole rights to filming the kids at home. There, I am done. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  88. The fan page on facebook from her sister is asking people not to watch so that ABC can see the drop in ratings. I feel this way, the ones that normally watch probably will, the ones who just watched for Kate probably won't. I would support Niecy, I really liked the breakfast with her and Kate on the Insider website which is unusual because I usually don't like anything related to Insider. I never even heard about it before Jon went on it last fall.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I have heard others voice their displeasure regarding TLC's control over pictures taken of and what is said to the media by Jon and Kate. Set in the Cleft commented on the paps taking pictures and making money from the photos. If I was Jon or Kate, I would encourage TLC to control what is released to the media. That way I could benefit monetarily from my brand as opposed to opportunists. I think if I was kate I would lose it a few times and comment to the paps just out of pure frustration as did Jon probably when he said he fired his lawyer. I don't think TLC controls every word. I think Jon tried to break free from TLC over the year so that HE could make the money immediately as opposed to through a pay cheque from TLC. TLC put a stop to it and rightly so. If Jon followed the rules he could be selling a book or have his own show, just like Kate.

  90. #1CG - I agree..

..and actually, since the kids are growing, all the more reason to have the area developed. A little Gosselin compound! Haha! That reminds me of a J&K+8 that I watched recently where both J&K were talking about how hard it would be to have the kids leave home and they talked about how they would buy an RV and split up the year spending 6 weeks at each kids' house because they would miss them so much. Aw, just hearing them say that together made me want to cry. Those dreams are gone!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Caregiver - excellent suggestions. Perhaps they could also work something out with the property owner behind them (the woods and across the creek) to prohibit paps on his/her property if a huge fence is erected. The house is turned strange on the lot so back is closer than you'd think to adjacent property. I know I was sick when they bought the house and the aerial photos and layouts were published.

Baby Mama - lol. It's okay to watch.

I'm not watching, but I voted for Niecy, lol. I wasn't really voting for the "dance" any way. I don't think there's too much doubt about who will win. The vote is for whomever I wish to vote for - my choice and my reasons.

    ReplyDelete
  92. OMG I was thinking that tonight was 2 dances PLUS they all have to get on the floor together and dance don't they? I think it's best Kate left when she did. lol

    ReplyDelete
  93. I don't think I could ever bring myself to put pavement in my backyard. Yucky, once that nature is gone it's gone. I would invest in a HUGE fence, for the paps & the nosy neighbours. Those children deserve to be able to play wherever they choose in their home & property. The only place you can ride a bike. shoot hoops or rollerblade is on pavement. I just wish they could do something legally to put a stop to that kind of harassement against the kids. Thanks for the Life cereal tip girls I'll try it. The next time anyone I know goes to the states I'm putting in a Chex order.

    ReplyDelete
  94. momsby there isn't any chex there? I didn't know that, I wonder if you could order it online? I went to Toronto during the Winter once and it was frigid. It's sadly my only memory of Canada..

    ReplyDelete
  95. Linda,

I totally agree with you on the pap issue. I'm just as guilty. But I wonder if even if fans like us don't click on the links for the pics, I'm sure a lot of the obsessive haters out there will. But a huge reduction in viewers (like a boycott) might help a little, but not a whole lot.

Some of the haters comments are rediculous about Kate being a fame whore because they lie about her enjoying the paps as much as the paid shows & interviews. Paid shows and interviews are part of her job! Paps are nothing more than unwanted pests invading her right to privacy. It's one thing if they take pictures of her out and about from far away when there's no kids around, but another to be in her face or following right behind her making comments and asking rude questions.

No wonder so many of them get beat up by other celebrities. They may be just doing their job but what a sleazy low-life way to make a living!

    ReplyDelete
  96. It would also seem to me that intentionally photographing people without their permission on their own property, especially children, even if they are public figures, should be made illegal. Freedom of the press should not be so absolute as to override an individual's right to privacy.

    ReplyDelete
  97. The whole "not clicking" issue has my support.

I remember the trip to Bald Head Island. It's somewhat secluded in that you have to take the ferry to get to it. Kate made a deal with the paps then. They would agree to take shots on the ferry ride and then leave Kate & kids alone for most of their trips into Wilmington. That worked. Of couse, Wilmingtonians are so used to "celebrities" being in town for shoots because of the movie studio that they just don't get followed as much as in some locales.

There's some griping when a street gets blocked.

    ReplyDelete
  98. No Chex in Canada, that I can find...The winter where I live it's frigid & we h get snowbanks taller than me...not my favorite part. I was green with envy when I say the Gosselin kids in shorts a couple of weeks ago. We are still wearing jeans & jacket's but happy as all heck that the snow is gone. In fact many years it lasts till Mid May. In the summer, it's God's country, except for the blackflies & mosquito's. Good idea about online, funny all this work & I'll only actually make it for a rare treat. The thing's we do for our kiddies, I laughed at your tweet about taking your baby on lunch to Gymb. I'd do that too:)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Gymboree has been a part of my life for literally 8 years for various reasons. I have made friends and we have fun. I was too tired to run this morning and take the baby. My little one wears mostly Gymboree or Janie & Jack clothing. I wish I could have expierenced Canada during the summer..;)

I normally don't watch Tori & Dean on Oxygen, but I was flipping and low and behold..Stella said she had to go to the potty. They took out the same singing chair I have.. they had a little bit of that. Funny that no one seems to make issue with other parently struggling with potty training on TV, more than the uproar over Jon & Kate.

Not to rehash that, but since Im just in the beginning stages of that I enjoyed the segment, then got pissed off that Kate and her show get the brunt of it from itiot haters that obviously never went through it. Regarldess if it is on TV or not.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Well , I guess the big debate is up in the air, as to what to do about privacy. Momsby wishes there was something legally they could do to stop the paps from taking pic. Well there is, build that big ugly fence that everyone thinks is a good idea, and that's legal. Fences do provide privacy, they keep people out. It would really look like a compound then! lol! End of discussion on this topic. That's the price you pay for fame.

I did watch DWTS and cast my votes for my favorites. Evan and Erin are on my split ticket. I have to admit though, that it was not as exciting without all the drama that Kate brings. Monday baseball is back so that will be better then DWTS.

    ReplyDelete
  101. With the way the grounds are, there is no way they could build a fence high enough to obstruct vision from across the street. There are over 20 acres, they just need to extend the patio (where Kate cooked the chicken) and let the kids ride back there. The pool is very near that area and none is visible from the road.
Such a shame they didn't chose a home in a gated community. They really have no need for the acreage and it cannot be divided.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I'm still watching and supporting Evan 100%. I don't think Nicole should be there at all but it seems like they have had a pop star in the past as well.

My thoughts on the privacy are that they should either build the fence or tall hedges or I was actually thinking that Kate could have a custom built house done probably for less money and with much less land. I am not sure what property rates are in Reading but I know in other parts of PA it's not as pricey to have a building co. build from scratch. I know J & K call this the kids house but it has always seemed like a lot of upkeep and additional expense to me. Maybe Kate could turn this into a fun project and have the kids help design it too. If Jon is truly serious about having his own large place then this may not be that far fetched. My thought on doing this was maybe they could move into a private development where the paps can't come on property.

I thought the video Schmecky posted was sad--what do the paps get out of photographing at a car wash. I did chuckle at Kate's comment though about the volcano. I too am going to make a better effort only to look at photos/videos from mainstream media.
